Kylia ... Happy Birthday!
Lanette ... thank you for Dr. Li's YouTube video ... very interesting information in there. Besides his book, have you taken any of his "classes?"
Lisa ... I popped on over to your blog. I really do like the way you write!
Cold, cold, cold here today. Son is back at work with a mask on. Later today we may take some personal supplies up to my mother's facility, but won't visit with her. Just a drop-off at the front desk. My husband is officially mask-free, but, like my son, I'm still in the post-quarantine masking period.

Rebecca Yes my husband drives, but I like going to town by myself. Much more economical (he is a spender) and I like the quiet! He does not drink and drive, which I am very thankful for.
Word of the year: APPRECIATE; today I appreciate the crisp cool air of my morning walk.
#2 Practice fairness today by putting yourself in someone else’s shoes: I did this with a camper who I received complaints about. I put myself in his shoes when speaking with him. He was a very lonely man who only had his dogs (one barking, one loose) and the people he meets at campgrounds. Made me more compassionate when talking to him about the dogs.\

Well my official Friday weigh-in is up 1.7 pounds from last Friday. Something is not right. Although this is familiar, I usually gain first before I lose.
I keep my diary set at 1100 calories, but if I exercise I often eat back some. I've been exercising about 300 calories a day. Maybe it's time to check my food portions.

Not sure if I will walk today or not. Not feeling it. Has been raining off and on and supposed to be raining during the time I usually walk, asthma is kicking in so think it is time to pull the nebulizer out again. Will make sure I take it with me when I go to mom's this afternoon. Haven't packed anything yet but that doesn't take too long. Just feeling really tired. Need to keep the asthma under control. The past two winters I ended up with it out of control and on the nebulizer every four hours for five weeks. The first year was asthma and Covid at the same time(thankfully the asthma was already acting up before I went to my parents the day dad passed away- I was stuck up there for two weeks and I am sure I would have been in the hospital if I didn't have the machine with me- it was a very scary time)
I will be at mom's until at least Sunday evening, most likely Monday morning. Another storm is supposed to hit on Sunday but not sure what time. Depends on who you listen to if it will rain or not.

Weight up 2+ lbs this morning. Oops, iphone in pocket
Rebecca, thanks for explaining. Yup, respecting your DH’s condition is way more important than any vacation.
Pip, Ouch poor Lucy! (very cute in new booties) Thanks for the explanation. Fingers X’d the quick will continue to recede.
Debbie prayers continue and amping up for Destiny.
Annie when the scale is stuck, sometimes measurements can be encouraging. Keep up the good work! One of the best investments I’ve ever made in myself is a good food scale and the time to use it.
Heather today will be a red wine day for me. Cheers! from another lively old dog.
Happy birthday Kylia! Kileagh’s apple certainly didn’t fall far from your tree! How old is she? And tell your biggest bear “Well done!” from us all.
Carol the “May your coffee…” meme.
Rita understand about DH being a spender. One of the many reasons we shop separately
Oh Barbie, that meme is a powerful take on the “law of attraction.” Just put Complaint Free World on library hold.
Debbie ashma AND Covid? So scary, but at least you were there with your Mom during that sad time. Hope this weekend with Mom is restful.
High wind warning forecast. Did two loads of laundry last night, and started another this morning, in case the power goes out. Hoping for a break in the weather for taking dogs down to the powerline meadow but if not, have rain pants , leaky/stained rain jackets.

DH's twin sister, who he discovered he had in his late 40s, (they were adopted into different families), has been deteriorating for a while. Beginnings of dementia and lack of confidence. He heard this morning that she had fallen two weeks ago and broke her arm. She is now in a 'recovery' facility. Obviously, this is upsetting for him. He has posted a card to her daughter's house.
It has always been a complicated relationship, because her husband is such an unattractive character. He bullied and undermined her for the whole of her life since she married him at the age of 18. DH couldn't stand the man, so our contact with her has been intermittent and mainly when she could visit us in London. For quite a while she has been difficult to have a conversation with on the phone.
I know DH has lots of sad thoughts about the situation. Not the least that her life was so subscribed. She does have two children, and two grandchildren and a great grand child.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

The scariest part was the nights, laying there, hoping the asthma didn't get worse because it would take a minimum of 15 min to get into the closest hospital and it was about full- the closest Kaiser was over half hour away, down the back country road. I could barely get out of bed, let alone drive myself down to the hospital if I needed too. Mom was there but she had Covid too. It took two weeks to feel I had enough energy to drive the hour fifteen min home. Came home and went straight to the couch and stayed there for another two weeks.

