Happy Friday everyone!
What a week it's been. I'm finally feeling back to normal as of yesterday. My boyfriend and I have been apartment hunting and we checked out a place yesterday that has one of our favorite parks literally in the backyard. This would mean no excuses to not go outside and take advantage of the walking/bike path that goes for miles along the creek. We applied yesterday and *fingers crossed* we sign a lease today!
Because of all the craziness yesterday with the apartment, I barely had time to eat and, according to MFP and Fitbit, I burned off 1400 calories just from walking in the crazy heat and also just nerves! I was wiped out last night and still am this morning, and hoping everything goes well so I can just relax tonight.
Oh yeah, I hit 238 this morning, which means I've officially lost 10 lbs! Woooo!9 -
Hi ladies, still reading your posts for inspiration. Sorry I don't post often. Past couple months have been rough. Next week is 1st anniversary of my husband passing away, so please keep me in your prayers. Knee is bad, so probably need another injection. Ouch. Am down a couple lbs but long way to go. Currently 258, need to get to 170 maybe. But at 70, this isn't easy. Most difficult is night time as I don't sleep well and get hungry. Thanks to all of you on this journey. 😊💕15

It's Friday!!!!
With my inability to exercise and my days of falling off the wagon over the past 2 weeks I'm probably going to skip weighing in tomorrow and wait until next week. I might change my mind in the morning but I really don't want being sick to affect my mental state by looking at the scale on a rough week. Also, this weekend is going to be full of things so I need to make a plan for going forward.
Tonight I get to see Brooks & Dunn in concert. My friend's husband was called into work and won't be able to go now so I get his ticket. I'm super excited!!! Then Father's Day is Sunday and my husband's birthday is Monday so we'll be celebrating both of those over the weekend. That will include snacks, a trip for a sub sandwich my husband enjoys, Carvel ice cream cake, etc. I also hope to start walking and slowly trying my elliptical at home this weekend to see how my stamina is going. I know last weekend I needed to lie down after doing dishes and some small straightening up but I feel a lot better today so we shall see.
I am also going to take a later lunch break today and take a mini nap during that time so that I don't feel like I'm crashing when the concert is starting. No one wants to arrive at a concert just to feel unable to enjoy it.
Tag Party!
@CupcakeCrusoe Have a fantastic vacation!!!! I don’t have any recommendations for daycare but that’s horrible. How can they kick you for someone on the waitlist if you’re already in the program? I would be panicking big time.
@bonniemcc4 Yay for getting that next appointment scheduled so easily! That’s always one of the worst things when they say you need to follow up but make it difficult to do so. Also, are you able to do wi-fi calling from your cell? Or connect your cell number to an Alexa or Google device? I only ask because I had an apartment with HORRIBLE service and I did both of those things. If I was just answering a call I would have my phone on wi-fi calling and if I was calling out I would actually call using my Alexa. Now, I keep my Alexa connected to my phone number so my daughter can call out without needing a home phone in an emergency.
@sandielewis2001 That’s fabulous! Congrats on being so close to your goal!
@porquenoirl Buying a house is crazy stressful. Good luck!
@Inky_one I haven’t heard of the Snack & Glow plate but I love that idea. I should really try that with working from home.
@JAC581 Good luck on the apartment!!!!
@finngirl61 I’ll be thinking comforting thoughts for you.

So I've finally weighed in after putting it off for months. I did gain a lot of weight, but surprisingly not as much as I thought I did. I think the extra 20lbs just resettled in different places (grrr).
My new job is getting me outside and walking all over the place, so that's great. I've been pretty sedentary for months, so I'm hoping this will help.
I have been eating really well when I'm alone, but I go to my mom's house once or twice a week and all bets are off. So I'm working on that. What I've really stuck to is eating my meals at the table with no phone or screen. I feel like it's helping me to be mindful, and that was something I was lacking.
My first goal weight is 229, so 21lbs down, and it would be nice to hit this by mid-September, but I'm not fixated on when, just how. Anyway, overall pretty good so far. 💜💜💜6 -

Earlier I realised I'm very close to moving down an obesity category and the numbers are all nice and round so let me share:
I'm super close to having lost 30lbs and to reach the first minigoal weight I'd have to lose exactly 35lbs. How convenient. My current weight is 275 in American and 125 in Dutch. The other numbers are less pretty so I'll spare you those.
I love all of these things. I knew my mirror wasn't fooling me even though the scale was! And my back is slowly getting better. Also my bikini still fits, which was a worry because I forgot when I bought it since I never got to wear it. Pools were closed due to the pandemic and we didn't have many warm days that coincided with days off from work.
I did get badly sunburnt despite using sun cream regularly sooooo... yeah, ouch. And it's all oddly shaped too so yikes.
@JAC581 yay! Love that you got the apartment!4 -

