4/7 ⚖️131.9 Today: all the above plus a little work, 📿rope & 📝 Habit Mechanic. Still out of sorts but getting back in the groove.

Still not “feeling” the “healthy & fit” …. I keep reminding myself that I am NOT my thoughts or my feelings. Somehow I was successful in completing all of my round commitments yesterday even though I felt an internal braking system gnawing at me to stop & piddle. NSV: But I somehow pushed through it. Took every ounce of energy. Thank God. ✅Hit macros. Yes, I’m counting again.
That unavoidable, awful, worrisome, emotional family issue is currently at full throttle & front & center. …. All of my joy gets sucked out. Takes tons of energy to even TRY to stay positive. I conquered the internal battle yesterday by simply “doing” the commitments. ✅. Didn’t even feel good about it… Just blah.
But…. I do get to see my DGS today… Have not seen him since 4/27. I cannot wait! He sure is a sight for sore eyes. A full day of my “to do” list shall be completed before I pick him up. Today: Will fake it till I make it …
Let’s go stretch…. Onward.
4/9 DNW 🙆♀️🤸🏼🏋️♀️🚶♀️📿💦 📝✅
Rained all day. No tennis but ✅ everything else and macros. Only 10 min of 🏋️♀️but it was a good 10 min. I’m thinking I’m not eating enough.… Will eat extra protein today.
I definitely managed my mood better yesterday than the day before. Was able to change worrisome thoughts successfully throughout the day. Staying mindful & present is KEY. Oh, enjoyed BIGtime my grandson yesterday-God’s gift to me. ❤️
NSV: Catching unhelpful thoughts quickly is slowly becoming a helpful habit.
4/10 130.9
Fake it till u make it actually worked yesterday. Managed to get it all done except 📿. Able to stay “in the present” most of the day. Spent too much time w/🎾.
My day was made fabulous with two hours spent with my DGS. We played basketball and went for a walk to the nearby stadium to watch high school track&field. He was mesmerized! We practiced the long-jump!
Today: All schools are canceled because of severe weather. I’ll be home working on taxes, work and completing my “Healthy & Fit” ✅ list.
NOTE: My sleep patterns are in complete disarray. I’ve been up since 4:30 & positive my cortisol levels are high from stress. Practicing mindful breathing helps a lot but sleep sucks. Onward!
NSV: slowly accomplishing my goals because let’s face it, how many MawMaws out there can practice the long jump with their DGS?! 😎💪🏻❤️

About me, WOE & Health Journey
****************************
F65, 5’6” married, MawMaw Proud. Clean Ketovore 🥩. Track macros, kcals, all exercise and NSVs. HW 172lbs in 2010.
WOE since 7/2023: Whole Foods. No processed foods. Animal-based proteins. EGGS, Beef, pork, chicken, seafood, venison and grass-fed whey protein. I count macros & kcals - always will. (Since portion control is my issue). Keto is high-fat but I’m now leaning lower healthy fats with leaner proteins. I had paralyzing IBS for 20 years. My mother was diagnosed with celiac’s disease in her 50’s. Following her lead, I eliminated wheat, oat, barley, and rye several years ago…. Dairy? Hard cheese, HWC and butter - an occasional Greek yogurt. Vegetables destroy my digestive system… I love vegetables, but when I splurge, I pay for it for a few days… I do enjoy berries, lemons, limes. Avocados are my weakness. Enjoy a piece of dark chocolate on occasion. Generally, I eat btw noon and 6 pm. (IF18/6). Alcohol? Used to be a social drinker and would enjoy a good martini/scotch or Paloma at home while cooking dinner. NO MORE. Root of many evils. Primarily, the destruction of will power and the enemy of optimal choices. I’d rather journey toward my best-self. I haven’t given up alcohol completely, but I enjoy it sparingly on special occasions. This is me. I finally feel terrific.
History:
I have ALWAYS been ON a “diet” since at least high school. I have never been comfortable with my body - NEVER EVER- no matter my weight.
Pre- college: 125-130lbs
College- up to 160lbs one year… graduated @130lbs.
Many different diets each decade!
1990 (Age 32) - Avg.135/140 lbs (my son was born 1988)
2000 (Age 42) -Avg 145 -160

