@SModa61 Congrats on a beautiful DGS! What a delight it is to see that wonderful picture and hear everyone is healthy and doing well.
As a side note, you look phenomenal! I never would've known you had your invisalign in while smiling and you are simply glowing. Whether that's from pure health or simply DGS, it suits you!4 -

Sending out positive thoughts for you and love, lots of love. May you find peace each day in your heart. We ALL are living one day at a time.2 -

@SheilaBoneham FYI I will never look at Benadryl the same again, after this summer. As I have mentioned, my mother is now seeing a geriatric psychiatrist to help with dementia. First thing he spotted was her use of tylenol PM which is essentially tylenol with Benadryl added. Apparently, it is associated with cognitive issues as we get older. This psychiatrist has actually had a number of patients come in with an Alzheimer's diagnosis and, a month or so after removing the Benadryl/tylenol PM, Alzheimer's was no longer their diagnosis. He further stated that a way to "flunk your boards" is to refer to the use of diphenhydramine with an older patient. Sorry I am ranting about this, but I have not stopped since I found out my mother was using something that I have never thought as risky, but was likely damaging her. There should be a warning on the label. I do hope your reaction to the injection feels better soon. That in itself is scary stuff!
@SModa61 Wow! Thanks so much for sharing the Tyl PM info. I have been guilty of using it to help me sleep on occasion as I have notorious sleeping problems. Never again! The bottle is going in the trash! What are your thoughts on Melatonin? I don't really want to get into a prescription of sleeping pills for my occasional problems with sleep. I appreciate anyone's thoughts or info on this.
@deepwoodslady If my sharing what I learned helps one person, I will be thrilled. I confiscated ALL the bottles my parents had (several) and I was even one of the buyers for them when they asked. They are all going in the trash or maybe better yet, bring it to the medication disposal receptical. As for melatonin, my MIL uses and she is 84, and more importantly my father spoke with his geriatric PCP about sleep aid yesterday, and was told to use melatonin. From that, I am assuming it is considered safe. That same PCP, when we told him about what the geriatric psychiatrist caught, he asked where did the tylenol PM come from, and in his words "literally causes memory loss with long term use" (reading it of my meeting notes). So he also was anti-tylenols PM but has recommended the melatonin for my father. My MIL finds it helpful.
@SModa61 Thanks for the info.4 -

People say keto/LCHF isn’t sustainable. I’ve been doing it for over 6 years with amazing results!

8/20 - 155.2 - I have been logging all my food and this gain must be from sodium.
8/21 - 154.9
8/22 - 155.2 - Not enough water yesterday. I have lunch with a friend today, so I'll have to watch what I order.
8/23 - 155.8
8/24 - 154.7 - I have logged every bit of food this past week and stayed within my weight loss range. All I can do is keep drinking water and hoping for a whoosh.

Starting here, starting my day - I already feel better.Had to travel all last week for work, no scales, out to dinner, out to lunch, even food choice in morning were so limited due to time constraints. I was so nervous to weigh myself this morning, but I put on / actually took off my big girl socks and was shocked to see I was still in the 119's barely...This week is going to be about getting back to normal healthy eating.
SW:127
GW: 119 low end
MGW:118
8/20 - To scared to look yesterday
8/21 119.8
8/22 119.6 - Hot and sweaty here in Midwest...played pickleball last 3 days and sweated an unbelievable amount. Funny because had planned to eat 3 of my protein cookies for dessert last night but just drank water, I think the heat dulled my craving. As for the "Ben Franklin Effect" I have not heard of and will need to look into... hitting way to close to my home and experience.
8/23 119.4 -Nice surprise- especially as I approach my goal weight. Started my new medication yesterday was feeling little funky all day, doctor said could take 3 days to 2 weeks to normalize- but the goal was to be awake in day time and I was but not be wired which also surprising was not wired too. Sadly still woke early and did not feel well rested- - which is something I rarely feel anyways. Doctor ordered sleep study...does concur with narcolepsy diagnosis and being referred me to a specialist- so feeling blessed may have this one dysfunction managed. Then on to everything else.
8/24 120.6- Not nice surprise-funny how last several days I approached the scale hesitant thinking weight will go upland it went down- today was feeling confident and it went up- proving I as I already know I can not read others minds and now can not read my body either. No sleep last night, so feeling weary today. Was way under calories- pickleball in excessive humidity according to apple watch really burns calories, I usually do not eat after 7Pm, but because I got home at 8:30 dripping!!! in sweat- took a shower, decided to make a smoothie, hit the spot, and good hydration, and no heart burn- but wonder if that contributed to bad night sleep? It is hard now figuring out a new balance, I am working to at least 5 PM or later, so now working out in evening... Working out feels like a luxury so having trouble scheduling in morning, /I need to figure this out.

