Rained most of the day yesterday with intermittent really heavy showers. I need to get out for a walk today.7 -
@fmfdfa2020 my husband is wild with the salt shaker as well. He doesn’t necessarily love salt on your level but he uses a lot and it goes EVERYWHERE. He uses a salt shaker like a dramatic cartoon would use a salt shaker.
His argument is “it is proven that salt seasons more evenly from higher up”
Let’s just say I choose my battles!!!6 -

5/30 178.6 Thank you all for the well wishes. I pushed through yesterday and I feel like I’m on the upswing this morning. It will be a struggle as my sinuses/face is very painful swollen and I have to be off meds to prep for colonoscopy on Friday.
It is also market night so a busy day for me. I am a firm believer in fake it til you make it!!! So I’m just gonna go out into the world and give it my all. Starting tomorrow I’ll have 24hrs of pretty much hanging out in my bathroom so I can think of that as rest time🤣10 -

5/26 127.8 Weight is up this morning. Went out to dinner last night. Chose the taco salad which is probably high in sodium, and more calories than I thought..lol!
5/27 127.8
5/28 129.2 Way too much salty food and alcohol yesterday.
5/29 128.2 Well that's an improvement, still not back to my starting weight yet. It's raining here today so I plan to finish hanging pictures in my newly painted bedroom. We did a full remodel on our master bath and bedroom this winter and I still haven't finished putting everything back in order. Just been too busy..lol!

Goals for this round:
1. Drink at least 90 oz of water a day
2. Close my rings
3. Log my food
5/26 219.6 I’m not expecting a 2lb drop to hold, but considering I gained weight at the start of the last round, I’ll take this even if it is just for a day.
5/27 218.2 went most of the day without eating any protein and found myself getting hungry faster. Fortunately we were out most of the day, so snacking wasn’t an option. While I enjoyed what I ate, I definitely understand the benefits of higher protein!
5/28 221.0 given how much I ate yesterday, I’m surprised this isn’t higher. The day started really well and ended not so great as I found myself feeling hungry a lot and rather than finding something to do or drinking water, I ate. I’ll be back on track today and hopefully see this drop back down quickly.

I never really hit my water goal. Try harder maybe?
DGS had a big day yesterday. His first base hit (coach pitch) in youth baseball. It’s been a long time coming. 😊 Then right to a birthday party in the park with his friends. He’s big stuff now. Seven years old and leaving first grade in the dust.
Did those potato chips really need to be polished off last night. Glorious salt and oil. Need to do better this round.
5/27: 219.2
/logged; exercised; 74 oz water/
This drop really can’t be explained. Other than that my body is a water balloon.
DW and I broke out the bikes yesterday. We need to be somewhat ready for our mountain get-away with friends in July. She has an e-bike which will help her keep up with us on the sloped bike trails. I’m jealous, but happy for her. Naturally, I have a sore butt this morning. I will use that to remind me to do something active today.
Tossing a chicken on the smoker today some time.
5/28: 221.6
/logged; exercised; 70 oz water/
Had a good active day yesterday. Although for some reason MFP did not pick up on it. Chicken turned out good. Played cards at friend’s in the evening. Although I stayed on budget, the drinks and salty snacks were the wrong kind of calories.

A little short on thoughts this morning…
Part of my entertainment yesterday was watching the neighbor behind get a new roof. There were 15 people up there doing the tear off. Looked like an ant hill. They started by 7:30 am and were all finished by 7:00 pm, including new gutters. Nobody was tied off. I had the cell phone ready to call 911. I didn’t use the binoculars except to check if one of the workers was drinking a beer or a Pepsi. It was Pepsi.
Just call me Mr. Kravitz. (anyone get the reference?)

👇🏻Review since my first R231
1. ✅Avg. close to 10k steps per day for 8+ mos. Not bad. It’s no longer a “daily goal” because it’s now a daily healthy habit - 👏🏻🤩
2. ✅Healthy Habit: 🙆♀️ I stretch daily and that has greatly improved my attitude & confidence.
3. ✅HH: I play 🎾about 4-5x per week.
4. ✅HH: Z2 💕avg 60 min/day
5. ✅HH: zero to 10g of net carbs/ day
6. ✅🥩MAD 110-130g Protein (Mostly Animal Diet-CLEAN)
7. ✅HH Naturally IF 18/6. Eating window=noon to 6PM.
8. ✅💦80oz daily
9. ✅Alcohol limited to rare occasions.
Tremendous progress since last July, but still “skinny-fat”. I want 🏋️♀️to become a healthy habit too. … 🏋️♀️20 min per day or 30 min 4x per week. I need to continue to journal📝 and to strive to ID unhelpful habits & replace with helpful ones.
Staying in the present moment is key to mental health and healthy choices.
In my dreams, I want to be 130lbs with a HARD body… 😎 But let’s face it, this could be unattainable and/or unsustainable, but I’ll give it my best … It’s a 🥕! I don’t know how long it will take. Also, rotating 110g to 130g of protein per day is now a non-negotiable.
Let’s do R261 !!🙌🏻

DGS spent the day & night. I felt yucky all day. Still puffy. I’m going to stick with same plan/ routine as the R260 with #HSF (Healthy Strong Fit) identity/ habits … Definitely will accomplish more as groin is almost 💯 …. Remaining cautious.

