Posted this in my feed yesterday, and now sharing with you guys too. 10 of the 20 inches lost was off my belly! No pics, no proof, lol ~ I love/hate taking photos because they've become one of my best tools. You can't lie and you can't hide. Putting myself on blast 1) creates incentive to increase effort and 2) highlights new areas to focus on. Still have a looooooooonnnng way before reaching ultimate goals, but its nice to see muscle memory is real! At a size 15, I haven't been this small is more than 10 years.

Goals: Lose 6-8bs, 2-3 inches and 1-2% body fat ❎❎❎
Lost less than a pound, 1.25 inches combined on arms and legs | regained 0.2% body fat and 1/2 inch back on my belly. Starting dietary 200-400 calorie deficit and Intermittent Fasting 18-24 hrs. Breaking fast differently, including more protein, and continuing to look for new ways to increase step count and add more strength in May.
January 1st - April 1st, I've lost 17 pounds and a total of 20.8 inches from 11 areas. 🥳 Thrilled to see my hard work reversing prediabetes and years of physical damage. Getting leaner and stronger and chair dancing proud of myself about it!! 57 and hormonal, it's taken longer than expected and a much rougher road than my youth.
Reaching onederland (March 13th) meant the end of 10+ years and up to 80 pounds!! gained and relost too many times to count. Determined not to self-sabotage ... have to ask: now what? Weight was my focus so long, I need a new target!! If I should lose an additional 8% body fat to reach the "standard" for my age, height and sex ~ and up to 15% to reach excellent ~ that's @ least another 8-15 months of work before I can begin to relax and think maintenance.13 -

05/03 -182.6- (Trend weight182.6) This is an extra-early weigh in. I usually don’t weigh myself on Fridays. Whoosh! I’m not sure why, Probably glycogen. It was a good day yesterday, however. It was a lower calorie day on the zig-zag plan with a max of 1250 calories and 78 carbs. I was a bit under on both. Tomorrow my oldest DD graduates with her first college degree. I am so excited for her. She is turning 41 next month so going back to college for a teaching degree was a big deal. I have to venture to a faraway town I never go to. A VERY BIG town for a country girl like me so I’m a bit nervous about the drive. Thank Goodness for GPS. I heard about some weird circular turnabouts they have there so I am a little terrified right now, I’m not gonna lie. This should be interesting. There will be a celebratory dinner out afterward. I will have little control of the menu but all control of the choices. I hope I keep this positive attitude at the restaurant tomorrow! Today I am working on water consumption as I’ve let that slip lately. Have a great weekend everyone.

Goals for this round; to lose! To be consistent and lose something; to get back into the 130s! Strive to have a feeding frenzy free 😊. Good luck everyone for a successful round.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

4/29 141 – (trend 141) 6.96 miles walked, started with a cold Saturday afternoon on our walk back from Chester, throat started to be sore and nose started running like a tap; yesterday I just wanted to feed it!!! I didn’t make my mini goal, but, that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!
4/30 142 – trend (141.2) 6.81 miles walked, still ‘snotty’, still feeding! But that is to stop today, can’t go on, the scales are showing this!!

Treating this weigh in as the end of the round as leaving this afternoon for long bank holiday weekend in the peak district, a loss of 0.8 since end of last round. Cough subsided a lot; had much more sleep last night; Fitbit shows 7 hours 11 minutes.
5/4 DNW - managed to squeeze 5.07 miles walk in between rain, supermarket weekly shop, rain, traveling to Darley Dale & more rain!! 76 calories over.

No pics, no proof, lol ~ I love/hate taking photos because they've become one of my best tools. You can't lie and you can't hide. Lost less than a pound, 1.25 inches combined on arms and legs | regained 0.2% body fat and 1/2 inch back on my belly. Starting dietary 200-400 calorie deficit and Intermittent Fasting 18-24 hrs. Breaking fast differently, including more protein, and continuing to look for new ways to increase step count and add more strength in May.
January 1st - April 1st, I've lost 17 pounds and a total of 20.8 inches from 11 areas. 🥳 Thrilled to see my hard work reversing prediabetes and years of physical damage. Getting leaner and stronger and chair dancing proud of myself about it!! 57 and hormonal, it's taken longer than expected and a much rougher road than my youth.
Reaching onederland (March 13th) meant the end of 10+ years and up to 80 pounds!! gained and relost too many times to count. Determined not to self-sabotage ... have to ask: now what? Weight was my focus so long, I need a new target!! If I should lose an additional 8% body fat to reach the "standard" for my age, height and sex ~ and up to 15% to reach excellent ~ that's @ least another 8-15 months of work before I can begin to relax and think maintenance.