Goals: Strength training 4-5x/week; follow nutrition plan, daily log, hydrate. RGW 133.0# or under
8/20 133.2# todays plan: walk, strength train upper body, hydrate, eat per plan, no alcohol
8/21 132.4# Not sure about this measurement. Reached my goals yesterday. On to Monday - Hamstrings.
8/22 132.0# What an unexpected drop. The body always keeps you guessing. Finished today’s training early since I’ve been up since 4:30.
8/23 132.4# Finally a good nights sleep! Rest day today with just a walk. NSV - moved my belt one notch tighter this morning unexpectedly!
8/24 132.0# last summer riding lesson today. I’ll need to find a place to continue to feed my horse addiction, the next session just doesn’t fit my work schedule. Eating and training are on track, but need to push water better. Sleep is iffy this week for unknown reasons.

Hello again !!
I am Ana, 39 years old. 5'5" reaching out from Greece...Back for my third round !
Last two years I gained approximately 40 pounds (20kgr)..
Tried drastic measures to get back to track, but to no avail... So I am now taking it one day at a time, with baby steps and learning to set realistic goals! Trying to make it a lifestyle choice, rather than a punishment !!
HSW: 175 lbs (79.4 kgr)
CW 171.9 lbs (78 kgr)
GW for the 10 days 167.5 lbs (76 kgr).... two pounds per round...
UGW 125 lbs (57 kgr)
8/20: DNW
8/21: DNW
8/22: 171.9 lbs (78 kgr) Trying to cut back on the carbs overall and not just be, below my calories.. Last night I managed to finish 30 minutes treadmill 12-3-30 plus 45min of pilates... Not bad...
8/23: 172.4 (78.2) For the life of me I have no clue where those 200 grams came from.. My last meal of the day was at 15:00, packed full of protein, with less than 20% carbs. 45 minutes on the treadmill 12-3-45 ...Hmmm .. A tad frustrating but I will keep on expecting the drop... The thing that worries me is that for the next three nights we have some social outings that food is the star of the night… Hm….
8/24: 172.4 (78.2) The fact that last night, tonight and tomorrow we will be dinning out, does not help with the morning weigh-in. But I am happy and proud that even though I ate at 9.00- 9.30 last night, I made sound choices.... And I kept with the 12-3-45 treadmill routine, with an added April Hahn standing abs exercise. (I like standing exercises- even though I have an excellent matt, somehow I always opt for standing exercises.. Anyone else preferences? Or even youtube recommendations???? )

@SModa61 Such a cutie!!!! Precious... Thank you for the photo!!!
@Cchassee Are you going through a heatwave??? Those are the worst... Can't do anything.... The thing about the 12-3-30 or whatever amount of time someone manages to finish, is that for me it becomes somewhat boring and repetitive after a while... So I put either YouTube videos of favorite artists, or an episode of series that I have already seen and enjoyed...
@deepwoodslady You are in my thoughts....

I keep a word file open on my computer, and edit, cut and paste and post. Going to need to try and practice using another system for scotland as my laptop is not coming with me. The "note" idea sounds promising.3 -
@meaganmama - missing a single day, or even a couple days, on the scale is not a big deal. The more important part is the "why?". In my case, most of the time the scale is missed is because I am avoiding it, because in my heart I know I am making bad choices and am in denial. Lately, I have had some near misses because DH has gotten up early on those days and is in the bathroom with the scale. When I don't miss, it is because my routine is consistent ie I use our bathroom where the scale is first thing in the morning, and the scale is right in front of me which acts as a reminder.
@justanotherjen13 Maybe you have discussed this already, but have you gone to one of the specialty walking/running stores. When I finally did, their advice was different than what I had been choosing (ie too small, wrong sole type for my foot issues, and such)
@leni1us never too late, welcome
@anabirgite Sorry for your sleep challenges. Lack of sleep can be so impactful. I hope the meds are of help, or the study, helpful (how long have you had invisalign?)
@jaccimc63 Scale can be a tease. Mine was a jerk this morning. No explanation for the pond and a half it gave me since yesterday. Hang in there.
@camandjarvis thanks for the compliment. It's funny, I barely recognize myself these days. I used to be blond with more makeup. These days I look a lot like my younger sister, who was a dark brunette, but went natural before me.
Thank you all for the well wishes for DGS#2. Mommy and son went home yesterday. Less than 36 hours from entering in labor. For DGS#1, she was in labor 36 hours. Both are doing well! History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two “kids”, who are very much adults, a DGS, and second GS on the way. We have three parents, 88(father), 86(mother), 84(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an “all in or not” person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse. A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

