@Veggie_mama - I would look into getting a dietician consult if I were in your position. Get some professional advice.

Feeling hungry lately and craving sweets. Upped the dose to 1.0 on Friday. I hope it starts to kick in soon.

Hey there gang! I am 56 and started taking Semaglutide in November. I am taking 50 units now and I think I found my “sweet spot”. I am down 20 lbs so far! My question is what does everyone eat in a regular basis? Macros and calories. I feel I could be doing better it I had a bit more information on what to eat. Hope everyone is having a great day happy Monday!

Currently on 1.0mg (about to step to the next level this coming Saturday) and am currently 18 pounds down from my start on December 3, 2023. Thanks for creating this new chain and space for people to come together about this. There is a lot of negative connotation out there that this medication is a "cheat" or a "quick fix" and that is the furthest thing from the truth. I've posted on other discussions recently about my journey and fighting that stigma. Glad to see a positive space for sharing!

I started taking "Zepbound", two weeks ago which is a similar drug to Ozempic/Wegovy (although a differernt compound). It completely stops your appetite (I almost never get hungry), so I am able to eat smaller portions. I also noticed that I don't have the obsession with food that I had before. I do have the constipation, though, but it doesn't bother me too much. The weight loss is slow, but steady. Long way to go.

I'm taking Metformin 1000mg. Combined with my discipline, I have lost a bunch. 30 lbs since Nov. 1st and reached normal BMI 2 weeks ago. Too fast that I "let go" and indulged in the New Year and the Lunar New Yr celebrations.

I'd like to lose 10 more lbs to be near middle of normal BMI range.

I consume quite a lot of plain coffee (2 cups from 8am to 3pm) and occasionally energy drinks though. Otherwise I feel emotionally "blue", I guess from low calories or low carbs.

    Congratulations!

Are you mixing in any strength training to combat the little muscle loss that happens (in all forms of rapid weight loss)?

Hey everyone! New here! Started Zepbound 2.5 today for a month then my dr is moving me up to 5mg then we will talk about how I’m feeling and moving to 7.5 and so on if I want. My question is how long after someone started this journey did you see results?

Poking my head in to the thread to say that my Dr is suggesting one of these semaglutides for my NAFLD.

I’m a T2 diabetic, but my A1C is well controlled on Metformin alone.

That said, it would be awesome to get that liver back to something resembling normal.

Not sure which I will be prescribed.

I started wegovy .25 on Feb 9th as of today, I am on my third shot of .50 and have lost 23 lbs. I am tracking no matter what I eat, and some days are not overly good. I have another 150 lbs to go. I am not sure if I should fast with being on this meds. I did one 24 hours, just because I was not hungery. Has anyone else fasted while taking wegovey or ozempic? I see it has been since January since people have been posting. Is there another group that is working with the wegovy and ozempic? Thanks Brandi

I would be extremely cautious about fasting in any case. (Not intermittent fasting, that’s different)

If you’re not feeling hungry, you should probably at the very least, have a meal replacement shake or something similar like a nutritious smoothie. Going for any length of time without a base level of nutrition is unwise.

As always, discuss with your doctor. I am not a medical professional.

One problem with a short term fast is the inability to do a proper refeed on a GLP1 drug. Your weekly average calories and protein would be quite low if you fast on these drugs. Otherwise I think a day or two fast is a great idea to improve insulin sensitivity.

On my least hungry day I still try to reach my protein goal.

So I just started the low dose of Semaglutide Sunday night. What a difference!! The food noise is completely gone. I have small snacks through the day and a small dinner. Even when I start craving something in mg head my body says no. It’s wild ! I have over 100 to lose to get to a healthy BMI so I’ll be on it for a while 🤞🏻it works for me because I need it

Hi everyone, I just started Wegovy yesterday. Looking to connect with others i have about 100# to lose. I tried Ozempic for about 2 months(if didnt go well). first I overdosed on my 1st injection, then all the other weeks I got terrible heartburn and indegestion. I hope Wegovy compound is slightly differnet and manageable for my body. I had managed to lose 70# in 6 months in 2019-20 with lifestlye changes, but then had a lot of stress and gained 20 then another 20 and another 20 each year until today. I have never been able to lost weight like I did back then and without any drugs or surgeries. Now I cant seem to lose 1 #, I am training for a 1/2 marathon and I want to keep active for cardio reasons, just need the weight to come off. anyone have any advice on running plans or weightlifting plans for running?

