Thanks everyone!
@Laurz9191 Great job on the speedy treadmill run this morning. I hope you are able to get in a nice easy run this afternoon.2 -
@quilteryoyo great news!
No run for me today. Trying to take it slow still with miles. My run yesterday was quite slow and afterwards I had some pain. But it’s gorgeous out so I will be going for a walk if nothing else!
Looking forward to the weekend.

IW this morning. 2.2 miles 14:30 pace

Nice and easy 11.3km for run #2. It was really windy in parts but the sun was shining and it had warmed up some from this morning .
87.8/250km for March.6 -
05.03 4.5km 36min 8:06/km - 12 stride repeats
06.03 6.2km 51min 8:12/km - 10, 5, 5, 5min intervals
08.03 7.0km 57min 8:09/km - slow
17.72km/80km, 3.2km behind
Slow 7km. It was about the max I was able to run. Annoying: I guess I'll never get to 10km. Oh well.. still had fun.5 -
Basically sad: I thought I could get to 10km. But in about 2.5 weeks I'll have a muscle biopsy taken in my tight to finally figure out why exercise is so difficult for me. That basically means no exercise for a bit until the incision is healed. Sigh. This time my calendar prevented me from getting to 10k.10

March Goal: 130 Miles
3/1: 3.55 miles
3/3: 10.25 miles
3/4: 3.35 miles
3/5: 7.02 miles
3/6: 7.04 miles
3/8: 6.26 miles
37.47/130 miles completed for March
I took a rest day yesterday because it was stormy so I ran 6.25 miles this morning. It was still kind of drizzly, but no thunder. It was a fair run. I wasn't feeling it starting out, then I felt pretty good. But then I was just kind of ready to be done. I did see a great blue heron. He was flying over a drainage ditch that was running water. He was pretty cool.
It never occurred to me that some of y'all wouldn't know what a pumpjack was. I don't know why I didn't think of that. There have been several times when someone mentioned something and I had to google it because I didn't know what it was. If you are interested, I am sharing a picture of a pumpjack. This one is in the parking lot of my office, right outside my window.

It reminds me of the @CATs which @AlphaHowls finds as strays @kgirlhart - lived in Tx and even ABilene west Tx since 1983 and never ever heard those called that.... Of course I never lived in midland either.
2.44 miles this morning. The first part was tough due to overeating and it was HOT and threatening rain. And then oops. It microburst and we had straightline winds with a front come thru which made all the leaves in the entire neighborhood go running at once. It was am impressive front and I was staying close to home anyway because of the thunder and lightning even tho I could also see clear skys. Turns out this wind WAS crazy and even took down trees around. Anyway, I went home and decided to do my weights and abs while I waited for the storm to finish so I could at least go back out and finish 2 miles.

Thanks @codygirlfriday Great job listening to your body. I hope a walk day will clear up any niggles and you'll have a good run tomorrow.
Nice work @daria0919 .
Great job with your second run @Laurz9191 .
@yirara I'm sorry you didn't reach your goal before you have your surgery. Hopefully you will get answers and will reach it later in the year! I was glad to see that you had fun anyway. That's the most important thing.
Nice run @kgirlhart . Are the pumpjacks noisy?
You did great @SummerSkier . I'm glad the microburst/straight line winds didn't cause you any issues other than taking a break mid run.

Catching up, again.
@quilteryoyo great news!
@yirara ugh, you sure deserve a break. I hope they can get some answers for you
Great running, everyone!
We're finally seeing some weather here atm... the place we raced at last weekend is now covered in snow, and we have a tonne of rain here, so its chaos.
Tomorrow is the 2nd of the local road race series, not sure if they'll cancel it. I also saw the official results for the last one and they moved us down a place in my age group, looks like they had put the 1st place lady in the wrong group. So officially I came third, but I have a medal for 2nd place, with tomorrow's date on it. They're so disorganised it's funny10 -

Went out for a driveway wun this morning, hoping to beat the rain. I didn't, but it never rained hard enough that I felt I needed to stop, so continued on. (Well, it did at the 2 mile point, but slacked quickly.) It was fairly pleasant.
I'm having a hard time getting motivated to "run" at the moment. I figure a nice longish wun is better than nothing.

