October Lose 4% Body Weight Challenge

Hi,
For October I’m setting myself a challenge to lose 4% off my body weight and am inviting anyone to join me doing so.
In September I started a 120 mile walking challenge that went really well (123 miles + 5 tomorrow and 8.8lbs off) but I want to mix up my exercise this month and initiating a challenge will push me to suceed more so than following others.
There is no particular exercise needed to be undertaken just weight loss in any fashion you like, the goal is for on 31st you to be 4% lighter than you were on the 1st (formula below).
Each week members should just post how much you’ve lost and muse about how you’ve done it. I will put weigh-ins for Monday as this is the last day of the month and for more people to see this post over the weekend.
Starting Weight – xxx lbs. (Saturday 1st October)
Week 1 –xxx lbs. and xx % lost (Monday 10th October)
Week 2 - xxx lbs. and xx % lost (Monday 17th October)
Week 3 - xxx lbs. and xx % lost (Monday 24th October)
Week 4 - xxx lbs. and xx % lost (Monday 31st October)
Total Lost – xxx lbs. (Monday 31st October)
Total % Lost – xx % (Monday 31st October)
Thanks and I hope you’ll join me.
##CALCULATIONS##
Unless someone knows better, I’ll use these formulae for calculations.
1. YOUR 4% goal is;
(October starting weight) divided by 100 multiplied by 4 = goal weight loss
e.g. I weigh 224lbs
224lbs/100 x 4 = 8.96lbs weight loss goal
2. For the final weigh-in, to calculate how much you ACTUALLY lost is;
(Total weight loss) multiplied by 100 then divided by (October starting weight) = % lost
E.g. If I lost 12lbs
12lbs x 100/224 = 5.4% off starting weight.

Great idea! I am in! My 4% would be approx 7.5 lbs!. We should all add each other as friends too for that extra motivation! I always forget where to find my challenge and never end up finishing. I realy think this is a good one as we only have to check in once weekly. I am Jo from Canada and have a 30 lb overall weight loss so 7 would be almost 1/4 way through!
