This round's daily goals:

5/2 – 147.8 lbs – It is a new round. That is the beauty of a 10-day challenge – you get to start again. I am NOT going to dwell on the last round – that will not help me to move forward. All I can do is try to stay positive and start fresh and try to make some adjustments so that I can get closer to my goals. I have adjusted my goal weight to 140 lbs, for the moment. I may move it down again, at some point, but for this round it seems like a good place to set my sights. I have been feeling overwhelmed and depressed, for some reason, for the last couple of weeks. I have felt like there hasn’t been enough time to participate in this challenge, as well as I would like. I know a few folks offered me some kind words in the last round, which I failed to recognize – thanks to all those who offered me encouragement!! It is greatly appreciated. (And yes, “Jenny food” equals frozen Jenny Craig meals.) 😊 I forget if I mentioned in the last round that my gym is bumping up the monthly fee. I am waiting for them to tell me the exact price, but I am pretty sure I am going to cancel my membership. I had purchased bands from Amazon a few months ago; I finally got hubby to get them out of the box for me. My intention is to set myself some sort of exercise plan that I can do here at home, which I will need to establish today if I intend to complete a session tomorrow, as it states on my weekly exercise plan. Today is a walk:run day, so I need to focus on making that a priority for the day. In terms of improvements for this round, I think I can identify that lack of sleep and lack of fluids may have impacted my energy last round, which in turn impacted my ability to maintain my exercise routine, which in turn impacted my mood, which in turn impacted my ability to attend work, which made me feel guilty and ashamed, which impacted my sleep… you see where this is going. Lol. Okay, we are off to a new 10 days. To all those who have been struggling of late, let’s lift one another up, and help each other to be a bit better this round than we were last round. That is all we can do.

@clprieur I am responding to you from the point of view of my mistakes, and being that I am over 60, I have had more years to experience them.
The key point I am going to mention is that this group is perfect for you in that you can share as much or as little as suits you at a given time. My participation varies from round to round and even day to day, and even with that I wish I had even more time to spend, but life happens. Whatever you do, don't walk away, even if that means even posting a "hi" with no weight. It will at least help you to remember what you are hoping to do. If you are stressed, take some pressure off. Make your goal 145 and stay there and "succeed" for however long you need. I am prone to the "walking away" mentality and did so in 2020 when various life events made me "too busy". I then put on 25 pounds. Don't be me.
Yes, you did mention the price hike on your gym. I remember reading it. One of the things I started back on 2019 if trying to have my exercise be independent from gyms, trainers, etc. I wanted this because we are constantly changing where we are, and that gym or trainer relationship can't be consistent. This was also helpful during COVID as it removed that issue. You may be really please in creating that independence for yourself.

5/2 - 123.2. This week is so exciting! First, I love it when a round starts close to the beginning of the month, feels like a fresh start! Then I found out yesterday that my new cargo ebike has arrived at the bike shop and just needs to be assembled. And Thursday we close on the sale of our rental property and hopefully get our counters installed! Super exciting all around 😊 Trying not to get my expectations too high on any front but it’s hard not to!

5/2 130.6 calories over 2000 but lots of water and very little salt. Husband made braised lamb with carrots, potatoes, shallots, and garlic for dinner. It was incredible. I had seconds of all the vegetables. Today's focused goal is to not snack between meals or after meals. Let myself feel hungry and acknowledge it and wait for meal time.

A good start to this round; back down under 140 this morning, so I aim to stay under this and hopefully lose another pound. I am fed up with repeating myself and berating myself for messing up, it’s time I really got back on track. After all I am what I eat in more ways than one, my whole demeanour is totally different when I am happy with myself!!SpoilerAchieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 130. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

5/1 140.8 - 6.95 miles walked. 242 calories over; yesterday there was lots of standing around, DH was having his last year's birthday/Father's Day gift of driving experience in Aston Martins, one of which was James Bond's iconic DB5 plus more modern Vantage. Hundreds of others there taking part too plus approx. 30 other elite high powered/classic cars, a brilliant experience for him, but as I say, lots of waiting around in queues. Disappointed with myself at the moment, I know I am what I eat; there is only me that has control of what goes into my mouth & I am ashamed that I have to keep saying that I need to get a grip. But on the positive side I am still here and still logging, today is the start of a new week, a new month, and I hope to make the next round really count.

5/2 – 147.8 lbs – It is a new round. That is the beauty of a 10-day challenge – you get to start again. I am NOT going to dwell on the last round – that will not help me to move forward. All I can do is try to stay positive and start fresh and try to make some adjustments so that I can get closer to my goals. I have adjusted my goal weight to 140 lbs, for the moment. I may move it down again, at some point, but for this round it seems like a good place to set my sights. I have been feeling overwhelmed and depressed, for some reason, for the last couple of weeks. I have felt like there hasn’t been enough time to participate in this challenge, as well as I would like. I know a few folks offered me some kind words in the last round, which I failed to recognize – thanks to all those who offered me encouragement!! It is greatly appreciated. (And yes, “Jenny food” equals frozen Jenny Craig meals.) 😊 I forget if I mentioned in the last round that my gym is bumping up the monthly fee. I am waiting for them to tell me the exact price, but I am pretty sure I am going to cancel my membership. I had purchased bands from Amazon a few months ago; I finally got hubby to get them out of the box for me. My intention is to set myself some sort of exercise plan that I can do here at home, which I will need to establish today if I intend to complete a session tomorrow, as it states on my weekly exercise plan. Today is a walk:run day, so I need to focus on making that a priority for the day. In terms of improvements for this round, I think I can identify that lack of sleep and lack of fluids may have impacted my energy last round, which in turn impacted my ability to maintain my exercise routine, which in turn impacted my mood, which in turn impacted my ability to attend work, which made me feel guilty and ashamed, which impacted my sleep… you see where this is going. Lol. Okay, we are off to a new 10 days. To all those who have been struggling of late, let’s lift one another up, and help each other to be a bit better this round than we were last round. That is all we can do.

A good start to this round; back down under 140 this morning, so I aim to stay under this and hopefully lose another pound. I am fed up with repeating myself and berating myself for messing up, it’s time I really got back on track. After all I am what I eat in more ways than one, my whole demeanour is totally different when I am happy with myself!!SpoilerAchieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 130. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

5/1 140.8 - 6.95 miles walked. 242 calories over; yesterday there was lots of standing around, DH was having his last year's birthday/Father's Day gift of driving experience in Aston Martins, one of which was James Bond's iconic DB5 plus more modern Vantage. Hundreds of others there taking part too plus approx. 30 other elite high powered/classic cars, a brilliant experience for him, but as I say, lots of waiting around in queues. Disappointed with myself at the moment, I know I am what I eat; there is only me that has control of what goes into my mouth & I am ashamed that I have to keep saying that I need to get a grip. But on the positive side I am still here and still logging, today is the start of a new week, a new month, and I hope to make the next round really count.

This round I need to reframe the way I have been thinking about calorie counting. I need to think of it as a vehicle to help me rather than thinking of it as a restriction. Another issue I need to address is that I have become comfortable with my current weight. I need to realize that to keep me healthy, mobile, and independent, I need to lose another 20 pounds.

I'm going to join in. Personally I've had a bad two years and put on 70lbs, I am only 5ft 2".
I don't have a specific goal of pounds to lose this round, just want to get my 10K steps in per day and stick to my calories. Lets see how it goes....