8/21 – 124.8 Yesterday was within reason. Not perfect, but a sign I can get back on track.
Dealing with my parents issues and puts me in a place where I can forget self care. Friday, I find my father has been mismedicating my mother in two says which explains her request for new/additional pain meds, and the recent onset of bowel urgency. This public discovery by me then set him up to be combative the rest of the day. 2022 taxes are still not finished. So I have tasked him to spend ONE HOUR over the weekend to finish it. Saturday night (I have been calling at least twice a day for the past month), I check in at 7:15 to remind that is the time for the night pills. My mother says “I already took them at 7. We decided to change it to a whole number.” Now, does 15 minute matter? Likely not. But combined with the fact she already made me move them from 7:45 to 7:15, and then learning of wrong medications the previous day, AND no sign my father has done anything productive, just set me off. Oh, and she refuses to mute the TV that is 3 feet away from her while talking to me, but wants me to call MORE. She was happily controlling the TV while my father was in the hospital once I taught her, now she refuses. I am not proud, but I am radio silent for a bit. Efforts are not reciprocated. Sorry for the rant. Siblings state platitudes when I share what is going on.
Has anyone heard of the Benjamin Franklin Effect. From a reddit discussion (set off a lightbulb for me): “The sad psychological fact is, people like you more after they do favors for you, and like you less after you do favors for them… counter-intuitive but true.” This might explain my problem.
I hope everyone has been doing well!!
PS DGS#2 has decided to show up late. He older brother came on his due date, so we are a little surprised. Still waiting for him to show.
8/22 – 124.8 Ate perfectly yesterday and caught up on a lot of things, but no exercise. Happy enough. AND DGS#2 surprised me by arriving at 3:01 this morning. I was still texting my daughter at home at 11:30 last night. No real details yet. In a few, I am driving to their house to pick up the cats to babysit them for a couple weeks. Will be four kitties in our home and NO they do not all get along. But have done it plenty before.
8/23 – 124.2 Hairballs and humans got their weigh in. I did this also on January 1st when cat sitting also, and was “day 1” for me returning to better choices.

8/24 NSV- One of my tennis friends told me yesterday I looked like I was slimming down… What a nice thing to hear! Still can’t stand on the scale because I don’t wanna lose the pep in my step… I’m at a major stall and I just don’t get it. I can’t possibly drink any more water than I already am! Trying to stay positive and keep at it ….going for a 5 mile walk this morning and will add strength training when I get home. Will enjoy God’s creation and count my blessings.
Yes, we are in a heatwave. The heat impact is cumulative on your body and boy am I sluggish this morning… Got in my tennis match yesterday and thought I was gonna die… Reached my 10K steps and played bridge last night instead of tonight. I enjoyed one SMALL glass of wine and was careful to only indulge in a few nibbles of cheese, a few strawberries / blueberries… way under calorie goal What a splurge! Much more satisfying than air popcorn! Hit macros too. Will venture out today to find some collagen/protein supplement. I hope everyone has a terrific day today and believe —- YOU can do it!!!
Let’s do this! 💪🏻🙌🏻

8/23 Quick check in here… I added bacon to my breakfast this morn because I’m VERY hungry this morning. Skipped IF cuzz of heat/tennis. Getting ready for tennis and another day of heat exhaustion. I missed all other workouts yesterday due to the heat, but did manage my 10k steps. Calorie intake was right on target, so what’s going inside my mouth is under control …
I do know I’m NOT getting enough protein… Any suggestions out there? Anyone take collagen? Healthy low /no carb protein supplement? Please share!
Let’s do this! 💪🏻🙌🏻

