    I am Dawn. 63, 5'2"
    I have been at this tracking for quite awhile, on this particular thread for 15 out of the 19 iterations of it.
    I lost quite a bit (got to 130), but have been slowly gaining weight over the past 2 years despite my efforts.
    Highest weight was 207. Began on this thread at 198 pounds

    Day 57-06/04 - 151.0 - Not too bad for 2 weeks of indulging! Just spent a bunch of time catching up on everyone's posts. Still kind of tired today. Flights got so delayed that the following flights were missed and rescheduled. I was up at 5am on the first day of departure, and did not get home until 36 hours later with no sleep. I smoked at the resort btw as soon as I saw that there was an area for that. Glad that I had stopped for 2 weeks prior though, so I didn't have any trouble wanting to go out for a smoke during layovers on the way down there. Really great trip, of course completely broke now with no new paycheques in sight. I will work my little tail off this month to come up with my July 1st mortgage, bills, and looming July 4th property taxes.

    Day 58-06/05 - 151.6 - Weighed earlier than yesterday, otherwise it makes little sense that I had a gain. I was under in calories yesterday and very physically busy. I did have salad for dinner last night though, which for some reason always ups the scale for me. I will be eating salad every day now since I have so much growing in my garden. I use a tablespoon to measure dressing. I will "add calories" so that it lets me close the day. Not sure yet what I will eat today, working 2 jobs so I will for sure take something out of the freezer this morning.

    Day 59-06/06 - 149.4 - Well, that is better. Worked 2 jobs yesterday and then needed to get groceries and stuff afterward. So far I haven't had to go back to the Long Term Care job, but I do need to work lots in June to prepare for very heavy beginning of July bills (plus no earnings for 2 weeks while away). I think my new bar job is going to be fun, and I feel like my niche will be the after work crowd, so 4-8 shift with a 1 hour break between the 2 jobs to eat a little something, change and Zshuzh up. Kind of changing over my after work "dinner", I am having 4-5 water crackers with around 4 tablespoons of hummus to quiet hunger, then a bit of dinner. I started this before I went away, and am making sure to be stocked up on hummus at all times.

    Day 60-06/07 - 148.8 - ?? Okay, I'll take it. Normally I only gain weight. Is my body confused? No salad the last 2 days since I was pressed for time. Maybe that is weirdly the difference.

    Day 61-06/08 - 148.6 - When I was actually losing weight on my way down to 130 I was averaging a loss of .2 pounds per day. I don't want to get too excited, but I might somehow be losing weight after gaining for more than a year. My 3rd job has supplanted my 2nd job, and it is way less stressful, so there is that. Also, a nice top up from a fabulous vacation may have reset my stress levels. Today I don't work until 4pm, so I will be getting into the yard for most of the day. My legs haven't seen sun since Mexico since I have been working during sun hours. I did get a nice tan while away, so maybe I can maintain it. Completely off from all work tomorrow : - ) My neglected garden and yard are going to get some love.

    Day 62-06/09 - 149.4 - Later at work than scheduled to be, late night eating. Off today, going to keep it very light, and get some sun to keep my tan. 2 jobs tomorrow, so there will be no outdoors at all.

    Day 63-06/10 - 149.2 - My tracker said that if every day was like yesterday I would be 126.2 in 5 weeks. Lol, that would be great, but I have seen that 100 times : - ) When I was at 130 those numbers looked more like I would be 114 in 5 weeks. Honestly, at 5'2" I probably should be around 110 pounds, but I would be happy anywhere in the mid 120s for my sore ankle, feet, knees etc. I will just keep trying. Working 10:30-3:00 at one job and then 4-12 at the other today. I need to take some portable food with me.

    Day 64-06/11 - 149.2 - I only ended up with 10 1/2 hours yesterday instead of 12, but I still am not used to working later. I basically had 2 cocktails and chips for dinner.

