Hello my name is Darlene. My husband and I retired in 2020, but he returned to work in January. I thought it was the perfect time for me to put me first for a change, and decided to make 2023 the year that I take care of me. I vowed lose weight, get healthy, give up some bad habits, exercise, read more, etc. There is a linear trail in my backyard that I had thought about completing for a long time - it runs 60 plus miles in Connecticut. I started the journey on January first and completed it on February 22 - 62 miles (a few miles at a time). With that completed, March was a hard month - I need something else to keep me motivated, so I thought let's give a challenge on myfitnesspal a try. Signed up for a couple of others - am hoping they keep me accountable!

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.
04/01-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- I woke up today in quite a depressed state. I am bothered that my normal routine has been so very disrupted. I realized I have not even gotten dressed since Thur morn when I had to travel. I am still bloated and am quite sure I have put on a few pounds while going through all of this medical drama. Even with the medication change, my bp was down way too low again yesterday and I couldn’t get any fitness in because of it. Food is not the answer and does not solve the problems! I ate things I shouldn’t have mixed in with good pre-planned choices but the in-betweens threw me out of plan. I am a mess. I will work on myself today though it is babysitting day again. That will not leave much time for me but I’ll do my best. Tomorrow (Sunday) is a rare free day this week. No babysitting and no drs appointments. Tomorrow I can really focus. I’ll be back to travel on Monday. In the meantime, I am logging my food and going to youtube to find some positive affirmations that I can listen to (and repeat). I really need them today.

Lets go for another month! I'll only be weighing in til the 27th as I am going on vacation then until May 8th!
SW (feb 26th 2023)- 387lb
March SW- 381lb
April SW- 364lb (-16lb)
April target- 355lb
I wanted to originally put 350lb but I don't want to disappoint myself. Realistically, 14lb in less than 4 weeks is just unnecessary pressure... but If I lose just about 3lb a week, get me closer to my target, I will be happy!

My name is Paula Jones and I am fed up! I am a mother of 3 kids and married to my husband who I’ve been with since September of 2000. I used to be EXTREMELY fit since my time spent serving our country in the US Army. I am now an obese 100% service disabled veteran experiencing a variety of health related issues primarily resulting from my weight and I have finally reached a point where I can’t take it anymore so I am taking a firm stand. I WILL lose and am losing this weight since I started going at my goals hard Feb 9. I have seen favorable results so far with my current strategy which is a combination of Noom, GOLO, and Intermittent Fasting (IF) with revolutionary changes being made to how I eat, what I eat, and why I eat. I weigh myself every day and tape various locations of my body once a week to help hold myself accountable and establish a way to thoroughly measure my progress. I start including physical exercise today and will be going to the gym to start up some cardio at the very least. Let’s do this! Huah!
Goals for April:
Workout cardio at least 3x/week (min 20 min) 🦵🏾🫀🏃🏾♀️
Strength training at least 3x/week
(min 20 min) 🦾🏋🏾
Reduce sugar intake to 6 g/day 🦷👩🏾🍳
Start meditating again more at least every other day for a minimum of 10 min/session 💆🏾♀️🧘🏾♀️
Start weight: 245.2 lbs
Goal weight: 195 lbs

04/02-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- I am back to logging my food (something I CAN do), but my bp has been dropping off and on to bad levels again and I am back to tracking for the doctor and doing minimal exercise while we monitor it. I will still go to cardiac rehab, but mainly for class time with education, not necessarily much exercise because of my issues right now. I am going to continue to not weigh in until I am authorized to have a shot at this with some calorie burning too. I am still hoping to have achieved my mini-goal of 188.4 by Easter. I am not sure what day we are planning Easter dinner yet (children’s in-laws have plans too). I usually give up the actual Sunday for the working in-law families and change my dinner date. Whatever day that is (maybe the day before on Saturday?) is the day I will do my mini-goal weigh in (if all goes well on the health field). Anyhoo, I wish each and every one of us the best of luck in reaching our many different and varying goals this round. You all continue to fascinate me, inform me, teach me and amaze me!
