TBH surprised @⚖️. Thought I’d be real 130s. Yes, only a pound but it’s about knowing myself. At this juncture, I should be able to nail it with certainty. I didn’t sleep well last night (Woke up at 4 AM this morning) which is probably the reason.
I’ve been hitting 10k+ steps at least 6x per week. Did not yesterday… Worked most of the day and played tennis last night. I have been doing really well with protein… Tonight - girls night out, so planning it out. Gotta figure out this sleep thing… It’s holding me back from my best self…
Today: 🙆♀️🏋️♀️📿🎾.
NSV: Feeling comfortable & positive. Practicing staying in the moment.
WOE & Health Journey
****************************
WOE since 7/2023: MAD: (Mostly Animal Diet) Whole Foods. No processed foods. Animal-based proteins: EGGS, Beef, pork, chicken, seafood, venison and grass-fed whey protein. I count macros & kcals - always will. (Since portion control is my issue). Keto is high-fat but I’m now leaner animal proteins with lower fat than Keto. I thought I was “KETOVORE” but I’ve been told I am “MAD”.
I had paralyzing IBS for 20+ years. My mother was diagnosed with celiac’s disease in her 50’s. Following her lead, I eliminated wheat, oat, barley, and rye in 2015 …. Dairy? Hard cheese, HWC and butter - an occasional high protein Greek yogurt. Vegetables destroy my digestive system… I love vegetables, but when I splurge, I pay for it for several days… I do enjoy berries, lemons, limes. Avocados are my weakness. Enjoy a piece(s) of dark chocolate on occasion. Generally, I eat btw noon and 6 pm. (IF18/6). Alcohol? Used to be somewhat of a weekend social drinker and would enjoy a good martini/scotch or Paloma at home while cooking dinner. NO MORE. Root of many evils. Primarily, the destruction of will power and the enemy of optimal choices. I’d rather journey toward my best-self. I haven’t given up alcohol completely, but I enjoy it sparingly on special occasions. This is me. I finally feel terrific.

Aug 14, 2014 @ 157lbs (down 15 from heaviest of 172lbs in 2010), I decided to take serious control of my health. I lost 30lbs by 11/15/2014. Weight @ 128-132lbs through the end of 2020. Six years!
2020 through 2021, I fluctuated 132-140lbs. 🎢🎢🎢 Always self-conscious.
8/1/ 2022 crept up to 142lbs.
Dropped to 128lbs again by 10/30 - held 130lbs till 2/1/23.
2023 Back ⬆️ 145lbs by July 15! 15lbs BOOM! Enjoyed eating & margaritas way too much. My nutrition has always been somewhat healthy BUT portion control is/was THE issue. The yo-yo is exhausting & unhealthy. Takes up way too much brain space.
I learned MY choices created an emotional 🎢 roller coaster with yo-yo weight and fitness. My forever goal is to be healthy & fit & maintain approx. 130lbs & IN SHAPE - to enjoy my “Senior” years to my fullest.
While active with 🚶♀️& 🎾 it’s clear a ST 🏋️♀️🤸🏼routine was absent. Strength & balance are 💯most important now. Time to incorporate ST 🏋️♀️ 🙆♀️🤸🏼as my TRUE focus. I want healthy/fit choices to be my first nature.

I enjoy reading everyone’s posts with my morning coffee.
Rnd 256 EW 184.0
4/26 185.0 starting with a bump up. I ate a whole binge bag of Hersey kisses last night. I was just tired and hadn’t eaten enough all day.
I’m feeling refocused this morning. I just need to make one more good choice then I did yesterday.
To jump in the conversation- The only real way to lose weight is to eat less but exercise is important.
Everyone should move every single day. BUT I will say you get what you put into it. Exercise is hard. There is a difference between being active and working out. I live an active life vs. I workout for 2hrs a day.
The people I know that are willing to push a little harder, go a little faster, jump a little higher, lift a little heavier DO lose weight a bit faster, build more muscle and are toner then the people who don’t get out of their comfort zone.
No judgement at all but I think sometimes people confuse being active and working out.