When I learned to drive at 50, it was to help get Lee to the doctors etc. Now after transplant, he is more comfortable driving, than dealing with the stress of my driving. Sadly, learning that late in life, I don't have the instincts as a driver, more as a passenger. So each time getting behind the wheel, things a normal driver would do instinctively, I have to consciously think about. So that fact alone, I let him drive, for however long that may be. When he can't drive due to eyesight, or illness, I guess I would arrange other transport. 🙃👍🏻
I am glad you get out and about by yourself. Time apart from a spouse is helpful in marriage health I think.
Enjoy your sun!

You Oregon coastie be safe! We still get the "Astorian" newspaper so we have been seeing all the weather kerfuffles and power outages! Plus two whales washed up on shore at Peter Iredale ship beach. Just crazy weather!
Here on Whidbey its windy and in the high 30's outside. We have been doing good power wise so far (knocking on wood now).

Barbie--Thank you for getting us started on the new month. I am caught up to Feb and happy to be here with all of you.
Lisa--I have been having bad leg and toe cramps and the doctor decided it was one of my meds so stopped taking that and it got better for a while now getting them. Usually in the evenings when I am trying to relax or when I go to bed. Have had them wake me up in the night, one night it was about every hour. I take potassium, eating bananas. I have started rubbing my legs with biofreeze roll on pain meds at night and so far is better.
Allie--Kids city looks fun and Miles looked very happy to be there.
Tracey--So happy that you got to spend time with your mom. Sorry about the mess your inlaws are in. Pray that you all were able to figure it out and to their benefit.
Sue--Happy Birthday. Hope you had a great time.
Debbie--Saying prayers for Destiny.
Kylia--Love the bears! Happy Birthday.
Katla--Hope you and DH are feeling better. Sure hope you are not getting the flu.
Heather--Sorry to hear about DH sister. Family come with so many layers and twists and turns.
I am all caught up. I agree about doing the best we can. Seems every time I set goals I end up jinxing myself. I am down 1.2 pounds for last month. Not alot but better than a gain and it is a work in progress. As for exercise since the problem with my knee I am concerned about going back to gym. Going to make an appointment with PT ( we can have one free evaluation a year) and see what they say and then talk to my doctor about ordering it for me.
Going to be another busy weekend. Going to Omaha tomorrow to support our DGD in swing singing. Then Sunday after church our CMA group is doing the meal at Salvation Army. I have about 10 people lined up to help so should go well. We usually serve about 75-100 people. Our group does this twice a year. First Sunday in Feb and Nov.
Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND, NE5 -

I ate 1052 calories today, with 81g of protein. Yay! Let's see if I can keep that up. I have a very sedentary life outside of my intentional exercise. Tonight is yoga and aerobic walking.4
-
Elliptical - 28 minutes.
Vicki - I take potassium daily as well. Bananas here range from pea green and hard as a rock to nearly brown, which makes me gag; it is really hard to find ones that are edible. Unfortunately, if you do buy the green ones, they seem to go from green to rotten without getting edible in between. However, I'm concentrating right now on adding fiber into my diet too, and luckily, some of the fiber sources also supply potassium, like sweet potatoes, white beans, and regular potatoes. I love any kind of potatoes, so that's helpful, and made a cassoulet the other night with white beans.
Heather - So sorry about Johnny's sister, so much emotion invested in people we just want to love, and such pain on all sides instead. You both look like you were having a good time, glad you had a great date night!
Katla - It's good to see you enjoying your time with your DH.
Kylia - Your namesake is a beauty, much like her grandma!
Leftovers for dinner, so no real effort needed on my part. Pleased to have gotten on the elliptical at 3:15 pm. I don't know why the afternoons always seem to be tougher. But for today, it's a good thing. I've accomplished a few things, laundry, a loaf of fresh bread from frozen, cleaned out Egg's box, put the dishes in the dishwasher away... just small things that fall by the way when I don't feel well. It was a good day.
Love y'all,

Mood booster. Using a filter to slap on lots of makeup. #1 its cheaper than actually applying, and less messy. Plus no scrubbing before bed. I sent to husband as a laugh.
Course I look really handsome with a beard too, so there's THAT.
Ooh and the Alaskan Cod truck is in the neighborhood! Hoping that might be dinner tonight.🤗😁

Does having a last fattening meal before committing to getting healthy again really work or am I fooling myself? I need a good nights sleep and some powerful motivation for the morning!5