8/22 I truly detest the scale. I was hoping for a whoosh! Been so darn good. The scale always disappoints. That’s it. That’s me for today. Oh, I had to skip my 12-2-30 yesterday because once again, the heat destroyed me. I was able to complete my 10K steps and do some (but not all) strength training). Playing tennis again this morning - expecting another 105 to 110 heat index. I am thankful I can still tackle this stuff!
Let’s do this! 💪🏻🙌🏻

8/21 I had a TON of energy yesterday. Hit 10k steps before noon and completed strength training. Explored a possible new Garmin watch most of the afternoon, and decided to return it… Will simply stick with the Apple Watch - will try a shoe-top pedometer next.
Today: Tennis and 12-3-30. Need to plan my dinners this week and shop today. Keep all temptations OUT OF THE HOUSE! Still waking up too early (4:30 this morn).
BTW:I am fortunate that my husband takes outstanding care of himself. No effort… Just comes natural. He eats only to fuel his body… In excellent shape and rarely thinks about food. HOW?!?!! He only eats when he’s hungry. He is 69, over 6’ , his weight ranges weekly between 165 & 170 (water/heat/food/workouts). He never stops moving … his weight fluctuates as much as my mood changes! He just eats what I eat but much more of it….. It’s just his body and how it works…. (Mine of course is immeasurably different.) When we met ~22 years ago, I weighed 142 lbs. In 2009/2010 I gained 30 lbs (high stress job no exercise) ….. He never said a word! I finally decided to take that off in 2014 and got down to 128 (my high school weight) …. That’s where I’d like to live for now on…. I feel better and that’s healthy for me …. The more I study and learn about nutrition the more I realize we’ve been poisoned in the US. The FDA is NOT our friend. Too many preservatives, too many chemicals, too much fake food. Eating clean works well for me.
Let’s do this! 💪🏻🙌🏻

8/20. One day soon-there will be a WHOOSH! (Like a 2 to 3 pound drop off!) There must be! Physically and mentally, I feel strong this morning starting a new round…. !
Yesterday: I hit all my goals, except for total steps. The humidity/heat really did it to me playing tennis so I took it easy the rest of the day…! Was truly wiped out… Only logged 6k steps).

Hi all, I'm Amanda, late joining this round but need this group! I am so stalled 10 lbs above my original goal weight. I don't know if I necessarily want to weigh 120 but I would like to shed a few for sure!
SW Round 233: 129.0 on 8/19
8/20: 130.0
8/21: 130.2 Hmpf! Hoping my body is holding on to water from pizza and wings for dinner, plus achy muscles after running 9 miles yesterday. I have 3 more full training weeks before the half-marathon on September 17th and I feel like I can definitely do it (albeit slowly)! I joined this RunDot program that has a customized training plan based on my own thresholds and it helps me not bonk when I'm running. It gives me pretty slow target paces but TBH I think that's really the best thing for me to avoid injury or burning out. It estimates that my pace will be 11:30 per mile which is okay with me! Anyway, today I'm just going to take my dog for a walk and do some strength training via Peloton. My dog Pancake returned from a 2-week board and train on Saturday and we haven't had a chance to practice a lot of her skills yet. So the walk will be less of a workout for me and more of a mental workout for her. She pulls on her leash really badly so it takes a lot of effort to keep her focused! Hoping one day she can just know that's the expectation. My other dog is at training now, and he isn't showing his trainer any of his issues which is super annoying. He usually lunges for cars and squirrels and such and I guess he just isn't doing it. His training may be the biggest financial mistake I've made in a while. Whoops.
8/22: 132!! I don't understand what's going on. Well, actually I do. I am eating too much. Yesterday I was so hungry during the day. I think a lot of it is due to my running and strength training, but I'm not finding the correct fuel for my body. Yesterday I had a binge session of sourdough toast with butter. 3 slices in sequence. 1 slice, break, 1 slice, break, and yet another slice. I really haven't been prone to binge snacking until recently. I also got a silly Starbucks coffee. Whyyy?? On the plus side, I finally got a good night's sleep last night!! My 2-year-old slept through. He's been waking up each night and climbing into my bed. I'm sure it won't happen again any time soon, but for today, I feel pretty good. Maybe that will help me with the snack choices.
8/23: 131. I did a lot better yesterday but still need to focus. I made chicken enchiladas and was surprised to see how many calories they rang in when I tracked them, whoops. They didn't FEEL like 700 calories each!! And I ate one plus what the 2yo left behind. So I ended up eating at least 500 over my allotment + my exercise calories, ugh. But at least I tracked! That is progress. Today is dog walk plus strength training. It's Pancake's last day as a solo pup since we pick her brother up tomorrow! I'm thinking of taking her on a hike since that will be harder with two dogs, but I probably need to actually do some work today. Maybe we'll just do a longer walk than normal.
8/24: 130.2. Alright, a bit of a decrease there. I was doing pretty well yesterday but started feeling festive when a gigantic report (really the culmination of all of my work for the past year and a half) got approved in the afternoon. We'd bought supplies to make Kentucky mules (Moscow mules with bourbon instead of vodka) and hadn't used them, so I decided I needed two of them last night, followed by two beers. Ahh! Going to have an alcohol-free day today and try to stay on track, despite the fact that my husband made hazelnut pancakes this morning. I have to run 5ish miles today for my half marathon training. Since I have meetings this morning and won't be able to beat the heat I'll do it on my treadmill this afternoon. I got my days mixed up and *today* is the last day Pancake is an only dog. I think I'm going to take her on a small hike while I listen in on a meeting that I don't have to speak much on. We'll both feel good after that!

