    Hi!
    I am Dawn. 63, 5'2"
I have been at this tracking for quite awhile, on this particular thread for 15 out of the 19 iterations of it.
I lost quite a bit (got to 130), but have been slowly gaining weight over the past 2 years despite my efforts.
Highest weight was 207. Began on this thread at 198 pounds

Week 1 Goal: 145.6 - My start weight from the last 100. Plunking this in each week until I hit it.
Week 1 actual weight: 147.2 - started the week at 146.8

Week 2 Goal: 145.6 - My start weight from the last 100. Plunking this in each week until I hit it and then go from there.
Week 2 actual weight: 146.2 - Started the week at 148.0 - Hit my goal once

Week 3 Goal: 145.6 - My start weight from the last 100. Plunking this in each week until I hit it and then go from there. Hit it one time during week 2. Hit below it this week
    Week 3 actual weight: 146.4

Week 4 Goal: 145.6. My start weight from the last 100. Plunking this in each week until I hit it and then go from there.
    Week 4 actual weight: 147.6

Day 29-05/08 - 149.8 - Well, pretty much ate non-stop to try to replace cigarettes. Giving myself some grace as I go through this. Ate pretty healthy stuff (cucumbers were on sale for 47cents and hummus on sale also), and chewed lots of sugar free gum. I was basically immobilized the entire day. Bad shape. Cravings are ridiculous this morning as I write this. I normally have at least 5 cigarettes in the mornings. Body is not eliminating anything yet, I think that it is in shock lol

    Day 30-05/09 -

    Day 31-05/10 -

    Day 32-05/11 -

    Day 33-05/12 -

    Day 34-05/13 -

    Day 35-05/14 -

Week 5 Goal: 145.6. My start weight from the last 100. Plunking this in each week until I hit it and then go from there.
    Week 5 actual weight:

    started the 100 at 146.8

    Um....
Stopping smoking so that I am not "jones-ing" during my upcoming trip.
Mexico changed everything in 2023, no smoking on the beach, street, parks, cafes, resorts etc.

This process is horrible, but I would rather go through it now than enroute or while there.

I am a sweaty crazy mess right now, but I got through an entire day. I had to do it on a day off.
I feel like if I can get through 3 days that it will become easier.
My plan was never to stop forever, just to get it out of my system before travel.
    We'll see.

@dawnbgethealthy I smoked 2 1/2 packs a day for 35 years. I finally quit in 2007 with the help of the medication Chantix. I call it a miracle prescription drug. I had tried a million times over the years to lay them down and walk away and never had any lasting success. Chantix did it for me and without very much difficulty at all. Truly a miracle drug. I did definitely experience the side effect of nightmares (and they were bad) but I knew it was temporary so I persisted and got through them. The lung craving/breathing deep craving was COMPLETELY GONE. For the hand to mouth habit I simply made fake cigarettes with cut straws leaving the paper on them as it felt like cigarette paper. I would tape it on the end to hold it on the straw after cutting and color the end of the tape red with marker so it looked "lit" out of the corner of my eye. I kept an ashtray everywhere around the house (where I eat, where I watch TV, my favorite sitting area) and also a beanie ashtray in my car with a cigarette lit in each one and ready for me to pick up. I never had to actually bring it to my mouth or puff as the lung craving was not there, but I had to see it out of the corner of my eye in my hand as I handled the steering wheel in the car or talked on the phone in the house. I also kept a few of the "cigarettes" in my purse for emergencies. It did help a lot with that side of the habit. I don't think you have time for all that before your trip as its coming up fast, but if you ever decide to fully quit in the future, I hope this helps. It turned me into a non-smoker which NO ONE would ever have believed was possible for me. I can't even imagine the money I've saved! BTW I hope you will post plenty of pics from your vacay!

