Day 33-05/12 - 148.6 - Ended up getting a little sunburnt yesterday with all of my planting. I sure didn't mean for that to happen. I did want to get a base tan before Mexico. Going to a play this afternoon : - ) Still not smoking, but still wanting to lol.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS on not smoking for this long!

My body went "on strike" for a while when I quit, like my systems were pushing me to go back; I think that was the hardest part- and frustration seeing my weight go up for a little bit. And the cravings came and went for a long time (including dreaming that I had smoked!) It takes a while for our body (and minds) to adjust to change of long term habits!

Yes, the way that my body is reacting is almost too much.
The only thing stopping me from smoking today is not wanting to go through those excruciating first 3-4 days again. This is the beginning of day 7 today.

I guess that bloating and stuff is common for a few weeks?

Cut and pasted from Healthline, WebMD, Quitnow, etc.:

"Why am I swelling after I quit smoking?
This is typically a result of your body adjusting to not having nicotine. For most people, bloating lasts for a few weeks and then fades"

"Why is my metabolism slow after quitting smoking?
You burn about 250 calories if you smoke a pack a day. So when you quit and your metabolism slows down, your body has these extra calories it has to deal with, and many people gain weight."

"Can quitting nicotine make you retain water?
You might gain 3 to 5 pounds due to water retention during the first week after quitting. A need for fewer calories. After you stop smoking, you may use fewer calories than when you were smoking"

"smokers’ flu is an aftermath of quitting smoking. The nicotine in cigarette smoke is addicting. While it activates the neurotransmitters in the brain, it induces feelings of happiness and relaxation. The nicotine-transmitter binding induces the production of hormones that activates specific feels. So, when nicotine is lacking, the body has to adjust to new conditions, and thus the symptoms appear. Smokers’ flu takes around two-four weeks to disappear"

"How long does brain fog last after quitting smoking?
1-2 weeks: After one week, symptoms should begin to subside. Many symptoms will still linger, but by this time, you have made it through the hardest part. 2-4 weeks: Symptoms such as anxiety, depression, cough, and brain fog should begin to improve. You may still struggle with low energy and occasional cravings."

"What happens to your digestive system when you quit smoking?
Constipation is just one of many possible symptoms of nicotine withdrawal. It can be both uncomfortable and distressing. One theory for why quitting smoking often leads to constipation is that your body is no longer experiencing nicotine's stimulating effects. So, digestion slows down, making it hard to pass stool."

"Some people experience constipation, gas, bloating, and other digestive symptoms when they quit smoking. This is typically a result of your body adjusting to not having nicotine. For most people, bloating lasts for a few weeks and then fades."

OMG, a few weeks??? My belly is so bloated and tight that it is stretching my skin. Will I be completely uncomfortable on the 2 planes? It was not comfortable at all sitting in the theatre yesterday for a couple of hours with like a 6 or 7 month pregnant belly.

Who knew that smoking alone burns 250 calories per day?

Hoping for some relief before I leave for holiday next week.
Still "crazy" so far lol. Concentration and motivation are very low, I hope that those come back!

I couldn't get outside yesterday since the heat on my sunburn even while covered up was too much. I feel like if I could have spent some time out in the sunshine I might have felt better.

Obviously this is taking over my life for now. Thanks all for your patience with me. 🤪🤪🤪

At this point I plan to smoke when I get back. I can see the eye rolls.
I just don't want to still be jones-ing during my holiday where smoking has been banned.

Who knows if I will or won't when I get back. I feel like it is helping me to get through this, saying to myself that I can smoke again in 3 weeks.

All of us weight losers have had lots of practice with willpower. Trying to employ that.

    Hi!
    I am Dawn. 63, 5'2"
I have been at this tracking for quite awhile, on this particular thread for 15 out of the 19 iterations of it.
I lost quite a bit (got to 130), but have been slowly gaining weight over the past 2 years despite my efforts.
Highest weight was 207. Began on this thread at 198 pounds

Week 1 Goal: 145.6 - My start weight from the last 100. Plunking this in each week until I hit it.
Week 1 actual weight: 147.2 - started the week at 146.8

Week 2 Goal: 145.6 - My start weight from the last 100. Plunking this in each week until I hit it and then go from there.
Week 2 actual weight: 146.2 - Started the week at 148.0 - Hit my goal once

Week 3 Goal: 145.6 - My start weight from the last 100. Plunking this in each week until I hit it and then go from there. Hit it one time during week 2. Hit below it this week
    Week 3 actual weight: 146.4