Thanks everyone for the support, the whole card situation has been cleared up. We got all of our money back but I am definitely still feeling overly cautious after the whole ordeal. I don't know what will happen with the information we turned in (people ordered stuff for delivery with their name and address using our card so we had all of the the theif's information... Not very smart) but out of our hands now.
Okay I'm terrible at keeping up but I think I went through all the post I've missed soooo tag party:
@pamperedlinny Absolutely agree with teaching your kiddo how to eat healthier. I think one of my favorite things about getting healthy and making these life style changes is my kids seeing and mimicking them. Maybe then they won't have the same struggles I did/do growing up in an unhealthy family and not having the right tools and techniques to be healthier. Hope you're having fun at the concert right now and enjoy your weekend! ♥️
@lessjess22 IMHO I think that is the best way to go about it. I think making lifestyle and mental changes is the only way to stay substainable in weight loss. Sounds like a great start to me!
@bonniemcc4 I hope you're doing better, as someone with depression and anxiety I know how crippling that can be. Switching meds is an extremely stressful time so remember to take care of yourself and be kind to yourself. ♥️
@CupcakeCrusoe who doesn't love a little drama? I know I do (as long as it doesn't involve me 🤣) Did I read right? A kid free weekend?!! What will you do with all that time and quietness? Im living through you so have some fun!!!
@sandielewis2001 🥳 that's amazing news!!!
@BeastModeBeauty87 Hi 👋 Hope you make it to your goal. We're all rooting for you!!
@Inky_one "snack and glow" plate? That sounds great! Mind sharing the TT handle for that?
@JAC581 CONGRATULATIONS ON THE APARTMENT 🎉 and the 10lbs!! 🥳

I decided to check the gym scale's accuracy by also stepping on the scale at my mum's and it says the exact same thing so I am happy. And then I had a 1500kcal breakfast.
Some tmi stuff:
I feel like eating around maintenance is a lot of food so I was wondering how that could still be less than the waterweight I was carrying from exercise. But I think with the increased food I also increased fiber so I just poop more often now so I'm not carrying much extra food in my body.
No longer tmi:
But still, going off the numbers, at one point last week I must've been carrying 4kg extra water. That's crazy to me. That's almost 10 lbs of water weight. Though I guess when you're tall and muscled and fat, it isn't all that much. 10lbs of water weight has to be much worse on a 5 foot nothing skinny person.
I've lost 13kg/28.6lbs in 20 weeks so I'm on a 650 grams per week pace or 1.34lbs per week on anywhere between 2200 and 2600kcal on average per day measured over the week. The 2200-2400 range is for approx a kg a week, the 2400-2600 range is for approx half a kg per week and both have had good recomp results. So I think after my diet break I will try to eat 2450-2700kcal a day. I think this will be doable if I regularly stock up on ice cream and go out to enjoy the summer weather. I won't be dialling down on exercise after my back goes back to normal so I expect to see larger numbers on the scale again (up to 4kg apparently) until I have another busy week or vacation when I can't train.4 -

Weight is up, but I am sure the majority of it is water weight. I was at a work conference in Orlando earlier this week, so there were lots of guesstimates in my tracking, but I think it should be pretty close, and I really don't think I was excessively over. Despite the 3 hour earlier time difference, I dragged my butt out of bed in the mornings to exercise. I even did a 5k run/walk one morning (which I am still sore from)! My coworker and I were the last people across the line with 15 minute miles because I work with a bunch of overachievers, but we did it! I don't know how you all that live in humid places exercise outdoors though, lol.
I will be back on a plane on Monday for my next trip, this time to Boston, so I will be suprised if I see a full drop of the water weight before more travel puts it back on. At least this time it is not a conference so I will have more control over the food 😉
Goals for June
- Meet fiber goals at least 3x per week: ❌️ 1 of 3
- Meet protein goals at least 3x per week: ❌️ 1 of 3
- Minimum 6000 steps daily: ✔️
- At least 8 glasses water daily: ✔️5 -
For the 4th year in a row we had a tropical night in June in the Netherlands. Usually that only happens in July and August, and even then not most nights.
So my period came a day late and I wanted to see the impact of it on the scale. I'm up 1,5kg/3.3lbs in 24 hours. That's so much. Now I know and won't worry about it.5 -