My Name is Donna, Age 63. I am 5’5” tall & I live in Northern Michigan USA
Starting Weight from End of Last Challenge: : 182.2
    Goal This Round: 170.2
    Challenge Actual Ending Weight: xxxxx

    Previous Rounds[/tomato] Tally & Thoughts:

This shows the ending weights of each round:

    Round #16---188.0
    Round #17---183.8
    Round #18---182.2

    Thoughts:

Last round I had my normal goal of a 12 pound loss which is approximately 4 lbs per month. That comes to about 90 days leaving the other 10 open for special holidays and social occasions. In theory, it’s a good plan. In practice it is a Mountain to Crawl up. However, each 100 day round I am extremely grateful for any progress I can make, no matter how big or small. I am also grateful for all the support from all of you that I get on a daily basis. Working on my health has become my #1 priority. My main goals are to maintain my remission by staying cancer free and to keep my diabetes in control. Losing weight is key to both goals.

    Day 27-05/06-185.2-(Trend weight 183.4)

Day 28-05/07-185.2-(Trend weight 183.8) I don’t know why the scale is stalled, yesterday was a good day. Diet on point and I fit in a little more exercise/activity than usual. We’ll see in the coming days if it’s being stubborn and holding tantrums or if I’ve actually hit a plateau. Yesterday I held my head in shame and changed my ticker back to my current weight (increase) and I changed my colorful scratch off back to reflect that I have NOT left the 180's behind. I was disgusted to have to do that but I do need to stand in my truth and if I don't like it, I need to do something about it! Thanks to everyone for the compliment on the pictures I posted. As you can see, I hold most of my weight through my middle. I started this journey looking honestly about 8 ½ months pregnant and now I am down to about 5 months pregnant. I wish we could tell our bodies exactly where to lose our weight but it doesn’t work that way, sadly. So I will keep plugging away at this proverbial diabetic belly and keep in mind that it is overall fitness and strength I am after anyway and with that, the weight will work itself out. Anyway, thanks for all the compliments on my family. I think my kids are pretty great too!

WEEK 4 LOSS OR GAIN: 0.4 Lost
    Week 4 Ending Weight: 185.2
Accumulated Loss or Gain: 3.0 lb Gain

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

Day 29-5/08-184.8-(Trend weight 184.4) I got into my 6 year old grandsons snacks last night AFTER closing out MFP. Normally the little fruit snack gummy style packets don’t even tempt me as I am a chocolate fanatic and also crave cakes and donuts (especially). However, these sugar cravings have been horrid. Gosh, I really thought I loved my grandson more than I loved gummies!

I’m 5’1” (probably 5’2” if I remember to stand really straight) and in my mid 70’s.
There isn’t much in the way of fitness classes and no rec centre where we live now so I began working as a server at an Assisted Living facility. I’ve been struggling with a slow backslide. April 1st saw 177.2 ☹

Week 5: Revised my Goal: to lose 5 lbs as 30 to 40 is just too daunting. Whille just focus on 5 at a time.

    Wed 8th: 174.4

Hi Folks! My name's Darin, and I'm an almost-45 year old woman from Holly Springs, North Carolina, USA. I've done a past 100 days challenge before and did really well with it (then regained the weight) so wanted to rejoin and try again.
    Starting weight: 176.7
    Day 01-04/10—176.7
    Day 02-04/11—176
    Day 03-04/12—175.2
Day 04-04/13—174.6 Went to get a mani/pedi today which was lovely. Made a terrific seared salmon for dinner with baked potato and am stopping eating right now! No more eating. That’s it. or drinking. Let’s see how it goes.
Day 05-04/14—174.3 Succeeded with the no more eating last night. Also succeeded at moderation at an all-you-can eat buffet today (a ton of fresh vegetables and some fruit as well). Thus far the making good decisions is going well. But I think this downward trend is going to stop soon – I’ve lost all the water weight I’m going to lose. So now the work starts for real.
Day 06-04/15—173.9 Work kicked my butt today. Thankfully Josh and I walked this morning so don’t have to try to exercise right now. Just have to try not to stress-eat the entire fridge and pantry…
Day 07-04/16—174.2 Slight uptick but still met my goal weight so there’s that. Tough migraine day – had to take part of the day off from work today for bed rest. UGH.

