Hi all! My name is April. This is my first time using the community forum to post about me. I originally joined MyFitnessPal in late 2017 and within the first year and a half lost over 50lbs! Enter the pandemic... As an acute care nurse, the first and second waves of the pandemic took its toll on my mental and physical health. My energy was constantly drained, and I was no longer interested in many things, including my fitness. In little more than a year I gained all the weight back plus some. I am happy to say that I am now back on track and looking forward to starting (and sticking to) this journey again.5 -

I did a lot of reading up on the newsfeed articles about how to enjoy the holiday without overindulging. I kept myself to just one cocktail at each party and before the main meal I filled my plate with salad and waited for 20 min before I went in for the heavy meals so that I would get full faster. I was hoping to just stay weight neutral but did not imagine I would lose anything over the holidays! Now that the hard part is over, I am confident I can stay the course with my weight loss journey.3 -

72 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...
...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.

I've gained about 4-5 pounds over the last 3 months between vacation/traveling/holidays/etc. But the main culprit has been not tracking everything I eat for at around half of that time. January is always a great motivator since it seems the whole world is trying to kick start their health journey, but I'm trying to get a jump on it these last few days of December.3 -

Hit my first plateau in a while this week. Still met my goal so I am optimistic I can keep it going. Happy that I was able to keep from gaining during the holidays, especially considering all the parties and temptations. I am looking for any suggestions regarding high fiber/protein low fat snacks? This is where I struggle, I cannot seem to hit my protein or fiber goals without going over my allotted amount of fat.6 -
