200+ Hot For Halloween!

Good morning, gals!!
I'm feeling super motivated today. I was bad and had pasta for dinner last night. It was whole wheat linguine with alfredo sauce. I managed to stay pretty close to my calorie goal despite eating two pieces of garlic bread. Dang bread. But, I didn't exercise at all yesterday, I didn't have a single free minute of my day to spare.
Today, however, is when I get my power workout in. I'm eating the last bit of leftover linguine for lunch today (its so darn good!), but I should be able to burn it off. I leave work at 2:30, have class until 7:20, then I hit the gym. Hubby has guy's night and my son is with my inlaws overnight, so I can stay at the gym as long as I want. Last wednesday I did 2.13 miles on the treadmill, 3 miles on the bike, then I did a 7:48 power mile on the elliptical followed by 100 crunches. I felt like superwoman. I probably won't do the bike today (I hate it, but my sister was with me and she wanted to do it). I'm on W6D3 of c25k, and its a 25 minute continuous run. Ain't happenin'. But, I will try. The farthest I've gone non stop so far is 10 minutes, but I find myself needing much smaller and less frequent walk breaks. Progress is progress, I suppose. Pam, maybe I should get a glow in the dark necklace for tonight's run? So anyway, that's my day. It is crazy that I so look forward to Wednesday nights at the gym.
Rikki: Please give us an update...any new news? I'm thinking of you and your family non stop.
Hmmm...all of a sudden, I can't remember anything. But hello to all of you and I hope you all have a productive day full of good choices!!0 -
No news yet. I won't know until Sunday and he could leave from med testing monday. I mean I'm not so much worrid about him or me. I know hs good at his job, and ill find plenty to do. My youngest should be fine but my 5yr Old son idolizes his dad and wants to be with him all the time. I just don't want to see him hurting and there's nothing I can do about it. I'm home sick today so I'm going to do absolutely nothing but sleeeeeep. Thank u for all the kind words and prayers. Ill keep u posted.0

Katheryne- YAY FOR COLLARBONES!!!
Crystal- I've had Tough Mudder ads show up for months on facebook. Warrior Dash is about a 3 mile course and I THINK TM is like a 10 mile course. Yeah, I'm starting small with my Warrior Dash dreams but a Tough Mudder race would be freaking AWESOME. And it's totally ok about adding another L on my name. Some of my own family members don't know how to spell my name and I'm even used to responding to "Kendra" so I'm not stressing about the extra letter. That just reminded me of a joke by the comedian Mitch Hedburg. Of course it won't be funny the way I tell/type it, but the joke is he had a girlfriend by the name of Lynn and he broke up with her and dated a girl named Lyn. But Lyn would get mad at him for calling her his old girlfriend's name if he held the N too long.
Kiki- the important part is that you're logging food. We totally understand if you need to lurk for a while on the board cause of time restrictions. YAY FOR THE 14s fitting!!!
Annette- YAY for having a sweet hubby!!!
Victoria- That's the burn I'm used to hearing from you!!!
Rain- Yay for hubby being out with the boys and son visiting the grandparents!!! I love when I know I can stay at the gym as long as I want without feeling rushed.
Rikki- sorry about the stressful situation with the hubby. :frown: Yall are in my prayers.
ok everyone, I need to know what kind of badges you want so that I don't spend forever making them and then no one uses them. I'm working on the first one for the end of this challenge and I have a couple backgrounds I can use for others. I would like to make badges that say something like "I completed # out of # goals," but everyone has a different number of goals to start with that that would be impossible to do for everyone. Maybe next challenge we can say you need to have at least 5 goals to get one of those badges? Then I can just create "I completed 1 out of 5 goals," "I completed 2 out of 5 goals," etc. I would also make a badge that doesn't say anything about goals in case you didn't want to have 5 goals. But I'm thinking I definitely need one for the race lengths. What else though? (OH! I can make a "I lost the most % of the 200+ Hot for Halloween Challenge" and a "I lost the most weight in the 200+ Hot for Halloween Challenge.")