@quilteryoyo Sorry to hear you're having a tough time finding motivation right now. I have a feeling you'll be back before long.eleanorhawkins wrote: »So officially I came third, but I have a medal for 2nd place, with tomorrow's date on it.
That's hilarious! Who knows, maybe some foreshadowing for tomorrow's race?4 -
March total: 22.1 miles
YTD: 223.3/1200 miles
3/2: 4.1 miles
3/4: 4.1 miles
3/5: 6.4 miles
3/7: 3 miles
3/9: 4.5 miles
I had to work today but it was too nice of a morning to skip running altogether. A cold front came through last night and I know to appreciate all the nice days I can get before summer is here!7 -
@quilteryoyo I am right there with you! For several weeks it has felt like a chore to run and I don't know where the motivation went. Hoping for a glorious return for both of us soon!
I did have a pretty good 12 mile run this afternoon though. It was a nice mid-50s, but brisk 14mph N wind was tough. Wanted to make it 13, but I didn't take any fuel with me as I hadn't planned on a HM. So 12 was all I could do.
11 -
Thanks @martaindale . I'm glad you had nice weather for a great run today.
It's nice to know I'm not alone @Scott6255 , but am sorry that your motivation is low too. You seem to be doing better with low motivation than I am......12 miles is awesome! That wind would be tough. You inspire me.5 -
I headed down to the Bay of Plenty yesterday with my sister to celebrate my birthday with her and my sister-in-law. Delicious dinner out and a few drinks afterwards with my brother and niece and nephew. We stayed the night in their bach (holiday home) which is a couple of kilometres up the road and then this morning I met up with my niece for a 10k.
Beautiful morning for it - cool and clear. They live in an avocado orchard and the neighbours are either growing avos or kiwifruit or both (it’s called the Bay of Plenty for a very good reason), so the rural road is lined with big shelterbelt trees. From the top of the road, where it joins the highway, to the beach at the bottom is 5km exactly, so I did that. Unfortunately my niece, who is a ‘retired’ elite level triathlete (she’s 23 😂) is nursing a sore shin so I lost her at her driveway about 2.5km in. But I was happy to carry on by myself.
I got a bit of a fright when two big pig hunting dogs started barking at me and came towards me but I had passed their driveway by the time they reached the end of it so I carried on (they looked too well fed and old to put in much effort following me). On the way back though, they spotted me and came barreling out to meet me. Fortunately, it turned out they were perfectly friendly so I said hi and carried on.
After a decadent breakfast of waffles, bacon, blueberries and maple syrup, we hopped in the car (along with about 15 avocados each, as well as passionfruit and pumpkins) and trundled back to Auckland. A lovely break, and great place to holiday.
The view at breakfast from my brother and SIL’s front lawn:9 -
Happy Birthday @ContraryMaryMary . All of that sounds awesome and a great way to celebrate! Beautiful view. I'm glad the dogs were friendly.2

Aww, thanks hun I hope something will come out of it. Not looking forward to it because they don't numb the muscle I think, but still looking forward to it. Plus I'll spend the whole day on the day of the procedure on a hotel bed with a bag of crisps and some shows on my computer as I won't be able to move 😅4 -
Morning all.
Got in 10 miles (at 09"45 pace).
@ContraryMaryMary happy birthday!!! 😊
Side note-
If anyone wants an Oscars-y movie to watch. I thoroughly recommend 'The Holdovers'!
A movie that's not a boring biopic or critics-bait flick... regular ppl can enjoy too types!
If you liked Sideways - you'll like this. Same director, same lead actor.6 -
Happy birthday @ContraryMaryMary 🍾🎉 🎂
Sounds like you had a perfect day!4 -
Happy Birthday @ContraryMaryMary!! 🎂🎉🎁
Great run @tarun_yadavA!
Great job getting 12 in yesterday @Scott6255!
Got 5.35 miles in this morning with the training group. On pace to get to 60 this month.

I'm way behind with the posts as well as the miles. It felt good to be outside this morning and I enjoyed the run.
Tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment for a one-year checkup for my pacemaker and new aortic valve.
3/1 - 1.11 Miles. Lakefront park. 42F, Sunny, Chilly breeze.
3/3 - 3.25 Miles. Lakefront park. 44F, Cloudy.
3/4 - 2.21 Miles. Neighborhood. 59F, Sunny, Spring-like.
3/6 - 1.2 Miles. Lakefront park. 51F, Misty rain.
3/10 - 1.36 Miles. Neighborhood. 26F, Cloudy.8 -
Finally getting into the wonderful weather for running. Not looking forward to the dark in the morning again tho tomorrow. Better charge up my flashing lights. 48 plus out of 100 goal for the month. The lower goal is allowing me to cater to my sprint and repeats whims.
