update: her ct shows that the places that she had radiation on has less activity. But the one rib that they didn’t do radiation to has grown.. and her one that had no activity in her hip since July is now showing that it is active again.. .. and she has some type of fluid it her leg that is showing some activity ( hopefully it nothing)
Also, found out that she need to get a transfusion because her hemoglobin is down to 7.7
this is the latest update from Destiny's mom on the new FB page she started9 -
Sleepy day, without accomplishing anything much . This area is still coming back from the previous ice coatings, and unexpectedly got a break and the forecast ice storm missed us last night. The storm slid through about 20 miles south of us, missing us completely, but more than 60,000 people are out of power right now in south central Arkansas.
Just an aside:If you're looking for me, I'm writing over at my blog more these days at suddenhedgehogs dot com. Please note that's not a demand, it's just information and doesn't imply that you're expected to do so. Even though I don't make money off it, the powers that be here tend to get cranky if we put links in the threads. Don't hesitate to add comments there.
Off to bed...
Love y'all,

I did my dumbbells. Thirty reps took me an hour and forty-five minutes. I feel like I made it through on sheer habit, because I'm still discouraged over the lack of weight loss. If I can keep my good habits going through the moody days, I will eventually get the scale moving.

We had such a great day/evening yesterday. The Painting Pottery Cafe went really well and we raised a glass to my friend L , who is celebrating what would have been her 30th anniversary with her partner who died last year. I told her beforehand I would remember him and sent her a photo. She was touched.
Looking forward to seeing how our pots turn out!
Then we got on the bus and visited our old haunt, the boutique brewery. We haven't been there at all this year, since the family moved. While we were there I informed DH about the letter my ex had written to me and that I had replied that morning by email. He was surprisingly unbothered.
Then we went to Shandiz for our usual kebab etc. Wine! A very good evening, but we arrived home a little/lot merry! Sat through an old Midsomer Murders without taking any of it in!
Slightly worse for wear this morning, but it's good to remind ourselves there is life in the old dogs yet!

On the other hand I weighed myself and my current spurt of exercise did me no good. So I ate three servings of chocolate. Now I'm in remorse mode, and I don't have enough calories left to fit my mango shake. Oh well, there will be days like this.

According to some information (although I think there is a little bit of question regarding this) ...
1 pound = 3500 calories
Therefore, if you want to lose 1 lb, you need to be in deficit to a total of 3500 calories.
In my case, my maintenance calories are about 1500-1600 calories. My net calories need to be lower than that to lose weight.
So if I want to lose 1 pound in 2 weeks, and I don't do any exercise for the next 2 weeks, I need to eat about 1250 calories a day, every day for the whole 2 weeks.
1500-1250 = 250 calories * 14 days = 3500 calories.
For me ...
• Walking 1 hour at 5 km/h = about 200 calories burned.
• Cycling 5 km = about 100 calories burned. I usually cycle at least 15 km/h so that's at least 300 calories per hour.
• Climbing up and down 5 flights of 20 stairs, including landings = about 30 calories.
• Rowing for 15 minutes = about 140 calories.
• Lifting weights (without breaks) for about 15 minutes = about 65 calories.
• Pilates for about 30 minutes = about 125 calories.
• Yoga for about 30 minutes = about 100 calories.
So, if I want to lose that 1 lb in 1 week instead of 2 weeks, I need to eat 1250 calories per day AND exercise 250 calories per day for 7 days.
One day, I might hike up 10 flights of stairs and walk for an hour.
Another day, I might cycle for an hour.
Another day, I might do Pilates for 30 minutes and lift weights for 30 minutes.
Another day, I might row for 15 minutes, lift weights for 15 minutes, and do Pilates for15 minutes
And so on to equal at least 250 calories per day.
I also need to have a lot of patience because the body will throw curve balls into the equation!
Exercise, heat, sunburn, travel (esp. air travel), salt and all sorts of things can cause us to retain water.

Feel Good Feb and/or Exercising the Alphabet in FebruaryFeel Good Feb

Exercising the Alphabet in February
In other words, on February 1, you'd walk to a street that starts with A or do an exercise video hosted by someone whose name starts with A or something ... A.
On February 2, you'd go swimming at a Beach or play a game of Baseball or something ... B.
On February 3, you'd go Cycling or Climb some stairs or something ... C.
and so on.
There are, of course, 26 letters in the alphabet and 28 days in February, so you'd have 2 free days if you didn't exercise those days or couldn't fit in the next letter of the alphabet.
I have listed several January highlights so that meets the calendar suggestion for February 1...
And I walked to the Asian "dollar store" next to the Asian grocers and bought Art supplies at lunch today. That'll be my A.
Put myself in someone else's shoes ... I've been treating my difficult work colleague with kindness by talking to her about her son, complimenting her skirt, talking quietly and gently to her and so on.
And today, I walked to Bathurst Street to Buy some Books. I also climbed stairs in my Building.
Watch a movie that reminds me of kindness ... probably not tonight!
C is for Climbing and walking on Collins St!

that is what we have here. LOVED going to the ones in Osaka. They were huge! So fun to check out
No. There aren't any of them in Tasmania.
It's called Star Value and it's just a run-of-the-mill shop with a couple branches. But they're closing down their Hobart shop and everything is 40% off so I've picked up all sorts of colouring and art supplies ... and decorative rocks!Machka— Putting yourself in someone else’s shoes is smart and also kind. I hope your difficult colleague will respond positively to your compliments & gentle comments. 🌸. I love your art. 💕
Thanks!
Unfortunately my difficult colleague is still difficult.😊 I miss my friends in Oregon, but I have been able to stay in touch with many. I have been able to stay in touch with dear friends thanks to the internet. ❤️
I'm glad you're able to stay in touch with your friends.

Good Friday Morning!
The dancing was wonderful! I think the one thing that really stood out was the beauty of the girls dancing that aren't what is socially considered as having a dancer's body. The strength and delicacy in their moves were amazing. It was a long night but I am happy I got to go!

My bears are so creative! Brown bear used a card that came in the mail from a local jeweler! Grey bear said that Papaw told him no gifts, but he couldn't help himself! My DH can be so funny and thoughtful!
I walked at the Ballet for B yesterday and even did some ballet at the barr at dance school. I try to think about other people's situations often. I was only a few steps short of 7000 goal-Yay!
Today is a good day! I am tired, but excited to be going to dinner with friends after work tonight.
I love being here with you ladies! You offer so much encouragement and great advice!
Machka Love the Productivity reminders!
HeatherUK Sounds like a wonderful date night!
Time to get ready for work. Wanted to share before the day got away from me.
Say something nice and encouraging to yourselves today! You are STRONG, SMART, BEAUTIFUL, and CARING!

Annie- Your comment about the treats made me laugh, because I sabotage myself this way often. BUT REMEMBER! Muscle weighs more than fat! You are building muscle. You probably will have weeks where you don't lose anything, or you may gain a pound or two. BUT give it a couple weeks, keep making the healthier choices (food/movement) and you will see the weight come off. Hang in there! Don't listen to the whispering of the treats!3

Morning ladies
Here with Miles ,who is on his first nap..we are supposed to be bitterly cold for the next couple days..
Amazingly I stepped on the scale and have lost 2 lbs..im sure its water weight,But I'll take what I can get.
I did have hot chocolate yesterday and I think as I have gotten older that dairy doesn't really agree with me.
Cheese I can do. But am learning moderation..
Also im going to look into the meds I take to see if any of the side effects are weight gain.5 -
Happy Birthday, Kylia! Well done for your husband, too... So sweet.1