I know that DH isn’t going to be perfect on his new diet but going off plan should be absolutely delicious not just a weak moment where he grabbed something stupid from the pantry.
This man also spends money on anything he wants all the time so it’s weird when he gets hung up on a $3 box of pasta…

My “mood” is not where I want it. Need to food plan. My “5/1” first day of the month “kick-off” fell on its face. Today will be better.
133 is a wake-up call. Food hasn’t done this…. Stress, no walking, no sleep is the culprit. Seems like my body is holding on to 💩 (no pun intended)… my systems are on strike. Let’s see if I can jump start my system today. More 💦💦💦 and walk.

Yes, life happens, but there was no REAL reason why I could not comply to my vision for this round. Also, that no good, very bad stressful situation is still alive and so that’s probably it… I was unable to lift/elevate my thought processes. Old habits die hard.
Will keep the same goals for round 259 as this round… But will also focus on journaling and going back to Habit Mechanic. Just sat unopened almost the entire round.
Will also add back tracking next round. I’ve been tracking only my activity & protein, so I’m going back to 💯 measuring/posting all consumption in MFP. The routine will help!

WOE since 7/2023: MAD: (Mostly Animal Diet) Whole Foods. No processed foods. Animal-based proteins: EGGS, Beef, pork, chicken, seafood, venison and grass-fed whey protein. I count macros & kcals - always will. (Since portion control is my issue). Keto is high-fat but I’m now leaner animal proteins with lower fat than Keto. I thought I was “KETOVORE” but I’ve been told I am “MAD”.
I had paralyzing IBS for 20+ years. My mother was diagnosed with celiac’s disease in her 50’s. Following her lead, I eliminated wheat, oat, barley, and rye in 2015 …. Dairy? Hard cheese, HWC and butter - an occasional high protein Greek yogurt. Vegetables destroy my digestive system… I love vegetables, but when I splurge, I pay for it for several days… I do enjoy berries, lemons, limes. Avocados are my weakness. Enjoy a piece(s) of dark chocolate on occasion. Generally, I eat btw noon and 6 pm. (IF18/6). Alcohol? Used to be somewhat of a weekend social drinker and would enjoy a good martini/scotch or Paloma at home while cooking dinner. NO MORE. Root of many evils. Primarily, the destruction of will power and the enemy of optimal choices. I’d rather journey toward my best-self. I haven’t given up alcohol completely, but I enjoy it sparingly on special occasions. This is me. I finally feel terrific.
History:
I have ALWAYS been ON a “diet” since at least 9th grade. I have never been comfortable with my body - NEVER EVER- no matter my weight.

Aug 14, 2014 @ 157lbs (down 15 from heaviest of 172lbs in 2010), I decided to take serious control of my health. I lost 30lbs by 11/15/2014. Weight @ 128-132lbs through the end of 2020. Six years!
2020 through 2021, I fluctuated 132-140lbs. 🎢🎢🎢 Always self-conscious.
8/1/ 2022 crept up to 142lbs.
Dropped to 128lbs again by 10/30 - held 130lbs till 2/1/23.
2023 Back ⬆️ 145lbs by July 15! 15lbs BOOM! Enjoyed eating & margaritas way too much. My nutrition has always been somewhat healthy BUT portion control is/was THE issue. Started tracking again 7/15/23. Joined “Just give me 10 days” R231 in beginning of 8/2023. Here we are @ 130ish determined to…. STOP the 🎢 & be in the

The yo-yo is exhausting & unhealthy. Takes up way too much brain space.
I learned MY choices created an emotional 🎢 roller coaster with yo-yo weight and fitness. My forever goal is to be healthy & fit & maintain approx. 130lbs & IN SHAPE - to enjoy my “Senior” years to my fullest.
While active with 🚶♀️& 🎾 it’s clear a ST 🏋️♀️🤸🏼routine was absent. Strength & balance are 💯most important now. Time to incorporate ST 🏋️♀️ 🙆♀️🤸🏼as my TRUE focus. I want healthy/fit choices to be my first nature.

