19.50/65 mile goal
I only managed to walk one mile, slower pace than normal, because I woke up at 3 am with a crick in my neck and it has been really bad all day. I hope I just slept wrong and I didn't injure myself at the gym yesterday. I slowed the walk because just the little jarring from walking fast made it hurt - or it was the swinging of my arms. Anyway, it is a little bit better finally. I hope I'll be able to get to sleep tonight.
I'm also feeling old because I unexpectedly got my Medicare card in the mail today.8 -

I’m not far behind you @quilteryoyo! Just a few months - and have already started getting calls from people who want “help” me navigate signing up.

I hear you @quilteryoyo ... Those aches are coming fast and furious these days. I hope you feel better in the morning.
Rain all day today after a glorious break in the clouds yesterday right before the eclipse. It was really amazing. Anyway, just did 6 TM miles after work.

Great job on your half @TheMrWobbly!
@emptydog nice job on getting the 5K done and placing in your age group!
Great runs EVERYONE over the last several days. Hectic schedule for me so far for most of April so have only had a few short chances to skim posts and “like”/“hug”.
Hope jet lag doesn’t last too long for you @tarun_yadavA. Hope your son enjoyed the trip!5 -
April Goal: 130 Miles
4/1: 3.34 miles
4/2: 6.26 miles
4/3: 6.02 miles
4/4: 6.02 miles
4/7: 13.13 miles
4/8: 3.30 miles
4/9: 6.05 miles
44.12/130 miles completed for April
I ran 6 miles this morning. I thought it might be stormy but it wasn't. We had a hail storm last night and the windshield on my car is cracked. So I didn't sleep well last night. But since it wasn't stormy when I got up, I decided to run and I was glad I did. I am planning to take a rest day tomorrow.
Congratulations on your Half @the misterwobbly and congratulations on your AG win @emptydog.

Nice recovery run @kgirlhart .
Great jet lagged run @tarun_yadavA . That sounds brutal. I hope you recover from the trip quickly. Glad you had a great trip and especially glad that we got to meet!
@quilteryoyo me also! ☺️
Slept properly... So should be over it now5 -
Morning all.
4M (at 09'47).
Getting back into routine now. Though I do have to visit my mother's for a couple of days6 -
Nice wog @daria0919 !
Thanks for the commiseration on getting older @daria0919 and @Scott6255 !
Glad the clouds broke for the eclipse for you @Scott6255 . Nice running too.
Oh no @kgirlhart . So sorry about your windshield. Great running though.
Glad the jetlag doesn't seem to be too bad @tarun_yadavA ! Maybe your mother forgot to buy ice cream.
Neck update: Looking down and to the right is still painful, but I have a greater range of motion than I had yesterday.8 -

@quilteryoyo loved every second of this morning! Best Bloody Mary-less Brunch ever 😊❤️😊❤️
I don't know what happened (well, I do, life got in the way) but suddenly we're well into April and I haven't been in here since mid March:-o
Still reading but have to say this, above, is awesome, how cool that you met!5 -
April total: 26.5 miles
YTD: 299.3/1200 miles
4/2: 5.7 miles
4/3: 3 miles
4/6: 8 miles
4/8: 3.3 miles
4/10: 6.5 miles
A band of storms with hail and winds came through here last night but was mostly done by the time we woke up. Luckily our cars are in the garage so no cracked windshields but my kid heard it hitting their window in the middle of the night. Everything was wet and lots of debris on all the sidewalks this morning but it felt a little cooler because of the damp aftermath of the storm despite the very high humidity.
I am meeting my friend for the springtime surprise race weekend at Disney in less than 2 weeks and it’s looking like it will be pretty warm. It’s looking warmer here too so I guess that will be heat acclimation training.9 -
03/04 3.55 miles
09/04 3.55 miles
7.10/50 miles
Got out for a run in yesterday evening but the weather is terrible and I don't expect to get many runs in for the rest of this week either because it's rain, rain and more rain forecast. My husband who loves to give me daily forecasts says it is to pick up from the end of next week so I have high hopes for the 2nd half of the month - here's hoping!
Well done on your half @TheMrWobbly! The photos are class too!

Was raining all day again today, until just before quitting time. But by then it turned cold and windy (30mph winds). So another 6 TM miles.