    Thoughts:

    Last round I had my normal goal of a 12 pound loss which is approximately 4 lbs per month. That comes to about 90 days leaving the other 10 open for special holidays and social occasions. In theory, it’s a good plan. In practice it is a Mountain to Crawl up. However, each 100 day round I am extremely grateful for any progress I can make, no matter how big or small. I am also grateful for all the support from all of you that I get on a daily basis. Working on my health has become my #1 priority. My main goals are to maintain my remission by staying cancer free and to keep my diabetes in control. Losing weight is key to both goals.



    Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

We have one who graduated from Head Start to Kindergarten, one who graduated from Kindergarten to 1st grade and one going to 2nd grade. We celebrated it all at once with one cake and one gathering. The cake frosting was too sweet, I did remove about half of it. Today I have a special tradesman coming to use a “break” which puts the white metal around my bay window and my bow window. Otherwise, no work is being done inside today. It should be a good day for my pre-logged diet. I also plan on pulling a lot of weeds today as it’s getting out of hand. The lawn guy will be here to mow later this evening. I’m feeling a little lazy right now. Hopefully the coffee will kick in. Tomorrow I travel to the cardiologist pretty early so I will be posting and reading your entries late.

    Day 63-06/11-DNW-(Trend weight DNW) Cardiologist appt went well but I do have to have another nuclear stress test done due to some mild but very regular chest pains. They will check for more possible blockages needing more stents. I had breakfast after the appointment out-of-town choosing breakfast foods which would lend itself to less carbs overall and more moderate calories. However, we still can’t control what is in a the recipes when it’s restaurant food so I am still on high alert tonight and tomorrow at the very least. I skipped lunch and dinner will be later this evening here at home. No more appointments or social engagements until Saturday. I need the upcoming 3 days in a row to get things stabilized.

    @dawnbgethealthy I've been having needle-ing pains again like I did in 2022. Also now some radiating pains. Nothing serious enough for me to call 911 but when I had the emergency room visit for my foot they were concerned that I flunked the EKG's again. So.... I will be getting a stress test again in July when they have an opening. Because of my diabetic feet and the fact that I cannot feel them sometimes, I have to do the nuclear test instead of the treadmill test. They will shoot some sort of solution into an IV which will mimic the effect of actively exercising on the spot and see how my blood flows (and my oxygen levels go). It's weird and uncomfortable but nothing I haven't done before. Since it has been almost 2 years since the last test and the stent placement (August 1st, 2022), she said it is time for another look anyway. All in stride, but I must say that the pains do make me very nervous when it comes to exercising. Lately I have been doing more exercise bike, stretching or yard work and a lot less aerobic or dance which tends to bring the hands up to heart level (much more exerting). Once you've had a heart attack like me and had to have arteries in your heart stented open too, the whole exercise thing is a little scary. It's a fine line for sure. It's important because your heart is also a muscle, but over-exertion is dangerous. Oh, the woes of aging!

    Day 04-04/13—174.6 Went to get a mani/pedi today which was lovely. Made a terrific seared salmon for dinner with baked potato and am stopping eating right now! No more eating. That’s it. or drinking. Let’s see how it goes.
    Day 05-04/14—174.3 Succeeded with the no more eating last night. Also succeeded at moderation at an all-you-can eat buffet today (a ton of fresh vegetables and some fruit as well). Thus far the making good decisions is going well. But I think this downward trend is going to stop soon – I’ve lost all the water weight I’m going to lose. So now the work starts for real.
    Day 06-04/15—173.9 Work kicked my butt today. Thankfully Josh and I walked this morning so don’t have to try to exercise right now. Just have to try not to stress-eat the entire fridge and pantry…

You know you’re counting calories IRL when your pick’s a clam chowder bread bowl with a bloomin’ onion topper!
    Day 12-04/21—173.9 went to a cheeseburger party yesterday and did well with moderation (just one burger, limited sides, didn’t go bananas when in front of the potato chips although could have. Then came home and didn’t continue eating because I wasn’t hungry. Victory!

