    CHALLENGE:
This group is overflowing with strong & reflective peeps. I’m that one at the dinner party that throws out a “deep” philosophical question to ponder…

So…. Please, if you accept, “At what point in your life did weight become “a thing” and WHY? Real reasons only…. Answer here in R256 or R257 or ignore the challenge. This might be against the rules @quiltingjaine….?! But knowing WHEN & WHY is important to the journey.

It's been a while since I've been here, but decided to focus on weight loss again and this has always been a helpful tool for me. Lost 30 pounds last spring. then gained a few of those back. Have kept up my daily walks, but need to concentrate on nutrition. Trying to get in the 60's by my son's wedding at the end of April..

4/6 174.4 Did great all day until we went out last night and I had a piece of pizza. I was happy to see a loss. Lunch at a mexican restaurant tomorrow and eclipse party Monday......
4/7 174.4 We are meeting friends for brunch at a mexican resaurant today. No chips or margaritas for me!
4/8 174.8 Only had 4 chips and drank water instead of a margarita...but drank wine later with my husband on the beach and watched a boat parade. Probably worth it.....
    4/9 175.8
    4/10 175.5
4/11 173.9 Nice drop! Trying to avoid most social situations until the wedding. Still baking cookies so there is still temptation to taste...Having my cataract removed today!
4/12 173.3 Ok..so yesterday's drop wasn't a fluke. Didn't walk yesterday because of cataract surgery, but will get at it today...no running or too much exertion though. Need to keep on track over the weekend.
    4/13 173.5
4/14 173.3 My sister was in town and I didn't gain weight, so that's a plus. Having to tone down my walk and not walk up big hills for a few more days because of the cataract surgery. It's so nice to be able to see clearly, at least out of one eye!

I'm Crystal! I am aiming for 1200 calories/day, less than 90 carbs and low sugar. Recently added more protein to my diet and walking on most days.

    RND 254 SW: 176.4, EW 173.9 (-2.5)
    RND 255 SW: 173.1, EW 174.8 (+.9)

RND 256 Other than the goals I already have set, this round I'm aiming for no cheat days!
4/6 174.2 Yesterday marked my 50th day of this challenge. Yay! Was hoping for better results but some of that is my fault. I've really got to do better if I want this weight off by summer. Met all goals yesterday. It's really starting to get beautiful out so I'm enjoying my walks so much. We live near the riverwalk, so I'm going to start walking more out there too. The scenery and wildlife is beautiful and its crazy how much it changes my mood when I'm out there. Hoping for a better round this time. Good luck everyone!
4/7 173.5 There we go- almost at starting weight for last round. Took almost a week to get the weight back off from last weekend. Lots of walking and outdoor activities yesterday. Was so beautiful out. Loving the spring weather here. Hope y'all have a great day!
4/8 174.2 Too much sodium with dinner. Stuck with my goals though. Need to drink plenty of water today.
4/9 172.6 I started a challenge on the 1st of this month where I need to exercise at least 20 minutes a day and stay within my calorie with my calorie budget. Yesterday was the 8th day in a row of doing all 😃. Plan to keep it going through April. There are pass days if needed, but I really need this push. In May I'll be traveling the 9th-12th to Kentucky (an 8 hr drive 😳) and then towards the end of May we'll have our family beach trip. I'm sure those will set me back some so this month I've got to put in extra effort.
4/10 172.0 Another great day yesterday. Only thing that I wasn't pleased with was all the sodium with dinner (tacos). Took a hot hot bath after dinner. Not sure if that helps 🤣 but possibly? Just happy to see my weight going down though! Nice to know the self discipline is paying off.
4/11 171.7 Another good day yesterday 😃. Loving how much better my clothes are fitting. (And some of them now too big)
4/12 171.7 Almost the weekend. We will be going turkey hunting in the morning. I enjoy being out in nature this time of the year and we will be doing lots of walking. Only thing that I'll need to watch is hubby likes to go out to eat after lol. I have been making better choices at restaurants though so I will plan to eat as healthy as I can.
4/13 172.8 Not sure how accurate this is since I weighed at 4:30 this morning, and barely got any sleep last night. Thats ok though. My sleep overall has been pretty decent lately other than that. Hope everyone has a good weekend! Been busy for me already but a good day so far.
4/14 172.2 Met all goals yesterday again- can't believe we are almost finished with another 10 days!

    SW RND 256 SW - 207 Round Goal - 205

4/6 - DNW Out of town visiting my mom. Did eat some sugar here yesterday, so hard to resist. Was slightly over calorie goal.

