@cszulc Live classes are great. I used to go to one at a gym in Houston when I did a half Ironman- ages ago- like 20 years. But my daughter loves Soulcycle and I occasionally go with her. It requires a little more rhythm than I actually have. And ear plugs- the music is loud. But it’s fun.
My husband grew up in Barrington- I guess that’s considered a suburb of Chicago. Chicago is a great city. I really like Des Moines. I think it’s under the radar. There are some good restaurants downtown. We’ve stayed at a little hotel called the Des Luxe a couple of times and I think it’s very cute!
@ashleycarole86 Thanks! The race was full of really good athletes. The first place female ran a 7 something mile and the first place male ran a 5 something mile. I couldn’t even do that for .1 mile, let alone 13.1.

I did another 12 miles yesterday evening. It was supposed to be a 3 mile run but I bust my little toe earlier in the week and it still hurts. I'm trying a different routine from now to end of year cos work always gets really busy and takes over, the exercise gets pushed to the side. I'm planning during the week to get 30min/10miles on bike in morning and then depending on the weather and how I feel 30 mins running or bike in evening. So even if I don't get the full hour I'll still get the 1/2hour done and won't be so annoyed with myself. Here's planning anyway!

Labor Day class Monday
21.4 miles, lots of newbies in class which is great to see as it means they'll likely add more classes this fall
Rode outside today - mad because my MapMyRide didn't start properly and I was pushing for the first 5 miles of my normal route to be a record. So estimate I put in 14 miles based on where I went.
Looking forward to Saturday's class-- 90 minute ride!

Zwift rides. Unfortunately the developers 'fixed' the arch glitch on the climb portal, so I may be subjecting myself to it a bit less than I have been. My quads and calves will than me for that, though, considering that they're achy after the stair climbing on Monday.
