@pridesabtch So sorry you and Tim are going through this. (((Hugs)))

@more_freggies76 Hope you are on your way to complete recovery!

Recap 4/1 M ~ I'll start logging food again tomorrow.
    1) Leftovers / 64+ oz. water :p And a few less Easter treats left in the house.
    2) Walk dog Nope, very windy & then snow started. Skipped walk but busy in house and >8,000 steps, so I call that a win.
    3) Wash Sunday plates, silver, glasses & punch cups (leave rest for later) / order Kitty dry food at VetStore / usual M garbage chores (hubby does majority) / read / anything else? put plates & silverware away in hutch, put card table & chairs in basement storage (hubby took downstairs for me), digital declutter, talked with work crew burying fiberoptic cable in our backyard (hubby unlocked/relocked gate for them) TA-DA!

    JFT 4/2 T
    1) Figure out supper / LOG all food / limit treats / 64+ oz. water
    2) PT exercises / at least 7,500 steps
    3) Vote in state primary election (research referendum questions first) / financial tasks / wash remaining Easter dinner dishes (punch bowl, pots/pans, coffee mugs) / read / digital declutter / other?

Yesterday, I enjoyed what felt like a lazy day, the first time in several weeks. This morning, I finally felt like getting out to walk dog, but winter weather has already started... rain mixed with snow, to eventually turn to all snow early this afternoon and overnight. Choir rehearsal has already been canceled for this evening. The predicted storm may dump quite a bit of wet, heavy snow by the time it ends tomorrow, up to 12" possible. Glad I don't have to be anywhere in particular. As long as I can get to my massage appt. Thursday morning LOL.

@pridesabtch - doesn’t the port stay in so that you aren’t poking him with a needle each time? Is there extramural nurses available near you, through Red Cross or something similar? I hope you both get into a routine quickly to ease your stress.

@cschmitz110515 - I hope you’re not too snowed in. My BF is coming from NB Thursday evening, I see they are calling for a large snowstorm I hope it doesn’t mess with her flight and travel to the airport.

The port is in place, I just have to push the solutions in over a 5 minute time period for one and over a 10 minute time period for the other. With saline flushes between and heparin at the end. It wasn’t as bad as I feared. None of the local home health care places will work with out insurance.

Got distracted and forgot to post this earlier. Oh, well, better late than never.

Rainy morning. No classes today, so I turned off the alarm and slept in. My early college high school students are on break this week, so I'm getting a bit of a break too. I got through all the dishes yesterday, but I still have a bit of post-houseguest cleanup to do. I also have a few dozen research papers to get through this week, but we've got rain forecast through Thursday, so my goal is to get them done so I can enjoy the nice weather next weekend.

    5 lb challenge:
    SW 3/19: 194.4
    GW 4/30: 189.4
    3/26: 192.6

    JFT Tuesday
    - sleep in😀
    - Make breakfast 😀
    - 12:30 training for infusions 😀
    - Can’t even think of things I need to do after that.

Infusions weren’t as bad as I thought. Takes about 30 minutes to complete the task and Tim tolerated it well. The lady who did the virtual training was very thorough and patient.

Now I just gotta get back to a normal eating and sleeping schedule. It’s 3:30 and I’m using MFP. Not ideal, and though I’m dropping weight, it’s not been in a healthy manor.

I have a doc appointment this morning, then I’m going to work. I’ll do Tim’s infusions when I get home. He’s promised not to do anything stupid, but sometimes he forgets his 10# lifting limit with his good arm because of the picc line. He figures it out quickly, but I don’t want him to strain. There is plenty of food prepared for breakfast lunch and dinner tomorrow.