    Week 1 Goal: 174.7
    Week 1 actual weight:174.2

Day 08-04/17—175.2 another partial day at work today due to migraine, and I’m retaining water. Blergh. Between the two not feeling great. At least got out and walked, and I meditated today. That’s something.
Day 09-04/18—175.2 migraine’s eased up and have stabilized with the weight. Now hopefully start to see a downward trend? Meditated again and was very moderate with lunch and breakfast. Will try to maintain for dinner.
    Day 10-04/19—175.2
Day 11-04/20—174.7 I’m trying to be kind to myself with having felt so bad this week. I did have a ”woke myself up laughing” moment that I’m sure you’ll appreciate… I dreamt that I had gone into the office and was looking at a menu to pick out lunch. You know you’re counting calories IRL when your pick’s a clam chowder bread bowl with a bloomin’ onion topper!
Day 12-04/21—173.9 went to a cheeseburger party yesterday and did well with moderation (just one burger, limited sides, didn’t go bananas when in front of the potato chips although could have. Then came home and didn’t continue eating because I wasn’t hungry. Victory!
Day 13-04/22—174.4 another rough migraine day today.
Day 14-04/23—174.7 Just going to have to get myself together for next week.

    Week 2 Goal: 173.7
    Week 2 actual weight: 174.7

Day 15-04/24—176.1 Okay, so I blacked out and when I came to, I had eaten a full meal from Arby’s. in itself it wasn’t too bad calorie-wise, but sodium-wise it was devastating. Going out to play trivia at a local tavern and will get a moderate bowl – but still regretting last night.
    Day 16-04/25—174.7 Better today.
    Day 17-04/26—174.8
Day 18-04/27—174.1 Tasty dinner tonight – grilled chicken and roasted veggies. Mmm.
    Day 19-04/28—174.1
    Day 20-04/29—173.2
    Day 21-04/30—174.2

    Week 3 Goal: 171.7
    Week 3 actual weight:174.2

Day 22-05/01—173.8 Last night went out to Texas Roadhouse and had a semi-decadent dinner (ate bread and a full-fat side Caesar salad, but had the grilled chicken as a main). Going to try to be better today.
    Day 23-05/02—173.0
Day 24-05/03—172.6 So doing a better job of limiting calories at the end of the night. It’s really hard but it’s working thus far. Weekend ahead will be a real test though. Snacking is a problem. A real, real problem. Let’s see… What is my work? my work is not eating when i'm not hungry. Can that be a thing? a double negative? it's really my failing - i eat because things taste good. kind of the WORST reason to eat!
Day 25-05/04—171.8 At heart I’m a glutton, which is why I’m the size I am. I’ll be sitting around, and all of a sudden, I’ll think – “You know what’d be great right now? Buttered popcorn”. Or in the grocery store, passing the deli section, thinking “I know those wings taste pretty good; maybe grab a few for the drive home.” Even though wings are definitely not on my shopping list. It’s an ongoing struggle. Trying to find healthy things that also taste good – or stopping eating at a reasonable point – is a real challenge!
    Day 26-05/05—172.5
    Day 27-05/06—171.6
Day 28-05/07—172.4 Long day today and frustrating wobbling around this weight. Hopefully next week helps see me shake it off. Have plans to go out for Mexican food for dinner so going to try to rein it in and be controlled – no chips/salsa, moderate main, no alcohol. That’s the plan, let’s see how it goes! I’ll report back in tomorrow. 😊

    Week 4 Goal: 172.7
    Week 4 actual weight: 172.4
Day 29-05/08—172.4 Okay, mixed success at the Mexican restaurant yesterday. Did do some grazing on chips and salsa but had a fairly responsible main (grilled chicken/chipotle sauce, black beans). It was a ton of sodium, though, which is why I think the scale did what it did.

