7/2 - 189.4 - bad day. Didn't track, didn't wear Fitbit most of the day 1,894 steps (69,618 left) 1 Floor (70 left), 5 Zone Minutes (386 left). Water not tracked. Smoke and bad air quality was back.. Spent the day baking donuts and watching TV, not great.
7/3 - 190.4- good day, didn’t track my food that well . Strength training completed, 6,902 steps (62,716 left), 5 Floors (65 left), 31 Zone Minutes (355 left).
7/4 - 191.6 - overall good day. Didn’t track food or water I really need to get this on lock. Rest day from strength training, muscles are sore from the other day. 9,443 steps (53,273 left), 3 floors ( 62 left), 31 Zone minutes (324 left). I listened to 2 episodes of the coaches cup podcast. Took Farley for a walk last evening, we didn’t go as far the other day but we got out and he had fun
7/5 - 190.4 - average day, it got a little hot in the afternoon and the smoke was really bad again from the fires. I finished tracking my food this morning. I was over for my calorie count. My water was little low, still need to work on that. 8,752 steps (44,521 left), 4 floors (58 left), 81 Zone Minutes (243 left). Farley and I didn't get out for our walk due to the air quality. I did a new strength training workout. Found it on YouTube Senior Fitness Seated Dumbbell Workout For Beginners | 20 Min, it is part of a workout series Senior Fitness with Meredith. I think that I am going to continue to use this one.
7/6 - 189.8, not the best day. Started out really good, but then the pull of my chair and cheese pleasures got to me. Thinking that maybe I should throw out my chair or at least make it so that I can't just sit easily. I tracked my food this morning, which is better then not tracking but I need to get in the habit of tracking as the day goes. I was just under for my calorie count, barely and in truth because I didn’t track as I ate I probably under represented what I ate. My water intake is still very low, need to work on that. 5,961 steps (38,560 left), 2 Floors (56 left), 36 Zone Minutes (207 left). Farley and I did not get out for a walk last night it was simply too hot for him. I think that I am going to have to start taking him in the morning.
7/7 - 190.0 - Did the second day of my weight workout, again at 2lbs. Thinking that on Sunday when I do it again I will increase my weight to 5lbs. Had a visit from a friend and helped him out with some computer stuff. I didn’t take any time to sit around in my chair until after dinner. My step count was horrible. I did nothing almost all day and man does it show. 3,561 Steps (34,999 left), 1 Floor (55left), 5 Zone Minutes (202 left). Farley and I did not get out for a walk again.
7/8 - 187.4 - Took Farley for a walk, we didn’t go as far because he was puling too much. Hubby's friend came over last night to play pool. I spent my evening watching Grey's. I started watching this a while ago on Netflix and only have 3 seasons left. My step count was not good but it was a stress free day. 6,985 Steps (28,014 left), 1 Floor (54 left), 36 Zone Minutes (166 Left).
7/9 - 188.4, Took Farley for a walk this morning he was much better. Came home and did my strength training video. I increased the weight from 2bs to 5lbs. Made it harder but still doable. Then I started to tackle the garage. Wow we simple have too much stuff. Had an awesome day for my stats. 11,359 Steps (16,655 left), 3 Floors ( 51 left), 81 Zone Minutes (85 left). I am not going to meet my goals for this week.
7/10 - 190.8 Day started out great. Had a doctors appointment. Going back on my anti-depressants for a while. Did some work then came home and went to bed. Just simply not feeling well at all. Hubby and youngest all felt the same way. 5,393 Steps (11,262 left), 2 Floors (49 left), 11 Zone Minutes (74left) I am going to have to work at my goals another week.
7/11 - 189.6 Today is the first day of the 10 day challenge. I woke up feeling better this morning. I am waiting on the pediatric dermatologist to call me about my daughters medication. I will then take my meds and head to the basement to do my strength training, in the past if I had an appointment I would have skipped my weight training to go get my work done first with the idea that I would come home after work and do it. That never happened so now I am going to get it done first, even if it means that I work a bit later in store during the day. Choices, it's all about choices. strength training I completed, 8,074 steps, 4 floor, 39 Zone Minutes
7/12 - 189.6 Today is going to be another long day. I have to go out early and get my stores done so that I can be home by 11 so hubby can go out. We are having an energy assessment done on our house to see if we qualify for a federal grant to get our windows and roof done. 7,170 Steps, 1 Floor, 22 Zone Minutes (Fitbit was charging while I was working)
7/13 - 188.6 Today is a day off for me. I am going to take my daughter for some blood work and myself for mine. I have an intake meeting at 10am for myself and then we get to go to Costco for camping food. 5,206 Steps, 5 Floors, 3 Zone Minutes
7/14 - 188.0 Just didn't feel great yesterday. Woke up and seemed fine, went out to water m plants and the smoke hit me and I started to fell like crap. Took my daughter to Walmart for things for her camping trip and came home and did nothing. 4,198 Steps, 3 Floors, 14 Zone Minutes **bad air quality did not do strength training

@SheilaBoneham I had to LOL at “is knitting exercise” because my daughter told me she had some phenomenal number of steps and she had been sitting and knitting all day. Her 🍎 watch was counting wrist movements as steps! So yes! Knitting IS exercise! 😂6

7/21 130.0 Yesterday was a good day although DH was in a foul mood most of it. El Pollo Loco for dinner. Tonight green bean and ground beef casserole - it’s keto friendly and he really likes it.