/Nope, walked, parched myself/ Tip toeing back into the group after a week of AWOL. I have not posted since 4/22. Our little mini trip turned into an excuse to pay zero attention to my goals for last round, and to neglect the beginning of this round. No scale available, but that should never matter. I like the non-scale-victories better anyway.

MFP tells me that if every day were like yesterday I would weigh 207.4 lbs in five weeks. I know every day is not alike; in fact it would be impossible. For example, today I have pizza for lunch with friends, so it may take me longer than five weeks to reach 207.4. 😊

Lost less than a pound, 1.25 inches combined on arms and legs | regained 0.2% body fat and 1/2 inch back on my belly. Starting dietary 200-400 calorie deficit and Intermittent Fasting 18-24 hrs. Breaking fast differently, including more protein, and continuing to look for new ways to increase step count and add more strength in May.
January 1st - April 1st, I've lost 17 pounds and a total of 20.8 inches from 11 areas. 🥳 Thrilled to see my hard work reversing prediabetes and years of physical damage. Getting leaner and stronger and chair dancing proud of myself about it!! 57 and hormonal, it's taken longer than expected and a much rougher road than my youth.
Reaching onederland (March 13th) meant the end of 10+ years and up to 80 pounds!! gained and relost too many times to count. Determined not to self-sabotage ... have to ask: now what? Weight was my focus so long, I need a new target!! If I should lose an additional 8% body fat to reach the "standard" for my age, height and sex ~ and up to 15% to reach excellent ~ that's @ least another 8-15 months of work before I can begin to relax and think maintenance.
Wow!! - you have made tremedous progress!! You look amazing! Thanks for posting the pictures and also the details of how you've done it and the postive affects it's had on your health. Very inspiring, too! I never measure - going to do it now and take before pictures

@Skyleen75 I totally get you with clearing the house of certain foods. It's the only thing that works for me, if I see it, I want it. My willpower goes from 100 - zero in the click of a cupboard door. Haven't eaten potato chips since starting joining this group mid March this year. Today I opened up a kitchen cupboard to get a plate and high on the shelf is a 6 pack of my favourites. First thought was "yum, haven't had those in a while" ...... . OH has bought them for the grandkids who are staying over the long weekend so I need to make sure they eat all six packets otherwise they're going in the bin!

4/28 - 179.0 - I've been part of this challenge off and on (more on) since Dec 2020. I haven't posted since Sept 2023. I'm almost back to my heaviest weight. I can blame this on not being able to exercise due to some major health issues, but truthfully I think I just started eating more and more as self-comfort and some depression. I never think I'm going to "really" have any major health problems (most people feel this way, I believe). Because I've had two major issues over the past 2 years, I started losing my confidence that everything was going to be okay. However, I'm so much better now!! And ready to get healthy again!! It makes me nervous to talk about my health issues (it's like putting it out there in the universe is bad luck - I know, I'm weird), but later I hope to post a few comments as my experience might help others. I'm glad to be back posting, Everyone on here has always been so positive and supportive of each other💗

4/30 - 177.4 - Enjoying the initial downward trend while losing some water weight these first days mainly due to lower carbs and drinking a lot more water.
5/01 - 177.6 - It looks like I'm settling in on the 177s after the first initial weight drop from mostly water weight. I'm calorie cycyling where I eat around 1000 to 1600 calories each day, maintaining an average of about 1200-1300 for the week. The reason it helps me is I'm a binger and if I'm still hungry at the end of the day, it helps me to know if I eat more calories, they are "planned" and it keeps me from bingeing. I unfortunately am a little bit of a control freak where it's all or nothing, and when I would eat over my "alloted" calories for the day, I would feel like I blew it and binge, and was always starting over. I wonder when I'm my "normal" weight if I will still feel this way, or the fact that I'm not "dieting" will keep me from feeling like I have to eat everything in the house this once before starting over. So, this calorie cycying keeps me from getting in my head thinking I blew it (which of course if I was able to think reasonabley about it, I did not), and know that I have a plan for these days. What ever works, right? I'm a work in progress.
5/02 - 178.6 - No worries! I had my higher calorie day yesterday and I had way too much salt, but even if this wasn't the case, I have to remind myself that it's perfectly normal for weight to fluctuate each day!!!!!
5/03 - 177.2 - It's beautiful this morning but the blackflies are out, so it's the treadmill for a few weeks. After 2 major health issues over the past 2 years, I'm doing my best to stay in the moment and appreciate every day. I'm such an in-my-head person. Even when I walk on the beach (where the blackflies aren't ), I have to stop and make myself focus on my beautiful surroundings as not to take them for granite. Have a nice day and weekend everyone!