My goal is to be proud of my weight loss.

Day 01 80.1 kg, I did my planned exercise but I overate a little bit (I'm tracking my intake), since I started tracking I've eaten out 4 times and I need to compensate for those times. I read "most people who lose weight will regain it within 5 years", I checked my old numbers and I'm 3.5 kg under what I weighed 5 years ago. I guess I'm in that category. I talked to my partner about my weight loss (something I'm trying to do less often).
Day 02 80.0 kg, I ate below my ideal which should help me recover from previous overeating. I did my exercise sessions.
Day 03 80.1 kg my eating is on track for the last 3 days but I need to recover from the previous 9 which averaged too high. I exercised and that's on track too. Disappointed that the scale is headed in the wrong direction but...
Day 04 79.4 kg a big loss today. I did a lot of walking, I had sugary food for the first time in 8 days. I overate. Recently there have been 6 days when I overate a lot, I had sugary food 5 times. Coincidence?
Day 05 79.8 kg just a normal day where I am good, no overeating and exercising is as required
Day 06 80.4 kg I started two personal challenges, I had some sugary food because I won't be having sugary food for a while, so on Tuesday I gained...
Day 07 80.6 kg my eating and exercise went well, still need to recover from the overeating episodes, maybe in 2-3 days that will happen
Day 08 80.4 kg I had some treats and food I don't usually have, that's a negative, on the plus side I'm still exercising as I intended
Day 09 80.3 kg I have a cold so I only managed half my exercise today, that's fine, eating was good.
Day 10 80.2 kg another day when I ate properly, two days in a row, plus two exercise sessions.
Day 11 79.7 kg a good day in terms of exercise and eating
Day 12 78.7 kg I don't see a 1 kg loss very often, anyway I overate again, although my exercise was as planned
Day 13 79.3 kg Another good day, exercise and diet were good. I've decided to attempt to lose 10 kg in 100 days - so this will move over to the next round. Starting tomorrow.
Day 14 79.4 kg I ran the numbers to see whether I could lose 10 kg in 100 days and it seems iffy, however I'm not particularly hungry as I lose weight, so I guess I should just eat less. I overate and did my required amount of exercise. I looked at my intake graph and since day 1 there's been 7 days when I've overeaten.
Day 15 79.7 kg I ate a bit too much and my exercise was less than required. 10 kg in 100 days: 10.3 kg to lose in 99 days. Can I do it? Probably.
Day 16 79.6 kg I ate too much but my exercise was alright. I've decided to delay the 10 kg in 100 days idea until my weight loss 'settles down'
Day 17 79.5 kg ate too much and didn't exercise at my desired level
Day 18 80.4 kg whoa how did that happen? Maybe eating too much?
Day 19 79.7 kg ate too much, exercise average is okay
    Day 20 79.9 kg
Day 21 80.0 kg I'm now starting the lose 10 kg in 100 days challenge. Can I do it? Probably.
Day 22 80.6 kg moderate gain but I'm not too concerned. 10.6 kg in 99 days? Probably.
Day 23 80.4 kg, things are looking good in terms of eating. 10.4 kg in 98 days? Probably.
Day 24 80.0 kg, I'm eating too much, 0.1 kg lost in 23 days. Anyway, 10.0 kg in 97 days? Probably.
Day 25 80.1 kg, eating seems to be under control right now, 30 day weight average has dropped for 3 days in a row (personal best 118 days), 10.1 kg in 96 days? Probably
Day 26 80.0 kg, eating under control 2 days, 10.0 kg in 95 days? Probably.
Day 27 79.6 kg, 9.6 kg in 94 days? Probably
Day 28 79.2 kg, 9.2 kg in 93 days? Graph says yes
Day 29 79.5 kg, 9.5 kg in 92 days? Graph says yes
Day 30 78.9 kg, I have food poisoning of some sort, I've lost my appetite and so my weight is dropping, when I start eating properly again I expect to gain a bit. Anyway, 10 kg in 100 days challenge looks good right now

Day 29-05/08-- 63 kg. I just realised this Challenge ends on 17th July, which is my son's birthday.(41! Where have the years gone!) We usually go to our favorite Indian restaurant. For the last 2 years, every time we go, I have stuck to just a main and a small amount of rice, but if I can stay at current weight till then, I will have a treat! What will it be? Not sweets, as I've lost my taste for sugar - maybe some cheesy naan? We'll see.

