John is back!
Apparently Max took it all in his stride. He was carrying a Bakewell tart which he had made at school. He thanked John, but I'm not sure he understood the upheaval. (He is high functioning autistic, but enormously able) Edie would have been profusive in her thanks.
A mission of mercy.

Slept pretty good last night after terrible insomnia the night before(finally getting to sleep and staying asleep around 5AM to 7:30AM) the rest of the night barely dosing off and on. This was after a warm shower and melatonin.
Went to MIL's - walked her dog for a bit of a shorter walk then did yard work there with dh. He did make the comment about "sitting down in side and letting me do all of it" when I mentioned wearing a mask because of the flying dirt/grass from the weed eater.
I just had a quick lunch- now heading out to my garden. EXCITED- going to get my tomatoes and cucumbers that are big enough, planted in the two raised beds. Not all the plants are ready to plant but want the ones that are ready to go out. Then more weeding. That darned Bermuda grass is so bad. I need to do better at using the weedblock. It did help but it just grew on the sides. Filled one huge yardwaste container and still have at least one or two more. Will also cut the juniper that is hanging from the neighbors yard.
Zumba tonight. Will skip the energy drink so I will hopefully sleep good tonight.
Weather is warming up again after rain and cold on Saturday. 85 and 86 the next two days. 91 when we are in Lodi on Saturday. Thankfully we will be inside during the hot part of the day.
We are getting a huge booth this time. Looking forward to seeing how we do. Nice to be able to spread out.
Have great rest of your day/evening Ladies

Had a nice late lunch at 99 ,i had a small garden salad,a diet soda and a childs cheeseburger.
On the way back had to stop at a gas station and didn't make it all the way to the restroom.ugh

well, got most of my gardening done- didn't do any more weeding or chainsawing but did get both raised beds planted with what is ready. Lots of cucumbers and tomatoes planted. Looking forward to fresh veggies in a few months. So far, 9 kinds of tomatoes with more to get planted(just a bit small now-most are cherry varieties)
At 10,000 already and have class tonight. Step count will be good today
Now snacking on fresh cherries and some water.
So far, ate 500 calories but earned 700 from exercise.4 -
Cucumbers in one raised bed, tomatoes in the other. The clear plastic is spike sheets to keep unwanted critters out. It won't be as bad this year I don't think now that the stray back yard cat is gone. Jack liked to dig/lay/poop in my garden. He passed away after being the backyard cat for MANY years. Always hung out there but never touched him until I buried him. Called him Jack- one eyed Jack.

Kylia, glad you mentioned how much you liked your Stihl GTA 26 battery operated pruning saw. This afternoon I tried it out. It's very easy to use. I watched a couple YouTube videos first to get some of the finer points. Using it reminded me how out of shape I was, lol. And how little my hands are, it was a stretch to disengage the safety and operate the thing at the same time, but once I figured it out, it went smoothly. I haven't checked into any of the other tools that runs off that battery.
Heather - thanks for relating your love story - how you met John - again. I'd heard it before but always love hearing you retell it. That's a nice amount of tea.
Rebecca - glad your kitchen is coming back together, slow but sure.
Debbie - glad to hear you were able to plant some tomatoes. Most of mine are becoming trees! I should have staked them better- drove a chopstick in beside each stem when they were little and tied the plants to each of them with a piece of yarn. They now tower over the chopsticks but it's better than nothing. Your plants look safe from invaders, nice set-up. You'll have a great garden this summer.
Ally- prayers for Tracy for the best outcome. Happy Birthday Doris!
Rita - so glad the move went OK. Great story. I once watched a show where someone was called Venus Flytrap...WKRP in Cincinnati?? I always thought that was a cool name for a character in a Sci Fi story.
Rosemarie - I'm glad you are taking time off from the cat rescue, you'll be busy enough with your plants when you get them put in. I'm sure the cat rescue appreciated the help and you were able to get back in the world again after your husband passed. Onward and upward.
Tracey - great cards! I remember when you got the Cricut, you sure have enjoyed using it. I'm not surprised you made a difference in some of the children's lives the short time you were there. You're a natural and will do well when you're employed in the field.
This morning I drove to a local little hardware store to pick up a bag of potting soil. An old friend works there, and it was fun catching up with him. We talked for a couple minutes about diabetes, I knew he'd been under treatment for Type 2. He said he had been on insulin shots, then metformin. He lost 30 pounds, and no longer takes any medication, now just watches what he eats. Good to hear a success story like that.
Welcome new gals! We're an eclectic group and talk about all kinds of things that support our physical and mental health.

