Worked then went to Food Lion (had to drive since I was buying Gatorade). Bought Gatorade for Vince and a few other things. I had a coupon for $5 off $25 so I used it.
Kylia – how’s the CPAP working? What kind did you get. Does yours go thru the cellular network or bluetooth? Mine is bluetooth but as soon as I can get the CPAP replaced, I want to get one that uses the cellular network
Monique– unfortunately, too many companies are trying to cut costs (fewer laborers) and rather than having someone come fix something, they “walk you thru it”
Lisa – if I lost something important, I would want someone to return it to me. Do unto others…..
Rita – have you taken lessons in food porn from Rebecca????? Everything looks so yummy
Blueyedgrl – welcome and congratulations!
Susan – welcome. Looking forward to getting to know you, also
I can’t believe tomorrow ALREADY barbie will be posting a new link. Where is time flying to???
Just came in from the pool. Will get ready for church in a bit.
Allie – woohoo on that great weight loss!!!
Ordered 3 pair of shorts from JCPenney, their system didn’t give me the discount. Picked them up yesterday, and today I called and got the refund. I do need to take back one pair of shorts. But if I order them again, I get socked with $4 in shipping to the store. I’ll just take them back for that amount of money
Looked into buying shorts at another store. Do you know that to ship ONE pair of shorts to the store it would be $10? That’s ridiculous
Went to the birthday celebration. Had a grilled chicken panini and instead of the fries I got a side of broccoli. They gave me chips but I brought them home for Vince to have. Only water to drink but they did have birthday cake. Oh well….
Had to say the prayers in church tonight. I am proud of myself, I didn't lose it while I was on the altar. I just won't talk about what happened when I came off the altar.

Heather - I guess I knew John did all of that, it was your deli shopping I was thinking of maybe.
I like how you word that “take the mental load off” I don’t have that, one of the reasons is because I’m so incredibly fussy. It’s strange I never even ask Rodger to stop and grab something on his way home. I need to ask more, but I hate asking so just do myself.
My paternal grandmother moved out of her own place when I was 12, that whole summer I helped her pack and move. I found her steamer and thought it was a beautiful basket, but couldn’t understand what to store in it. I had that thing for years and never once used it for its intended purpose. 😂
Lisa - we have been having rain every couple of days here, it’s been a help with the fires this year we really needed it. The long range forecast says we’re supposed to have a hot summer though.
I understand the aversion to sweat, I don’t like be sweaty at all.
Machka - that’s a beautiful chair. I need to get back to moving things around and doing things for my weight and strength.
Allie - maybe they could lessen the amount of butter for you next time.
Barbie - it’s nice to have a visit with family.
Kim - I feel like I’ve had a vacation when I go to my daughter’s house. For me just getting away from the city noise and into her quiet makes me breathe easier.
I watched the Celine Dion documentary today, then watched Three Mothers, Two Babies and a Scandal. I put shows on while I’m working on my scrapbook.
I am a little frustrated that Amazon and other streaming services now have commercials. I know I can pay extra to have no ads, but I’m not willing to do that.
I am taking care of my neighbours pets for her until Wednesday or Thursday. She has two small geriatric dogs, a geriatric cat, 100 shrimp and some snails in one tank and a gecko in another. I’m just going over 4 times a day, the dogs don’t like being outside so just do their business and come back in.

Tracey - It's funny how we get linked into roles and routines. If I want John to buy something that I usually buy, I have to tell him exactly where it is. He really has no idea.
He isn't like me, he just wants to get in and out. I love the little chats and social interaction in the little independent shops. He does talk to Naj in the deli, but he's not always there. I am so, so grateful that we persevered in looking for a house in this area. Our local shops are a huge asset to our lives. It makes it a village.
When I lived in London, we had a very similar thing. I really value it.
The produce is mostly artisan and organic. We also have a real butcher, hairdressers, a foot specialist, and a couple of popular cafés with outside tables.
John goes to the local mini supermarket, which is fine, but anonymous. It suits him. He did say the woman serving in the Chinese shop was 'very nice'.
John is off to cricket today. Unfortunately, that means he will miss the England game, but he can listen to it on the radio in the car coming home. I will record it for him, in the unlikely event it's worth watching.
I bought him a new, cheap, Panama hat from Amazon, for cricket, which arrived yesterday, as his old one is very sweat stained. Unfortunately, it came in the wrong coloured hat band, and he found it too heavy, so I'm sending it back. He says he will go to Mad Hatters to get a new, real, one. It will be good exercise for me to walk to the Post Office.
My jewellery box arrived and I have filled it up. I'm keeping the real gold separately, and I have a few beaded items I can't fit in, but I have emptied two more containers, and one ceramic box is going to the charity shop. Pleased with it. It's black, so blends in to the decor.
Looking forward to a day by myself. John has made me promise not to do anything stupid while he is gone. He is a bit worried. I will take a short walk, but nothing crazy. Probably Salade Niçoise tonight, with the focaccia he bought on Thursday. It has to be something able to be kept for his later arrival. I don't have French beans, but I do have mangetout.
Lunch will be my favourite curry laksa. Hooray! I kept back one of the cooked chicken thighs on Friday with that in mind. Will get a couple of king prawns out to defrost.
Happy days! My microbiome is dancing with all the fruit and veg we eat. Massive amounts.