Day 30-05/09-- 62.9 kg. Until now I've been wearing the old smaller size clothes in my closet which have been hanging patiently waiting for me to lose weight. Sure they're out of fashion, but who cares at my age for being all trendy (Though if I wait long enough, they'll be all stylish again, right? Vintage, even! Then I can sell 'em for megabucks!) Today I went to drop off some of the too-large-now-and-wrong-season stuff at a thrift store, and looked around for a few smaller size winter items while I was there. (First frost on the ground this morning) Now back when I was a busy new young mom I was a perfect old style size 14 -36/27/37)
So I saw a nice woolen cardigan which had a label with 14 on it. Tried it on and Oh My! I was positively swimming in it. Talk about vanity sizing! Tried on another with M -still too big. Tried on another with the label cut out - this one was okay. But what size am I?
Seems in future I have to ignore the label sizes and just try on everything to see if it fits - that, or take a tape measure.

@dawnbgethealthy Quitting smoking was the hardest- and best- thing I ever did. I couldn’t imagine not missing it, but it’s many years now and I haven’t looked back. I joined something called “Quitnet”, which was a little like “MFP” for smokers and it helped enormously- not sure if it’s still out there, but it might help you too. Good luck to you, it’s tough but worth it!

@tinathescreamer if it’s first frost where you are, I am guessing you’re “down under”? I’m seeing cherry blossoms on this side of the world and finally putting the cardigans away!

Thanks for the props and ideas on the stop smoking front.

Day 3 has begun, apparently this is the day when the nicotine leaves the body, and is possibly the toughest?
Having less cravings would be good.

Yes, I have watched like 100 youtube videos about it, mostly to take my attention away from cravings.
    Yesterday afternoon I almost caved.

I do still have cigarettes in the house. This was suggested on many fronts. It removes a tiny tiny bit of panic, not concentrating on going out to get cigarettes lol.

In the old old days people smoked on planes, buses, trains etc.
In the less old days there were smoking rooms in every airport.

I went the Chantix/Champix route for preparation when I had a very long flight booked years ago. I became, I think, psychotic, so that drug did not work for me.

The last time that I was in Mexico (fall of 2022) I had a smoking room at my hotel. As mentioned, Mexico has changed a great deal. I don't want to be running around looking for a possible place in which to light up.

Cravings are supposed to last 3-5 minutes. I have been craving the entire time that I am typing this. Apparently still crazy this morning. 🤪

    Hi!
    I am Dawn.

Day 30-05/09 - 149.4 - From the videos that I watched, lack of elimination is normal when stopping smoking, body is trying to hold onto all of the nicotine in the cells? My belly has blown up like a giant balloon over the last couple of days.

    Day 31-05/10 -

    Day 32-05/11 -

    Day 33-05/12 -

    Day 34-05/13 -

    Day 35-05/14 -

Week 5 Goal: 145.6. My start weight from the last 100. Plunking this in each week until I hit it and then go from there.
    Week 5 actual weight:

    started the 100 at 146.8

Day 30-05/09-184.4-(Trend weight 185.0) It’s coming down much slower than it went on, but they say that is the healthy way to do it. I’m just not very famous for being patient!