SW WA State where it's sunny, cool and very windy. Big heat up coming this weekend. 85F which is chilly for some of you!5 -
Thank you, everyone, for the welcome. I am so glad to get my act together. I tried Yoga on YouTube instead of doing it in public. My golden retriever thought it was a good time to sit in my lap, and then she laid on top of me. I decided to let her share the mat with me. I thought giving her a bully stick and treats would distract her. Other than that, I loved Yoga! The stretching felt so good. It is fun trying something new. YouTube is excellent for these exercise classes.
I look forward to getting to know all of you, and I wish you a great day tomorrow.7 -

Good morning, from sunny Northern Ireland. There is some light cloud but the forecast is clear.
@mcmillonmail Youβre so right. YouTube is so useful. You can search for any kind of exercise and get loads to choose from.
Rebecca: I hope they get the kitchen finished quickly. The disruption π« must be so annoying.
This afternoon I have flower arranging. The girl who does the teas canβt come today so Iβm stepping in for her. And I havenβt got my flowers yet as DH did the shopping yesterday it wasnβt on the list. Mind you, Iβd rather choose my own flowers π
Tomorrow we have our last Latin group before summer break. The group are going out next Thursday for lunch at our local Further Ed College. The catering students run a restaurant on the top floor of the building. The food is excellent. We are having a tasting menu, so looking forward to that.
Tomorrow after lunch is card making, I must post some of the cards I have made so far Iβll take some photos later today.
Have a bright day π₯°

Because the grandchildren are coming tomorrow, I decided to brave the very short walk to the shops around the corner. Ow!Ow!Ow! Horrible pain, despite doubling up on the painkillers.
John is going shopping today , so I didn't have to go, but I knew exactly what I wanted and I love a chat with all our 'village ' shopkeepers. They all know me well.
Got everything, but the butcher had no Scotch Eggs as the supplier has stopped coming out this way as costs are so high. Disaster!! He is looking for a new one to the old standard. Most are not.
I could barely hobble home with my trolley. Found a wall to sit on and asked a builder, who was taking a break, if he could wheel my trolley home for me. He was happy to and we swapped stories of hip replacements.
Phew! Now recovering with a strong coffee.
I won't be doing that again, but I so miss my little chats. Only 3 weeks to go tomorrow.

My friend G is in Paris and is out for a celebration lunch. This is the menu. I'm having the Tartare, PΓͺche, and Brioche. What are you having?

Heather: I am so jealous of your village. It sounds like a Doc Martin type of place. I watched the 45 minute documentary of Mr. Bates v The Post Office. I have not watched the 4 part mini-series. That is quite a story. Enough to make me decide to continue to keep a paper trail on some accounts! 3 more weeks! I am counting the days for you!
Rebecca: We had men in the house to install flooring a few years ago. They were here just short of a week. I was so exhausted by the end! And I wasn't the one laying the flooring!
Terri: I hope you enjoy your last Latin Group before summer!
GrandMallie: I remember gray, slightly rainy, overcast days on the Cape. Those days can be long but walking on the beach can be fun. Sometimes the waves are great to watch on those days!
Lanette: I hope your A1C is better this month!
Vickie and Lanette and others who mentioned that it is probably best I left the rescue. Yes, I will go one more time next week. I am excited at the idea of being less tired and with less heat exhaustion on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Vickie..I have not thought about planting in garden pots, though I have several pots!
Well I joined a gym where a regular group of ladies gets together for exercise 4 mornings a week. And as luck would have it the long time instructor there age 51 has suddenly resigned. She was well liked. I don't have the full story yet because I was at the rescue. I hope this gym still plans to have this exercise class. This is what I was planning on doing since I was no longer doing the rescue.
I believe I am mostly an introvert. But I might be a borderline extrovert because although I can make ice coffee here at home I am inclined to drive to McDonalds and get their ice coffee. Several of the ladies know me there and just this contact seems to make my day better. Strange how that works! I have a zoom church group at 10:30 and there is a zoom meditation group at 1pm. i have to be careful that I don't totally live a Zoom Life!
For the couple of people that live in GA ..NPR has started an 8 part series on the Athens GA music scene. I believe one episode will be a discussion of the B52's, a group I liked. The NPR show is called World Cafe and this is a series called A Sense of Place. The first episode was last night.

Rosemarie - That's what G is having!

Heather: That looks delicious..I wonder if there is caramel inside?
I wanted to also say that my 3rd order of Nutrisystem came yesterday. This deal required me to buy desserts and snacks. the first order I ate them all in 48 hours. The second order I did better and with this order I plan to throw them all out!
So maybe my diet is improving! Rosemarie from Georgia8 -