As for me: I ran W1D1 of c25k last night. I wasn't planning to do that....I turned on my ipod, started the nike+ app and then turned on the c25k app without really thinking about it. I was able to complete all 8 minute long runs. I'm doing good staying out of Mr. Reunion's cabinet so far. I'm happy about that cause I know there are cheetos in there. om nom nom. I love cheetos. .....TOM showed up yesterday. :frown: UGH. But I dropped another pound today. I always gain pre-TOM and lose during TOM, which is great to be able to recognize it, but it still freakin sucks. Sodium was still way too high yesterday even though cals were good.
It's so funny how I read everyone's posts in the morning, open a second window to respond, finally catch up and hit "refresh" and there's always another new post/person to respond to. I LOVE IT. lol Gotta post this before someone else posts again lol.0 -
Pam - I don't mind small town life in general - I've lived in many, many other small towns in my life - but this particular town, I hate. I spent most of my life here, even though we moved around a lot for my dad's job (this was always "home base," and I've got a lot of negativity associated with it because of things in the past. It always shocks people when they realize Montana has about 1 million people, whereas most metro areas have more than that. :P
Kiki - Yay for your NSV! I love corduroys.
Rikki - I hope you feel better soon
Haha Kendal - You seem to be super, super on-top of the badges. Thoroughly impressed.
A "journal" of binge eating... I can so see myself in this: http://twelve-in-twelve.com/?p=16250 -
So, I've gotten the rooms exchanged, the bf painted my room for me yesterday (on his only day off), and I think it looks great. He had the bright idea that it should be two colors (purple and pink: purple for royalty and pink for femininity), which I was nervous about, but I got some shimmer gray curtains and a black, white, and gray bedspread (plus the furniture is black and gray), and it all looks so lovely together. I'm thoroughly exhausted, and my body is in serious pain, not to mention that I woke up with a massive headache from sleeping in that freshly painted room (YEP, I'm that dumbass). My plan for today, once the head is completely calm is to wipe down the furniture and set everything up. The only thing we worried about setting up last night was the bed so I could sleep.
Now on to better things...YOU ALL
So, what's with all the +s on the spreadsheet for this week:noway: ??? If we go up now, the odds of any of us going down over the holidays is slim to none...go down now, and you might break even for New Years, ok?!?! That was more of a strong suggests (read command:devil: ) than a request.
Jessi: WTG on being this week's Biggest Loser...you win.......................................a glass of water on me :drinker: !!! As I'm reading farther down the thread, I'm thinking that if you planted the seed of increasing sports availability, you would probably find some others who want to play with you (not in that way, but you know what I mean). Anyway...like the movie says...if you build it, they will come
Karen: HI...long time no see! Boo about the house, but YAY for the 5K........you too get a glass of water on me :drinker: !!!
Katheryne: You probably didn't need that coffee yesterday as much as you needed water to wash out all of the sodium you consumed the night before.......................SO, here's a glass of water on me :drinker: !!! BTW: That is NOT a silly NSV...that is a GREAT NSV!!! Anytime that we can recognize our own successes is a reason to SHOUT!
Rikki: OMG, hun, I'm so nervous for you! It must be crazy hard to be scared and proud and worried about your babies all at the same time:flowerforyou: You should have told them that you need a little more notification, and I'm right behind you praying that they find him "broken" too!
Apryl and Jessi: Don't try to understand the whole height thing...my TWINS are 5' 0" (barely) and 5' 5" (with a little extra).
Sarah: I have been swearing that today was Friday since yesterday morning...now I'm just swearing because it's NOT!
Kendal: I don't know...I feel like this group is so much more than these challenges we are setting for ourselves. I'd almost like to create a 200+ thread identity that sticks with us and have a badge just for that. Having said that, I think that those who have completed their 1st, 5th, and 10th 5K/marathon/warrior dash/etc deserve a badge of honor. Just my humble opinion! Hmmm...we could have a 200+ biggest loser badge that can be worn for the entire following month after the winner's been announced; then it would trade places, unless that person is the biggest loser again.
Victoria: That is a crazy schedule! WOW!
