Have been quite productive last night and today. Cleaning in supper mom mode. Walls, curtains, rugs, laundry & dusting. One bathroom down 2 to go but first I’ll finish the bedroom. Only downside is I’ve had 45 minutes of sleep. When I crash I will crash hard. Not sure if it’s a little hypomania or just nervous energy. Tim is working nights and things have been sketchy at work. Sketchy at a chemical company is not a warm fuzzy feeling.

House is super clean. Boy it feels good. I typically don't take the time to deep clean unless I have the house to myself. Though I don't like when Tim works nights and sleeps all day, the timing worked well for holidays prep. Sierra texted this morning and she is coming in this evening instead of tomorrow, so I'm really glad I got the floors downstairs done. Her allergies are worse now when she comes home because she isn't exposed to our dog all the time. I want her to be comfortable and relax when she is home.

Work is a ghost town this week. There are like 3 people out of 15 in my building.

Tonight I need to work on a craft project for church, and go to the grocery store. We cut out giant gingerbread men from gaylord boxes to use as a station separator at the Christmas Event for the kids.
Now I need to paint them. I love painting. Maybe Sierra will want to help me. She is artsy sometimes.
The stores are crazy right now, so I'm not looking forward to that. It is possible Tim will go without me if I'm painting, but there is an outside chance of rain this evening so craft may be replaced with shopping entirely.

    JFT 11/20 M
    1) Log all food / 64+ oz. water
    2) Walk dog  3.82mi & warned by guy in park not to walk on back woods trails due to deer gun season being open & hunters there, but told him we don't usually go that way (too steep by the creek for my knees), and never during hunting season. Also, dog got petted by random gentle stranger also out for a walk. Happy dog & happy me
    3) Rake wind-blown leaves and along fence-line in backyard / rakes & bins in shed for winter / shop at Sam's Club for instant savings about to expire / Sam's order if available only online / wash dishes / remaining plastics & paper in recycle bin (to curb tonight) / read / other?

Had a great weekend in my hometown, for niece's baby shower (her first). Minimal games (her choice) and relatives on both sides of family came together. My first "food day" for 8 days went well; I chose what looked best to me, limited quantities, ignored the rest and drank only one adult beverage (NA was available, but I opted for booze since I rarely imbibe lately), then water. It was a fun party. My daily weigh-in today was same as Sat. a.m. so with party and my Dad's cooking, no gain is a win!

Rest of weekend was at my parents' house. Went to church together which was very nice. Helped Mom figure out her email issue; she had unknowingly sorted by Subject instead of date, and she had no idea. So that made her happy the fix was so easy. Also helped them with some household chores, since they're not able to get up and down stairs so easily anymore. Left for home just as Packers game ended, narrowly avoiding OT. Since the game was in Green Bay (where we live), the closer I got to home, the more opposing traffic was backed up. Thankfully, traffic headed in my direction was nowhere near as bad. Hubby was happy I made it safely and just before dark, dog & Kitty were very happy their mama was home.

Healthy eating basically went out the window today. Huge amounts of stress following a work meeting about benefits changing next year. Looks like I’ll be paying more money for significantly less coverage so that’s cool. Cue the emotional junk food eating because i have no idea how im going to manage my healthcare/pharmacy budget for next year.

I guess I’ll just have to try and do better tomorrow with eating healthier. Last thing I need is an IBS flare on top of everything else.

    - Paint start detail work :(
    - Bed by 10:00 :(

Did some shopping after work to pick up items that I couldn't order from Kroger. Meant I got home after dark and couldn't start my painting as I needed to do the base coat outside as it's spray paint. Ordered groceries on-line and picked them up which was nice until I realized they forgot to give me all of the paper products. So I went online and got a refund then had to go to the store anyway. Bummer, but there are worse problems in life.

Got blood work this morning and my fingerprints for my YMCA background check. Dropped off some things at Goodwill and did my last minute re-shopping. Pretty productive. Tim is supposed to be taking a half day today so he should be home soon and I'll see what he'd like to do. Otherwise, I'll probably start baking pies. I can do apple and pumpkin today. Boston Cream Pie (which is a cake) tomorrow and chocolate pie while the turkey bakes Thursday morning. There won't be room in the fridge for the choc pie or BCP until the turkey is out of the fridge, but it will go into the brine Wednesday evening. Planning oven and fridge space is crucial to Turkey Day success... Things are still going poorly for Tim at work so I'm really hoping he'll be able to help prep. If not I can manage. Just means the chances of me looking presentable on Thursday are slim.

    Recap 11/20 M
    1) Log all food / 64+ oz. water  Net cals excellent but quite low on water.
    2) Walk dog  3.82mi & warned by guy in park not to walk on back woods trails due to deer gun season being open & hunters there. That was nice of him, maybe when he saw doggo wearing her blaze orange vest, he worried we might be doing something dumb. I told him we don't usually go that way (too steep by the creek for my knees), and never during hunting season. Also, dog got petted by random gentle stranger also out for a walk. Happy dog & happy me.
    3) Rake wind-blown leaves and along fence-line in backyard / rakes & bins in shed for winter / shop at Sam's Club for instant savings about to expire / Sam's order if available only online / wash dishes / remaining plastics & paper in recycle bin (to curb tonight) / read / other? yep, minor stuff but still TA-DA! A productive day.