Week 4 Goal: 145.6. My start weight from the last 100. Plunking this in each week until I hit it and then go from there.
    Week 4 actual weight: 147.6

Day 29-05/08 - 149.8 - Well, pretty much ate non-stop to try to replace cigarettes. Giving myself some grace as I go through this. Ate pretty healthy stuff (cucumbers were on sale for 47cents and hummus on sale also), and chewed lots of sugar free gum. I was basically immobilized the entire day. Bad shape. Cravings are ridiculous this morning as I write this. I normally have at least 5 cigarettes in the mornings. Body is not eliminating anything yet, I think that it is in shock lol

Day 30-05/09 - 149.4 - From the videos that I watched, lack of elimination is normal when stopping smoking, body is trying to hold onto all of the nicotine in the cells? My belly has blown up like a giant balloon over the last couple of days.

Day 31-05/10 - 149.8 - 3rd day of lots of salad, lots of cucumber and hummus. Perhaps my body is holding on to stuff. Entering into day 4 of stopping smoking, so hopefully all of that salad and stuff will come out soon!
Not sure if I still want a 🚬now because of nicotine addiction (which is supposed to be out of the body after day 3?) or just the mental and physical puffing addiction of it. Oh well, 🚭, so hoping that this will soon get easier.

Day 32-05/11 - 149.0 - Beginning day 5 of no smoking. The "smoker's flu" that was supposed to occur on Day 3 hit me last night, a day late - but that is my metabolism I think, very slow. Still no elimination even though I am such a fruit and vegetable eater. I think that it is just turning to methane lol. Perhaps my body is still trying to hold on to cells that may contain nicotine. Yes, still craving cigarettes, carrying around a straw and sucking air through it. Off of work today and am going to get most of my garden planted, got lots of it done yesterday after work, lots to go still. I tried to stay up last night after the hockey game on TV. I kept going outside to look for the Northern Lights and finally gave up around 11:30. Turns out I should have waited until midnight. Luckily I lived in the Yukon for awhile, so got to see lots there.

Day 33-05/12 - 148.6 - Ended up getting a little sunburnt yesterday with all of my planting. I sure didn't mean for that to happen. I did want to get a base tan before Mexico. Going to a play this afternoon : - ) Still not smoking, but still wanting to lol.

Day 34-05/13 - 150.4 - Highest since 2019. Very low in calories yesterday, less than 1100, so not enjoying an almost 2 pound gain. Puffy everywhere. The play was super fun, it was a musical of "Legally Blonde". I had never seen the movie, but kind of looked up the key parts on Youtube first, so I sort of knew what was going on : - )

    Day 35-05/14 -

Week 5 Goal: stopping smoking week, so....146.0?
    Week 5 actual weight:

    started the 100 at 146.8

    Thoughts:

Last round I had my normal goal of a 12 pound loss which is approximately 4 lbs per month. That comes to about 90 days leaving the other 10 open for special holidays and social occasions. In theory, it’s a good plan. In practice it is a Mountain to Crawl up. However, each 100 day round I am extremely grateful for any progress I can make, no matter how big or small. I am also grateful for all the support from all of you that I get on a daily basis. Working on my health has become my #1 priority. My main goals are to maintain my remission by staying cancer free and to keep my diabetes in control. Losing weight is key to both goals.

The water should be lovely because of our beautiful blue skies today and the Mother’s Day Buffet will be delish. I expect the scale will go up tomorrow but I can handle it. I’m going to wear sandals that I can remove and walk along the water’s edge. I have a house full of fresh flowers thanks to the kids. I feel so grateful and appreciated! Happy Mother’s Day everyone!

Day 34-05/13-DNW-(Trend weight DNW) What a whirlwind weekend this has been with my birthday on Friday and Mother’s Day on Sunday and hardly a breath in-between. I’ll weigh in tomorrow or the next day when I feel it will be the most accurate. The Lake was beautiful yesterday and my DGS had such a good time making sand pies and chasing the seagulls. Dinner was too good and too much but its always nice to be celebrated.

@dawnbgethealthy When I lived downstate years ago in the suburbs of Detroit, my first hubby and I had season tickets for the Fisher Theater and the Fox Theater. Very fancy places where the big stars came. It was Wonderful to see so many fabulous plays. It is what I miss the most about being near the city. I have not seen a live play in 25 years although I have traveled for a few concerts and a few comedy shows in closer big cities. It's neat to hear that someone enjoys plays as much as I do!

