I got a mile in to make sure I hit target. Thank you all for your good wishes. My face still hurts the most and my left side is a bit stiff but I'm ok, and pleased to make target!
Everyone has done great this month especially with all the bad weather and life stuff!

I walked to pick up packages, 1km total, 2 days in a row... that's all I've got activity-wise other than sitting in a cold tub. And I don't feel very good.
So here's a guinea pig update. Just keep scrolling if you're here for running content 😆10 -

Easy miles again this morning. Garmin hasn't had me do any hm pace workouts so I'm thinking I'll work one in later this week. I find those really helpful in building the muscle memory to help me maintain pace during races.8 -
@AlphaHowls That's a lot of crazy laps. I hope you are feeling better tomorrow.
@Mari33a . I'm glad to hear that you aren't too sore today. Great job reaching your goal for the month.

It was another nice morning and another great 6 mile run. That brings my total to 141.7 for the month. Great running everyone. Congratulations to all who met their goal and to all who gave it their all. Either way, you did great! It seems like there were lots of ups and downs this month for everyone. Looking forward to next month. See you all in the February thread!
@polskagirl01 Those Guinea pigs are adorable!6 -
2 on treadmill this evening.
@quilteryoyo so sorry to read about your cousin and all that you and your family are going through. Great job on hitting your miles.

@polskagirl01 LOVE the guinea pig pics!!!
6.2 miles this evening. I have developed some blisters on a few toes, and I'm thinking it is caused by shoes being overdue for replacement. So I ran in my Kinvaras, which I really don't like, hence almost new. It was a big struggle even at a slow pace. I've said I before was never going to wear them again, but I was desperate today. But now I am REALLY not ever going to wear them again for running. They just have zero energy return.
Anyway, that closes out January. Was a low mileage month due to weather and out of town funeral, so missed goal, but happy with what I got done.7 -
Great running @kgirlhart !
Thanks you @daria0919 . You did great in Jan!
@scott6255 You did great to be only 6 miles short of your lofty goal with all that went on this month.
Cousin Gary info under the spoiler. We did get all of Gary's stuff out of the assisted living today. With both neighbors helping, we only had to make one trip and were able to leave some stuff up there that other people in the facility could use and I didn't want to bring home. That was helpful too.
They did get Gary moved from ICU to their Community Living Center in a hospice bed. Mom and I went to see him, but he didn't rouse up while we were there. They had just gotten him settled and had given him a shave, so figure he was just worn out from all of the activity. The facility is nice as are all the people there that we met.
One of the hospice doctors told me this morning that, if nothing changes for the better, he is thinking it is a matter of days, not weeks. So, I am going to do my best to see him almost everyday, at least for a few minutes. I really wish we could have gotten him closer, since it is a good 2.5 hours for a round trip, but he is in a good place.8 -
So much great running this month with all the crazy weather so whether you made your goal or not you are successful just getting out when you could or running on that dreaded treadmill.
@Mari33a - I am so glad you are safe but so sad that you fell trying to get away from them. Were you able to get a police report in?
@quilteryoyo - sending you hugs during these difficult times. I am so glad your mom is there with you along with having great neighbors and friends.
@polskagirl01 - love the guinea pigs! Especially that the are doing strength training! I am impressed that you were able to get in a couple of walks. I hope the exhaustion goes away soon and you feel better!
I got out today for what I thought would be a run/walk but my body and especially my legs said nope. So instead I walked as fast as I could manage and went a bit further than I have been. I was exhausted when I got home but I am so happy I was able to get out. Rain is coming tonight and likely through next week. We may get a break at some point hopefully. Oh and I exceeded my nominal 20 mile goal and made it to 31miles for the month. This is the most since April of last year! I can't wait to get back to my 100mile months again. Something to work toward.