🕊️Recuperate from illnesses and prednisone/hives. If possible, continue fitness journey and always be thankful!
🕊️Be patient! Remember that increments are where it is at, and focus on habits.
🕊️Weigh the food in the ‘test kitchen’!
🕊️Remember: Total loss of over 120 lbs!!
I have been able to continue some low impact most days and I am very grateful for that! the hives are still there and I want to take a picture to see the difference, but I seem to have swollen eyes/face every day. I want to tell neighbors I took up boxing so they don't think anything is out of sorts!
I went to a funeral and saw many friends that I literally haven't seen since Easter 2 years ago about. Needless to say, many didn't recognize me. Whew, I thought it was just me who didn't recognize that lady in the mirror! The hubby was the one who tipped off that the person was me, usually. Although, a couple ladies walked up to the hubby and asked where I was. Hilarious! I bet in their heads they were all like, "the nerve of him showing up with another woman! Where is Tarean?!" hahahahahaha, lols. One asked me how I did it, and a couple were concerned that I was too skinny. But I mean, after so much weight loss and how different I look, I am certain I look sick. Well, I am sick, but you know what I mean.
@bonniemcc4 ((hugs)) I am very grateful that things are going better with your appointments. I also know how hard it is to stand because of cell phone stuff ((hugs)) Hang in there, you are so incredibly amazing and so encouraging!! ((hugs))

I wore an old blouse today and the fit is so weird now. It looks like it was made for women with large chests but it's huge around my arms, shoulders and waist too. (Edit for clarity: I'm not one of these large-chested women, it just looks weird on me.) It's only tight around my belly but even then it's much looser than it used to be and I'm experencing some bloating from my period.
Idk how it got looser around my shoulders since my arms remain unchanged measurement-wise. This diet break is working wonders.
I couldn't have picked a better time for a diet break. I have so many events this week where I'm not in charge of the food that idk how I would've stayed within my calories. Today is the one day without anything going on and I have trouble planning food beyond 1500cals so I think I'll aim for 2400 today and get in some liquid calories. I already had 100gr of peanut butter straight from the jar yesterday, I'm tired of it.
I'm also going to try to do the regular workout at the gym today. Instead of rowing, I'll just use the bike but I should be able to backsquat at 60% of my max so 'm hopeful. I do feel my back but usually my pain is extremely hightened while on my period and it doesn't feel that bad.4 -
Good morning everyone!
I'm back from DC, we had a very nice time. If you get the chance to visit Mt. Vernon, it's well worth the trip. The view is incredible, they did a good job with the exhibits, and the restaurant next to the gift shop has AMAZING food.
I'm drinking my coffee in quiet on the porch this morning and tapping this out on my phone, so no tags- will get them later. Right now enjoying my porch and being at home is too nice.
My scale doesn't get here until Wednesday 😱 but my favorite pajamas are a little looser, I think. We'll find out Thursday morning, I guess. In the meantime, I can balance eating well and hitting the gym (tonight is poles and oh split again! 🥰 My favorite combo) and staying busy cleaning the house. Gotta take this time while the babies are at Grandma's to have my house the way I like it to be.
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning!
The concert on Friday night was AMAZING! I'm so glad I was able to go. On Saturday and Sunday I managed to run errands and do a few things without feeling like I was going to die so that's progress. This morning I did a short walk with my neighbor as well. I wanted to be sure if I did the neighborhood loop (big or small as we have 2 options) I went with a partner my first time back out since being sick. You just never know. However, I managed the small loop just fine. A bit out of breath but nothing major.
I'm going to try to go to the gym tonight. I'm not sure yet if I plan to try the lower impact Zumba that is on Monday or if I'm going to do the machines/weights instead. Either way everything will be modified until I'm comfortable again.
Yesterday being Father's Day and today being my husband's birthday makes food a big thing over this past weekend and through today. We have ice cream cake tonight and I need to try and plan accordingly. If I go over, so be it. I plan to celebrate with him either way. He's 58 today.
I did weigh in on Saturday but it was no change from the previous week.

