What Mini Goal is motivating you right now!

I'm so happy with how far I've come in the last month. I'm feeling so much healthier and happier! In February I'm ready to change up and increase my exercise. I'm definitely more toned. My "mini goal" is to continue to listen to my body and heart. To see additional improvements and continue my motivation and excitement as I continue to make exercise a lifestyle change and permanent habit. 😊7

To consistently exercise & honestly track my calories for the month of February. It’s only 3 more weeks😁10

To finish my first week of Couch to 5K

My husband and I are going to England in May. My goal is to have lost 20 lbs by then... already have lost 8 pounds, almost halfway there with almost three months left before we leave!10

Since this is a mini goal, exercise daily for at least 15 minutes for all of February. Depending how I feel I will increase in March, but it will still need to be low impact for my bad knee.11

This didn't start out as a mini goal at all......but thru slowly changing my eating habits since post Christmas....I inadvertently achieved one.
I occasionally buy a chocolate bar on impulse...not often...usually at the drugstore and maybe 12-15 times a year. Three days ago I popped into the drugstore...and decided to buy a candy bar. BUT. When I stood in front of the large display....nothing appealed to me! I actually went as far as imagining picking up my favorites and taking a bite. NOTHING! I had no desire to eat sugar! 😕
So I can proudly say I've achieved a "goal" of no longer being tempted to buy candy or baked goods!!
Mind blown! 🤯18 -
To have my horse not sigh when I get on him to corral the cattle.17

Getting into a cross-legged position on the floor, without using my hands, then next, it will be standing from said position without using hands/knees11

Personally keeping my eye on getting under 270. I'm hovering around 280 right now.
Fitness wise -> No longer feeling winded by the end of my 2.25-mile walk and reaching a 4-mile walk each day.
Mini-mini-goal for bonus points: Get my per-mile pacing to 19-21 minutes from 23-24.6 -
Does anyone else here PURPOSELY buy clothes in smaller sizes because the sale is REALLY amazing and you love the item? And you honestly feel you'll get there someday?
I have been SO consistent with my exercise since December 26th, 2022...the rewards arrive faster than I can make goals! 😀 I have a few pieces of clothing in size 8/10 or M I've had in my closet for up to two years. Yesterday I tried on a top, which lead to another, etc. Three pieces fit. Some are still a bit too small....but they almost fit. My mini goal is to fit into ALL my M size 8/10 clothes and purge my L/XL clothes this year. As I believe in consistency and not the time it takes.....my time limit is simply this year. I strongly believe I will reach it by the Fall. Dropping one size per year....14/12......10/8 for 2023.......6/4 for Summer 2024....gives me an opportunity to enjoy where I am in the Journey with a feeling of gratitude. It also gives me joy knowing there is still further improvement to come. All I need to do is stay consistent and see what happens if I don't give up this time!! 😊 It's inspiring to read so many shared joys in this thread!! Every goal.....achieved or striving for is life changing! Focus on one day at a time....have a back up plan to move every day for ten minutes....and tell yourself you want to see what happens if you DON'T give up. Imagine if you had decided to stop trying to walk after falling when you first started? You instinctively knew NOT to give up. You didn't set a goal of walking by your 12th or 14th month. 🤣 Tap into that!! Let the process happen.13 -

This is also a goal of mine! I want to be able to get up and down off the floor without using my hands! A year and a half ago I could not get off the floor without crawling to a piece of furniture to help me, so I have been thinking about this quite a bit recently and plan to start working toward it.8 -

Yes!! I do! Especially if it's a really good sale. The jeans I am currently wearing was purchased on a black Friday sale a size too small. Actually I was bearly able to zip up a size 10, but they were out of the 10 in a short, so I bought an 8 instead. They were really more than a size too small! I have often bought the next size down over the last 18 months of losing weight.3 -

Sorta. Or more accurately, I'll buy jeans that are the last size I bought, despite me knowing that the ones I'm currently wearing (and are already tight) are worn/broken in/stretched. And so of course they don't fit.
However... Over the last few months I've dropped enough weight (and 6 inches) that I'm now able to wear jeans that I bought years ago, which is awesome. My wasting waist is wasting money, as I'm retiring practically new but too large jeans. I can live with that

I actually have a few. I have considerable weight loss to achieve, mine are sticking to my fitness pal. I have 10 pound increment goals and then my mini yet big goal is getting under 200.6

Im a 48-year former minor league baseball player. Still play in a Men's Adult baseball league. Our season starts March 19th, and I am soooooo far away from being player ready. If I stick to my goals, I won't be player ready (at least to the level I want to be) until Sept. But small steps along the way will get me on the baseball diamond through the season to get some at-bats and some playing time at Third Base. After the seasons over, Ill be playing in Arizona for the Mens World Series in November, which is the goal. 10 games in 5 days! Played last year, but could've done better. And my weight and health were my biggest
issues. So small goals every two weeks. Right now, the goal is to not be so damn sore lol
Good Luck to Everyone!16 -
I started this year at 210 and have set my goals in 10 lb increments. For some reason nice round numbers like 200, 190, 180 seem like great targets that are not too long or short to aspire to. 200 was a great one to pass… 190, here I come!
Having to buy smaller clothes is just a nice by-product of that…10 -

Logging is remarkably helpful, even if you're not following a particular diet plan.5

So many. The overall big goal is of course to get my weight down massively (SW: 328, CW: 303, GW: 200). But mini goals?
1. Continue to be as active as I can be each day. I'm tired of slowly killing myself just by sitting around all day. Health issues be darned! I'm gonna do it! Even if it's as little as 20 minutes a day, it's a good start.
2. Keep to my calorie goals. I log each and every single thing that goes into my mouth, even if it's a "cheat" or bad for me. It's a struggle after a lifetime of binge eating which got me in this shape in the first place, but it's worth it.
3. Keeping my blood sugar in balance. I went for so long not caring that I've wound up with so many diabetic complications, and I'm hoping all of this ends up helping to reduce further damage. Maybe if I'm lucky it can even minorly reverse some of it. Thankfully for the past couple of weeks now I've been staying right within my goals of keeping my glucose under 120 mg/dl, with bedtime and fasting usually under 100 mg/dl.
4. Mini-weight goal is to get under 300 by my next NP visit in April.9 -
No late night snacking for the month of February. Day by day . Month by month .10
-
Current goal is to no longer need to take blood pressure meds.11
-
To reach 50lbs lost. Only about 5lbs shy of that.10
-
To get into the next 5 down. I don't do bigger than that number any longer ... cause I like more frequent 'goal attained' mood lifts that I get with smaller numbers ... it takes me so long to get there I lose steam when I set big goals.9
-
My mini goal is to be 10 lbs lighter by the end of April.6
