Well. I did not hit my August goal, but at least I am moving in the correct direction. I was very hungry this week and ate over my calorie goal most days. Since there is only one month left, I increased my challenge weight loss goal to 167 pounds.

I just wasn’t as hungry with no tummy relief. Lower tummy still feeling like it’s full of steel Perry marbles. My meals were normal but no desire to snack so my night time snacks were skipped. Maybe I can learn a lesson here? Anyway, Metamucil, here I come. You are my last real hope!
08/31-191.8-(Trend Weight: 195.2)- 2 lbs down this month. I’m posting late due to the travel to the endocrinologist today for my diabetes. His scale showed that I was down a couple of pounds from my last visit. He was happy to see my glucose numbers on my monitor were better. He reminded me that excess sugars in the blood are stored as fat and when I keep my numbers better, I maintain much better and even lose weight. I needed that reminder. I left feeling very inspired and able. I ate most of my Chicken Alfredo at the restaurant for lunch today. It was so so good. I will finish the rest tonight for dinner so I will be 100% back on plan tomorrow. I will not be snacking tonight since it is already getting late. Tomorrow I have a huge bow window being put in my living room to replace the old picture window that was flanked on each side. I also have to start getting up early on Fridays to drive my kindergarten grandson to the nearby bus stop by 7:20 am. I have to get him up and get him ready for school since I always babysit on Thursday nights and Fridays. Then I will pick him up from the bus stop at about 4:00 pm. I am not looking forward to getting up that early since sleep is already so elusive. It’s not that I can’t handle the 6:30 part (which is when I’ll need to get up). It’s that no matter what time I get up, I seem to need about 2 hours to chill, drink coffee and get ready to see other human beings and be nice. Ah well. Nice round everyone! See you in the next.

Finally entered the 140s! At this point in the game and based on my body's clingy relationship with the numbers on the scale lols, it's not realistic to aim to lose the 7 more lbs needed to reach the goal weight by end of month. That being said, I'm okay with other parameters I'm keeping track of like strength, balance, pain and energy levels, blood pressure and heart rate. Tape measure also giving a few nods. Feeling better overall after two months. Let's see how we are by the end of the challenge. 💖2 -

Yes it's definitely time consuming. But soooo worth it. I tell myself that things have gotten so much easier already, and will continue to get easier. Both the meal planning (practice makes perfect) and the exercising (less weight to move around -- should become less tiring, right?!). I'm far less exhausted now at the end of the day than I was two months ago.
I make sure to revel in my successes every day, stopping to smell the flowers as it were. You know, just taking the time to consciously notice how much better I'm feeling in every way. Things like: it's easier now to get dressed, my clothes fit comfortably (still plus size, but no longer stuffed sausage plus size ). I'm having to adjust my car set to get closer to the steering wheel and moving around is so much easier already. I snore less, I sweat less, my clothes don't get as smelly (sorry if that's TMI but it's true!). I almost no longer worry if I will be able to fit into a chair when I'm someplace else and need to sit down. Focusing on all of these successes is enough to keep me motivated.

No weight loss these past couple weeks, but my shape is changing big-time. I've added a lot of exercise, starting from basically zero in June... to getting 20 minutes a day of just light movement in July... and then replacing two of those 20-minute daily sessions with a full-on water aerobics class (1 hour twice a week) at the beginning of August. Toward the end of August I got a used Apple watch and started working on closing those activity rings every day, so now I move A LOT more throughout the day rather than spending all my time sitting/lying around as I used to.
I notice myself getting stronger and more flexible, with almost no pain from moving (which is huge considering where I was in June). I'm adding a third weekly day of water aerobics this month. And finally, this past week I started a new little project: every time I leave the house for errands or whatever, I go for a short walk at some park or other pretty spot close by. Working my way up to a full mile. This is fun because it inspires me to discover some new places, but doesn't require me to go out of my way to get my exercise in.
So while I'm not currently dropping weight, I know I'm replacing fat with heavier muscle. And the weight loss will soon start up again, I'm sure. Good stuff!