@JAC581 I’m so glad you got the apartment!!!
@bojaantje3822 I have a love/hate relationship with my clothes that no longer fit correctly. I both get excited that my measurements have changed and annoyed if it was something I used to love wearing.
@justanotherloser007 I would have had a lot of fun with people not recognizing me from weight loss. Honestly, that kind of transformation is amazing. Great job.
@CupcakeCrusoe Welcome back! I’m originally from Baltimore so we had sooo many school field trips into DC. That said, I agree that Mt Vernon is wonderful. Also, anyone who gets a chance to hit the Smithsonian...The Air & Space Museum is my favorite building. Enjoy your quiet time!

I'm happy when it's pants because usually that means they fit better and if they fit worse it's somehow still okay but when it's a top that gets too big I get angry 😂4

June GW: 236 - 240 ✔️
June Goals:
🌷 Reorganize my closet and get rid of anything that's too big ✔️
🌷 Push myself in my HIIT workouts ✔️ (just upped my base running pace! and distance victory!)
🌷 Carefully meal plan and prep ✔️
🌷 Flexibility work 5+ times per week (needs work)
🌷 Read 8+ books (on track)
Cleaning out my wardrobe has been a project. I've been working my way through my closet and dressers to identify what fits, what doesn't (too big vs. too small) and what I don't like anymore. I've made a bunch of sales on Mercari/Poshmark, clearing out the 2X stuff. The stuff that's too small is in a wardrobe "staging area" that I can shop as I lose more weight.
I have SO MANY tops/tees/tanks/lounge bottoms/dresses, but no pants. So that's an interesting place to be. I ended up buying a new pair of jeans at Old Navy this weekend (THEY WERE A 16 AND I'M DEAD). Scored them on closeout + promo so they were $6! Can't complain about that at all. But at some point soonish I imagine I'm going to need pants other than leggings and jeans? I WFH, so maybe I can put this off for a little longer?
I need to get fitted for new bras soon, but I'm hoping to make it to the fall before I make the appointment at my local boutique for a fitting. Hoping to get the most out of the ones I have for now.
Ugh. I've hit a weight where I want to go shopping and buy NEW things instead of just shopping my closet and wearing the 4567823452340 things I already have. But that's wasteful, even if it's secondhand. I have more than enough clothes to last me awhile. I should be happy that I'm fitting into stuff instead of wanting to go buy even more things!8 -
Also, I saw this article in the WSJ and thought you all might be interested in it. It's about over-exercising and the negative effects it can have.

So I'm going to chalk the weight gain up to two things: 1) TOM arriving three days early yesterday, and 2) not tracking at all over the weekend. The weekend was just go go go and honestly, it was just a PITA to track with everything going on. I did slip a little - a chocolate coffee peanut butter milkshake yesterday, and an AMAZING (and huge!) platter of chicken and rice at the Juneteenth celebration downtown on Saturday. Other than those two things, I didn't go too out of control. Oh wait, my boyfriend really wanted to try the new fried chicken place downtown Friday night after signing our lease(!) so yeah, this wasn't a great weekend nutritionally.
BUT, I'm hoping things slow down this week and I can get back into the groove of things. I went into the office today. We are moving offices over the summer and really downsizing so we are giving away desks, chairs, etc. to employees who need/want them. I just helped move a huge desk outside so there's a little bit of a strength workout, lol. I came prepared with food this time so I'm not tempted to eat out (I've been spending too much anyway). It's a perfect day for a walk in the park so I plan on doing that later in the workday. I also am wearing workout clothes in the office because who cares. I figured I'd be going for a walk so I made sure to dress comfortably for it.
Tomorrow is another baseball game so I'll need to plan my food for the day to allow for a White Claw and walking taco in the evening. That's probably going to be it because DANG stadium food is expensive.
Have a wonderful week everyone!7 -
My child has driven me crazy all day.... I finally snapped. Then she went to sulk and I put the leftover fries from Saturday in the air fryer and I don't even regret it at this moment. I will later but right now I'm taking solice in french fries.
Also, our microwave broke the other day so I had to go buy a new one, find space for it since it isn't an over the stove one but a countertop one this time, try to run to Walmart for purchase and set everything up on my lunch hour while my child was taking TWO HOURS to unload the dishwasher. Since my workspace is next to the kitchen and I needed to get everything done in under an hour that was a big part of what caused the snap.7 -

Sorry I haven't been around much, with kids all day and school at night it's been difficult to be engaged in the community. I successfully created a jam packed routine , but I'm happy with it until the semester ends. Considering I was at 193 on 6/11 last week and then gained due to the TOM. I got a good woosh from TOM taking a hike, finally. I have an exam today that I have been obsessing over so I'll probably spend some time tomorrow reading your posts, I have a lot of catching up to do!
On the plus side, I'm thinking I might actually hit my goal weight by my birthday