Round 258 will begin with my 1600+ mile drive home. the drive begins today in several hours. Thank you @quiltingjaine for facilitating this group and thanks to all of you here. The group support is wonderful.
I also thought I would throw out there an old topic that arose at dinner last night. We discussed the concept of "you can't out exercise a bad diet". My last few weeks/month in Florida speaks to that. As the conversation went, yesterday, I walked 6.66 miles (not including general daily activities). Group pace was slow and it took 2 hours, and my active calories were 380 cal. Now, when I get on a Ben and Jerry's bender, I eat two pints in 30 minutes. If those calories are on top of my daily caloric needs, we are looking at around 2400 excess calories. At the group walking pace, and caloric burn rate, it would take me 12.6 hours of walking to burn those extra calories off. Not sure why I am bringing this up. Maybe it is more me journaling and reminding myself of things I need to keep in mind as I get back on track. Anything, exercise is wonderful and does great things for ones heath, so do it. BUT, as we know here on MFP, tracking and monitoring our calories has great value when monitoring ones weight. Sherri (me) needs to remember this!!
@SModa61 It's very true that you can't outrun the fork. Thanks for the reminder. It couldn't come at a better time for me! BTW I go back and forth with the salty then sweet and it can definitely ruin a perfect day otherwise. I think I've mentioned it on here before that I have been known to keep a little salt and a little sugar on a small plate so when this starts happening in my mouth I can just dip my wet pinky in each one back & forth if needed instead of actually eating something. Yes, it's still a few small calories/carbs but better than eating multiple whole snacks. The other downfall is that it is not telling my body "no" or retraining it in any way, but sometimes it will get me through a bad bout of salt to sweet to salt and the end maybe justifies the means?5 -

04/25 …..???….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
04/26 -DNW- I typically don’t weigh on Fridays. Yesterday I stuck to my eating plan. When the snack monster creeped in last night after I already had my snack, I ate some beef jerky. It may have put me slightly over calorie, I’m not sure, but it was definitely better than previous nights. On the mend? Maybe. I’m hoping it was a small step for man and a giant leap for mankind. Anyway, I had Zero exercise as I babysat yesterday after meeting the school bus. I simply ran out of time once the workers left. I’ll try for some movement this morning before they get here since I’m up early for the school bus for DGS. But first, coffee, coffee, coffee.

Day, Comment
4/26 - DNW
DH wanted fish and chips yesterday & we didn't feel like driving downtown to the Irish pub, so we went to Culver’s. I had a burger. I rarely eat beef—it doesn’t agree with me—but it sounded so good, and it was, but I’ve had an upset stomach since last night. My system pretty clearly does not want beef, which is fine with me. Next time I’ll stick with the salad!

I’m Kira, working, an empty nester, and married. I have tried many diets and programs over the years, but nothing has worked for long. Now I am working on loving life and trying to be healthier.
You don't have to be perfect; you just must be better than you were before.
Goals for this round are:
1. Check in every day.
2. Weigh in every day.
3. Drink my water every day.
👍👍This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE

4/26 – 187.7 – yesterday was one of those long days where you sit at your desk at deal with issue after issue. I’m hoping that today is better. I did weigh in, I did check in but I did not drink my water. Not sure why it is so hard to drink water, especially at my desk. This should be easy.

Hi, I'm Charissa, back for another round. I will keep coming back and I will get this thing right, sooner or later. Hopefully sooner!
Thank you, QuiltingJaine, for keeping us focused in 2024!
So here we go 2024... my motto -
🏋🏾♀️ Don't think, just do it!!
Eat well 🥗to Live Well 🚢✈️🧳
H2O - Make it Flow 💦💦💦
Note to Self: Alcohol kills weight loss as the focus is burning alcohol calories and not fat calories!
Good progress towards the end of round 257. Sometimes I just get in a funk and get tired of all that needs to be done. I don't stop but it's not 100% effort either. Feeling good at the start of this round so here we go!
Within the next 2 rounds - I want to see 213. It's possible in this round but it will be tough but, who knows....
Goals this round:
Goal/Current State
- Tracking/Under Calorie Budget 🍎- Ended round 257 very well
- Macros - hit Protein ✅ - Doing Well
- Water - 64oz minimum > trying hard for 80💧 Hit 80 a few times and rarely below 64oz
- Closing my rings M-F🚶🏽 -Excellent

4/26 217.8 Always a bump as the round starts. But that's ok. It was all about the salt. I guess it's better here than at the end!🙂 This was a particularly frustrating work week and we were super busy last week so I'm ready for a nice relaxing, do nothing (except my Sat work out) weekend!! 3/4 macros ✅💧🚶🏽

@skyleen75 ~ Good point on active vs working out. I aim for both but my job is relatively sedentary. When it's nice out, I try to get a walk in. Can't wait to retire and build my "active life" in addition to working out.
@deepwoodslady ~ That's an interesting approach to salt and sugar. I think I'd miss the crunch. Sometimes it's all about the crunch. I try to keep rice cakes on hand both salty and sweet to conquer that craving. The trick is to make sure that's the only thing available that meets those needs.

@itladyee I agree that it’s all about the crunch. I eat a couple of saltines with butter (up to 5) to satisfy that “I need something” craving. Salt and crunch8
