Morning all, I tracked yesterday, can't say my eating was great. I haven't exercised. I just can't seem to find a time I am on my own to do this. Either the baby needs something, or the 4 year old..or it's late and I am too tired. I am praying for a "habit" that I can co partner with to keep me moving.

@theslightedgeforever I only want to walk, not all those other fancy moves you do. LOL. Do you remember when I was in HS, I used to twist from side to side, 100 times every night. LOL Thought it would make my waist smaller.

@senoritafloridita Glad you are down to 1 job...2 jobs is just plain hard. Congrats on the loss of weight since you have been on your journey.

@trooworld So sorry for your migraine...stay in bed..get over it and life will be much happier for you! :). Work can do without you for one day. But DH can't do without you.

    Cbabie

Thank you so much! And I hope you can just take a breather. Some “you” time. Where you can maybe reimagine your goals.

@trooworld How's the migraine? It's so hard to function and make good choices when your head hurts. Cute doggy pics.

@cbabie ready for my 2 cents. :D You said either the baby needs something or the 4 year old. YOU need something too. You need to move your body so you don't die and then what's going to happen to the baby and 4 year old. So put the baby in the stroller and walk. Outside or in a mall. Strap on the baby in a snuggie and walk with Leslie Sansone in your living room. The 4 year old can walk too or you find some kind of art project or something that she can only have when it's exercise time. A good skill to learn is independent play. My personal favorite is teaching her it's exercise time. Maybe you can buy her an exercise outfit so she has to go change into it, put on her shoes, fill up her water bottle, and exercise. When her attention lags, you just say, keep going, I have to keep going til it's done and point out the time to her. We've got 10 min left. You can do it. Eventually over time it will become a habit for both of you. It's a good habit to grow up with. We never had those role models.
I remember you doing those windmill exercises and then we must we must we must increase our bust. :D

@senoritafloridita Keep up the good work on your weight loss. 20 lbs is great. The big race is almost here. What does CICO stand for?

@gemwolf110 How is your mom doing with her recovery? How are YOU doing with all this? I gained 15 lbs when my mom was first diagnosed. None of my stress eating helped her one bit.

So some good choices I made today. I did a set of my challenge exercises when I woke up. I did 30 min of dance cardio and 27 min of stretching. No junk food as of now. Hubby wanted to have burger/fries for lunch. Instead we picked a different place and I had keto baked meatballs with cauliflower rice. He had sweet and sour chicken with veggies and rice. Although he complained portions sizes was too small. I said that's the proper portion size you are supposed to eat. You've just been eating too much. :# Water is up from yesterday.

Here's a good article about mushrooms. Since alot of us need to add more veggies into our lives. Don't like mushrooms? Maybe you haven't found a good way to eat them yet. One of my goals this year is to find a "coffee" that I like. I always say "I don't like coffee". Maybe there is a flavor out there I've never tried yet.

    https://blog.myfitnesspal.com/delicious-recipes-that-feature-mushrooms/

Thank you so much! And yep, the half is almost here. CICO is calories in and calories out, I see it referred to a lot on Reddit.

And that’s great about your exercise and healthy eating routine! I love dancing to work out. The just dance game is awesome, now I guess there’s so many more workout games too.

Hi all. Not only did I not lose a pound, I gained 3.2 lbs. for the month of April. It's disheartening to not even be able to lose a pound in a month.

    Water yesterday: 75 oz

My phrase for the year: "Every choice is another chance to change my health for the better."

Oh that is frustrating. I know for me, the scale didn’t move until I both cut back on calories and did some intermittent fasting. And today is our treat dinner but I’ve started skipping lunch on these days. I have started skipping breakfast too. But I don’t do the whole nothing but water for 16 hours thing. like I’ll have coffee in the morning with milk and cream but then nothing else until lunch.

Hi all, I’ve taken a day in the bush. Have to be really careful cause of my feet, but loving sitting by the fire. Cant wait for lunch - it’s just noodles but everything is better cooked over fire 😊

@trooworld yeah it’s what you suggested - the plantar fascia….thing. It’s getting less painful but I only walk on my toes now, which I know you’re not sposed to get into the habit of doing, but I figure if I can heal it this time I’ll know what to look for regarding warning signs next time it flares up and it won’t get so bad. I wish I could do that not-hungry-so-didn’t-eat thing. I just eat all the time regardless 🙄. I have noticed that even though I’m really not doing well overall food-wise, I have noticed that the kinds of foods I reach for has changed so that’s a win - and kind of a significant win in that it shows a wider “lifestyle” change in the right direction, which makes me happy.

