11/29-179.4-(Trend Weight 181.9)- While in bed last night I couldn’t get that triple chocolate, triple layer cake out of my head that is in the basement fridge leftover from Thanksgiving dinner Saturday. My body even became ravenously hungry. Starving really. I got up but when I looked at the alarm clock it said it was 2:45 a.m. No one needs to eat that late, especially when they are already in bed. So I promptly got back in and covered back up. If the clock had said 8:30 pm, I must admit that I would have had a huge slice. Or shall I say slab? I’ll likely travel today to do some birthday shopping for DGS. Not in the mood to see the 180’s on the scale again tomorrow, though. Especially as a final weigh-in for the challenge.

    11/30-xxxxx-(Trend Weight xxxxx)-

@deepwoodslady Wow, that triple layer chocolate cake would have tempted me also! You showed a lot of strength resisting it! I'm rooting for you getting to the 170's and crossing another decade off your list!

Hello I'm Darlene and have been with this group for a few months now. Retired, 63-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). Been with this group since the spring - my favorite group for support!

My goals for πŸ¦ƒNovemberπŸ¦ƒ - simplifying them this month - too hard to keep track of everything last month

βš–οΈ Lose 4 pounds (always my goal) - bringing me out of the obese category and into overweight
πŸ‘£ 17K steps daily with one day of rest
    πŸ“ Log Daily
πŸ₯— Stay under my calorie range