Lacey: Hmmm to the menu choices...just hmmmmmmmmmmm
Tasha: I think I could catch up with everyone else just by reading your replies...I'm now dizzy  I don't think I've played kickball since middle school :noway:
Kerry: OMG 12 miles !!! Heck yeah, one foot in front of the other...if you stopped, someone might have to come pick you up, literally!
Hannah: You sound like me...we both need a day/night OFF!
Nava: Get better, girl!
Kiki: Yay for smaller pants!!! Here's some water for you :drinker: !!
Annette: It's great that your hubby is super supportive and willing to be your partner in all of it!
Rain: You better kill that workout today...I bet it's waiting for you since you didn't go to visit yesterday
If I've missed anyone, blame it on my head and my eyes not my heart!0 -
Kiki - Awesome NSV! Congrats!
Apryl - Totally posted in that thread. I'm SO excited and it definitely gets me motivated to start on the C25K. Not only that but exercise in general. I've been watching the food, not so great with getting my @ss to the gym. But this is my new found inspiration!
Annette - That's so great that the hubby is being so supportive of you!
Rain - HI! Pasta is my weakness as well... I know what you mean...lol.
Kendallllllllll (I liked the "holding the N story ) - Yea, first time I had even heard of the Warrior Dash was when you posted something about it a few challenges ago. Now I'm hearing about the Tough Mudder thing. I certainly will be starting with the Warrior Dash as well.
About the badges: I guess I was just thinking badges in regards to completing the challenege, or even the "Biggest Loser" (% and lb wise) of the challenge, but the meeting goals idea is a good one.
So, luckily I can attribute my gain last week to TOM (I hope, lol). My TOM is so unpredictable with my IUD that I'm never really sure when it'll show up but it decided to come on Saturday right after Friday's weigh in. So I'm hoping that +3 will change soon.
Today is the first day that I didn't even feel the need to go out for a cigarette first thing in the morning. My official quit date is Saturday the 1st, but it's already 11:30, I'd usually be 2 or 3 in already and I haven't had one. At this point, I am kind of waiting for the opportunity though as I'm starting to feel some of the physical effects of nicotine withdrawl (shaky, sweaty, no-fun-ness) but the mental craving itself is gone! Woot woot!0 -
Apryl - from what I've read, the "larger" sizes tend to take longer to move down in - I'd lost almost 50lbs before moving from 22s to 20s, seriously. And then I pretty much just hung out in those, and one day realized they were way too big and tried on some 16s, so I completely bypassed 18s by not realizing it was time for a change, haha.
Victoria - that is an amazing amount of exercise! Go you! I've been wanting to try P90x but it looks like a expensive investment if I'm not fit enough to do it. Is it easy to modify I've I'm not someone that is "ripped" ?
Rainvc - nothing bad about pasta for dinner. We all have to learn to eat the things we enjoy without going overboard right? I eat pasta fairly frequently - I just keep an eye on my portions, it doesn't seem to be a problem
Kendal - I think the % and # badges sound awesome And ugh, I am in the pre-TOM gain right now, I was up 2lbs and not happy about it because I had just hit my lowest weight (that I can recall in the past FIFTEEN years), and then it shot back up. I know it'll go away soon, but it's still discouraging!
Jessiker - Me too! I hate the corduroy sound effects (gotta love big thighs, haha), but I LOVE the way they feel and look.
k2quiere - that room sounds gorgeous! You should post pictures I love the idea of mixing pink and purple.
Crystal - rooting for you on the quitting smoking! Seriously, that is one of the best things you can do for yourself. My uncle is in his 60s and had been smoking since he was a teenager. He quit about a year ago, cold turkey. I was so amazed! And even now, he's seen some health benefits from it, it's wonderful!0 -
So the holidays are right around the corner! I'm a little nervous, because last year right before my birthday (10/30) I hit a plateau that lasted the entire holiday season, up to around Valentine's Day. Seriously. I didn't gain, which I'm thankful for, but I didn't lose a single pound for all of those months. This is my second holiday season on MFP and I'm determined not to let this happen again. I'm pretty proud of myself though, pumpkin spice lattes are one of my huge weaknesses, and I've only had two (short size) since Starbucks rolled them out this year. Part of that is avoidance - I've been frequenting a different coffee shop, and my drink of choice there seems to be iced americanos with 1/2 and 1/2 and cinnamon. If I just don't go to Starbucks, I don't end up drinking their seasonal drinks, heh. Pumpkin stuff in general is a huge weakness of mine.