Yesterday was good food wise. I didn’t feel great — got my flu and RSV shots Thursday and I always react a bit, I’m such a delicate flower 🤪. The weather has been lovely but this week, starting today, is supposed to be hot hot hot. Off to water, then walk. Have a lovely Sunday, everyone!
8-21 - 185.6, 1765
I oversnacked last night. Why do I do this? I don’t know. I feel like I need to put a big CLOSED sign on the kitchen after dinner. It’s really nuts.
8/22 - 186.8, 1823
Gaaa! Not only have my calories been high the past two days, but I feel bloated, although I haven’t been eating extra salt, at least. Do antihistamines cause water retention? I’ll have to look that up. I had/have an injection site reaction to my flu shot—red, itchy, inflamed—and I’ve been taking diphenhydramine (Benadryl) on advice of pharmacist. But why am I snacking so much, knowing I’m just undermining myself? A symptom of something else going on?
8/23 - 185.8, 1536
I did have some cheese last night as a snack, but did better—I weighed it and nibbled slowly and stuck with that. My arm is a lot better thanks at least partly to the Benadryl, but still red and slightly itchy. I’ve never reacted like that before. I’m meeting a friend for lunch — already checked the menu and I’m getting a grilled chicken salad, dressing on the side. DH wants brats for dinner, so I’ll have one and forego the bun. Now to stick with the plan! Off for a walk before the heat sets in—heat advisory for the next three days. Stay cool and safe, everyone.
8/24 - 186.6, 1800ish
So much for sticking to the plan. Actually I did at lunch—resisted the personal pizzas and enjoyed my grilled chicken salad. But at dinner I ended up eating 2 brats with buns and a boiled new potato, and I ate some ice cream later. Ugh. I’m starting journaling today to see if I can get a handle on why I’m doing this to myself. Rebellion? Depression? Something else?

@SModa61 Speaking of benign (or not,) look at aspirin which I always think of as first in line for most aches and pains. I’ve read that if was new to the market now, it would probably not be available. And the disclosures in minuscule print at the bottom of TV ads - several list death as a possible side effect!4

Day/Weight/Comment
8/20: 131.4 - Got my workout in after skipping it on Friday. Ate fairly well and slept well.
8/21: 131.4 - A little surprised I held this weight since we went to our neighbor’s 1st birthday party for their dog (a first for me, and I think mainly an excuse to throw a party for our neighbor). They had wine, samosas, pizza - all of which I partook in. I entered all the food in my diary and was surprised I was still under calories. Thank you workout for helping get some extra calories for the day!
8/22: 132.5 - Pretty sure it was going to happen since I ate leftovers from the party for lunch and dinner.

