Happily, still have lost 3 pounds so far in December.
Might lose 1 more pound by January 1st, if I can stay focused these last 3 days in December.
Wish me success please π π5 -

Last weigh-in of 2023 π. In 2023, I lost 20 pounds, at a clip of ~4 pounds a month. December has been my best month, with a ~5 pound loss. Whatβs interesting to me is that my weight loss got better after I increased my net calorie goal, allowing me to feel better and sticking to my plan better. I ate 2100 kcal on an average day in December (Iβm 5β8β and quite active). Will check in on the January challenge tomorrow.10 -

In December, maintaining and not gaining is a victory. 2024 - let's keep at this!9 -

Ditto here. I eat only ~1600 calories/day***, but I'm only 5'3" and my only exercise till one week ago was walking (now I'm adding also cyclette, but it's a new entry, and it's not a real "addition", it's more a substitution: decrease walking from 20k steps to 10k steps/day, introducing 1 hr cyclette 4 days/week).
But me too noticed that when I ate less, I lost less.
Now I'm at my weight goal, so theoretically I'll not continue this challenge... but, as all of us know, maintaining it's very difficult, so... let's see.
I wish everyone a very very very happy year, and thank you all for your help, support and advices :-)
*** In fact, I "ate" only 1600: now I'm in maintaining at, for now, 1800 (I'm still trying/adjusting, probably this number will increase).6 -

3 lbs down, month goal met. Woot!9 -
@Sett2023 Iβm thinking of starting a similar body recomposition/measurements challenge next year for people who eat at maintenance. I havenβt seen a check-in thread like this, but found the weekly numbers check-in helpful.
β¦expecting to reach my weight goal in March, after that, I will work on losing fat and building muscle while eating at maintenance.6 -

December 31: 205.4 lbs
Weight lost this month: 9.7 lbs
I did it! Iβm 65.5 lbs down, which means Iβm half-way to my ultimate goal weight. My rate of weight loss is a bit too speedy now for my current weight range, so Iβm going to increase my calories a little to slow things down. So Iβm starting to work on my maintenance strategy (even though I have a ways to go yet). Iβm very pleased with how this year has gone for me. Hope to see you all again in the January challenge! Congrats to all of you who are happy with your progress. If youβre not: recommit & conquer! This is your time to shine β¨

@Sett2023 (and anyone else whoβs interested) Check out the Ultimate Accountability Challenge! It is a group that focuses not on weight loss, but on building daily habits which will sustain our weight and health in the long term. We have members who are losing weight, and others who have been maintaining for years.