I think this year should be a lot better though. The largest setback last year was not being able to get in much exercise. My daughter was about a year old throughout the season and didn't like me to put her down *ever*. Our main forms of exercise had been going for long walks, and since we're in Idaho that didn't happen much during the winter. She plays on her own happily now, and joins in with a lot of the moves in the exercise dvds, so yay! Fingers crossed the weight keeps coming off over the next few months!0 -
Bobbie - Your room sounds awesome. And your bf sounds wonderful! I love your command. :P And thank you. Haha I have terrible social phobia, so me getting any kind of activity going is pretty terrifying. That and I'm terribly awkward, so yeah. I can just picture that.
Crystal - Awesome that it seems to be working for you! None so far is awesome. I'm proud of you!
Kiki - Oddly, for being such a big girl, I'm kind of lacking in the thigh department... but I do have butt and hips to spare beyond belief. :P So clothes fit all weird.
I can honestly say this morning has been bizarre if nothing else. We're not even a week into October (media months run wonky), and we've almost met our quota for sales because of 2 contracts. We had someone who wasn't even scheduled to be on our live show show up, and he's hilarious and I ended up with pictures of him and my coworker with their shirts lifted, and just plain weird stuff, and yeah. :P I'm in a pretty giggly mood this morning, and I get to take more pictures after work tonight.0 -
Hiya
Would love to join your group here
I'm Erin, a 33 yr old Mum of 2. DD is 3.5 and DS is 17 mos.
My highest weight (non-pregnancy) was 274. On July 8th I weighed in at 256. Today (and for the whole month basically-kind of a plateau right now) I'm at 220.
I think I'm coming in on this 2 weeks late - so I'll set 4 week goals...
1) To finish 30 day shred. (I've done 21 days of working out in the last 22)
2) To pick up another DVD or two and mix things up after 30DS
3) To see continued progress, either a smaller number on the scale or some smaller measurements. (I've been too obsessed with the scale lately)
4) To NOT weigh myself every day! lol0 -
Skimming through really quick to get caught up. I am telling you that this week has already kicked my butt. Monday night I started teaching my college class at night and I was exhausted when I finally got home at 10:30 pm. I walked my butt off that night and could feel the burn!
I had a ton of calories left over at the end of the day after I logged my burn but I was too tired to eat any more than I had. LOL!
Now today I already realize that I am going to have to figure out a boost in my protein on low funds as we are still struggling with hubby not working. We are getting there but it's still a day by day thing.
I also had to go shopping this weekend as I had quite a few Real Woman dollars. I made sure to buy some new pretty panties and I am glad that I got the 18/20 because not only are they looking good but they are fitting for a change instead of my older ones that continue to fall down.
Now to work on the rest of my clothes falling down as well!0 -
Erin--I'm a newbie over here too! Seems like a great bunch of gals who are very busy, active and encouraging.
My BFF and I have 2 Biggest losers to catch up on tonight. We are going to do D1L! of JM 30DS before we watch. I have no idea what to expect, but it seems to be all the rage at MFP. I need a home fitness plan to compliment my gym routine/cardio.0 -
Tasha, HOLY CRAP you have done a lot of really cool/really active stuff. I'm impressed by you.
Jessi, how's the photog website coming? You better give us a link once you've got that going!
Hosanna, I hope you get some much needed rest soon. I hate being tired/worn out. I agree with you on not wanting to spend too much time at home without the man there - I usually do that too. Its odd, but I spend so little time at home without Chris that a lot of times I feel out of place when he's not there.
Pam, I think having a schedule that I adhere to for workouts has really really helped me. I would probably slack off WAY more if I didn't have a calender with a workout that I got to cross off. Sometimes I don't follow it exactly, but its nice to know its there, pushing me to keep working.