Day 30-05/09—172.4 And hit a plateau. Got to try to get off this level but it will be hard with a couple nice meals ahead with my mom and my mother-in-law this weekend. Have to stay focused and not just go bonkers on carbs!
    Day 31-05/10--
    Day 32-05/11--
    Day 33-05/12--
    Day 34-05/13--
    Day 35-05/14--

    Week 5 Goal: 170.7

Anyway, 10 kg in 100 days challenge looks good right now
Day 31 78.1 kg, another major loss, this is going to ruin my 10 day average since it will increase when I recover, I want to beat my personal best of about 20 days of continuous losing

Was a rough week with my dog going on his 🌈 voyage (thank you to those who replied to that already) plus 4 nights on the road for work. Took my scale to keep me from totally going off the edge. I have two weeks at home and I can get back on track!

@judefit1 Very down down under - bottom of the South Island of New Zealand. Only a few islands between us and Antartica. Bracing for those icy gales to come roaring up over 2,000 miles of sea....
...but so beautifully warm in summer.

@dawnbgethealthy My mother liked to tell the story about my dad quitting smoking. Like most men of his generation he learned to smoke in the army in WW2 and was up to 30 a day when he returned to civilian life. In the early 50s, after marrying, he, mom, and my newborn older sister were living in a tiny damp basement and mom and the baby got bronchitis. The doctor told dad, "Do you realise your smoking is making your wife and daughter's illness worse?"
Dad said, "I will never smoke again," and quit immediately. He never touched tobacco again and became one of those fanatical ex-smokers, urging all his friends and family to quit as well.
I always like that story, 1) because, instead of, as you always hear, doing it yourself, he did it for sake of those he loved. 2) It was before the lung cancer/smoking studies were done, when all the doctors were supposedly telling their patients to smoke "for their nerves." It shows at least one doctor knew otherwise from his own experience and observations. I have since learned that quite a lot of doctors already thought smoking was bad and through discussion in medical journals, it was decided to keep statistics and make studies. A lot of the "doctors promote smoking" was actually advertising propaganda by tobacco companies.
BTW, Dad became so repelled by the smell of cigarette smoke, in the end he couldn't bear to be anywhere near "that disgusting stench." At his funeral, an old Army pal he persuaded to quit, said that never happened to him. 40 years later, his first thought on waking, and whenever he smelled tobacco, was "I want a smoke." So experiences differ.
    Best of luck to you.

    Day 31-05/10-- 62.5 kg.

@tinathescreamer : Love that we can be in a group together from opposite sides of the world, both "vertically" and "horizontally"! I live just outside NYC, where I grew up. We're in the best of spring right now, but cold and rainy at the moment. Can't wait for warm, sunny days...

Day 31-05/10-DNW-(Trend weight DNW) My 64th birthday! My 64th birthday! This is also my no weigh Friday. Only 4 hours between the time I went to bed and the time I woke up which would really affect the scale. My kids have informed me that they have chipped in on a new Fitbit Charge 6 for my gift. However, there is a delay in delivery so I should have it by next week. I’m excited about having an updated version! Yesterday meals were on point and my exercise increased. I’m still struggling to put down the coffee and drink more actual water.

    Hi!
    I am Dawn.

Day 30-05/09 - 149.4 - From the videos that I watched, lack of elimination is normal when stopping smoking, body is trying to hold onto all of the nicotine in the cells? My belly has blown up like a giant balloon over the last couple of days.

Day 31-05/10 - 149.8 - 3rd day of lots of salad, lots of cucumber and hummus. Perhaps my body is holding on to stuff. Entering into day 4 of stopping smoking, so hopefully all of that salad and stuff will come out soon!
Not sure if I still want a 🚬now because of nicotine addiction (which is supposed to be out of the body after day 3?) or just the mental and physical puffing addiction of it. Oh well, 🚭, so hoping that this will soon get easier.

    Day 32-05/11 -

    Day 33-05/12 -

    Day 34-05/13 -

    Day 35-05/14 -

Week 5 Goal: 145.6. My start weight from the last 100. Plunking this in each week until I hit it and then go from there. stopping smoking week, going to amend my expectations
    Week 5 actual weight:

    started the 100 at 146.8