@Skyleen75Big one is cleaning out the pantry. DH gets weird about throwing away (donating unopened) food. I expect resistance about getting rid of pasta, rice and high sugar or fat items. Things I don’t eat and he CAN NOT eat. Keeping them would mean his new diet is temporary. It can’t be temporary.
I know that DH isn’t going to be perfect on his new diet but going off plan should be absolutely delicious not just a weak moment where he grabbed something stupid from the pantry.
This man also spends money on anything he wants all the time so it’s weird when he gets hung up on a $3 box of pasta…

Love this!!! That's so the truth- if it's off plan, it better be delicious, not just there! And good luck getting "the man" on board- mine has his stash in a box at the back of the pantry so I don't get tempted :-)

I love this too! A good reminder that you can go off plan just make the most you can of it. I can't tell you how many times I've eaten something and have said, Wow, that was not worth the calories. Now I try to make sure every calorie counts toward nutrition or enjoyment, or preferably both

I think that definitely plays a part in the way I feel too.
4/30 170.6 The scale has been all over the place lately when I weigh myself, and it's fairly new. I try to go with the weight that I get 2 or 3 the same. Might have to get another set. I have another one that is newer also but it's not digital.
5/1 170.2 Good day yesterday. Finished out April with meeting my goals and exercising each day. Trying to not get discouraged with the slow process. I think a lot of things are contributing to that (not enough sleep, out to eat too often, etc...). Hoping I can finish this round out with a loss.

4/27 - 124.4 - I want to cry! I'm so embarrassed to post this!! Very humbling. I ate more the last few days than in a long time. Probably not even over 1500 but I know my metabolism is really slow.. plus not drinking as much water. Ugh

4/29 - 123 - Surprised because I went to cracker barrel and figured I might as well get what I want because this week is a bust.. but that was about all I had so? Also I got transferred to a pharmacy that is walking distance from my house so that will give me approx. 30 min walking on days that I work. So although the numbers are higher I am still hoping to reach my GW this round.
4/30 - 124 - got my hormone shot I get every 3 months yesterday... And had a piece of chocolate cake. Cutting out candy and diet sodas caused me to lose 5lbs really fast in March. The past few days I've had more sugar (candy and sweet foods) and I can tell I'm craving it more. Definitely need to chill out on the sugar and then I'll probably see a loss. Some people notice weight gain with the shot but I never really have. I don't think the gain has to do with that. Just need to increase water and cut out excess sugar again.

When I started Keto/LCHF I told my DH that I was getting rid of ALL OF THE PASTA. I’m not sure he was listening but he said okay. I gave 19 pounds of dried pasta to a friend who had a teenage son. 19#!!!! Thank you Sam’s club!Back at the gym yesterday 1st time post-covid.

DH wanted fish and chips yesterday & we didn't feel like driving downtown to the Irish pub, so we went to Culver’s. I had a burger. I rarely eat beef—it doesn’t agree with me—but it sounded so good, and it was, but I’ve had an upset stomach since last night. My system pretty clearly does not want beef, which is fine with me. Next time I’ll stick with the salad!

I’m not weighing or tracking these days, but I feel very bloated and heavy. Also quite lazy. Spring fever? Possibly. I have some big garden jobs waiting for me when the rain and wind stop and I’m hoping being outdoors more will get me out of my funk. Today is very windy so I’m thinking some indoor clearing might be good for the soul. We really don’t have clutter, but there are things I could recycle and places that could stand a good cleaning. Also working on the weed and invasive grass situation, which is annoying but is also exercise! I think the soil we had put in these beds was full of weed and grass seed as I have never had a problem on this scale. Anyway, it does get me out there working, which is where I’m headed now. Rain rain rain! But I got a couple of big garden tasks done yesterday and I’m hoping to clean up another bed between showers this morning. It might be too wet and mucky. DH wants Chinese food today, so we’re going out for late lunch/early dinner. I’m sticking with stir fried veggies & chicken. Who’s a good girl?