Hi Folks! My name's Darin, and I'm an almost-45 year old woman from Holly Springs, North Carolina, USA. I've done a past 100 days challenge before and did really well with it (then regained the weight) so wanted to rejoin and try again.
    Starting weight: 176.7
    Day 01-04/10—176.7
    Day 02-04/11—176
    Day 03-04/12—175.2
Day 04-04/13—174.6 Went to get a mani/pedi today which was lovely. Made a terrific seared salmon for dinner with baked potato and am stopping eating right now! No more eating. That’s it. or drinking. Let’s see how it goes.
Day 05-04/14—174.3 Succeeded with the no more eating last night. Also succeeded at moderation at an all-you-can eat buffet today (a ton of fresh vegetables and some fruit as well). Thus far the making good decisions is going well. But I think this downward trend is going to stop soon – I’ve lost all the water weight I’m going to lose. So now the work starts for real.
Day 06-04/15—173.9 Work kicked my butt today. Thankfully Josh and I walked this morning so don’t have to try to exercise right now. Just have to try not to stress-eat the entire fridge and pantry…
Day 07-04/16—174.2 Slight uptick but still met my goal weight so there’s that. Tough migraine day – had to take part of the day off from work today for bed rest. UGH.

    Week 1 Goal: 174.7
    Week 1 actual weight:174.2

Day 08-04/17—175.2 another partial day at work today due to migraine, and I’m retaining water. Blergh. Between the two not feeling great. At least got out and walked, and I meditated today. That’s something.
Day 09-04/18—175.2 migraine’s eased up and have stabilized with the weight. Now hopefully start to see a downward trend? Meditated again and was very moderate with lunch and breakfast. Will try to maintain for dinner.
    Day 10-04/19—175.2
Day 11-04/20—174.7 I’m trying to be kind to myself with having felt so bad this week. I did have a ”woke myself up laughing” moment that I’m sure you’ll appreciate… I dreamt that I had gone into the office and was looking at a menu to pick out lunch. You know you’re counting calories IRL when your pick’s a clam chowder bread bowl with a bloomin’ onion topper!
Day 12-04/21—173.9 went to a cheeseburger party yesterday and did well with moderation (just one burger, limited sides, didn’t go bananas when in front of the potato chips although could have. Then came home and didn’t continue eating because I wasn’t hungry. Victory!
Day 13-04/22—174.4 another rough migraine day today.
Day 14-04/23—174.7 Just going to have to get myself together for next week.

    Week 2 Goal: 173.7
    Week 2 actual weight: 174.7

Day 15-04/24—176.1 Okay, so I blacked out and when I came to, I had eaten a full meal from Arby’s. in itself it wasn’t too bad calorie-wise, but sodium-wise it was devastating. Going out to play trivia at a local tavern and will get a moderate bowl – but still regretting last night.
    Day 16-04/25—174.7 Better today.
    Day 17-04/26—174.8
Day 18-04/27—174.1 Tasty dinner tonight – grilled chicken and roasted veggies. Mmm.
    Day 19-04/28—174.1
    Day 20-04/29—173.2
    Day 21-04/30—174.2

    Week 3 Goal: 171.7
    Week 3 actual weight:174.2

Day 22-05/01—173.8 Last night went out to Texas Roadhouse and had a semi-decadent dinner (ate bread and a full-fat side Caesar salad, but had the grilled chicken as a main). Going to try to be better today.
    Day 23-05/02—173.0
Day 24-05/03—172.6 So doing a better job of limiting calories at the end of the night. It’s really hard but it’s working thus far. Weekend ahead will be a real test though. Snacking is a problem. A real, real problem. Let’s see… What is my work? my work is not eating when i'm not hungry. Can that be a thing? a double negative? it's really my failing - i eat because things taste good. kind of the WORST reason to eat!
Day 25-05/04—171.8 At heart I’m a glutton, which is why I’m the size I am. I’ll be sitting around, and all of a sudden, I’ll think – “You know what’d be great right now? Buttered popcorn”. Or in the grocery store, passing the deli section, thinking “I know those wings taste pretty good; maybe grab a few for the drive home.” Even though wings are definitely not on my shopping list. It’s an ongoing struggle. Trying to find healthy things that also taste good – or stopping eating at a reasonable point – is a real challenge!
    Day 26-05/05—172.5
    Day 27-05/06—171.6
Day 28-05/07—172.4 Long day today and frustrating wobbling around this weight. Hopefully next week helps see me shake it off. Have plans to go out for Mexican food for dinner so going to try to rein it in and be controlled – no chips/salsa, moderate main, no alcohol. That’s the plan, let’s see how it goes! I’ll report back in tomorrow. 😊