    JFT 11/21 T
    1) Log all food to best of my ability (lunch/drinks with DE at 1919 Kitchen & Tap) / 64+ oz. water
    2) Walk dog in afternoon (raining in a.m.)
    3) Choir rehearsal 7:30 (remember to take Mountain of Food donations) / drop mail at P.O. / something ta-da?

Leaving shortly for lunch & drinks with my friend D.E. who's a local person I've known the longest since I moved to GB over 40 years ago. We're both retired now, and we still get together a few times a year. She chose a restaurant which I haven't been to in a long time, in the Atrium at Lambeau Field (only 15 minute drive from home). I will make a wise menu choice, imbibe in an adult beverage and enjoy DE's company. Not sure if I'll be able to log food accurately, but I'll try. I did pre-check the menu online, and feel I have some decent choices.

    Recap 11/21 T
    1) Log all food to best of my ability (lunch/drinks with DE at 1919 Kitchen & Tap) / 64+ oz. water :p Taco Tuesday at restaurant so I tried 2 different tacos (ribeye, walleye) & had 1 beer. Enjoyed the walleye taco more, and best of all was catching up with D.E. Logged food best I could, ate leftovers for supper (even measured some) and net cals negative as expected with no dog walk. Only one day.
    2) Walk dog in afternoon (raining in a.m.) :/ weather did not cooperate, sad dog, sad me
    3) Choir rehearsal 7:30 (remember to take Mountain of Food donations) / drop mail at P.O. / something ta-da? watered all the houseplants & refilled heated birdbath

    JFT 11/22 W
    1) Make slow cooker jambalaya & brown rice for supper / log all food / 64+ oz. water
    2) Walk dog on very nice day, even if breeze is a little brisk :sunglasses: 4.69 miles happy dog & happy me
    3) Pick up bread order for tomorrow / refill bird feeders / read / church service 7:00 / other?

Tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day (U.S.), hubby and I will drive to my parents' house, where we will carpool with them, one of my brothers, and aunt the rest of the way to my sister's. Total car time round trip will be close to 6 hours, no time for dog walk, will be a long day. Other siblings & families arriving separately, will be a full house for football & food. I will not log food (how would I ever?), but will choose what looks best to me, limit portions and skip the rest. Already know I will try some new wines (sent from Australia by uncle via aunt). Plan is to skip desserts as much as possible, especially if store-bought. Focus will be on family, football (Go Pack Go), and fun (we play games, too).

Here's an image from walk with dog today:

    About me:
    I'm Carmela
This is my lifestyle. It's. Not. A. Diet.

    2023 Goals:
    1) Ultimate goal weight 150#... I'll be satisfied if I can get back down to 160# this year
    • Post weekly weigh-in on MFP for accountability. Saturday a.m. is my "official" weigh-in day, and I track daily on a separate app (for the visual). My digital scale only shows half pound increments & I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale.
    • Take measurements & log on MFP every month end ~ forgot (on purpose ?) in July, Aug & Sept
    2) Plan meals most days & prelog meals/snacks whenever possible on MFP
    • Try new recipes now that I have the time
January: parsnip/potato mash; St. Louis gooey butter cake (Mom's bday) =:smiley:
February: creamy bacon corn chowder (slow cooker); banana bread (using applesauce & oil); braised lamb shanks with lentils (slow cooker); apple cake (with buttermilk) =:smiley::smiley::smiley:
      March ???
April: porkchops with mushrooms =
May: raisin overnight oats; banana overnight oats =
June: orange choc chip bread =
July: chicken leg quarters on the grill =
August: apple zucchini bread =
September: sausage broccoli stir-fry =
      Oct ???
    3) Exercise 5-6x per week (minimum 4x)
    January 1x6 days, 1x5 days, 2x4 days =
    February 1x6 days, 2x5 days, 1x4 days =
    March 2x6 days, 3x5 days =
April 1x3 days, 2X5 days, 1 week not feeling well =
    May 2x3 days, 1x4 days, 2x5 days =
June 1x3 days, 3x4 days plus race event =
July 1x0 days too hot to get up early LOL, 3x4 days =
    August 4x4 days, 1x5 days =
    September 2x4 days, 2x5 days =
October 4x4 days including race event =
    • Walk dog 3-4 miles, treadmill when necessary in winter, weights/my home version of circuit & other x-training
    • Continue PT (physical therapy) exercises to strengthen arthritic knees & hip flexor
    4) MapMyWalk app You Vs. the Year 1,023km challenge started on Jan. 1
    January 48.14 miles

September 63.89 miles YTD 530.31  surpassed 2022's total distance
    October 66.33 miles YTD 596.64
    • In 2022 I logged 500.4 miles, or 805km. Not the full challenge, but with knee issues early in year, I was happy to get this far.
    5) At least 7,500 steps per day
    • I can earn $10 every month on my Medicare Advantage Plan with 10+ days of 7,500 steps = Jan / Feb / Mar / Apr / May / June / July / Aug / Sept / Oct
    6) Participate in my favorite area races ~ I walk, I do not run
    • Registered for Seroogy's Valentine 5K on 2.4.23 ~ skipped 2023 due to frigid temps with wind chill around 0F... didn't want a repeat of overuse injury from last winter. In 2022, I had to cancel race due to inflammation in knees from overuse & arthritis (medico advised) from walking in another frigid 5K.