Current New Goals:
Weight:
Short Term Goal: To weigh less at the end of this round than I did at the end of the last round.
Final goal: 145-155. We’ll see how I look & feel when I get there.
Exercise: Move 30 minutes per day rotating activity.
Mini challenge: My monthly goal is always about 4 pounds per month. HOWEVER, I never seem to make that. I will continue to keep that goal because it Should Be achievable (even though it is not for me) but never say never, right? So, Between Independence Day Holiday (July 4th) and Labor Day Holiday (Sept 4th) I will weigh somewhere, ANYWHERE in the 180’s. I don’t care if it’s on the brim. I’ve got to start getting further away from the 200’s again! Starting Weight on 7/4 is 195.4.
COLOR CODE: Fuchsia is a Happy Weight Loss for me. Blue is a sad weight gain.Black is no change.

08/21 -DNW- (Trend weight DNW)
08/22 -DNW- (Trend weight DNW)
08/23 -DNW- (Trend weight DNW)I will weigh in tomorrow. I just needed this one buffer day at home to stick to plan and mitigate the damage from all the travel and festivities. I received confusing news at the cancer appts yesterday. They have found calcifications in my left breast (the cancer free one). While some calcifications can be normal in women, it is a concern due to my cancer history. They are not recommending a biopsy just yet which is good news. But they do want another mammogram in 6 months instead of a year to follow any changes or growth. So now, 6 months of worry. I should have just had them both lopped off with the original cancer but I had 3 kids still in school at the time and my hubby was very sick with constant travel for dialysis. Honestly there was no time for me as it would have required so much travel and processes. And I likely still would have needed the chemo anyway. I’m thinking about seeing a breast surgeon now and just get it over with. This is draining. Anyway, today is National Prayer Day so maybe you guys can say one for me.
08/24 -195.4- (Trend weight 197.0) I am down 2.6 lbs from my last weigh-in. Boy-oh-Boy what a relief! I was hoping to see the probable water weight come off on this reading and I am very pleased. I just wasn’t in a state to see a higher weight another day. Now to take the ball and run with it since this is still higher than my lowest in August. Yesterday I worked on tweaking my calorie and carb goals with MFP. I am going to try to be a little less restrictive but still very mindful of carbs due to my T2D as well as its effectiveness for weight loss. I’ll keep working and tweaking until I find the sweet spot. I will be like a dog looking for a bone, I won’t give up and I’ll dig where I have to! I start babysitting tonight until Saturday night so that means constant interruptions in my ability to exercise but it also means lots of stairs on a steep staircase. I’m going to take advantage of being home and really watch my P’s and Q’s.

Carb cycling currently, high carb days will be 8/22, 8/25 and 8/28 around high intensity exercise planned. Out of town 8/26-8/27 but should still be able to weigh and workout!
Date/weight/comment:
8/20: 218.6 - good day today, 600 cal deficit, 65 mins strength training followed by 20 cardio.
8/21: 218.4 - 270 cal deficit, 60 min total cardio today, indulged in Costco pizza and ice cream for lunch but still remained in my caloric budget for today, just the macros are screwey today!!
8/22: 219.0 - on track to end today with 800-1000 cal deficit even after a planned taco dinner, weighed in AM after breakfast so that explains the + from yesterday. Rode 50 minute HIIT cycling class today and surprisingly had my highest average watts in my history of cycle classes! I was feeling so so going into it but I think a Celsius drink helped, along with the instructor's motivation and music tracks really had me hit it hard. HR through the ride ranged from 90 to 179 with about 4 minutes total in Zone 5(above 171 for me is Z5) . Felt great afterward! I usually see a 5-6 pound water loss per hour while doing HIIT cycle so anticipate a lower scale weight tomorrow after replenishing.
8/23: 217.6 - as expected, scale movement downward this AM. Had a good 45 minute strength workout followed by a 50 minute indoor bike endurance ride (zone 3 with a few Z4 bursts in there). Should end day with a 850 cal deficit after a planned pork roast and veggies dinner. Feeling great today!
8/24: 217.0 - more downward movement, great! Did a 45 minute strength group class this AM followed by a quick 15 minute endurance indoor bike. Planning on doing a 45 minute PM class as today's my double gym day. Saturday is rest this week. Still have dinner to go but targeting a 600-700 cal deficit today. Still hot outside so can't quite ride outdoors yet. looking forward to fall.