Crystal, I am super sorry for you that the Vikings are having such a miserable start to the season. If only they could keep it together for the second half! And I completely get you being more excited about C25K with a phone app in hand... I didn't actually do that program because I didn't want to have to keep track of my running/walking intervals. I am, at my core, a very lazy person. I have to find efficient ways to get everything done. And WAY TO GO on getting a jump start on quitting smoking. I have never been a smoker, so I can't offer advice or anything... but I CAN say as a non-smoker, it makes me happy to know there will be one less smoker out in the world. I truly loathe it. Its smelly.
Kiki, YAY FOR SIZE 14! How great of a feeling is that?!?! And it IS completely true that the larger sizes take longer to come off. I was a size 18 at 240 pounds, and I didn't get into a size 12 until about 180 pounds or so.... maybe even less. I was in a size 10 by 170.
Annette, that is awesome that the hubby is being so supportive of your active lifestyle. I love when that happens... plus you're rubbing off on him!
Victoria, hellz yeah woman! :drinker: Look at you and your killer mega awesome calorie burn. Love love love it. That's the Victoria who I know and love, who inspired me to be a runner!
Rain, I also cannot stand stationary bikes at the gym. They have always KILLED my legs and I'm just not a fan. Biking outside? Now that's something I do love. And like I told Pam with the running... just keep telling yourself to put one foot in front of the other and don't stop. You'll be cruisin' long distances in no time. Trust me. In the beginning of July, a 2 mile run basically killed me.
Rikki, just thinking about you and the hubbs and praying that he gets to stay home, or that if he has to go, that he stays safe. Big thanks to you and your family for all the sacrifices you make in the name of our safety and freedom.
Kendal, omg a Tough Mudder is 10 miles. That sounds terrifying and fantastic. I MUST research this. And I think badge-wise, a % loss and # lost winner badge for each challenge is awesome, plus race lengths would be great. I think the goal-thing sounds cool, but also like a total pain to try and keep track of! I also freaking love cheetos. They are so cheezy and delicious and wonderful. But who I am kidding? I love all things cheese-related. Last weekend I went out to dinner at an amazing chop house and they had mac n cheese with brie, bacon, and spinach. I might still have dreams about its deliciousness.
Bobbie, the room does sound awesome. Hope the headache has cleared up, silly woman sleepin' in the paint fumes! Yeesh!
Hi Erin! Welcome!
My computer systems at work are slowly yet surely getting upgraded, which is awesome, but completely obnoxious right right now because I have 2 separate systems that I'm trying to work with, and I can do some things in one, but not the other, and vice versa. Its like being on a scavenger hunt to figure out where to find things. I'm annoyed by it.
I've decided that I need to invest in a pull up bar, because I really really want to know if I can do a pull up. I think I just might be able to. That would be incredible. And something I've never been able to do. I did back/biceps/abs this morning, and I was feeling super strong and awesome. Who knows.
I am (timidly, terrifying, nervously) consdering running the Chicago Marathon next October. I've always been a "go big or go home" kind of girl, so this somewhat makes sense for me. And its over a year away, so there would be plenty of time to train. And Chicago is my FAVORITE. But that's a lot of miles. And what if I get injured? Or fail? Or poop my pants mid run? (lol... yeah this happens to people!)
Anyway... that's all for me for now.0 -
Who has an AMAZING boyfriend who folded my laundry while I laid on the couch in full on TOM induced pouty mode?? <---this girl0
-
So, I had a first tonight... I got hollered at while running -- and not in a nice way. "Run, Forrest, Run!! Move that *kitten*!"
I wanted to run that truck down and poke that guy in the eye. "Hey jacka$$! How fast would YOU be going after 5 miles?!"
Some people! I tell ya!0 -
Man....lots to catch up on!!! Just got back in town from work. Ate and drank way too much, per usual.
Got back on the wagon today. I tried zumba for the first time tonight.....lemme just say, I don't have rhythm. And I couldn't find zumba in the exercise search so I just logged walking. I though that was weird.0 -
Kiki - P90X is easily modified to any level. They generally show easy, mod, and hard versions. The key is not trying to do too much too quick... The cardio is not low impact which can be difficult on sore joints. What I really like is the weight lifting - I tend to skip it for cardio when not doing P90X.