    JFT Wednesday
    - Go back to sleep
    - Up at 7:00
    - Weigh
    - Shower
    - Doctor
    - Work
    - Log food
    - Stay green
    - Home
    - Infusions
    - Heat up dinner
    - Bed by 10:00

Ok so starting life style journey at same time as going to New Orleans probably was doomed for failure at the get go😂

Had our first group ride of year. I’ve always been the fastest in the group but hauling around extra me, not training as intensely coming back from the shoulder surgey, and I guess soon to be 50 all wrapped up together made for a humbling evening. Didn’t get dropped but I’m not me That’s for sure…
Two more days till back to work
    I’ve got PT in morning
    Then doctors appointment
Later in morning/afternoon gonna do some work on a friends bike
Don’t feel much like training today will see how the day goes. I really need to cut back on the beer. I just love the taste of a nice Thick hazy NE IPA…
Gonna try switching back to kombucha again during the week. That worked before. Try to limit the brewskis to only when I’m hanging w/ buddies

    Plan
    Stay under caloric limit
    No beer

    Starting easy 😃

@mytime6630 - There are a lot of Spring colds going around it seems.

@beachwalker99 - I have been tired this week and have napped in the afternoon. I never do this.

@pridesabtch - I'm glad the infusion wasn't as difficult as you were expecting. How long do you have to do this?

@teigansdad - Those darn vacations always seem to get us off track. I'm expecting my BF since grade 2 arrives tomorrow, I'm sure we'll overeat a bit too.

Recap 4/2 T ~ spring snowstorm into next day
    1) Figure out supper ~ pierogis from freezer / LOG all food / limit treats / 64+ oz. water :s Logged good, bad & ugly, including snacks I really didn't need. Ack!
    2) PT exercises / at least 7,500 steps
    3) Vote in state primary election (research referendum questions first) / financial tasks ~ lots done / wash remaining Easter dinner dishes (punch bowl, pots/pans, coffee mugs) ~ YAY all done / read / digital declutter / other? called Mom <3 / before weather really hit, refilled bird feeders  TA-DA!

    JFT 4/3 W
    1) Supper? / log all food / cut out the snacking / 64+ oz. water
    2) Help hubby clear snow (wet, heavy... yuck) if necessary / PT exercises / at least 7,500 steps
    3) Put away clean dishes / retry sss.gov website & contact Help Desk if necessary / read / digital declutter / other?

Crappy spring snowstorm still happening, wind still howling, although snow is diminishing. Hard to tell how much came down, since it's already melting. But end of driveway is filled from snowplow running early hours this morning. We need the moisture though, have been near drought conditions with so little snow all winter. Wind gusts last night were terrible, woke me & kept me awake. This morning I saw a neighbor's full-grown tree had split and come down. We have lots of small branches down in our backyard, from our trees & neighbors. At least we still have power, thousands within our state region have lost power since last night.

I love the idea of a *Just For Today* daily commitment and I think a 'one day at a time' approach is really going to help me get back on track.

    Today's Plan:

Get my food diary and goals set up on the MFP website and app.
I'm at home most days so I find it easier to do these kinds of things on my desktop computer versus using my phone.

    Drink WATER...lots of water today.
I'm definitely retaining some water weight, so I'll be very happy and feeling a little better if I can get a handle on this.

    Log EVERYTHING!!

Always room for one more. It's a very supportive group. Welcome! I'm Nikki, I'm 50 so not that far off from you, but no grand kiddos, just a grand puppy.

It's probably been close to a year or so ago since I last used MFP and I desperately need to get back on track. I tried to go it alone for a period of time without logging my foods or using any weight loss apps in general but then I found myself going back to my old eating habits, and now here I am back to square one again.

I'm a 52 year old :D Grandmasaurus Rex :p (nicknames that our grandchildren created) and have been married to my husband, aka Grandpasaurus Rex (age 58) for 34 years.
We absolutely love being grandparents and while this may be relatively young in dinosaur years, these days I'm feeling VERY OLD...and my body (especially my feet these days) is hurting bad as a result of my weight.

I re-started MFP on April 1st, 2024 (this past Monday) with a starting weight of 285 lbs. :s

My MIL said she was too young to be called "Nan" so my girls call her Poppy and grandad is "DarDar"

She's also 58 but would have been 48 when my eldest was born! Atleast I think.. I don't remember going to her 50th?