    Week 4 Goal: 172.7
    Week 4 actual weight: 172.4
Day 29-05/08—172.4 Okay, mixed success at the Mexican restaurant yesterday. Did do some grazing on chips and salsa but had a fairly responsible main (grilled chicken/chipotle sauce, black beans). It was a ton of sodium, though, which is why I think the scale did what it did.
Day 30-05/09—172.4 And hit a plateau. Got to try to get off this level but it will be hard with a couple nice meals ahead with my mom and my mother-in-law this weekend. Have to stay focused and not just go bonkers on carbs!
Day 31-05/10—172.7 Damnit. When I wanted to move off the plateau I didn’t mean in this direction.
Day 32-05/11—172.5 Happy Mother’s Day! I’ll be happy if I come out of this weekend without having gained weight – with two big meals with the two families… it’s a lot of eating!
Day 33-05/12—172.3 Okay, no weight gain. I’ll take it.
    Day 34-05/13--
    Day 35-05/14--

    Week 5 Goal: 170.7

My goal is to be proud of my weight loss.

Day 01 80.1 kg, I did my planned exercise but I overate a little bit (I'm tracking my intake), since I started tracking I've eaten out 4 times and I need to compensate for those times. I read "most people who lose weight will regain it within 5 years", I checked my old numbers and I'm 3.5 kg under what I weighed 5 years ago. I guess I'm in that category. I talked to my partner about my weight loss (something I'm trying to do less often).
Day 02 80.0 kg, I ate below my ideal which should help me recover from previous overeating. I did my exercise sessions.
Day 03 80.1 kg my eating is on track for the last 3 days but I need to recover from the previous 9 which averaged too high. I exercised and that's on track too. Disappointed that the scale is headed in the wrong direction but...
Day 04 79.4 kg a big loss today. I did a lot of walking, I had sugary food for the first time in 8 days. I overate. Recently there have been 6 days when I overate a lot, I had sugary food 5 times. Coincidence?
Day 05 79.8 kg just a normal day where I am good, no overeating and exercising is as required
Day 06 80.4 kg I started two personal challenges, I had some sugary food because I won't be having sugary food for a while, so on Tuesday I gained...
Day 07 80.6 kg my eating and exercise went well, still need to recover from the overeating episodes, maybe in 2-3 days that will happen
Day 08 80.4 kg I had some treats and food I don't usually have, that's a negative, on the plus side I'm still exercising as I intended
Day 09 80.3 kg I have a cold so I only managed half my exercise today, that's fine, eating was good.
Day 10 80.2 kg another day when I ate properly, two days in a row, plus two exercise sessions.
Day 11 79.7 kg a good day in terms of exercise and eating
Day 12 78.7 kg I don't see a 1 kg loss very often, anyway I overate again, although my exercise was as planned
Day 13 79.3 kg Another good day, exercise and diet were good. I've decided to attempt to lose 10 kg in 100 days - so this will move over to the next round. Starting tomorrow.
Day 14 79.4 kg I ran the numbers to see whether I could lose 10 kg in 100 days and it seems iffy, however I'm not particularly hungry as I lose weight, so I guess I should just eat less. I overate and did my required amount of exercise. I looked at my intake graph and since day 1 there's been 7 days when I've overeaten.
Day 15 79.7 kg I ate a bit too much and my exercise was less than required. 10 kg in 100 days: 10.3 kg to lose in 99 days. Can I do it? Probably.
Day 16 79.6 kg I ate too much but my exercise was alright. I've decided to delay the 10 kg in 100 days idea until my weight loss 'settles down'
Day 17 79.5 kg ate too much and didn't exercise at my desired level
Day 18 80.4 kg whoa how did that happen? Maybe eating too much?
Day 19 79.7 kg ate too much, exercise average is okay
    Day 20 79.9 kg
Day 21 80.0 kg I'm now starting the lose 10 kg in 100 days challenge. Can I do it? Probably.
Day 22 80.6 kg moderate gain but I'm not too concerned. 10.6 kg in 99 days? Probably.
Day 23 80.4 kg, things are looking good in terms of eating. 10.4 kg in 98 days? Probably.
Day 24 80.0 kg, I'm eating too much, 0.1 kg lost in 23 days. Anyway, 10.0 kg in 97 days? Probably.
Day 25 80.1 kg, eating seems to be under control right now, 30 day weight average has dropped for 3 days in a row (personal best 118 days), 10.1 kg in 96 days? Probably
Day 26 80.0 kg, eating under control 2 days, 10.0 kg in 95 days? Probably.
Day 27 79.6 kg, 9.6 kg in 94 days? Probably
Day 28 79.2 kg, 9.2 kg in 93 days? Graph says yes
Day 29 79.5 kg, 9.5 kg in 92 days? Graph says yes
Day 30 78.9 kg, I have food poisoning of some sort, I've lost my appetite and so my weight is dropping, when I start eating properly again I expect to gain a bit. Anyway, 10 kg in 100 days challenge looks good right now
Day 31 78.1 kg, another major loss, this is going to ruin my 10 day average since it will increase when I recover, I want to beat my personal best of about 20 days of continuous losing
    Day 32 77.7 kg
Day 33 77.5 kg, I've decided to pause the lose 10 kg in 100 days challenge, there are digestive problems and there's a heatwave where I'm living so I'm just not up to exercise right now
    Day 34 77.2 kg
    Day 35 77.4 kg