We went for Chinese yesterday as planned but I had Kung Pao chicken, so a bit more than just stir fry. It was excellent, though, so although I’m slightly up this morning on the scale and was very thirsty last night, I’m sure some of that is water/salt.

Clearly my no tracking experiment was a disaster. This morning a photo popped up in my FB memories of me about 50 pounds lighter 7 years ago. After that I lost another 20 pounds. So I’ve regained almost 70 pounds, most of it since 2020, and an embarrassing amount in the past year, something I swore I wouldn’t do. I won’t pretend I haven’t eaten more than I should, but I will say that the weight piles on and, in the spurts when I have watched my calories closely, comes off exceedingly slowly. But enough excuses. The photo reminds me how much better I looked and felt with so much less weight to haul around. So my #1 priority going forward, starting today, is to get the weight back off. I’m going to spend some time looking at old food logs to remind myself what worked before, and I’m putting my walking shows on to get back to walking 5-6 miles most days, which I did religiously until we moved here in 2018. I got sick then, could barely move for almost a year, and never got back to it. I was also put on a very strict elimination diet for several months in 2018-19, and I blame that diet for messing up my metabolism. Anyway, this has to stop, and it stops now. Thanks for letting me spew without judgment (or at least thanks for keeping judgments to yourselves!). Next round is my new start.

4/26 134.5 I expected a higher bounce since I ate most of a loaded baked potato. I got grilled shrimp instead of the intended lobster and passed on the warm loaves of bread.
4/27 134.5 We went for BBQ at lunch but I wasn’t hungry so picked at my brisket. Ate my potato skin for dinner - added butter, cheese and sour cream. Quite a treat since I have always loved potato skin. Today is French toast breakfast at the clubhouse. I hope they have eggs and bacon, too.

5/1 133.5 I felt as if I didn’t drink enough water yesterday. We went to El Pollo Loco for dinner- hadn’t been there in a long time. It is probably the healthiest fast food there is - grilled chicken, salad, broccoli but our meal included a churro, which of course, I ate. Why is it that I had awokened at 3AM and at 11PM I was not the least bit tired and hadn’t yawned at all?????

History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two “kids”, who are very much adults, a DGS, and second GS on the way. We have two parents, 87(mother), 85(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an “all in or not” person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse (father has since passed and I am DPOA, Personal representative AKA executor, trustee, and oversee the majority of my mother’s care). A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

4/26 – renpho 126.6 Made it to my MIL. Today is a repack day. Still not back to proper tracking, but I will be thought during my travels.
4/27 – renpho 126.2 Tracked perfectly yesterday and made good choices dining out last night. Hit my numbers. Online now for about 3 minutes to make my post. I have 45 minutes to do breakfast, deal with the cats and get settled into the car. We drive 820 miles today and stay overnight in Virginia.
4/28 – renpho 125.6 not sure how but grateful. Hopefully home scale will agree tomorrow morning. Calories tracked, but solidly over.
4/29 – 126.0 Home! Down around three or four pounds since the New Year, and my creep up. Glad I stopped it when I did. That’s an improvement for me as my life history shows repeat swings of 25 or 30 lbs. While I am in the range I have stated I want, this number is the max, so I would like to clean a little off so that my “bumps” still remain in range.
4/30 – 128.2 Yep, went off the deep end yesterday. Scale is confirming lots of salt, carbs and quantity.
5/1 – 128.6 Disappointing. I did track thoroughly and closed the day with good number. BUT, I had pasta for dinner. For whatever reason, I have observed over the years that have a gain the day after a meal of pasta. This and my 4/29 bender will sort out over the next days as long as I stay on track.
5/2 – 127.8
5/3 – DNW I drank coffee before remembering the scale
5/4 – 127.2 slowly moving back down despite poor choices all week. I need to stop accepting my excuses to make bad choices. In part, I know I need to get back to what I used to do, same breakfast every morning, with small predictable selection of lunches, then variation at dinner.
5/5 – 127.0 Closed the circle on the round. No net damaged which I am grateful for.