    Day 24-05/03—172.6 So doing a better job of limiting calories at the end of the night. It’s really hard but it’s working thus far. Weekend ahead will be a real test though. Snacking is a problem. A real, real problem. Let’s see… What is my work? my work is not eating when i'm not hungry. Can that be a thing? a double negative? it's really my failing - i eat because things taste good. kind of the WORST reason to eat!
    Day 25-05/04—171.8 At heart I’m a glutton, which is why I’m the size I am. I’ll be sitting around, and all of a sudden, I’ll think – “You know what’d be great right now? Buttered popcorn”. Or in the grocery store, passing the deli section, thinking “I know those wings taste pretty good; maybe grab a few for the drive home.” Even though wings are definitely not on my shopping list. It’s an ongoing struggle. Trying to find healthy things that also taste good – or stopping eating at a reasonable point – is a real challenge!

    Day 29-05/08—172.4 Okay, mixed success at the Mexican restaurant yesterday. Did do some grazing on chips and salsa but had a fairly responsible main (grilled chicken/chipotle sauce, black beans). It was a ton of sodium, though, which is why I think the scale did what it did.
    Day 30-05/09—172.4 And hit a plateau. Got to try to get off this level but it will be hard with a couple nice meals ahead with my mom and my mother-in-law this weekend. Have to stay focused and not just go bonkers on carbs!

While I’ve been super productive, it’s been a bit on the sedentary side. Josh and I have a vacation coming up – we’re going to Reno. We’re going to spend our days out in nature, hiking, and our nights at the casinos. I’m really looking forward to it. Is it weird to pack a scale to bring on vacation? I mean I’ll have space in my checked luggage. But maybe a few days of “DNW” won’t hurt me either. I’ll have to mull this one over. My goal is to not gain weight during the vacation. I’m under no illusions – I am not going to lose any. But not gaining would be nice, given the drinking and decadent food options there will (presumably) be.
    Day 41-05/20—170.9 okay was a tad irresponsible last night with the pizza dinner but at least kept servings reasonable. So there was that? It’s also my birthday week so there’s going to be more eating out and lots of temptation. Wish me luck!     I lost quite a bit (got to 130), but have been slowly gaining weight over the past 2 years despite my efforts.

    Thoughts:

    Last round I had my normal goal of a 12 pound loss which is approximately 4 lbs per month. That comes to about 90 days leaving the other 10 open for special holidays and social occasions. In theory, it’s a good plan. In practice it is a Mountain to Crawl up. However, each 100 day round I am extremely grateful for any progress I can make, no matter how big or small. I am also grateful for all the support from all of you that I get on a daily basis. Working on my health has become my #1 priority. My main goals are to maintain my remission by staying cancer free and to keep my diabetes in control. Losing weight is key to both goals.



    Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

    Day 63-06/11-DNW-(Trend weight DNW) Cardiologist appt went well but I do have to have another nuclear stress test done due to some mild but very regular chest pains. They will check for more possible blockages needing more stents. I had breakfast after the appointment out-of-town choosing breakfast foods which would lend itself to less carbs overall and more moderate calories. However, we still can’t control what is in the recipes when it’s restaurant food so I am still on high alert tonight and tomorrow at the very least. I skipped lunch and dinner will be later this evening here at home. No more appointments or social engagements until Saturday. I need the upcoming 3 days in a row to get things stabilized.

