Hello everyone ๐
Decided to join a challenge for the first time๐
Little background: I did really well with maintaining my weight loss for a good 5 years. But the last two have been a bit more challenging, Iโve not been active as regularly as usual and probably ate take-away at the most frequent rate I ever have before. Today I realised Iโve reached the highest numbers Iโve seen on the scale since 2014, so Iโm ready to join ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ
Highest weight (2013): 71kgs/156.5 lbs
Maintenance weight during those 5 years: 56-58kgs/ 123.5-127.9 lbs
September starting weight: 66.2 kgs/145.9 lbs
September goal weight: 62kgs / 136.7 lbs
Ultimate goal by end of November: 58kgs/127.9 lbs
September 3: 66.2kgs/145.9 lbs
September 10: 65.2kgs/ 143.7 lbs

Hello everyone,
Iโm 10 days late but would like to join the challenge! Iโve been carrying the extra weight I gained during my pregnancy but never was able to lose them. I also didnโt live a very healthy life in the past years with high sugar intake (Iโm a super sweet tooth). Now itโs time to take care of MYSELF!
Letโs do it TOGETHER!

Hi all.
My name is Amy and I'm 44, really struggling with runaway weight gain. In 2013 I lost 50 lbs using MFP and running, but the past couple of years have really taken their toll, and I now have 70 lbs to lose. Having a place to check in every day will be very helpful, so here I am I've just started working out three times a week at a gym, will be working with a personal trainer once a week, and now I really need to dial in my food and drink. Looking forward to all the little victories along the way, and seeing you all succeed as well.

Good morning all! If you are anything like me, the weekend did you no favors. Figured I couldn't be the only one that needed a little motivation. Anyone want to share what motivates you?
I will go first!
Originally, I was motivated to look good in the summer time and in smaller clothes. But over the years and after having a baby, the motivation has changed to fit in a size L rather than XL and to be happy when I look in the mirror. I miss feeling good about how I look and having a sense of confidence. Also want to model a healthy lifestyle for my little guy. Not necessarily the healthiest choices always, but a better balance.2 -

@morgansfancher Wow, my motivations? There are so many. I will share the most important ones as the other ones (looser clothing, looking more fasionable, confidence etc) are more obvious. I want to stave off health issues by getting rid of obesity from my life. I want to lower my glucose numbers and medications as I know the damage to my kidneys, eyes etc. is happening every day that it is not in control. I want to lower my risk of breast cancer return as my cancer was estrogen fed. Estrogen is stored in the fat cells after menopause so the more fat cells, the more food (estrogen) to feed the cancer. And I want to live a long life as I am caring for my (now adult in his 20's) autistic son who needs me for as long as possible.
Thank you for asking about my motivations. Reading back over them, I know today will be a spot on day. How important could donuts really be in light of my motivations? I can't promise that I will always be perfect (especially away from home when food is more out of my control), but there is NOTHING that is more important. I need to post these motivations on my fridge!4 -

Weight in blue makes me blue because itโs a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because itโs a loss. Weight in black means no change.
09/01-198.8-(Trend Weight: 199.8)-
09/06-196.8-(Trend Weight: 198.9)- I just noticed that from (basically) the start of last fall 2021 to the end of the Michigan winter in 2022, I gained 12 pounds! I CANNOT let that happen again! In fact, I am STILL NOT BACK DOWN to where I was on Sept 19 which was 187.6 . 10 more pounds to lose just to break even. How sad. On a good note, I am starting to feel my hip bones poking out. They are still in there afterall.
09/13-195.8-(Trend Weight: 198.8)- I managed to pull off an overall loss this week with a big overnight drop. I had plenty of travel this past week and that made the week extremely challenging. Iโm really trying and some days are just much easier than others. I can stay away from the restaurants most of the time when Iโm at home. But when Iโm on the roadโฆโฆโฆ.

Seeing that number on the scale go down each week is what motivates me right now. I know that at some point it will stall and then I'll have to dig deep for some other motivation but right now....that number dropping is all the incentive I need to keep going. Finally out of the 300's and into the 200's!! woohoo!!!

Trying this again for like the 10th time. lol I've found these challenges helpful and great when I actually post and reply to others but tend to fall off the wagon here and there which makes it difficult to maintain weight loss. So here's to trying again. Looking forward to this Sept challenge and seeing everyone's progress.
We can do it!

It only takes a few treats to screw my weight loss up, but I will say my binging is becoming less and less in volume but its till does drastic damage. Also someone said pregabalin will make me gain weight as well as the steroids I need to look it up.

*I just finished a 70km hiking trip so we shall see if that weight stays off๐ . Iโve been dealing with health issues for the last 2 years and only just recently think I connected to whatโs going, finally! Lots of life adjustments lately so Iโm hoping being apart of this group will help me remain focused.
I hope everyone is having a great week!

I apologize for the silly question but is there an actual โjoin groupโ button? Right now this group is bookmarked and thatโs how I find it to come back to.