Day 29-05/08-- 63 kg. I just realised this Challenge ends on 17th July, which is my son's birthday.(41! Where have the years gone!) We usually go to our favorite Indian restaurant. For the last 2 years, every time we go, I have stuck to just a main and a small amount of rice, but if I can stay at current weight till then, I will have a treat! What will it be? Not sweets, as I've lost my taste for sugar - maybe some cheesy naan? We'll see.

Day 30-05/09-- 62.9 kg. Until now I've been wearing the old smaller size clothes in my closet which have been hanging patiently waiting for me to lose weight. Sure they're out of fashion, but who cares at my age for being all trendy (Though if I wait long enough, they'll be all stylish again, right? Vintage, even! Then I can sell 'em for megabucks!) Today I went to drop off some of the too-large-now-and-wrong-season stuff at a thrift store, and looked around for a few smaller size winter items while I was there. (First frost on the ground this morning) Now back when I was a busy new young mom I was a perfect old style size 14 -36/27/37)
So I saw a nice woolen cardigan which had a label with 14 on it. Tried it on and Oh My! I was positively swimming in it. Talk about vanity sizing! Tried on another with M -still too big. Tried on another with the label cut out - this one was okay. But what size am I?
Seems in future I have to ignore the label sizes and just try on everything to see if it fits - that, or take a tape measure.

    Day 31-05/10-- 62.5 kg.

    Day 32-05/11-- DNW

    Day 33-05/12-- 62.4 kg.

    Day 34-05/13-- 63 kg.

Day 35-05/14-- 63 kg. I am feeling very wired and nerves on edge. With winter coming on I am spending more time indoors, and my caffeine addiction is taking control again. I have to stop keeping it in the house.

    Week 5 Goal: 62.75 kg.
Week 5 actual weight: 63 kg.

@dawnbgethealthy: all good info in your post, only thing they don't tell you is how good it feels when you really lose the addiction- it's like getting let out of school early on a spring day...

Totally cool to give yourself permission to smoke again when you get home- and then, maybe, postpone starting for just a day, or even a couple hours just to see how long you can do it.

Keep at it- you're doing great- and finding a place to "vent" is really important!

    What wonderful photos!
    And gorgeous gams my friend!

I think of you every time I see Michigan on House Hunters HGTV.
The other day they weren't too terribly far from Traverse City, Grand Rapids. Michigan is soooo beautiful.

Really glad that you got over to Lake Huron to double celebrate your birthday and Mother's Day.
Is your DGS your tiny daughter's child?

I’m 5;1”, 77, from B.C., Canada. I’ve been struggling with a slow backslide. April 1st saw 177.2 ☹ Use WW to track food points but also just acquired Noom’s workbook in hopes of altering many behaviours.

Week 5: Revised my Goal: to lose 5 lbs as 30 to 40 is just too daunting. Whille just focus on 5 at a time.

Wed 8th: 174.4 Quiet day at home. Body’s feeling very stiff and achey.

Thurs 9th: 174.8 Paddled for an hr; tried to mimic arm movements similar to front stroke in hopes of easing stiffness across my back. Beautiful sunny day 😊

Fri 10th: 174.2 90 minute pretty intense paddle; really worked my arms and obliques etc. Nice to feel energized again. Son phoned at 11pm “Northern Lights are going crazy” so spent the next hour watching the light show. Unfortunately I only have my older phone for a camera so no pictures but many are being shared.