    βš–οΈπŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯—

    Highest Weight: 228
    October Ending Weight: 169.6

    Nov 1: 171 - πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— 17K Steps Not off to a good start - but it's temporary!
Nov 2: DNW - πŸ“ 4K Steps Tough day for eating and exercise yesterday. It was our monthly visit to my husband's 91 year old cousin who lives about 2 hours away. Leave at 5:30 AM - have breakfast and lunch with her (not good choices) and then a long drive back home later in the afternoon. We got back home at 6:00. Lovely visit, but it makes for a long day and I am exhausted when I get home. I hit the left over Halloween candy for dinner, no exercise at all, couldn't sleep (probably too much sugar). It's just a temporary situation (didn't I say that yesterday?)! Will get back to it today!
Nov 3: 170.4 πŸ‘£ πŸ“πŸ₯— 23K Steps Good day yesterday; everything on track and on my way back. As a reward for making my 2,023 goal hubby said to get the new Garmin Fitness tracker that I have been eyeing. It came a couple of days ago and I've been trying to figure it out; wearing both the Fitbit and Garmin. Today will switch to totally Garmin. Hubby is getting the Fitbit.
Nov 4: 170.2 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 20K Steps A slow creep in the right direction. Girls day at the casino today - my sisters and aunt are going. Wish me luck! I should still be ok. I'm eating my breakfast before I go, will bring a protein bar and fruit for my lunch and will be home for dinner. And I won't be drinking (I have to drive home).
    Nov 5: 170.4 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 20K Steps
Nov 6: 170.6 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 21K Steps Ugh - I've been struggling to see a decrease this week. The only thing I can think of is that I haven't been reaching my water goal. Will concentrate on that today and hope for a whoosh!
Nov 7: 169.6 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 20K Steps Finally back to my October ending weight. Now to keep it below the 170s for good.
Nov 8: 168.4 😁 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 23K Steps My first smile this month! Woo Hoo! Guess who is no longer "obese"! πŸ˜‰
Nov 9: 169.8 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 21K Steps Expected an uptick, and am actually glad that it is not more. Trivia Night last night (took 2nd place) - over my sodium goal and used all my calories from exercise.
    Nov 10: 169.6 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— 20K Steps
Nov 11: 169.8 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— 22K Steps A slow creep in the wrong directiion. Went out to dinner, self sabatoge. Time to get back to it!
Nov 12: 169.4 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 20K Steps A beautiful day in Connecticut yesterday. After my morning walk, spent the day cleaning up the yard - harvested the last of the herbs (froze for later), cleaned up the garden, put away the summer yard stuff. Then relaxed the rest of the day. I'm reading Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes again before I go see the movie next week.
Nov 13: 169.4 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 20K Steps A chilly start to the day, but beautiful. Got in 20K steps all week - I love walking in the cold weather. It's bingo night with Mom tonight - I HAVE to resist the desserts that everyone brings - gotta get that scale to move!
    Nov 14: 168.4 😁 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 19K Steps
    Nov 15: 168.8 πŸ‘£πŸ“16K Steps
Nov 16: 168.6 πŸ‘£πŸ“ 23K Steps A rough couple of days. Going to visit my Aunt this afternoon (she will have dessert), so having a light breakfast and lunch before I go. Then picking up dinner on the way home. So one more challenging day. Fingers crossed it doesn't do any more damage.
    Nov 17: 168.6 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 20K Steps
Nov 18: 168.2😁 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 22K Steps Back on track. Going to start getting ready for Thanksgiving today - have to clean out my office to make room for the buffet table. My Thanksgiving count is now up to 25 - my cousin and his girlfriend and there kids (they each have two) will be joining us as well. Their original plans fell through. Less leftovers! Yahoo! Finished the Ballad of Songbird and Snakes (2nd time reading), in anticipation of seeing the movie tomorrow. Looking forward to it. Haven't been to the movie theater in a long time!
Nov 19: 167.4 😁 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯—23K Steps. Happy to see this today.
Nov 20: 167.4 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 15K Steps. Was happy not to see a gain today. Went out to lunch yesterday before the movie. I figured the sodium would get to me. Move was very good. Parts were rushed, but I guess that can't be helped when trying to condense book to 2 1/2 hrs.
    Nov 21: 167.8 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 20K Steps
Nov 22: 168.2 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 23K Steps Overwhelmed with getting ready for Thanksgiving.
    Nov 23: 168.2 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 19K Steps Happy Thanksgiving
Nov 24: 172.8 14K Steps - I figured I would have a gain, but I have to find it funny how you can gain 4 pounds in a day. I have NEVER lost 4 pounds in a day! OK, I did have three pieces of pie - but they were small πŸ˜‰. I do have to say, I felt crummy at the end of the day - like a bad hangover and I couldn't sleep. I guess by body has gotten used to not eating like that. Right back at it today.
Nov 25: 169.6 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 22.5K This is where I started at the beginning of the month - so I think that four pound goal this month is a LONG shot - but hey I gained four pounds in a day - why not lose four in a week! I am going to try like H--- the next few days and be happy with what I get!
Nov 26: 167.4 😁 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 22K Steps Back down to my lowest weight.
Nov 27: 166.4 😁 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 17K Steps Woo Hoo getting there. I changed things up the last couple of days and it's working. I used @lauramavity7293 's method - I figured out the calories I needed to maintain my goal weight (at sedentary) and turned off the calories adjusted for exercise. I also have been drinking my water (my hardest thing) and intermittent fasting. Don't know if I could do it forever, but it looks like it is getting me to where I want to be for now. I'm going to try it from now until the end of December. I already know that December will be a see-saw month - so need to figure out how to overcome the "up" days. This looks like it might work!
Nov 28: 165.8 😁 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 22K Got my tree up last night. We bought a new one because one of the lights on the last one bit the dust. It is a little shorter than the last one - but I love my new little tree.
Nov 29: 165.4 😁 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 26K Off to see Greg's great Aunt today. Celebrating her birthday (91), having lunch.
    Nov 30: 164.6 😁 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— A great way to end the month.

Hi All, I am a busy mother of five slowly working my way to my goal weight. During September I entered my "Normal" BMI category and am now about 10 pounds from my ultimate goal. This will be my 3rd month in this challenge. I had never weighed myself daily before this challenge, and I am finding it to be so helpful and informative to weigh and check in daily.

My goal for November is to NOT GET DERAILED BY THANKSGIVING. πŸ¦ƒ πŸ₯§ 😊 Let me tell you, I can really get derailed by a holiday. I may or may not log on Thanksgiving or the day after, and that's OK. But my Thanksgiving goal is to log daily from Saturday the 25th through the end of the month.

Starting weight September 1: 141.0 lbs

Starting weight November 1: 132.8 lbs

Goal for November: 130.4 lbs Considering Thanksgiving, I'm setting my goal a tad on the conservative side.