Oop, forgot to check in on Saturday. I saw 183 on the scale during the week, but I also think I'm due for another visit from Aunt Flo in the next week or so, so that sucks. It's just water and poop, it'll whoosh.
My mom is in town and it's been so nice to see her! We went to the science museum today - they have an interactive exhibit themed around brainteasers/puzzle-solving, both of us are into that so we decided to go check it out. It's mainly geared toward little kids, but so is the whole science museum, tbf. It was still pretty neat, and a few of the puzzles for, you know, six year olds had us stumped for a good little minute.
Today I started a new exercise regimen. For the next 12 weeks, my goal is to average 7000 steps per day and 10 minutes of yoga per day. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday are also strength-training days; I modified a 6-day Push/Pull/Legs (PPL) split into two 3-day splits with an A-week and B-week. Monday is always Push day but I alternate between two similar-but-different specific workouts each week; Tuesday is Pull day, Thursday is Legs day. I'm excited to shift focus to lower body again - I feel SO strong and it's SO GOOD. Wednesday is a cardio focus day, Friday is yoga, weekend is whatever steps/yoga minutes I need to meet my weekly average goals.
I made a piña colada flavored baked oatmeal for breakfast this week. It smells amazing so I'm hoping it tastes good, too. It used coconut flakes and coconut milk, as well as almond milk - I was going to just use dairy milk since I had that on hand, but then I remembered that pineapple makes milk curdle, so I ended up grabbing a carton of almond milk too. I'm open to suggestions for what to do with the rest, I only used a quarter of the carton for the oatmeal.5 -
almond milk goes great in smoothies! I also use it when I want my overnight oatmeal to be good and creamy. it has a nice mouth-feel.4

⬇️ Lose 5-6 pounds and enter the 250s (I’ll be happy with any loss)
Past week update:
I have eaten at least 4 servings of fruits and veggies each day this past week. No exercise. Pool still isn’t open 😒 not that I think I’d be able to go still coughing as bad as I have been. I know I posted in here I did, but I set one of the two in person appointments with my primary. Not sure when I should schedule the second one for yet.
I’m supposed to go get a chest x-ray for this coughing issue. My doctor thinks it could have been Covid that I had even though the rapid test was negative. I’m also getting blood work for my hormones because that time of the month has been off kilter in one way or another for nearly a year. Those two places are next door to each other but with most lab hours closing earlier than my brother gets off work I had to arrange a ride with a ride service for this Wednesday.
My niece will be coming over Friday night again. She got her own car now and I’m so excited that she can come over easier and hopefully more often!
I have tried using Wi-Fi calling with my phone but it doesn’t help. What helps more often, believe it or not, is turning my Wi-Fi connection off during a call. It doesn’t always help but more often than other things.5 -
Woke up to an over 2 lb. whoosh overnight, which was a nice surprise! I didn't track what I ate for most of yesterday, but I tried to make smart choices. Also, between moving offices and apartments, I'm being more active taking apart stuff, moving furniture, and scrubbing my place down. I was up at 6:45 this morning scrubbing out my oven (getting the worse chores out of the way early in the moving process!) after letting a baking soda paste sit overnight. It doesn't look much cleaner, but oh well.
Tonight is a baseball game, which should be fun despite the heat. I'll get lots more steps in walking around the stadium. Dinner will be a walking taco and maybe ice cream, so I need to be cognizant of my food choices the rest of the day. My boyfriend suggested having my parents join us, and somehow, I convinced them to go. My father very rarely leaves the house and always finds something to complain about, so this should be interesting, but it will be good for him to get out. We have four season tickets to each game through my employer (employees sign up for whatever games they want to attend) so it's pretty nice getting to go out and save money on tickets.
Have a great day everyone!5 -
The scale at the gym showed 128kg. Even though I ate at a surplus most of the week, I couldn't have gained more than half a kg. I went over my sedentary maintenance by 500-600 cals on average and while I had 2 days of bed rest, I wasn't inactive the rest of the week. I also started exercising again yesterday and my quads actually ached from the assault bike 😂 so I'm not worried at all.4

Just restarted my journey. Looking to lose 196lbs but make small goals to start. My first goal is to cut back on sugar. And drink more water.6