Mini challenge: My monthly goal is always about 5 pounds per month. HOWEVER, I never seem to make that. I will continue to keep that goal because it Should Be achievable (even though it is not for me) but never say never, right? So, Between Independence Day Holiday (July 4th) and Labor Day Holiday (Sept 4th) I will weigh somewhere, ANYWHERE in the 180’s. I don’t care if it’s on the brim. I’ve got to start getting further away from the 200’s again! Starting Weight on 7/4 is 195.4.

07/21 -194.4- (Trend weight 197.0) I kept my snack urges at bay and fit in a little bit of exercise. I’m glad the scale is responding. Key for me right now: Watch those late-night snacks! Eating later is helping. I know it puts less time between my last meal and my weigh-in but it really is keeping me from binging so far.

My foodie daughter has been here since Thur evening although working during the day. I’m been babysitting DGS Age 5. I watched my portion sizes yesterday but Pasta always shows up on the scale for me. Leftovers today. I’ll probably freeze the rest. I didn’t get any exercising in yesterday technically although I ran after him all day and went to the park for awhile with him which fulfilled lots of steps for me. I did get in some minimal strength training.

History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two “kids”, who are very much adults, a DGS, and second GS on the way. We have three parents, 88(father), 86(mother), 84(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an “all in or not” person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse. A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

7/21- (maine) 122.0 True surprise. I ate slightly over my maintenance target yesterday. But went down further. Got to Maine last night. Father is still in the hospital, at least through the weekend. Mom is in assisted living and I will keep trying to check in with her. Daughter, SIL, DGS, and their cats are joining us with our two cats in our 2 bedroom condo starting today. I will cut my time in Maine short and leave after my daughter heads home. This is her birthday weekend (32 years) and last travel before giving birth to our second grandson. Tonight, we are also entertaining a friend. He became a widower 9 months ago (suddenly) and his 80th birthday was 4 days ago. I have two small cakes for tonight so we can celebrate both birthdays.

Goal: Shoot for a healthy balance of nutritious food each day, and 80oz of water. Only write down what I eat without measuring or counting calories. I'm trying this out for size. It's not like I can't tell by now what is a healthy serving size. And, I'm hoping it makes me feel like I'm just living life while losing weight and not obsessing over every oz of food. Hi Everyone – Looking forward to my 6th challenge.

GW: still don’t know… it will be a journey… first stop, “healthy BMI,” second stop, “look good in mirror.” I sincerely hope I get there.
Goals: Continue working on same goals from previous rounds
Cardio: 8/10 days (only days I struggle with this are Sunday and Wednesday due to lack of time)
Bodyweight Train: 3/10 days <- The biggest struggle of mine currently. Really need to do this!
Logging Food: 10/10 days (using a food scale every time!)
I will be away for the end of this challenge at a family wedding… which doesn’t bode well for me at the end. I also will not be weighing in for those last few days. I am very anxious about being able to stay on track… with obvious indulgences because it’s a wedding… there will be cake… and champagne… 2 things I thoroughly enjoy. Also, no structured work out schedule. It took me from 2/27/23 until 6/15/23 to get out of the 150’s and I really don’t want to have to do that again.

About Me:This is my second round and really appreciated the last one.
Thanks to a medication I'm on for my mental health and an overeating habit, I managed to gain a lot of weight in the last year or so. On July 4, I stepped on the scale for the first time since I started the med (that is known to cause weight gain) and decided enough was enough. I buckled down and started actually recording my food for the first time in over five years and started walking every day. Now I need motivation to keep going.

7/21 - 279.4 - 1.38 miles - Had a bit of a big lunch with a Caesar chicken salad and half a sandwich and some white cheddar Cheetos. Then I had the last of the tilapia from last night (my daughter left me half a piece of fish), some brown rice, black bean & corn salsa and some other veggies for dinner. So even after all of that, I'm still like 600 calories under my goal according to MFP. I'm trying to decide if I want a couple mini ice cream cones or a handful of Cheetos. Decisions, decisions. Or maybe I'll sit in indecision until it's too late to eat anything. Who knows, but I'm so close to my first goal of 275lbs, I can taste it.
7/22 - 279.6 - 1.54 miles - Made breakfast for dinner because my grandson just loves sausage links. Had one and a half squares of waffle, 2 sausage links, 1 slice of bacon, a banana and 3 strawberries for dinner. Have no idea how many calories that is (haven't had a chance to input it yet). Back to being more careful tomorrow. I bought more tilapia (yay!) so I'm making that for dinner to finish up the brown rice and salsa from the other day (there are other leftovers for the rest of the family). Then I'm making burgers sometime next week so I'll have to plan carefully that day so I can enjoy a bacon cheeseburger and not go completely over. And despite the early morning heat, the 1.54 miles didn't feel that bad this morning. Can't wait for it to be a little cooler in the mornings (I left at like 8:45 and it was already 70F and the sun was blazing by the time I got home... it's in the low 90s right now).
