Got 5.5mi done tonight doing laps!
Now at 11.25/100
Going to target 6mi early tomorrow before the snow. I’m still going to be behind for the week, but much easier to get back on track for the month.7 -
@shanaber hoping you get good news. (Hugs)
A family issue’s come up and my daughter and son-in-law have to go out of town for a few days and we’re keeping our granddaughters during this time. Hubby worked today and will again tomorrow, so no outdoor walk/run for me anytime soon. Gotta be here with the girls.
I’m hoping I can get hubby to play with them for a while Sunday so that I can at least get a couple of miles in.
Now I’m glad we did but that walking pad/treadmill. At least I can get a mile or two in while the girls play.
Managed 1.5 miles this evening.

In my limited experience Hubbies respond better if firmly TOLD they will play with children just as their partner is stepping out the door, fully dresses and ready to run.
<duck> Yes, I am single.

Thanks all... since my numbers didn't change significantly they are having me do the final treatment on Monday. I can do this! 11 so far, what's one more. However, they are now referring me to a radiation oncologist since my tumor markers are stuck at a pretty high level. The CT was clear but there must be something hiding somewhere. I will also be having another PETScan as well. So I guess my plans for getting back to running may be delayed some bit longer.
I was pretty down when we got home so I didn't go out for a walk even though I probably would have felt better for it. I will get one in tomorrow and Sunday since I will be out of it for most of next week.
Thanks @yirara for the link to the study. I will read through it and some of the other studies it references.
@Laurz9191 - that is some serious mud and water! At first I thought it was a river until I noticed where the path came out from under!
@daria0919 - I don't recall the ages of your granddaughters but do they have bikes they could ride along with you while you run? They might even think it is fun. Just an idea but I am sure your DH will step up and play with them while you get a run in.
I hope everyone in the path of the storms here in the US can get out for a run before they hit and then curl up by the fireplace and stay nice and warm! We have another front coming through with little rain for us but cold (for us) temps behind it. This will probably translate to another round of storms moving into TX and on across the US.12 -

@shanaber sorry it wasn't the news you were hoping for and you have to do 1 more 😪

@shanaber oh no... I totally get being disappointed and discouraged. So sorry.. 😥😥😥🙁 I hope that PET scan finds whatever is causing your blood work to show tumor markers. Did your thigh feel better? I know that was bothering you a few weeks back. I guess they could not give you a blood transfusion before the last chemo to help with your energy?0

Too funny you guys!! 😂😂
My hubby’s great!4 -
2 on treadmill this morning. 16:31 pace.
Pouring rain here. The predicted icing did not happen, so that’s good.
Might stop raining by 4:30 fingers crossed 🤞
Hoping to get a walk outside if it does.
Four year old granddaughter has strep, but seems to be a mild case. Antibiotic started this morning. Hoping our immune systems keep us healthy.

Great running @kbrown1527 . You are making up for lost time quickly. Nice run on the treadmill. I hope your granddaughter feels better soon and the rest of you avoid getting sick.
@daria0919 I hope you enjoy your granddaughter's visit and get to get out for a run or two.
@shanaber I hope your last treatment doesn't put you down for too long. I also hope the other tests turn out to be good news. Big hugs and lots of prayers coming your way.

When you sign up for an event just because they have the COOLEST (pun intended) Bling.9

@juliet3455 I love a fun medal! So many look the same so while I don't really choose races based on the bling, I really like it when they step outside the box for the medals.
@shanaber I'm sorry to hear your tumor markers aren't dropping as expected. I hope the PET solves the mystery and you do ok with the last treatment.5 -
Jan total: 33.8 miles
YTD: 33.8/1200 miles
1/1: 8 miles
1/3: 7.3 miles
1/4: 6 miles
1/5: 4.5 miles

Last long run before race day. Despite being back to flat ground, this one was tough. More of a mental toughness run. I am tired after not sleeping well last night and my legs are fatigued from the week on the hills. But it was a sunny beautiful 50 degree day so I went. It was a great day to run and I'm glad I got it done even if my legs were lead the entire time. Now, on to the taper!!7 -
02/01 3.52 miles
03/01 3.56 miles
04/01 3.50 miles
05/01 4.03 miles
Total 14.61/50 miles
The weather has done a complete turnaround. It was blue sky & no wind so ran a bit further then planned to.
@elizury - I hadn’t heard of OK GO so googled. They’re brilliant but I think I’m a few runs from that. @martaindale @quilteryoyo & @Scott6265 definitely cud give them a run for their money 😄
@shanaber - it makes me sad to think of what you are going through but you’re a strong lady!

12.00/85.00 mile goal
According to Garmin, I slept 7h29m last night, but I got a sleep score of only 33/100 because my stress level stayed really high all night. I was up a lot during the night and felt like I had the beginnings of an acid reflux attack and my tummy just wasn't feeling the best. When I got up this morning, I started having tummy issues, so energy level is very low and I'm tired. I did finally feel like I could get in a treadmill walk and it wasn't as bad as I expected. I wound up walking 2.0 miles at 3.8 mph. My avg HR was 99 with a max of 108 bpm. I'm feeling some better, so hopefully it was a 24 hour thing and I'll be okay tomorrow.7 -
Snow was predicted for today. I was watching the weather radar and wanted to time it so I could run when it first started to snow, but the sidewalks weren't covered yet. I saw the snow radar cover our town and out I went. I figured it would start to snow soon. But it didn't. No snow at all until about an hour after I got home. But it was nice to be outside just the same.

@juliet3455 That is a very "cool" medal. I see why you decided to sign up. What is the distance?
Great run @martaindale ! Especially when your legs felt like lead. Those are the hardest ones to get through. Enjoy your taper week.
@elizury and @Mari33a I had to look up the video too. They are amazing. I'd wind up in the hospital if I tried to do that.
Nice run @emptydog . I'm sorry you missed running in the snow though.

@shanaber very sorry you didn't get the good news you were hoping for, but hope the next test can find some answers for you 😔
2024 goal is to concentrate more on speed this year. Day 6 ✅
Didn't plan anything today, but got in a PR for a HM this afternoon. It was pretty good weather, but felt like I was running against the wind both ways on the out and back. But very happy to have knocked out a HM for the month as the weather in January can be very unpredictable.