Aug 14, 2014 @ 157lbs (down 15 from heaviest of 172lbs in 2010), I decided to take serious control of my health. I lost 30lbs by 11/15/2014. Weight @ 128-132lbs through the end of 2020. Six years!
Another 🎢 Roller Coaster Begins….
2020 through 2021, I fluctuated 132-140 lbs. Always self-conscious.
8/1/ 2022 crept up to 142lbs.
Dropped to 128lbs again by 10/30 - held 130lbs till 2/1/23.
2023 Back ⬆️ 145lbs by July 15! 15lbs BOOM! Enjoyed eating & margaritas way too much. My nutrition has always been somewhat healthy BUT portion control is/was THE issue. The yo-yo is exhausting & unhealthy. Takes up way too much brain space.
I learned MY choices created an emotional 🎢 roller coaster with yo-yo weight and fitness. My forever goal is to be healthy & fit & maintain approx. 130lbs & IN SHAPE - to enjoy my “Senior” years to my fullest.
While active with 🚶♀️& 🎾 it’s clear a ST 🏋️♀️🤸🏼routine was absent. Strength & balance are 💯most important now. Time to incorporate ST 🏋️♀️ 🙆♀️🤸🏼as my TRUE focus. I want healthy/fit choices to be my first nature.

Logging Trend Weight
Goals:
- Plan food daily and work the plan.
- Fast 12 hours dinner to breakfast.
- Do 30 minutes of dedicated exercise 5 days a week.
4/6 - 215 - Sleep issues and night eating associated with insomnia are my biggest focus. Its pushed me to gain so much weight in the last year. Very hard habit to break.
4/7 - 213.9 - Clearly a drop in water weight but I'll take it. Worked the plan well yesterday through dinner. However, I did eat a protein bar in the wee hours, so I had to restart my 12 hour fasting window over.
4/8- 213.3 -Lifted some weights, lots of steps, eating on point with a lot of veggies and protein. Still struggling with eliminating the night snacking.
4/9 - 213.2- Eclipse party. No alcohol. Stayed within calorie range but not the healthiest foods. Lot of steps and outside much of the day. Slept better.
4/10 - 212.9 - Perfect day yesterday and slept through night. Lots of veggies and protein and no food off plan.

It's been a while since I've been here, but decided to focus on weight loss again and this has always been a helpful tool for me. Lost 30 pounds last spring. then gained a few of those back. Have kept up my daily walks, but need to concentrate on nutrition. Trying to get in the 60's by my son's wedding at the end of April..

4/7 174.4 We are meeting friends for brunch at a mexican resaurant today. No chips or margaritas for me!
4/8 174.8 Only had 4 chips and drank water instead of a margarita...but drank wine later with my husband on the beach and watched a boat parade. Probably worth it.....

DH made prepackaged (read salty) dinners the past two nights and I feel waterlogged. Other than that, I’ve been eating responsibly. 😊

We had a great view of the eclipse from our backyard—all but total here. It’s the third one I’ve seen. Beautiful. We’re having gorgeous weather, which of course makes me want to jump the gun on planting things, but we’re a month away from final frost day so I’m trying to restrain myself. Lots of other garden work to do, though—yay! outdoor exercise! Have a lovely day, everyone!
4/10 - 194.6
I spent about 2 hours yesterday digging up brick edging from a bed we’re putting back in grass and relocating them to another part of the garden. I thought I’d be sore this morning, but nope, all good. It’s supposed to rain from tonight through Fri night, so I’m going to do a little more “garden infrastructure “ work this morning, them agility class with Charlie this afternoon. It’s a moving sort of day! Enjoy your hump day, all!

It tends to puff back up as the day goes on so I quickly weighed before the day begins. Today I am hoping to stay off of it a little more. It got pretty bad last night. I still have to call my PCP for a follow-up appointment on the foot and the wonky bloodwork. It’s a little cloudy in northern Michigan today. I think we may be expecting a little rain. In the meantime, Pebbles the cat is enjoying her first days back in her Catio outside and she is a happy camper. She got out yesterday through the big hole in the bedroom wall which was scary. You won’t be jumping through any openings in the construction area today Pebbles!