    November 1: 132.8 I logged 🍁
    November 2: 132.8 I logged 🍁
November 3: 131.4 I logged 🍁 Very happy with today's weight. Over the past week there have been several days that I ate at maintenance, and a couple days I ate well over maintenance. It was hard to tell if I was needlessly eating more, or if I really needed the additional calories. I've already got my activity level set to almost the highest one, and I haven't even gone running or done any exercise for over a week. I guess I walk constantly around the house, dealing with the children and doing housework, always on my feet, and I frequently have to do up and down the stairs to deal with something or put something away, so maybe that burns a lot sometimes. For a while there I thought I was "failing" because I could not hit my calorie goal.
    November 4: 131.0 I logged 🍁
    November 5: 130.8
    November 6: 132.2 I logged 🍁
    November 7: 131.8 I logged 🍁
    November 8: 131.4 I logged 🍁
    November 9: 131.2
November 10: 131.2 I logged 🍁 Had a really bad day yesterday. Ended up overeating and eating too much chocolate. Hopefully it won't cause my weight to spike up. Today is a new day.
    November 11: 131.0 I logged 🍁
November 12: 131.2 I logged 🍁 OK, time to break through this number, lol.
    November 13: 130.6 I logged 🍁
    November 14: 130.2
    November 15: 131.6 I logged 🍁
November 16: 131.2 I logged 🍁 There's that familiar number again, lol. Time break through it again, especially these days before Thanksgiving. By the way, for the first time we have a pasture raised grassfed turkey this year for Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to it.
    November 17: 130.2 I logged 🍁 Yessss!! Happy dance.
November 18: 129.4 My scale is doing funny things. I'm not sure how accurate it is. At first it said 131.8 which is possible but unlikely (if the other readings this month were correct). So I got on again and it said 129.4 twice, so I'll go with that. But then I got on again about 30 minutes later and it said 127.0. That's highly unlikely also. Wondering if my scale is just not very good anymore.

November 19: 128.2 ??? Again, I have a hard time believing this is correct. I might fiddle around with my scale, look into calibration like ManifestingToday suggested, or replace the batteries. First it said 126.6! No way. Then it said 127.0. Then it said 128.2 three times. My guess would be that 130-131 is more accurate. But I don't know. Another note-- yesterday was full of surprises. The day did NOT go as planned. Calorie counting and all cares for weight loss ended up out the window. Ended up going to a restaurant and just eating a lot. So I expected to see a weight gain, if not from extra calories then at least water retention. I'm wondering if I did have a gain but my scale is off and not reflecting it. Or I could actually have had a loss like it says. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ Well, I will just keep on with the usual logging, stick to my plans, and hopefully figure out what's up with my scale.

November 20: 131.6 I logged 🍁 I am not super happy with my scale right now. Yesterday after I posted here, I turned it over and did not find any recalibration ability, but there is a button to change to kg. So I pushed it a couple times and set it back on pounds. Put it back down again, hopped back on and it said 131.4 I think. I think today's reading is probably pretty accurate..... It's a little disappointing to figure out that the scale has a 5-pound inaccuracy window. How am I supposed to know what's going on? I'll just keep logging and trying, and I'll keep getting on the thing every day and try not to worry too much about it. Let me know if any of you have any thoughts or advice on this.

November 21: 129.6 I logged 🍁 Stepped on the scale multiple times again and this is what I kept getting, so I'll go with it.
    November 22: 128.8 I logged 🍁
November 23: 127.8 Happy Thanksgiving! Here are my goals from now to the end of the month: 1) Enjoy Thanksgiving today and don't worry about calories. No logging. 2) Don't worry about calories tomorrow either. Logging optional. 3) From Saturday through Nov. 30, my goal is to log daily and check in here daily. 4) If my calories are over for a while, to get back to my calorie goal by Nov. 30.

    November 24: 129.6
November 25: 130.6 I logged 🍁 I am filled with a lot of yummy food. I'm stuffed like a turkey! Today my goal is to log.
November 26: 128.8 I logged 🍁 Yesterday I logged and was actually kinda close to my calorie goal πŸ‘
    November 27: 128.6 I logged 🍁
    November 28: 129.0 I logged 🍁
November 29: 129.2 I logged 🍁 It was tough to get to my calorie goal yesterday. I went over and ate close to maintenance. But considering Thanksgiving, the last 4 days of logging have been good.
November 30: 129.8 I liked the previous weights better. But overall it's a 3-pound loss for the month, and I'm back to logging after Thanksgiving, so I call this month a success. I will see you all over on the December thread.

@ddainiak thank you for your encouraging words. I feel like I failed this challenge not showing up. You’re very kind. Good news, after a lot of family drama, things have settled down. It all just reinforces the idea that I need to get myself in the healthiest state I can , to cope with what life gives you.
Good news, I actually lost a pound since the beginning of this challenge.
You are a wonderful example of someone who stuck with it for the month. Congratulations on your weight loss. You slayed it.