    Good Morning 😃☀️🌞

It’s a rainy Sunday here. Going to get some cleaning/organizing done. Shopping for Mother’s Day maybe today. Worked out with my sister yesterday. I’m so out of shape. I can only use the gym that she goes to as I’m a guest. Thinking of reactivating my membership or unfreezing it at the other gym. Or transfer to another gym that has more group class options.

Mom is doing alright. Lots of pain. She’s doing to much probably. She’s the type that can’t sit still.

Grandma is doing good considering her surgery was this past Friday.

@trooworld love art festivals. Gets your steps in while admiring talent.

@Tamevv nice! Yes anything cooked on the fire is so much better.

    @senoritafloridita Thank you!!

@cbabie ams @theslightedgeforever hope all is well!

Hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend!

    ~ Missy

    218.6 yesterday. :disappointed:
    Goals:
Track both on WW and MFP
Exercise for 30 minutes at least 3 times a week to start.

@trooworld I wish they could find the cause of your migraines so you could preempt them. Keep practicing the plate method til it becomes habit. So shoot again for that one lb this month. Think about what you can change from last month. What lessons did you learn?

@gemwolf110 oh my goodness, I didn't know about your grandma. You really have your hands full. It's hard to have distractions on this journey. Good to hear your mom is raring to go. I hope her pain lessens. How is your goal of three times a week exercise going?

@Tamevv So sorry to hear about your feet. it's hard when the spirit is willing but the body isn't able. So keep up with the water and the tracking. Focus on food choices is even more important at this time. Your breakfast sounded really good. Except for the avocado. lol I keep trying it and still don't like it. Maybe if I chopped it up really small and didn't know it was in there I might eat it. You sound like you are headed in the right direction when it comes to food. I know for myself my quality of eating is much better but then I ask myself why am I not losing more weight. Goes back to CICO. It seems I can't get both food and exercise going at same time for more than 3 months lately.

@senoritafloridita Woohoo on the 180s. Breaking into a new decade is always fun and exciting. Close that door tight so you never go back up. CICO, got it. Thanks. I should have figured that out.

So I didn't realize it had been a while since I checked in. So I'll do better.

Hi, everyone. So the half marathon was here today at long last. It was pouring down rain all day long. And my so-called rain jacket did nothing against the rain.

But my son and I pushed on. Our spirits weren’t that great at first, but as we approach the halfway point we felt better and more motivated. We started having a great time actually. The scenery was beautiful too.

But then, only about 3 miles from the finish line, my son got an extremely painful blister and that was it. But I’m so proud of him - he braved the cold and elements so many times for long workouts this fall and winter. We had so many long talks, had time together we wouldn’t have had otherwise.

So at the first aid station we came to, I asked if someone could drive us to the finish line where DH was waiting. They made us wait about 40 minutes or so in the freezing cold rain for someone to come get us, while I was soaked through. I probably had hypothermia during that time. All the aid station seemed to care about was screaming woohoo and “we’ve got Gatorade” at the passing runners. Not about us.

But oh well, chalk it up to experience. I’m grateful for all the time my son, and I spent together while we were training for this. And after this, training for 5Ks will be a real vacation lol.

@senoritafloridita sorry to hear about the rain, blisters and the uncaring first aid person. Hopefully the next race is more of a pleasant experience.

@theslightedgeforever starting the goals this week :-) thank you! Mom has a follow up appointment this week and will find out more.

@gemwolf110 Yes, Happy May. I hope things go well at your Mom's follow-up appointment. And thanks - every race is different. I'm glad we went out there and got that far - a lot of people just turned back less than a mile in. And there were good parts of it.

@senoritafloridita Too bad about the rain. But look how many miles you did do. That is an accomplishment in itself. You set out to run a half marathon and you did. Now you know some things for next time. Poor kid. I bet that blister was awful. I've been out walking and suddenly my toe box area will just start hurting like someone is sticking knives and pins in that part. I couldn't continue and was halfway on a trail. So I would sit 5 min and walk a bit. Meanwhile dh would be saying are we stopping again. :s

@gemwolf110 Can't believe it's May already. Let's kick some butt in May.

@trooworld Yaay on partially tracking and then following up. I don't always track on the spot. Actually you just reminded me about something I forgot. lol

I'm doing well on food but not exercise. I guess I'm going to have to get up earlier and do it then first thing so no one gets in my way.