My understanding is that Wegovy is just a higher dose version of Ozempic. Either way, hope it works for you!

I started Wegovy on June 8, and have had no problem. Maybe slight nausea after one meal. I also had a Gastric Sleeve surgery in 2015, so my restrictions and food intake calories will be much different. I lost 4 pounds the first week and I am on week 2 as of last night. Down another 2 pounds today. So far the food noise is gone, even on 0.25.

I have been using a compounded version of Wegovy since February of this year. I have lost 20 lbs but need to lose 45 more. But I know this has to be forever. I had to go the compound way because after several attempts I disappointingly found out that my insurance does not cover weightloss medication…no matter how much you may qualify for it. The only thing I was contending with is some nausea and constipation - until yesterday. After titrating up to the highest dose, going from 2.0 to 2.4 mg, I woke up not hungry so I still ate an applesauce and premiere choc shake. Mid morning I felt shaky so I ate a cheese stick. Half way through I got sick - first time ever on this medication. Now I am so scared to eat. Do I do bananas applesauce and broth to avoid getting sick from now on?

Hey everyone! I started my weight loss journey at the end of Feb and lost 17 pounds on a low carb diet before starting compounded semaglutide on May 8th.

I'm on my 6th dose (four weeks at .25 / two weeks at .5 so far) and have lost 18 more pounds on the medication, for a total of 35lbs down. For now, I walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes at a 3mph pace 5x/week, and 3x per week I also do arm exercises with 5lb weights while on the treadmill. I will ramp up my weights/cardio as my health permits.

I did notice that I have a big drop when starting a new dose, meaning, the week I started and the week I went up in dose. Curious to see if that continues as I move up in dose, or if anyone else noticed that happening.

    Week 1: -5 lbs
    Week 2: -4 lbs
    Week 3: -2 lbs
    Week 4: +1 lb
Week 5: -6 lbs (moved up to .5)
    Week 6: -2 lbs

    I’m Ozempic-curious.

I’ve read that ozempic stops the “food noise” in people’s brains. I would love to just not constantly think about food the same way I don’t constantly think about other substances that can be problematic for people.

Can anyone confirm or deny for themselves?

I want to be someone who can know that my favorite food is in the house and not have to actively think about not eating it.

It didn’t start calming my food noise until I got on a stronger dose. I did notice that I had a change in my normal or even favorite foods that I had liked. Those foods no longer sounded appealing to me or would make me nauseous thinking about it.

@BecomingMoreAwesome - It definitely stops the food noise for me. Not only do I not think about food and have to remember to eat in general, when I do go to eat something - so much food is not even appealing to me anymore. I have no desire for anything fried, no sugar cravings, no heavy carbs.

It did this for me pretty much right away, it was kind of shocking.

I took my first injection and the next morning I went to a coffee house that also sells a wide variety of delicious homemade truffles.

That case could have been full of pretty rocks for all I cared about eating them.

How and at what dose it works for people varies but it absolutely charming relationship to food.

It definitely stops the food noise for me. Today I had a 2" x 2" piece of homemade cake to be polite at a shared dinner and was completely satisfied after two bites! Honestly, I didn't want the cake at all. Before Wegovy I would have wanted a larger piece and secretly been longing for seconds.

Hello everyone...just starting my journey with the injections. Im no stranger to weight loss and MFP but planning to change for good this time. I have Mounjaro but don't start til later this week when I can meet with my provider. I'm 66 years old and have numerous health problems including T2D. I already take Jardiance for the diabetes which works great but I need to lose alot of weight for my other health problems. I'm a little nervous of all the side effects but I'm pretty much at rock bottom so here I am.