Today: my DH cycling trip was cancelled due to the tornadoes in NW Arkansas. Such devastation… Will figure out the week with him, food prep, groceries & plan an active day/week. Glad he is home & safe.

5/29: very busy work week and will be going to see my DB this weekend; I mentioned that he is very sick, but not with what as he hadn't received confirmation. As of yesterday, it's confirmed that he has pancreatic cancer and, while treatable, he has both heart and lung issues that will make any aggressive treatment more damaging than positive. This last few weeks has been an adjustment and recognition of how precious time really is.
This brother is more than just family, he's been a best friend, mentor and safe haven since my adolescence. 12 years older than me, he took my rebellious teen self under his wing and, since then, has been the person to whom I went for comfort and counsel. He's been the "grandfather" my children didn't have, and his home has been our "family home." He never had children of his own, so me and mine are very much that. I am very sad, and sad for him..
The time coming up will be challenging to all of us. Our mission as a family is to make whatever time we have with him the best we can for him. My sadness is tinged with wonderful memories of the man he is, and the awesome life he's lived.
Quite honestly, my weight doesn't seem important right now, but having a place to say this is really, really good for me. Thank you all for giving me this space to put my feelings into words...

@UTMom81 - Love the pictures!!! We actually go out of Kodiak and sleep on and fish off of a boat. Last year, we saw so many different kinds of whales, right where we were fishing. We mainly fish for halibut but also get lingcod and rock fish. I wish you were going with me (I’m the only woman this year).
@_JeffreyD_ - My husband loves fishing, just not in the ocean; he gets so sea sick; you could not pay him to go on this trip. When we were first married (in the 90’s) he would send me salmon fishing out of Monterey, CA on a party boat. Often I would come home with (2) 30 lb. salmon….those were the good old days!
The main reason I go on this trip is because my 86 year old dad goes along with my cousin and they love it. It is something I can do with them. However, it is expensive and you have halibut coming out of your ears
@AR10at50 I am in the same boat with your husband. Give me a quiet lake any day. Hitting a couple lakes with my Brother-in-law tomorrow and Friday. He's coming from out of town. We always talked about this before I retired. Now we can do it. We will spend a lot of time together on "the Kraken."

@judefit1 I am sorry to hear about your brother. I just lost a good friend to that kind of cancer and about to lose another. Ditto what you said about precious time. Praying for peace and comfort for your family. I hate cancer.6

Goal: Calorie Cycle for a weekly average between 1200 - 1500. Eat more vegetables and fruit. Drink 80oz water each day. Walk. Start building strength back using light weights.
5/26 - 178.0 - Up a little today.
5/27 - 178.8 - This is most likely salt and not enough water.
5/28 - 178.4 - I'm a salt freak. My husband even told me one day, can you just tap the salt instead of wildly shaking it and adding so much, not to mention it's all over everything. So, I started tapping - huh, it does help to use less and no more mess. LOL. He literally only eats added salt on boiled eggs. That's it. And the only process food he eats, which does have salt, is tortilla chips. My mom, too, I couldn't believe she could eat a potato without salt For me, it's partly habit, too. I even eat it on watermelon, oranges, apples, in oatmeal - I really can't think of anything I don't add salt to except sweets. My husband and mom have shown me it can be done. So, I try again today. I'm starting with putting 1 tsp of salt in a baggie and only using it for the day. I'll reduce this down over the next weeks. I also probably need to buy unsalted butter. One thing at a time - I don't want to go too far out on a limb LOL. I need to experiment with spices more and use lemon. I think I would have done better over the years if I had high blood pressure, but my blood pressure is very low, but that doesn't mean it couldn't jump up as I'm aging. I look very forward to seeing what changes I see due to less salt.
(editing to say I knocked on wood after the high blood pressure comment. I know many people (my mom did, too) struggle with this and I'm very lucky, but it doesn't mean that luck will continue if I don't change my habits!)
5/29 177.4 - I kept my salt intake to 1 1/4 tsp salt. I'm happy with that! Will keep it at 1tsp today, and I only drank 40oz of water. I'll get 80oz today.
@Skyleen75 - Thanks for your comments about your husband's salt habits. Very funny. I hope you feel better. Going from your headcold to a colonoscopy - yike! If you don't mind me asking - What is "market" night? Re: "It is also market night so a busy day for me. I am a firm believer in fake it til you make it!!!"
Editing with this that I just read:
Extra sodium causes you to lose more calcium in your urine. Sodium and calcium share the same transport in the kidney so if you eat high sodium foods it will increase calcium leakage in the urine. Therefore, a high sodium diet can increase your chances for developing another stone.
I have had many kidney stones (and analyzed as a calcium). My bad habits are catching up with me since I'm getting older, and I can tell it is just harder to recover. It's never too late to change!!

