I am in ketosis and feeling great. Barely any cravings. I think the most challenging part of losing weight and maintaining a healthy diet is that other people have an emotional reaction to it. My theory is that they think I am judging them, but they are actually judging themselves. Their judgment against themselves makes them uncomfortable so they attack/compete/sabotage/avoid me. It is tricky to navigate.

08/01-193.6-(Trend Weight: 195.2)- I’ve changed my goals to 4 pounds per month instead of 5. That is one even pound per week with the half week being allowed for normal fluctuations or special occasions or travel. Seems easier and more realistic. Good luck in this new month, my friends. I hope we can all take advantage of the rest of summer and make every choice count. I’m rooting for you all!
08/07-195.8-(Trend Weight: 195.6)- This has not been a good week obviously. It contained 3 bad days: One day of travel, One day of a festival and One day of Bingeing. Day 3 was really just a craving fest after two days prior of being off plan. It’s really just easier to stick with the plan. I’m back on track now. The scale actually rose higher and I’m getting it back down but I have my work cut out for me. I just need to believe in myself and make my actions speak louder than my words.

It's a lot less intense than the Hogwarts challenge, but I really liked it too - (so much that I became a co-captain of the Desert Tortoises - YIKES). I’ve been eating a ton of vegetables out of the garden which took me out of Ketosis. I also binged on frozen strawberries and milk a couple times. Delicious!! I think my increased weight is due to water fluctuations. Still feeling great.

Hello Friends. I am pleased that the weight is finally coming off. I’m really working brutally hard at it. I’m a bit surprised that my clothes don’t appear to be fitting any looser though. I thought 12-15 lbs would have me at a size smaller, but that doesn’t seem to be the case thus far. I will continue to do my best to stay on track. This is important to me.

08/14-194.2-(Trend Weight: 195.1)- Prep cooking and pre-logging helped. But I know I could have done even better. I saw a lower drop than an increase back up to this. I must not give into temptations and I need to remember that all those foods will still be available when I’ve reached my goal. Hopefully then, better habits will be in place, less cravings, more control, better working body in regards to diabetes fat storage etc. etc. Yes, it will all still be available later, I don’t need to eat it right now. My weight loss has slowed down because I added in a water fitness class. Getting a lot more movement, and building some muscle underneath all that blubber I can feel myself getting stronger and trimmer.

I’m 76, from B.C. Canada. Have a terrible track record of never completing these challenges but committing to this one. My Life Goal is to remain fit and active well into my 80's. I love nature walks, kayaking and biking but recent arthritic and other muscle issues have been a challenge. Allowed “life” and other obstacles ( habitual procrastinator ) to interfere with a great event I’d registered for but had to withdraw from. Recognizing that I can’t ‘push through’ like I used to be able to do even 8 years ago has been hard.
My highest wt was 183; two years ago I managed to get down to 156, but then a slow backslide began. April of this year I saw 173.6 ☹ . Currently yo-yoing in the mid 160’s; Wt Loss Goal for this challenge is to lose 10 lbs and return to 156.