Hi everyone!
This taper week before the marathon has been super busy for me. Even though my runs are short, I’ve had to really squeeze them in. Today was 3.2km and yesterday 6.5 km (3km at race pace) and stiess 4.6km.
So far 64.5km/200km.7 -
Thanks @eleanorhawkins . It was so much fun. You have been doing some amazing runs that I see elsewhere on here. I hope you can get back to a more "normal" routine.
@martaindale Glad you didn't get any hail damage. Great running.
@mari333a I hope your husband is correct and the weather is better the last of the month. Running in the rain is hard for a lot of us, then there are some that enjoy it.
@Scott6255 Get TM running. The weather is wrecking havoc on lots of us this week.
You are doing great @yirara . You can easily make up that deficit...well, maybe not easily, but you can!
Hahaha @tarun_yadavA . But, you are her "kid" so I think that counts.
You are doing great @Laurz9191 . Aren't you glad it is a taper week?!4 -
@quilteryoyo Thank you. It's going to get crazier before it gets better... I have the last of the local road race series on Sunday, fly to the UK for my grandmother's funeral next week, possibly start a new job when I get back, we're hiking another Camino de Santiago the first week in May for our anniversary, my 60km ultra is on May 18th, then I have another race mid-June... and somehow in between all the above I need to get these crazy long training run/hike/climb/scrambles in LOL.
@Laurz9191 sounds like a very well-timed taper. Enjoy your race7 -
Hope you can get some rest during your taper @Laurz9191!
7 miles this morning. Was a little chilly 48F, so wore long pants and long sleeve tek shirt. Felt comfortable for the 1st mile, but then regretted the long pants and long sleeves by mile 2. You'd think I've learned how to dress after 14 years of running.

09/04 3.55 miles
11/04 3.56 miles

Managed to get my run in between the rain so happy with that.
@Laurz9191 - Go luck with your race, you have all the work done so looking forward to your race report.
@elenorhawkins - Sorry for the loss of your grandmother.7 -
01.04 1.0km 7min 7:28/km - something

11.04 3.0km 24min 7:54/km - fast
22.28km/80.5km - 7.4km behind target
Still not better. No idea why. Tomorrow just walking, and then I'll see during the weekend what's possible.7 -
I feel so far behind but I am reading...
The clouds parted enough for me to see the eclipse on Monday to include the diamond and full for just a few seconds. It got really dark and my Purple Martins all flew into their gourds. LOL. It is just one of those once in a lifetime events which blows your mind. Hard to get back to work after.
Set my goal for 100 again but really I want to try to include some speed work still before it heats up too much.
9 -
Wow @eleanorhawkins . No wonder you haven't been commenting here much. That's a lot. You have my condolences on the loss of your grandmother. I hope the new job works out.
@Scott6255 . It's so hard to figure out clothing, esp if you are like me and hate to be cold. I always dress too warmly, but I would much rather sweat than freeze.
Nice running between the rain @mari333a .
@yirara Nice running. I hope it starts to feel better soon.
Great running @SummerSkier !
I hope you are doing okay and recovering @7lenny7 ! On pins and needles waiting for your race report.5 -

I worked at daycare today, in the 4 - 5 year old class. I love those kids, but days like this test my patience. When I got home, I was hungry and tired, so I decided to walk one mile and run one on the treadmill before having dinner. The run was at an avg pace of 13:02 min/mile. Not too bad.
My neck is almost back to normal. Still don't have full range of motion, but it is getting there.7 -
Hello everyone!
Got in 5 (at 09"25).
@quilteryoyo - glad to hear neck is back to normal! (And my mother is literally the worst for healthy eating!)
@Laurz9191 best of luck!!! 🤞🏽🙏🏽
fingers crossed for you... Thumbs pressed too, even!

@eleanorhawkins sorry to hear about your grandmother0 -
@eleanorhawkins My condolences. I am also sorry to hear about your grandmother.
@tarun_yadavA Yes, people press their thumbs here for luck. It’s a favorite phrase of mine to directly translate into English because it just sounds so odd.
I’m not supposed to run today. It feels weird after running so little this week. I’m pretty excited about the marathon. The weather is supposed to be about 15C or 59 Fahrenheit Sunday, so that is warmer weather than I’m used to, but pretty much an ideal running temperature. Just still figuring out what I want to wear. Compression socks or short socks? Tank top/T-shirt/long sleeve base layer? I know in the end it won’t make a difference, but I want to make the “right” choice .7 -
@eleanorhawkins very sorry to hear of your grandmother’s passing. Your training and runs continue to amaze me!
@Laurz9191 Daumen drücken!
@SummerSkier great mileage so far this month! Would love to see photos of your Purple Martins in/near their gourd homes.
@quilteryoyo glad to hear you’re on the mend.
Nice pace for your run this morning @tarun_yadavA!
@mari333a glad for you that the rain paused enough for you to get a run in!
@Scott6255 nice 7-miler yesterday! I know what you mean regarding what to wear, and how it ends up being a bit too much at times. April weather here varies so much. Each week of training’s been so different. Hard to know what it’ll be like for my 10K race a week from tomorrow. (Yikes! It’s almost here!)
Did some cross training at home yesterday. Traded that with today’s schedule so that I can do a 5K Saturday (tomorrow) morning that I signed up for. It’s a fund raiser for a group of students at our local high school.
Had some strong rains and thunderstorms yesterday afternoon and last night. Wind is still whipping around with strong gusts.6