I am back to starting weight, now to start making some progress although its hard to do with no exercise and little movement overall. I never thought I would miss my exercise routines! 4/6 - DNW Out of town visiting my mom. Did eat some sugar here yesterday, so hard to resist. Was slightly over calorie goal.
4/7 - DNW Drove back home this afternoon and took a little nap. So far today I’ve been good. A lot of gardening yesterday helping my mom with spring cleanup. At our rate it will be mid summer before we get it all finished, I visit her every other weekend.
4/8 - 208.4 Well I’m a bit disappointed that it went up this high and I was watching what I ate. After posting this I will preplan my food for the day.
4/9 207.2 Yesterday was great with keeping calories managed and then we went for a walk around the lake, .6 of a mile but still a nice little walk. Trying to strengthen the knee but not overdo it, surgery on July 15.
4/10 205.8 Much the same as yesterday. Ate under calorie goal and went for a walk. Almost gave in and ate some pretzels but I drank some water instead. Today was grocery shopping and I bought mostly produce, trying to stay away from carbs.

4/10 220.0 ~The round is half over and I haven't even bellied up to the table!! Yikes...Same goals. Protein good, water is even close to good with me hitting 64 three times a week and 80 at least once! Closing Rings - no problem, even with increasing the goals....But the struggle is very real with calories this round for some reason. I think I may have figured out a portion of my problem.
My target for calories is 1650. I pre-plan and pre-log to make sure I get my protein in and then work toward my calorie goal. So before the day even starts - I'm very close to goal. Well, what that means is there's NO wiggle room. As soon as I wiggle, I'm over calories.
I've also been looking at TDEE and BMR and calories in and calories burned, what my fitbit says and what my apple watch says.... and I think I've totally confused myself.

Hi Charissa, sounds like me the past few months ~ which is why I've stopped! I was driving myself crazy, lol ~ Now, just keeping calories at 200-400 below maintenance most days and my only concerns are getting adequate protein and water. Good luck! Hope you find the balance.

@tiabirdie56 I've only seen one dr. at the Urgent Care and 2 drs at the Hospital emergency room and neither one mentioned it. However, they are referring me back to my own doctor who may mention that. Still no callback today to set up the appointment......5 -

Onward.

@judefit1 - it is just so frustrating when you do EVERYTHING right and then get the opposite intended results. And then there is me this week - eating is completely out of control - going WAY over calories every day by eating sugary junk on the sofa while watching TV - and today I somehow showed a loss on the scale. I just don't get it some days.6

RND 256 (my 10th)
SW (first round) 155.8
SW (this round) 149.5
4/6 - 149.5
4/7 - DNW - I’ve been away for a few rounds - but I’m back now. Hectic crazy work schedule and then a long trip for Spring Break. We spent a week in Italy and I am happy to find that despite eating A LOT and not running very much at all, my weight has maintained right where I left it when I fell off the 10 day challenge train in mid-march. Now it’s time for me to get back on track and start the scale moving again. Because of the crazy stress of my work right before the trip, my running momentum suffered and I ended up being set back quite a bit. I had been aiming for a marathon the last weekend in May, but now I will need to revise my plan. There is no way I can be marathon ready in 6 weeks. It is disappointing, but I am not going to let the setback pull me completely off track. I have built a good base. Slow though it is, I am getting stronger and faster with time and if I dust myself off and get going again, the damage of the few weeks away I have taken will be minimal. New marathon target is set for August 24th. Training starts tomorrow.
4/8 - 149.5. Busy hectic day back to work after a week and a half off. So much work it could easily bury me but I am determined not to let it. Ran 3 miles. had planned to also strength train but I was exhausted and ended up working late instead. 🥴
4/9 - 149.6 Crazy week - trying to stay on track. Lost the battle with my will-power last night and indulged in coconut/chocolate almonds that my husband was eating with abandon while sitting on the sofa next to me. Hopefully I can show more restraint this evening. Attending my daughter’s track meet which always go FOREVER so will get home late and will be extra hungry so need to be diligent not to overeat or give in to sweets/junk because they are easy and fast
4/10 - 148.7 - not sure how this happened but I’ll take it. I’ve been stress eating junk every night this week and eating well over my calorie budget. Need to get myself under control - not sleeping well due to eating too much before bed and then not getting up to run before work because I am tired and not recovered.