8/24 - 152.5 - One tenth of a pound at a time. But it's dropping, not gaining, so I'm content. Dinner had both heavy cream and cheese and I didn't even think to take my lactose pill. I did my kettlebell workout (pushed to today since I have a doc appointment tomorrow) and walked the dogs. Dinner is steak, potatoes, and some kind of veg. Not much else to report on.

Previous Day's Comments8/20 - I'm up a tad but I'm sure that's sodium. Instead of dinner, I ate chips and guac as a "dinner" snack. Lunch was late, but I was hungry while nobody else was so no "real" food for dinner. Today is a quiet day of working on the house. We got the loan approved to remodel our barely-functioning master bathroom, yippee! Bought the replacement power outlets and light switches for the entire house (a previous project) and looked at flooring/tile while there for the bathroom. Colors (paint, vanity, etc) will all be based on what we can get tile/flooring that is tasteful, to our liking, and within budget. We have a really good idea now so just planning a look at some other places first to see if there's anything we like more within budget elsewhere. The boys have an appointment this afternoon and while they're gone, I'll knock out grocery shopping. I've got every dinner except Friday figured out for this week and I'm about to figure out my lunches (meal prep) so I can finalize my grocery list. Also need to plan out my workouts. I have labs very early Tuesday and a doc appointment early Friday so I'll have to plan around those. I'll be happy to get back to routine.
8/21 - Yesterday was the first full day of eating at home since last Monday and I was graced with a drop in return. Stuffed pepper soup with homemade artisan bread. We got 75% of the light switches and outlets replaced. It looks so much better. My poor hands hurt, though, from all the wires and such. I'm feeling very optimistic. I have healthy veggie-filled lunch options (leftover orzo veg soup frozen awhile back and leftover stuffed pepper soup from last night). Dinner has some good veg as well, which I'm cooking. I knocked out my kettlebell workout and a walk with the pups. Labs tomorrow morning and I'm exited to see if there's an improvement from last year with me sticking to my goals so well. Busy busy work the first half of this week so hoping for good meditation opportunities to help with stress relief.
8/22 - Whoohoo! The drop I've been looking for. Crazy because I ended up snacking on some of the leftover homemade donuts from the weekend as I was craving sweets and I was well over on calories. I'm also quite sore today from yesterday's kettlebell workout I did so I'm sure I'm holding on to some water there. I'm slowly getting back on track with my habits and I'm happy to see even the small changes are showing progress, even if that progress is only dropping the excess bloat/water from travel and weekend shenanigans. I need to get my eating back on track fully - no more snacking and pay attention to portions/body cues! Today I'm heading in to get labs done here shortly so no morning walk with pups. I'm not sure who is more disappointed - me or them! I've found it's so much harder to get my 10k steps when I don't have a morning walk. Those 1700-2000 steps really kickstart my day, even though it seems like such a small amount overall. I can't wait until it cools down enough in the evenings for after dinner walks with the pups. That also means morning runs to prepare for my 5k in November I've put off training for. Silly weather.
8/23 - A drop is a drop! A lot of stress happening in this house so I'm rather surprised. I'm keeping to my goals and plans, though. I could dial in my eating a bit more, but I'm making progress slowly and the scale is showing it, one tenth of a pound at a time haha Once this morning's meetings are over, I'll hopefully have a little less work-related stress to deal with and can focus on managing my personal life stress in a healthy manner. Knocked out kettlebell strength and walking the pups for the day. Dinner is Tuscan chicken (new recipe I'm making). Lunch is veg orzo soup or stuffed pepper soup. Bread is gone so I might use a single slice of sandwich bread to soak up the last of the broth which is more calorie-friendly than the large slice of artisan bread.

65 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 233 (my 163rd). Thank you @quiltingjaine for the new round, so grateful.
Goal this round again is to get back under and stay under 138, I really don’t want to keep hovering around 140 pounds. Holiday is now in 21 days,3 weeks! I still need to crack on & lose a few more pounds, starting to get back into some holiday clothes, but can't let up: time is running out! So, 21 days, 2 rounds at a pound per week should get me better than I am, I’ve done it before so I can do it again if I knuckle down!! Really try to stay on track & do another complete round without binging. After all I am what I eat in more ways than one, my whole demeanour is totally different when I am happy with myself!!Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.