Megan - I log Zumba as low impact aerobics. If you did tons of the jumps, you could try reg aerobics.
As for me - Ching, Ching, Ching... There goes $40 and 3 hours driving to see relatives at the casino. But I had fun. Food choices - not good... But, I logged them. Time for sleep...0 -
Kerry - It's coming, but slowly. I've got some picture up on flickr right now (www.flickr.com/jessica-elaine) but that's about it. I want to buy a domain name, so I have to really commit to something before I'll spend the money. I'll be uploading some of tonight's pictures on there in a bit; I'm pretty happy with how some of them turned out. Totally think you can do the Chicago Marathon next year!!
Sarah - Eff 'em. Stupid people.0 -
Check-in for Wed 2571 burned, ?? Accuracy but 1736 eaten (I had to guess at my 1/2 hamburg, share of nacho appitizer, and portion of fries)... I ate only 585 before going since I knew choices would be bad... Would it be rude to take my food scale into a resteraunt? Just kidding... Not sure I'll like my weigh-in tomorrow. My body feels like it was run over by a Mac truck (thank you Tony Horton!!!) so I'm sure some is water weight plus yesterday's good tasting bad for me food... I'll be pounding the water today (have to see if i can match Kerry's 18 glasses-since it worked so well for her....) Ex yesterday was sh/arms video. I was proud to use 7 pound weights for everything but tricep ex which could only lift 4 pounds (that's probably why I struggle with push ups)...
My one and only client today cancelled!!! YEAH!!! unfortunately, I have tons of computer and paperwork to do...I'll try to catch ip later... Only 1 more day until the weekend!!!0 -
Kendal - I think you should keep the badges simple - otherwise, you'll go crazy customizing them. What about being awarded one only if you complete the full 6 challenge and lose weight? I wouldn't include the % lost since well each lose a different amount.0
-
Hey gals! I had myself in an interesting predicament last night. I went to the gym, did my run, burned 391 cals and that put me at 1600 available calories. I didn't know what to do. I thought, if I kept working out I'd have too large a deficit. So I just did my run, went home and had a snack and went to bed.
I bought some Clif Bars yesterday and had a Maple Nut for breakfast. Pretty good, and it was actually tough to finish the whole thing.
Well....gotta get some work done!0 -
Rain - that's when a smoothie (strawberry, banana, milk) or milk with whey protien comes in handy.
I've got dinner in the crockpots (navy bean/tomato soup and sweet n spicy pork) and 4 meals (4 soups & 4 main dishes) planned for the weekend/next week. I'm grocery shopping tommorrow. I'm so looking forward to the weekend. Everything fits into my low cholesterol diet:)0 -
Hey all! Sorry I have been MIA for the past couple of days lol! Unfortunately I have not run a single mile in that time and I'm seriously getting behind! :frown: I'm kinda wondering if I am going to be able to make it to 75 miles. I'm sure I can, it is just going to take a lot of work on my part. I HAVE been eating healthy though! The cafeteria food for the past week has been including so much fried things its ridiculous. A couple of days ago I had to make a sandwich because literally EVERYTHING was unhealthy:grumble: No fresh fruit, the salad bar didn't have any salad that was actually green, and the menu included pizza, chicken fried steak, tater tots, general tso's chicken and a bunch of other random gross stuff lol. So sad. Hopefully there will be better choices today!
-Rachel-0 -
Oh my weight is 105.6 currently! Sorry about waiting so long!0
-
Alright... back at work today!
Yesterday I took a "sick day" and ended up having the busiest work day I've had in months. So much for that. Feeling much better though. Throat is still a smidge sore and there's a snottal presence, but overall better.
Is it the weekend yet? Today I have to drive to Timbuktu (well, 48 miles away) to deliver a training session. Blarg.0 -
I'm doing that thing again where I'm weighing myself daily and wanting to shoot the scale. Last week I ate under calories every day (even on the weekend!) and exercised every day and gained 2 pounds, (which I can only assume is from eating poorly the week before). This week I've also been eating under calories and exercising, and still the scale hasn't budged. It's not TOM and I'm drinking water, so WTH? I know, I know, stop weighing myself every day. I meant to eat extra calories yesterday to try the zig zag thing, but after I ran I still wound up with only 1450 or so net calories (over 1800 total). Urg.