4/7 - DNW Drove back home this afternoon and took a little nap. So far today I’ve been good. A lot of gardening yesterday helping my mom with spring cleanup. At our rate it will be mid summer before we get it all finished, I visit her every other weekend.

4/8 - 208.4 Well I’m a bit disappointed that it went up this high and I was watching what I ate. After posting this I will preplan my food for the day.

4/9 207.2 Yesterday was great with keeping calories managed and then we went for a walk around the lake, .6 of a mile but still a nice little walk. Trying to strengthen the knee but not overdo it, surgery on July 15.

4/10 205.8 Much the same as yesterday. Ate under calorie goal and went for a walk. Almost gave in and ate some pretzels but I drank some water instead. Today was grocery shopping and I bought mostly produce, trying to stay away from carbs.

4/11 205.8 Same weight as yesterday. Stayed under calorie goal but didn’t get a walk in. Hopefully that will happen today.

4/12 205.4 Slightly surprised but very happy with this loss. My youngest DD is a third grade teacher. Her school had a fundraiser at a local pizza place. My older DD and I ordered two small pizzas, a salad, garlic bread and a Coke for me and a Sprite for DD and a chocolate chip cookie for DD. I ate 1/3 of the salad and two pieces of pizza and drank the Coke. I discovered that yes I can control myself with pizza. We brought home lots of leftovers which we will finish off over the weekend.

4/13 205.2 Every time the weight goes down I’m surprised but still very pleased. I wasn’t sure about today since I had a small portion of spaghetti last night. I’m trying hard to stay away from carbs.

4/14 204 Well I wasn’t expecting such a big loss. I didn’t feel well yesterday and didn’t eat much, I have a head cold. I’m going to church this morning but not singing in the choir. I plan to watch a lot of TV today and may get some sewing in. Rest, rest, rest!

I think I just channeled my grandmother!!! Rant over.

I noticed the same thing on the recent cruises. My DH doesn’t like to play “dress up” but our jeans and shirts are clean and free of holes. What really got to me was seeing people walk through the buffet in “bathing suits” and “coverups” which left nothing to the imagination.

There are no rules except those imposed by the website.🤦‍♀️😘

I honestly don’t know the answer to that question. The first time I REMEMBER someone mentioning my size was when my grandfather died. My mom and I were looking for a dress for me to wear to his funeral. The sales lady looked at me and directed us to the “Chubettes” area. I was 9 1/2.

4/6 137.0 🤷‍♀️ Today I’ll make something from the leftover rotisserie chicken.
4/7 137.0 I forgot about the pool opening party yesterday so the chicken will wait. Today Great Greek. Due to cruise and company, it’s been almost a month! I need a Greek fix!
4/8 136.5 Today I will make the crack chicken casserole I had intended to make on Saturday.

4/10 135.0 Semi-annual doctor visit. Meeting the NP/PA instead of the doctor. Maybe she will not have decided the entire content of the visit before walking into the room.
4/11 135.0 I like the new NP. Hoping to get off Fosamax and move to something that builds bone. Need to see a specialist.
4/12 135.0 I was short on protein yesterday so had some leftover chicken breast which I salted. Drank gallons of water so I may be retaining. I have been logging this week and am waiting for a drop. Last night DH said he wanted to go to Golden Corral again today. I hated to tell him that I don’t. (RANT: He’s had a rough week because of a complaint by a community resident that he has “ violated his fiduciary duties“ but no specifics given. She demanded an apology or retraction. The board decided what he needed to do while we were on our cruises and told him to what he needed to respond. He wrote his response and read it at the meeting on Wednesday night. One of the other board members said he was surprised that DH was even able to read his statement. I’m not even sure what that means! Another member stated that the previous board had violated the law by voting to spend $167K on a project without involving the homeowners AS REQUIRED BY LAW. (RANT OVER)
4/13 135.0 Okay, I’m ready for a drop no matter how slight. Today is small salad and steak at Great Greek on a Saturday!
4/14 135.5 🤷‍♀️ Absolutely no explanation. Maybe water? I have been drinking a LOT.

Thank you so very much for responding. I deeply appreciate your reflection & honesty. Our journeys are different yet the same in many ways.

The “Every Monday starting a new diet” “body comparisons” “binge eating” …. Butt jokes, family 💩 dysfunction… Secrets, Lies…. Shame… Pretty clear many issues start VERY early. TRUE!

I’m learning that BAD choices stem from deeply engrained perhaps life-long BAD habits (bad choices). (Throwing nice words away now). Truly, self-destructive choices. (Not -self-sabotage). And each of us (I) have the power to identify and change those behaviors that keep us (me) stuck.Hard stuff. Me: fake it till I make it!

    Hope, strength & determination!

    Let’s Go! 🙌🏻