    Day 04-04/13—174.6 Went to get a mani/pedi today which was lovely. Made a terrific seared salmon for dinner with baked potato and am stopping eating right now! No more eating. That’s it. or drinking. Let’s see how it goes.
    Day 05-04/14—174.3 Succeeded with the no more eating last night. Also succeeded at moderation at an all-you-can eat buffet today (a ton of fresh vegetables and some fruit as well). Thus far the making good decisions is going well. But I think this downward trend is going to stop soon – I’ve lost all the water weight I’m going to lose. So now the work starts for real.
    Day 06-04/15—173.9 Work kicked my butt today. Thankfully Josh and I walked this morning so don’t have to try to exercise right now. Just have to try not to stress-eat the entire fridge and pantry…

I did have a ”woke myself up laughing” moment that I’m sure you’ll appreciate… I dreamt that I had gone into the office and was looking at a menu to pick out lunch. You know you’re counting calories IRL when your pick’s a clam chowder bread bowl with a bloomin’ onion topper!
    Day 12-04/21—173.9 went to a cheeseburger party yesterday and did well with moderation (just one burger, limited sides, didn’t go bananas when in front of the potato chips although could have. Then came home and didn’t continue eating because I wasn’t hungry. Victory!

    Day 24-05/03—172.6 So doing a better job of limiting calories at the end of the night. It’s really hard but it’s working thus far. Weekend ahead will be a real test though. Snacking is a problem. A real, real problem. Let’s see… What is my work? my work is not eating when i'm not hungry. Can that be a thing? a double negative? it's really my failing - i eat because things taste good. kind of the WORST reason to eat!
    Day 25-05/04—171.8 At heart I’m a glutton, which is why I’m the size I am. I’ll be sitting around, and all of a sudden, I’ll think – “You know what’d be great right now? Buttered popcorn”. Or in the grocery store, passing the deli section, thinking “I know those wings taste pretty good; maybe grab a few for the drive home.” Even though wings are definitely not on my shopping list. It’s an ongoing struggle. Trying to find healthy things that also taste good – or stopping eating at a reasonable point – is a real challenge!

    Day 29-05/08—172.4 Okay, mixed success at the Mexican restaurant yesterday. Did do some grazing on chips and salsa but had a fairly responsible main (grilled chicken/chipotle sauce, black beans). It was a ton of sodium, though, which is why I think the scale did what it did.
    Day 30-05/09—172.4 And hit a plateau. Got to try to get off this level but it will be hard with a couple nice meals ahead with my mom and my mother-in-law this weekend. Have to stay focused and not just go bonkers on carbs!

    Day 37-05/16—171.0 yesterday had a horrible migraine. The nausea was so bad that I got super dehydrated and barely ate anything. So I think this dip is completely artificial. Still feel awful today. Bleh.

    Day 40-05/19—170.7 Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I’ve been doing some work, so lots of computer time (just like during the week). While I’ve been super productive, it’s been a bit on the sedentary side. Josh and I have a vacation coming up – we’re going to Reno. We’re going to spend our days out in nature, hiking, and our nights at the casinos. I’m really looking forward to it. Is it weird to pack a scale to bring on vacation? I mean I’ll have space in my checked luggage. But maybe a few days of “DNW” won’t hurt me either. I’ll have to mull this one over. My goal is to not gain weight during the vacation. I’m under no illusions – I am not going to lose any. But not gaining would be nice, given the drinking and decadent food options there will (presumably) be.

It’s also my birthday week so there’s going to be more eating out and lots of temptation. Wish me luck! And I'm definitely going to consider taking the scale on vacation. it may help to "keep me honest". :-)

    Day 46—05/25—167.9 Start of my vacation! We don’t leave until Tuesday, so plenty of time to pack and prepare. And rest! It’s nice to have time to relax around the house.

    Day 48—05/27—167.5 Okay, I decided I’m not packing my scale for the vacation as that’d be more stressful than relaxing (plus my scale is very heavy). So I’ve got a few DNW days coming up. My plan is to enjoy myself moderately – not go crazy overboard but not be too restrictive either. We’re going to be getting some exercise while birding, and if we don’t get enough, we’ll continue our daily walks. Reno’s supposed to have some great parks and a nice riverfront. I’m really looking forward to the change in environment.