@trooworld That's great that you went back and tracked the foods - 100% better than not tracking at all. And that's great you got to sleep in. And yeah, I'm sure the non-stop rain caused his blister. Thanks, I'm proud of us - especially him. His first race! Looking forward to 5Ks after this.

@theslightedgeforever Thanks. Yeah I'm definitely glad we got out there and did it. That's too bad about your toe box area - isn't that just the worst when you're in the middle of a walk and have to go through more pain just to get back? Lol about your DH. Mine says stuff like that sometimes too. And that's good you're doing well on food right now. I'm sure you'll work some more exercise in soon.

    Hi Evamutt.

The scale has been up since the race but I guess it's probably my body being a bit swollen. Scale is going back down at least. I also ate a bit more this weekend but I'm back to skipping breakfast. I'm also still limping around after the race. I had injured my left foot in February and it's still flaring up. Might have to get it checked out soon - I thought it would just heal on its own. The morning after the race, the pain on the underside of the foot was excruciating. Oh well, it's been improving.

Morning all, sorry won't get to many post...have another Dr appt this morning and makes the mornings rough. I lost 2 lbs last week, not sure how. LOL. When I went to the Dr yesterday their scale said I had lost another lb..but when I got home, I weighed on my scale and it was just the 2lbs. LOL Trying to move my body. I bought a treadmill that will go under something..I. just have to find that something. It will get here tomorrow night. I hope it works for me and I make it happen. I am not getting any younger. :)

I will try to be more consistent just seems the baby's schedule and mine don't mix and well we are working on that. I think I have determined I need to be a night owl and then I will get my time I am so seeking.

@Evamutt Welcome back! What goals are you working towards for May?

@senoritafloridita I think foot pain is the worst. For awhile I had plantar fasciitis on my right foot and a stress fracture across the top of my left foot. I found out I could dance but not walk very well so I began dancing for my exercise. Glad both of my feet are good right now. I think the stretching I was doing helped. But I'm not as diligent as I was so those injuries could creep back in if I'm not careful.

@cbabie Yaaay on your two lbs and getting a treadmill. Strap the baby on your back if you have to so you can walk each day. How about a kitchen table? Will the treadmill go under that? Just keep working on your program and tweak what you can.

I exercised today. Go me! :D I used to exercise 6 days a week. It shouldn't be this big of a deal. But it's done for the day. I burned my 300 cals like I planned. I added some broccoli and red peppers to our normal cheese omelet this morning. Reduced the amount of cheese. Evidently too many vegetables compared to eggs and what started out as an omelet ended up being a veggie scramble. lol Hubby's comment for the day: Oh we're eating healthy now are we? Followed by the chaser....tonight you'll be eating some chocolate. Balance, my dear, balance. Actually I did really well today with the choc. A friend of mine had given me a box of chocolates and while I have been ignoring them each day, that may not last so I was giving the rest to my mil caregiver. I kept 4 pieces for the next two weekends. A half piece broke off and I almost popped it into my mouth. But said no and threw it away. I'm trying to contain my sweet eating to the weekends. I'm hoping a little change in habit here and there will end up in some lost pounds.

Morning all, yea I made it...well I got up really early to beat the baby...LOL. he was up at 2:30 feeding and I got up at 4:20, I knew he might sleep until 6...make a plan and work it right? LOL. I ate within my calories and fat, but that's only because I was gone all day, 2 very long Dr appts. So maybe that's my key LOL

@trooworld Blueberry Chicken chopped Salad sounds good, my family wouldn't eat it..they like only veggies in a salad. glad you get to work from home...I don't know if I could go back to working in an office 5 days a week. :) I am working on consistency too!! :)

@theslightedgeforever I laughed at DH remark...I can see and hear him. LOL. yea for you on the chocolate...I am not that strong.. had my PB before I went to bed. LOL

@senoritafloridita so glad you guys got to at least be in the race, sorry that you didn't get to finish. But what an experience to share with your son. I am sure it's all about the fluid in your muscles. Great job.

@theslightedgeforever Yeah I never pretrack perfectly, I always have to add things back in. That's good that food is good. That's a good plan to get it out of the way before you can make excuses. I just read your 2nd post: go you! Oh gosh that stinker husband of yours lol. Did he like it at least? That is a smart idea to give away the chocolates.

@Evamutt Hey there! Good to see you! Congrats on maintaining! That's awesome. Yeah, we are still around!