Anyway, enough of my whining!
Nava, I hope you're feeling better. Especially if you have to drive forever to do a training session!
Kendal, yay for a sweet bf! I agree about keeping the badges simple so it doesn't drive you crazy.
Sarah (WnT), what the...?? Stupid jerk! I bet he hasn't even come close to being able to run what you can!
Kerry, I am sure you can do a pull up. You're seriously hardcore! That's another reason that you can totally do the Chicago marathon next year too. Also, I'm sure you won't poop your pants.
Kiki, I'm right there with ya about the pumpkin stuff. DELICIOUS!! I always make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies around the holidays, and I'm looking to see if there's a modification I can make in the recipe to make them a little healthier.
Crystal, way to go on quitting smoking!!
Bobbie, I'm trying hard to obey your command! So far the scale isn't giving in to my effort, but here's hoping.
Jessi, yay, the county I used to live in near DC had over a million people in it, and that was just one of the many counties in the surburbs! Way way WAY too many people, if you ask me. A place with 1 million people in the whole state sounds nice to me. I just had to go look up the population of the state of West Virginia and apparentely in 2009 the population was about 1,820,000...much nicer that the DC area, but still not as good as your Montana.
OH, I almost forgot! I bumped it up to 35 minutes of running last night, woohoo!! Do you all ever get that feeling of "I can't really be doing this" when you workout sometimes? Like with my running, I actually think "Well, but I'm going so slow...maybe I'm not REALLY running for 35 minutes..." I've even asked my bf "Hey, does it look like I'm running, or more like just walking fast?" (He said yes, it looks like I'm running) I know, so dumb, right? I still can't believe that my body is doing the things it's doing!0 -
Okay - no time to read but super excited (and very scared - think I have finally lost all degrees of sanity) and needed to share.
Following suggestion from my (jogging partner) friend last night and without giving it too much (or should that be any) real thought, applied for and got into London Moonwalk - May 2012. Thousands of people take part, it is overnight and it is the London Marathon track - not part of it - all of it - 26.2 miles.
Without all the motivation and support I gain from the ladies on this thread, I would not have believed that I would a) be able to do it b) have had the confidence to apply for it or c) know that you lot will be there, cheering me on and offering support/advice when I stray from training or lose belief that it is achievable.
YUP - scary and excited. THAAAAAANK YOU xx
ps will attempt to catch up on reading replies soon. Love to all x0 -
Megan - I think maybe dance or aerobics would work for Zumba
Victoria - Thank you I'll definitely have to give it a try! I used to hate weight lifting because it seemed so boring, but I've found if I do it along with a video (I'm using Jillian Michael's No More Trouble Zones right now) it's a lot of fun!
navajoon - isn't that how it always goes? Whenever I stay home to rest I end up cleaning the house, catching up on paperwork, or whatever needs doing instead of actually *resting*

I remembered subbing apple sauce in pumpkin muffins before, it looks like you can do it with cookies too Last year I did some muffins using a can of pumpkin along with a box of spice cake mix, heh, I based that on this recipe http://www.hungry-girl.com/newsletters/raw/367 With the spice cake instead of devil's food it did taste just like pumpkin spice muffins.0 -
Kiki, thank you thank you THANK YOU!! Those look just like the cookies I make, and I think it's a nearly identical recipe. The big difference (HUGE difference) is that the recipe you posted calls for applesauce whereas the recipe I've been making uses Crisco (yuck). I can't wait to try these!
Annette, here's to your May marathon! :drinker: Nice!0 -
Pam - Trade me!!! I can totally understand the "running v. walking fast" thing, too - yay for running. I want to run, but outside isn't an option between allergies/clumsiness. Really debating between buying a treadmill and just joining the gym. I just hate paying $40/month when all I'm using is a treadmill!
It was in the 30's when I got up this morning. It's supposed to be 90 this weekend. WTH?! Apparently I'm also working Saturday, so that sucks. Nerd has a few days off, though, so at least we'll get out and take a walk and whatnot once it cools down a bit in the evening.0