That's got me thinking now.. I'm sure she's 58 now though lol

Kids have had a great Easter. Ash's mum did giant baskets for the kids again.

I really need to stop "helping" them get through it LOL

Can't wait til it's out the house bit I also need to limit it for them too rather than letting them stuff their faces!

Have been exercising still but really need to stop eating bloody chocolate!
    My meals are pretty good!

    Avocado and egg for breakfast
    Chicken salad for lunch
And chicken, brown rice and greens for dinner.

But then having chocolate after is no good

    💗 Terri 💗

Working on getting back to the middle of my weight range. I’m using weekly mini goal as weight fluctuates from day to day.

3 lbs challenge: (weigh less on 24th March than I did on 17th)
    17/3: 137.8
    24/3: 137,6 (0.2 down 👌🏻)
25/3: 137.5 (Weigh less on 31st March than I did on the 24th)
31/3: 136.7 it’s been up and down for the last few days. But reasonably happy so far. Back to my pre-Christmas weight, but will go for the last 1lb.
1/4: 136.5 (Weigh less on 8th than on 1st April)
    4/4: 136.5

💡Being more mindful on portions, and snacks, Eating just a small portion of my exercise calories.
💡Sticking to my Solid Habits, and being mindful of over snacking.

Yesterday was pretty good food wise, a friend brought us dinner and it was very calorie rich. Homemade mac & cheese with pulled pork sliders. Yummmm. I had small portions, but thoroughly enjoyed it. It was really nice to not cook, and even better that I didn't have to determine what we were having for dinner. My weight has held steady over the past few days, but I was dropping fast before so I'm guessing I'm leveling out.

Today I have a ton of meetings. Nothing planned for the evening other than cooking and laundry.

    JFT Thursday

    - Weigh

Still limited movement and horrible positioning requirement for this retinal bubble treatment, but time is going by and I’m doing everything I can to help doc repair my retina. No exercise is killing me; I feel like a blob.

Hour commitment - I won’t eat again until after 12 pm. No more than one croissant today. (DH bought a bunch - what was he thinking?☺️)

How long will it take to heal? Not exercising is a huge mental hurdle when you are accustomed to it. Be patient, and remember you aren't going to lose your fitness by taking a few weeks off.

I'm sure the croissants are hard to resist. Hopefully next time he'll pick up fewer.

    Thank you for the welcome...

Yesterday was a bust, much like Tuesday and Monday was too :s
Trying to get back on track is proving to be much more difficult this time around.

I was supposed to be starting back on my plan this past Monday...and here it is Thursday and I have yet to get going.

That is going to change TODAY!
I'm going to enjoy my usual morning coffee with creamer and then at 9:00am (pst) I'll be starting 24hr fast through 9:00am tomorrow morning. Nothing to eat or drink, except water.
A little jump start if you will...

That's my one and only goal for today.

Well, I have time for one more cup of coffee before I get this show on the road!

Good luck, but be sure your 24 hour fast doesn't trigger a 24 hour binge. Often over restricting can bite you in the butt. Slow, steady and maintainable are key factors.

Sorry for those of you dealing with storms, I expect we’re not out of the woods yet for them.

@1derland99 - welcome. I love your Grand names and literally laughed out loud at the young in dinosaur years.
I am 55 and known as Grammie, DH (59) is Grampie. We will have been married 37 years in June.
I was part of this group for almost 2 years and did very well with it. I had an injury and then a terrible job for a few years and just got back to being more accountable to myself. I had gained back every bit of my weight plus a bit, but have lost about 9lbs now since January. 4 of those have been since March when I started posting daily again. This group helps!

    @mochasmommie - Welcome!

@Bex953172 - I have a friend that goes my Glamma. I turned 43 the day that Jonah (my grandson) was born. I thought that was really cool, but now that he’ll be 13 in September it just makes me realize how fast I’m getting old. 😂