@senoritafloridita True! Yeah, I needed to sleep in: we stayed up later than usual the night before and I knew I couldn't function if I didn't. Yay for the 5Ks! I'm sure your body is still swollen. I can't believe you did that race with a foot that is injured, wow!

@cbabie Congrats on the loss! I hope you like the treadmill. I hope you can find a balance and get your "me" time.

@gemwolf110 How is everything? How's your mom?

Hi all. I seem to track one day and then not the next. I need to get consistent. I have had a busy week and am glad I am working from home today. For dinner, we are having Blueberry Chicken Chopped Salad. I am looking forward to it.

    Water yesterday: 50 oz

My phrase for the year: "Every choice is another chance to change my health for the better."

It’s going good. Mom had her checkup yesterday. She said it went good. Grandma is doing good yay. Pups are good. Having they round of annual shots and check ups.

I hear ya I try to go back and put in what I didn’t track the day before the salad sound yummy let us know how it comes out.

I am trying to get all my appts managed, clean out closets..( I am in the purge mode) Cook better, yesterday was a bust..Little Cesars Pizza and of course bread LOL We are going the the zoo tomorrow so lots of walking around. Other than that is quiet here. Oh I want to tell you we bought baby girl a wooden swing set with a "fort" and she calls it her "park". Oh to have the mind of a child.

@trooworld Sorry your plans fell through, but glad you will be getting some well deserved rest. You know I had never heard of Cinco De Mayo until we moved to AZ :)

@trooworld Just keep working on your tracking. Happy Cinco de Mayo! I was telling my friend today she needs to organize a party for next year.

    @cbabie Did your treadmill arrive?

I went to bookclub last night. Ordered brussels sprouts and chicken samosas. No cheesecake though. We read Nutshell by Ian McEwan. It's a modern version Hamlet with the narrator being the unborn child of the main female character. It was good but different.

I exercised yesterday on the treadmill and did a sprint/hill program.

And you’re doing great with the healthy eating. Regardless of your hubs comments, don’t let him stop you. Does he have some kind of insecurity about you losing weight? 🤔🤷‍♀️

@trooworld hope you enjoyed the blueberry chicken salad. It sounds like you’re doing a lot of cooking, which is definitely a healthy thing. We’ve been away for the past two weekends, and will be away next weekend too. Weekends are the time that I do cooking for the week. So I’m looking forward to two weeks from now when I can just relax at home on the weekend for a change.

    Happy Monday All!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Had a very productive weekend. Got my yard mowed and some house cleaning done. Still plenty to do. I’ve been tracking my food in both WW and MFP last week. It’s interesting to see that one I’m within calories, while the other I’m over points. I think I need to just eat more zero point foods. And unfortunately need to cut back on the store bought ice cream. Need to figure out how to work my Ninja Ice Cream maker so I can make my own “healthier” ice cream.

Going to get more spring cleaning done this week and hopefully ready to paint my interior walls by the end of the month. Then maybe start working on that patio I always wanted after the painting is done.

@senoritafloridita love the photos! And that’s a long hike!

@trooworld love the pictures of the orangutans 🦧 sound like you had a great day!

@cbabie how is the treadmill going?

    @theslightedgeforever how is the book?

Hope everyone has a magnificent Monday!

Afternoon all, the zoo exhausted me...everyone came home and slept, except me..baby duty. Still recouping..I got up this morning to get ready for some more medical stuff and all of a sudden was nauseated and had the sweats....it is gone now, but not sure what that was. The treadmill still has not been used. was going to this morning, but the sick stomach nixed that. So we start tomorrow..LOL. Good news was I was down another 2 lbs...we will see if that remains. LOL

@gemwolf110 I have a bullet for ice cream, I should be using too...just never found a recipie I liked. so it sits.

@trooworld good for you on giving blood. I used to give all the time, and now it's a hassle for me. American Red Cross keeps calling my phone..I know I should. I had to have a transfusion years ago, so I know it's important. Hope you get rest. Love the pictures.

@senoritafloridita The view was beautiful in your pictures. I would have enjoyed that walk. I do get tired of the "city" view here. LOL

@trooworld that’s a good point about cooking more to avoid the cost of restaurants. Just about all restaurants are way too expensive nowadays. even McDonald’s! Yes, it was a camping and hiking weekend. There were shorter hikes, but against my better judgment I always like to do the most challenging one. And yes, having to go away so much on the weekends is exhausting, although we did have fun. And this isn’t even the last of it, we have an important event to go to about a hour and a half away this weekend too! 😓 it’s not really something we can get out of. Oh well, I’m looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend in two weeks. lol