Sat 11th: 176 Wt isn’t unexpected as this’s the way of my body following a workout. Busy day ahead which ends with a BBQ at my brother’s.

Sun 12th: 176.2 Mother’s Day BBQ is in the past. Time to pack up and move off this plateau.

    Mon 13th: 175

Tues 14th: 176.2 No comment other than "deserved".

    Week 5 Goal: 172.?
    Week 5 actual weight: 176.2

I PVRd a movie and watched it over a few evenings.
"Funny Face" with Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire.

I had seen "Breakfast at Tiffany's" many years ago, but had never see this movie (I seldom watch movies).

Anyway, it made me think of the conversation on here about clothing sizes.

Audrey Hepburn was 5'7" with a 20" waist and never went over 110 pounds. She was a size 10.
    Double 00 in today's sizing?

@dawnbgethealthy It's a British thing Im sure it happens elsewhere through. A pub or an inn or a bar? We have some beautiful old pubs (also some really dire ones!) and people like to go for a drink or dinner and sit in gardens, beautiful in summer, not so good in winter 😂 Plus Ive been a sober sally for 5 years now. Both of my little cal pubs are from the 14th century with landscaped gardens. We also have awful ones that we say are spit and sawdust (Disgusting) that people just go in to get drunk. I think our drinking culture is calming down a little?!

We do patios here. I would love to find a place that is in an actual garden!

Thank you, it has consumed my life, I hadn't expected the effect to the brain! Hoping that one of these days I will wake up feeling "normal". One of my friends quit 15 years ago, but he says that he still wants a cigarette all day every day. Yikes.
Thanks for your props and patience when I have been going through this crazy.

Btw, you are at such a great weight.
I sat at 130 for quite some time trying to get into the 120s. I have gone the other way and have put on 20 pounds. And I am going to an all-inclusive next week where I normally put on 7lbs. All good, going to enjoy the Mexican food and Margeritas : - )

    How tall are you?

    Hi!
    I am Dawn.

Day 35-05/14 - 149.6 - Another day of less than 1100 calories. My body is still holding on tight to everything. Really sick of my guts feeling like this. Quitting/stopping smoking is really *kitten* with my body.

Week 5 Goal: stopping smoking week as of May 7
    Week 5 actual weight: 149.6

    Day 36-05/15 -

    Day 37-05/16 -

    Day 38-05/17 -

    Day 39-05/18 -

    Day 40-05/19 -

    Day 41-05/20 -

    Day 42-05/21 -

    Week 6 Goal:
    Week 6 actual weight:

    started the 100 at 146.8

@dawnbegethealthy Yes, Owen belongs to the tiny daughter. I also have 3 from the college graduate older daughter, two in high school and one going to 2nd grade in the fall. My (step) son Matt has two beauties. The boy will be going to Kindergarten in the fall and the little girl Aria is my only granddaughter. So six grandchildren altogether.

@dawnbgethealthy After a period of time (and the time frame may or may not be different for everyone), the smoking will mostly stink to you. Especially on people's clothing. However, every now and then someone will light up a fresh cigarette and it smells very good. I could easily smoke it, but I also don't have to anymore. At the beginning it was like something I LOVED, (lets say donuts) and if I was around it I absolutely CRAVED and NEEDED one. So hard to walk away from such a desire. But over time it became something I LIKED (lets say beets). I could see them, smell them and be near them but easily walk away and not feel like I needed any. No craving, no insatiable desire for those beets. Just something I see that I like, that's all. It's truly like seeing the boiled eggs on the salad bar, liking them but deciding not to put them on your salad today. It becomes that easy. Hang in there, my friend. Mexico will be so much less complicated without them. Who knows, you may even decide to keep it up when you get home since the worst of it will definitely be behind you. You are doing FANTASTIC!

Day 35-05/14-186.4-(Trend weight 185.6) Well, there’s the uptick from all the celebrations. One of my goals when I started this journey a few years ago was to feel comfortable wearing white pants without looking like the side of a house. I did that on Mother's Day and feel pretty good about it! I've been gaining lately instead of losing and am up almost 10 pounds from just a couple of months ago. Time to turn this train around before I have to pack the white pants into the "too fat" bin. I know I can do it!

WEEK 5 LOSS OR GAIN: 1.2 lb Gain

Day 34-05/13—173.4 There’s the weight gain. Was waiting for that. I did eat quite a bit this weekend. And a lot of sodium for dinner last night. This week is going to be a rough one. Going to have to adjust all my goals…

    Day 36 77.6 kg