🎷 65 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 256 (my 186th). So grateful @Quiltingjaine for another round.
Goals for this round; to lose! To be consistent and lose something. Takes me up to the day before I officially become an OAP! How can that be I can’t possibly be that old – I feel much much younger 😊.
Good luck everyone for a successful round.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

4/6 141.8 – (trend 141.3) – again no structured walking as attended funeral of an elderly aunt (94), she was the last of her generation, so a sobering thought for me is that now I am the oldest of my paternal side of the family!!
4/7 141.8 – (trend 141.4) need a move downwards now! 9.85 miles walked, all but 13 exercise calories eaten back. Getting some walking in today will be a challenge with Storm Kathleen around.
4/8 140.4 – (trend 141.3) – yes! The drop I was waiting for! 8.61 miles walked, less than 20% of exercise calories eaten back.
4/9 140.4 - (trend 141.2) pleased this number has stuck, 9.34 miles walked, 20% exercise calories eaten back.

4/11: I am baffled by my body. But I must say this is a relief after a few weeks of wondering what was going on- same food, same routine, no birthdays. Lesson to self- patience when the scale gets stuck on a plateau- they're real, for whatever reason. I'm now down 20 lbs total and within 2.7 lbs of my goal weight. I'm sure this will fluctuate over the next couple weeks, but the plan works, so I'm sticking with it.
But it sure is confusing...8 -

I will take this scale reading after my German feast last night at the German American Society. I even had a piece of German Chocolate cake. (is that even really German?) Even so, my calorie budget was busted by only a little bit. How many times can I write the word German?
Thanks @quiltingjaine for setting it up the round. This one takes us to Tax Day. Our last entry should be postmarked by midnight.

/logged; Exercised; 45 oz water fiasco/
This is the residual effect of the past two days of too much salt and not enough water. Out shopping with DW yesterday and we decided to stop for some Vietnamese food. I had a “small” bowl of Pho. It was actually huge. Though very reasonable in calories, it was very high in sodium. And delicious.
Did some nervous noshing during basketball games.
My exercise was mowing the grass, hauling yard waste, plus some functional lifting of boat batteries. Those batteries get heavier every year.
4/8: 223
/logged food; exercised; 75 oz water/
Maybe I can eventually get back to my starting weight this round. Yesterday I was very good. If I can do two good days back to back…
4/9: 224.0
/logged; exercised; 66 oz water/
Though I met my food goals with calories, the specifics were not good. Who thinks a “breakfast skillet” at a restaurant is a good idea anyway? Come on Jeff!
Yesterday’s highlight was the total eclipse that traversed the US. What a creation we live in! We are a 4-hour drive away from the path of totality, so we passed on that experience. Traffic promised to be a bear. Even so, the sun was reduced to a tiny “fingernail clipping” at our location. Still pretty light outside, but kind of dingy and gloomy feeling. We had zero cloud cover so we could see it all with our special glasses.
4/10: 222.2
/logged; exercised; 75 oz water/
OK, just a hair under the starting weight for the round. The past two weather days have been glorious!

Rotary lunch today. It’s a minefield because the caterer does a fantastic job. There are always good choices available if I desire to be healthy. Always a good salad and fruit. The unhealthy choices are very tempting usually, such as dessert or some salty savory starch dish.

Onward.

4/11 Thunderstorms & severe weather all day yesterday. My neighborhood ok. Used the day for taxes /work. At computer eight hours. Nothing else got done.

About me, WOE & Health Journey
****************************
F65, 5’6” married, MawMaw Proud. Clean MAD 🥩.
Keto is high-fat but I’m now leaning lower healthy animal fats with leaner proteins.

@musicsax ”MawMaw”. I know the trend is to pick a cutesy name when we become a grandmother… But my mom was the BEST grandmother, and I chose “MawMaw” as that was her “g”name. (used often a generation ago in S Louisiana). I literally think of her every time my grandchildren call me MawMaw.5

@judefit1 Congratulations hitting your 20lb milestone… Huge accomplishment! Your comment has inspired me today to keep it going! Plateaus are REAL … I read somewhere a plateau could last as long as three months… 😬😱. I have realized that “maintenance” or my coined phrase “healthy and fit” is HARDER for me than reaching goal weight. Establishing the habits and mindset to live healthy and strong FOREVER is the true transformation we are all striving for! Keep it up!5

Female 60 years old
It's been a while since I've been here, but decided to focus on weight loss again and this has always been a helpful tool for me. Lost 30 pounds last spring. then gained a few of those back. Have kept up my daily walks, but need to concentrate on nutrition. Trying to get in the 60's by my son's wedding at the end of April..

4/8 174.8 Only had 4 chips and drank water instead of a margarita...but drank wine later with my husband on the beach and watched a boat parade. Probably worth it.....