I will be changing my username shortly (when the Hogwarts challenge ends, and before the BLC and Hogwarts start back up). Been having some issues with friend requests and would rather not have my name in my username. Hoping it doesn’t cause issues with the MFP groups and friends. Look for πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈβ€œ17kStepsADayβ€πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ; I’m thinking that will be me, and will be my goal for 2,024.

I actually had to start a new MFP account this year, because I had already changed my username once with my old account, and for whatever reason, MFP only allows you to change your username one time -ever. Some online people I knew in real life had figured out my old account was me, and I didn't like that someone was tracking my weight progress knowing who I was. So please, change your name to whatever you feel comfortable and confident with, but know you can't change it again after that.

    Week 1 (1-7): 2.0 Loss
    Week 2 (8-14): 0.0 loss/gain
    Week 3: (15-21): 0.4 gain
    Week 4: (22-29) 0.4 gain
    Nov 30: 188.0

I lost 1.6 lbs in November. This is the first November in, many years, I have lost weight. I declare that a victory! See you all in December. I have a terrible track record of gaining weight in December. My goal will be to break the December weight gain cycle

@ManifestingToday Thanks for the insight on changing my name. I didn't realize that you could only change it once. Do you know if your groups will stay active when you change it? Or do you think I will I have to "rejoin"?

11/30-No Post-(Trend Weight No Post)- My weight balloons up the day after travel. I don’t think it’s fair to end the month with the inflated water weight. It makes it look bad for November, but it also makes it start December with a temporary inflated number, then my weight loss looks way too big in December. Not fair or accurate on both counts. I will come back and post my weight tomorrow (a compromise ) and begin December with that also as a benchmark. Great job everyone during November. It is traditionally a very challenging month for so many of us. It’s wonderful to see your different types of progress. See you tomorrow.

    Hi πŸ‘‹ (sorry I forgot yesterday πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ)

    Just checking in.

    Height 160cm
    Starting weight: 64.4kg
    1st goal weight: 60kg
    Main goal weight: 54kg
    Super goal weight: 50kg

    11/21 – 64.4
11/22 - 64.4 - Didn't lose anything, but did well today re diet. Didn't get to do a walk that I'd hoped to do though, which was annoying. There's hope for tomorrow though 😊
11/23 - 63.7 - Movement on the weight front πŸ™Œ. Diet has been good. Managed a walk yesterday, though had to cancel gym appointment today due to something coming up. I plan to go tomorrow morning instead though. If I can, I'll go for a walk again today.
11/24 – 63.7 - Have to go out tonight, so I won't be able to stick to the diet 😬. Will have to get back on the waggon tomorrow! Went to gym in the morning though, so that's good πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ
    11/25 – forgot
11/26 – 63.7 - I'm relieved my night out didn't set me back. I did try to stick to healthier, low calorie dishes, but I still ate & drank as much as I wanted. Went for a walk today also.
11/27 – 63.2 😁 The diet seems to be slowly working! Just need to keep up the good work.
11/28 – 63.9 - πŸ™ƒ Hopefully tomorrow the number will be lower again. 2 steps forward & 1 back, but still, overall it's still moving in the right direction. I've kept my diet clean today & I've just been to the gym πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ. Need to try not to eat too much for dinner & this evening now 🀞.
11/29 – πŸ€” hmm, forgot to weigh myself.
11/30 – 63.1 - πŸ™ŒπŸ˜ƒ Horray! Ending the month as I would have hoped. The diet & exercise paying off. Have an operation tomorrow - minor one, but it'll still keep me off exercise for a bit. So, hope it doesn't set me back too much 🀞.

Hope everyone has a lovely day today! See you all for the December challenge/weigh in πŸ˜€πŸ™

@ManifestingToday Thanks for the insight on changing my name. I didn't realize that you could only change it once. Do you know if your groups will stay active when you change it? Or do you think I will I have to "rejoin"?

I don't think you have to rejoin your groups -- it think the system just changes your name across the board. But it's also been a while since I did this, so I'm not 100% sure. I tried to research it too, but didn't find the answer to that.

I did find out you can contact MFP if you need to change your name again for some reason -- they supposedly will help you. I wish I knew that with my old account. Oh well.