5/27 169.5 This number isn't as bad as I expected. I did do a lot of walking while we were at the beach but there was also alcohol, pizza and junk food involved. While vacation at the beach is always amazing, I'm glad to be back and to get on a routine.
5/28 167.3 😄 Great day yesterday. I did have pasta last night so I didn't expect the bigger drop, but I also peed allll day.
5/29 167.5 Ate a bag of microwave popcorn with extra salt last night watching a movie with the kids. Should have skipped the popcorn but oh well. We are supposed to take the boat out to the lake and go fishing this afternoon. Hubby worked last night and came home this morning not feeling well, so we shall see what he feels like when he wakes up.

Charissa, thank you! Although my food choices weren't that great when I was away, I really didn't eat a whole lot. I drank alcohol every day (several drinks). I chose the zero sugar, 100 calorie smirnoffs as my drink so at about 3 or 4/day, I only had at the most 400 calories/day with those, and no sugar. My MIL made mixed drinks as well and I had 1 of her drinks for 2 of the days 😆.
You also did well with not logging last round, and all the birthday celebrations! Sounds like you have a good plan set to get back on track too. Hope your week is going well!5 -

5/27-177-Had a busy week getting ready for DS’s graduation party at our house. Now just putting things away and getting rid of food that we don’t normally eat. It was nice to have family and friends along with nice weather.
Going fishing in Alaska in July and want to get rid of 15 lbs. by then. I honestly am serious THIS TIME! I promise!!!
5/28-176-Well, that is a start. Did a lot of yard work and played a lot of ping pong and sweat like crazy.
5/29-176-The neighbor lady gave me a loaf of Portuguese SweetBread for fixing her drip. Of course I came home and ate two pieces, which I shouldn’t have. Ugh! I am not eating anymore of it.5 -

I'm seriously getting frustrated! Didn't snack last night but did have a second helping of dinner. I guess that did me in. I feel like in my mind, "seconds" don't do much damage, but I need to remember that I'm literally adding a whole additional meal when I do that. Sigh.

I felt a bit hungry at night, and then snacked a bit chaotically. So I was over my caloric intake goal.
This night hungriness has been happening repeatedly. I'll try to improve today.

Felt hunger again at night, but as promised I tried to handle it better. My strategy was to eat something filling and in a orderly way. I took two slices of blue cheese. It was so good and my hungry went away.

@_JeffreyD_ LOL Mr. Kravitz I would probably have done the same thing. When a friend had a hot tub installed several years ago, I drove over to watch the huge crane lift it from the flatbed, swing it over the house and deposit it in the backyard. Amazing!3

@fmfdfa2020 and @Skyleen75 This “conversation” about salt is interesting. I use salted butter on my popcorn and cooked vegetables and add salt at the table, I also usually salt my meat. Never salted watermelon or other fruit. My husband is the opposite he salts popcorn and watermelon and pretty much nothing else. He’s had kidney stones on several occasions, I never have. It’s interesting to me how different bodies react so differently. I often wonder if researchers look for commonalities in those who don’t fit the “norm.”2

May 22: I had packed some shorts to change into after swim without trying them on. They were so tight last summer, I expected the fit to be better ~ but when I put them on ... wow. I was in front of the locker room mirrors and was like omg, that's you. How long has it been since you looked/felt like that? I was spinning around looking at myself for a good 2-3 minutes, y'all, lol ~ my New #1NSV
May 4: 10 of the 20 inches lost was off my belly! No pics, no proof, lol ~ I love/hate taking photos because they've become one of my best tools. You can't lie and you can't hide. Putting myself on blast 1) creates incentive to increase effort and 2) highlights new areas to focus on. Still a long way from my ultimate goals, but its nice to see muscle memory is real! At a size 15, I haven't been this small in more than 10 years.
APRIL 1st SW: 198.2 | EW: 197.8
Goals: Lose 6-8bs, 2-3 inches and 1-2% body fat ❎❎❎
Lost less than a pound, 1.25 inches combined on arms and legs | regained 0.2% body fat and 1/2 inch back on my belly. Starting dietary 200-400 calorie deficit and Intermittent Fasting 18-24 hrs. Breaking fast differently, including more protein, and continuing to look for new ways to increase step count and add more strength in May.
January 1st - April 1st, I've lost 17 pounds and a total of 20.8 inches from 11 areas. 🥳 Thrilled to see my hard work reversing prediabetes and years of physical damage. Getting leaner and stronger and chair dancing proud of myself about it!! 57 and hormonal, it's taken longer than expected and a much rougher road than my youth.
Reaching onederland (March 13th) meant the end of 10+ years and up to 80 pounds!! gained and relost too many times to count. Yo-yoing is the main reason for so much body fat!!! Determined not to continue to self-sabotage ... I need a new target!! If I should lose an additional 8% body fat to reach the "standard" for my age, height and sex ~ and up to 15% more to reach excellent ~ that's @ least another 8-15 months of work before I can begin to relax and think maintenance.7
