    @takinitalloff and @deepwoodslady

Thank you for the your thoughts, prayers, and encouragement. I appreciate it very much.

Unfortunately, my husband and I are kind of alone in this with his mom. His brother lives too far away and is having medical issues of his own making it difficult for him to be around for any length of time. My husband has issues with hospitals. So, I’m left to having the shoulders it all falls on. I’m trying to not let it get to me, but it is.

I’m going to do my best to turn it around by the end of this week. At least monitor my eating better.

Cheat meal? Who did you cheat? Why not think of it as a TREAT meal. It only happens every now and then, and that's fine. You're still losing at a pretty fast rate - five pounds in two weeks when you're only in the mid 150s is not really sustainable. It might even explain the desire to go off the rails and have that treat meal. General guidance is to aim for no more than 0.5% to 1.0% of your weight per week, and more towards the lower end if you don't have much to lose. That would be less than a pound a week for a good goal. Just think about it. You get to decide!
    Hey mtaratoot!

I gained 20 pounds in a very short time due to a poor attitude of "oh my ankle is broken and i can't work out i might as well drink and eat like a slob too"
I'm only losing weight so fast because I went from drinks, burger king and not moving to drinking water, eating healthy and working out like I use to. I'm not doing anything extreme or dangerous, i just move and eat like I should. Weight usually comes off fast in the very beginning for anyone when they make a big healthy change. It's usually around 130 that it gets a bit harder for me to get the weight off but that’s okay. I went through this a few years ago and shed 20 pounds in 2 1/2 months everyone was worried when I literally just changed my eating habits and started some cardio (I was always a runner). People see the weight 150 and think "that's not heavy" sure I guess opposed to someone who weighs 250 it’s not, but I’m only 5'3 and look and feel my best at 120/125 so 150 is not a healthy weight at all to me. Some people don’t feel the weight as badly as others, at 160 I could barely get up the stairs. I was 120 until i hit 30 then I gained it and got back down until the ankle break story.

I still choose the word cheat meal because I did cheat myself. I ate to the point of feeling uncomfortable. I could have stopped at half the amount, but I couldn’t take it (long car ride) and didn’t want to waste it. next time I will ask if I can half the portion and that will make it a treat meal.

Had company over. I weighed on time but forgot to post results. I’m okay with my results but it’s been tough to stay motivated with company. Tried planning our meals but snacking had been a little more the past couple days.

My name is Donna. I am 63 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253 in 2016. My MFP start weight was 235 in 2018.

Ultimate Goal Weight: 145-155 (I’ll know it when I get there!)
    Start Weight (from March 31st, 2024 ): 179.6

Goal Weight: 175.6 (4 pound loss)

End of Challenge Final Weight: xxxxx

    Weight lost/gained this month: xxxxx

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

    04/01

    04/07

04/14-181.2-(Trend Weight: 181.4)- While I did pretty well in February, March was not a good month for me and April (so far) is not faring any better. My hunger has been outrageous, my cravings have been horrendous. I think my body is fighting the losses I had in the months prior. I have a serious lack of exercise going on due to the severe foot problem. It’s s..l..o..w..l..y getting better so I am hoping I can incorporate a little more movement this week. Lots of travel this week for some important medical appointments. One appointment is an 8 hour round trip. I will try to get some movement in on the days that I can. Weather got bad again with some snow this past week but is slowly improving now at weeks end in northern Michigan. I saw a Robin yesterday.

04/21- -My meals have been great. My exercise is still almost non-existent as I am probably β€œover-babying” the foot right now. My snacks have been over-the-top. I ABSOLUTELY can very easily over-eat (or binge) on my approved low calorie/low carb foods. So everything I ate yesterday was healthy and to-plan. Just too much of it. Part hunger, part food obsession/binge disorder. I’ve got to get a grip. What causes these binges to creep up? What happened this time? The foot injury and inability to exercise? The cancer scare? The renovation and the mess and turmoil in my daily life it causes? Life has challenges, fears, stresses. I am trying really hard not to cope with food and emotional eating. It’s a battle in itself. I’ll try harder to put out the fires tonight, that’s all I can do.

    04/28-xxxxx-(Trend Weight: xxxxx)-

    04/30-xxxxx-(Trend Weight: xxxxx)-

Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Heaviest weight: 175.4 in early 2013.
Original MFP starting weight (January 2018): 168.2
    January 1, 2024 Weight: 155.4 (10-day average 155.8)
March 30 (Starting Weight for this challenge): 148.4 (10-day average 149.2)
April goal: Get back to lower end of maintenance weight range
Ultimate goal: Stay in maintenance range between (absolutely 140 - 153 and ideally 142-148)

I report scale weight and (ten day average weight), and I post on Saturdays.

    March 30: 148.4 (10-day average 149.2)
    April 6: 147.6 (10-day average 149.1)
    April 13: 148.2 (10-day average 148.4)
    April 20: 147.4 (10-day average 147.2)
    April 27:
    May 4:

Total loss for April: Two pounds. I am at the upper end of my "ideal" maintenance range, and right near the midpoint of my "absolute" maintenance range. That's good! My ideal goal is maybe a little lower weight than is realistic, but I'll still keep it as a goal for now. I am down 8.5 pounds for the year.

    Stick to it!

@NonnieDoiron I don't have a fix for you. I can say make time for yourself or learn how to say "no", but without walking in your shoes, it's not my place. You have to decide those things for yourself. That said, I've had lots of downs. I've sat in hospitals with $10 to my name surrounded by junk in vending machines. I've been left $20 to feed the family for a week while my now ex went to work out of town. I've had family drain me emotionally to where I just wanted to curl up in bed and stay there forever. It is tough to put yourself first. It is even tougher to ask for help. But no one is going to do it for you. Find one small thing you enjoy. Maybe a craft or an activity. Carve out some regular time for yourself to do that. Even if you just start with 15-30 minutes, it is time for you!

@MsElphaba thank you. Making time for me and the things I like to do has always been the last of my priorities. After the husband okayed it, I quit work and was looking forward to putting energy and effort into me, my health, my faith, my being. Then, my MIL who lives with us ends up in the CV ICU (still in the hospital). Had a couple other really stressful and time consuming things happen. Then last week, my husband informed me I have to back to work.

I have a Teams interview with a company today I used to corroborate with while working with my last employer. They all but begged me to go to work for them when I quit my last job, so I’m pretty confident I’ll be employed soon. But, I REALLY don’t want to go back to work. But, I feel like I have to because my husband has been retired from the military for 14 years, is 100% disabled (mostly mental), and his field of work normally takes him away from home. It’s just completely discouraging and depressing. I finally had a chance to really prioritize me, and it gets taken away.

If I do get the job with this company I’m interviewing with today, the position will be 100% telework. That is about the only positive I can find other than the fact I had the networking to get the job so quickly in the first place.