Morning, my chicks,
Heather - It's so lovely to see you enjoying your life again at your usual pace, and out of pain! It colors our lives grey, especially when it is unrelenting. Your joie de vivre has returned, quite literally. Just wonderful.
Tracey - Funny, I'm reluctant to ask Corey to stop on the way home, but mostly because I know he's tired and ready to be home. When my illness was at its worst, he did all the grocery shopping, other than what I could have delivered. Yesterday, I sent him by himself, with just a few things on the list from me. Got over the guilt quite quickly! 😁🥰 I tend to have YouTube on while I'm working on the quilt - these days, it's the Clutterbug (love that Canadian accent) or one of the "everything you always wanted to know about..." one subject or the other. More for noise than anything, I think. When I'm doing housework, I've got my earpieces in and the music going on my phone to relieve the tedium.
Kim - Took me a second, because I read your "29 hours away" as being a 29-hour drive! 😃 Had to go back and re-read! I'm so pleased you got a break from your life. Anything that can give you that sense of pure escape is such a wonderful thing. Saw on the news y'all are hitting the hundred-degree mark this week - are all the fires died down? I know you'll be surprised to know they don't give a lot of California news in Arkansas... 😁🤯 😃
More in a second...

Hi Gals,
Heather – what is MDF under the carpet?
MDF is Medium-density fibreboard. It's pretty durable but I would be concerned about its condition after being under carpet in a bathroom for years and years.Rita and Margaret – awesome jobs on taking care of your health via diet and exercise instead of dependence first on medications. It is so great to hear that that can work with commitment, not that I do not believe in medications but it is great to hear of dietary steps that can make a difference too.
I took a play day yesterday, drove to a friends, hopped in her truck with was pre-loaded with her kayaks and went and kayaked at a reservoir near her. Had a picnic on the shore, and kayaked some more then went back to her house spent the night and home this morning. It was just 29 hours away but such a complete change in activity and scenery I feel like I took a week of vacation.
Thinking of you all,
Kim in N. California
I'm glad you got away for day.
I also am attempting to be healthy with minimal medication.

Back again...
Woke up late for me this morning, at 4:30. That was only because I forced myself to stay there when I woke up at 3:30! Not sure why that's my body's preferred time to shove my feet on the floor and get me moving...
Adventures in home maintenance and improvement:Yesterday's little adventure proved quite interesting, in the end. Corey asked me to come outside, more to call 911 if needed, I think, than anything. I'm utterly useless these days in the heat. But anyway, he was standing four feet up on a ladder, using a ten-feet long pruning chainsaw.
The branch was probably eight or nine inches in diameter, and when it fell, it twisted, and hit the ladder. He was quite safe, it hit on the other side of it, but I saw it jolt that step ladder, and could tell it was almost more weight than he could drag across the yard to the burn pit. Which means it was up in the hundreds of pounds. When he came back to where I was sitting, he said, "Yeah, call somebody who can cut down." Reality bites, bless him. 🥰
Put up a question on the local Facebook group yesterday for someone who was insured to come and give us a quote on taking that tree down. He was out here by 5:30 last night, and Corey was able to show him the tree, talk to him and tell him what he wanted. He'll be out Monday morning with equipment and a crew to take it down.
It's well worth $500 to keep my husband alive... and so proud of Cor that he realized it was best if someone younger, faster, and willing to climb trees did it, even if it's at a cost. Such a hard thing for men to give in to, especially one who's still strong and able.
Today is chores for me, relaxation and some cooking for him - getting those tomatoes roasted and cooked down for marinara, hopefully to even can a couple jars of it, if there's enough. The extent to which they cook down is kind of amazing.
Right now, while he's still asleep, I'll snag and wash all the bathroom rugs and sweep and mop that floor, get the laundry from yesterday folded and ready to put away, dishes put away and the dishwasher reloaded, and then see what other trouble I can get into! Probably work on the quilt if I get all the chores sorted.
Egg thinks I'm boring at the moment...

Good morning beautiful ladies!
Rita you are doing an excellent job with your diet! Way to go! Yay!
Allie, you too! You lost some significant weight there! And happy birthday!
Welcome Susan in NH and @Blueyedgyrl69 !
Dad and I walked 1.5 miles. My legs were tired out! I'm so sedentary these days. I've gained thirty pounds since last summer, when I was doing the bike and the dumbbells and eating my routine foods. My dad is a terrible influence on my eating. Too much cookies and ice cream! My clothes are getting really tight. Time to turn this around.
I will drive dad to church then he's going to a party. So I have time for a shower and I need to run his car. Maybe a nap too. I was up with Teddy for a big thunderstorm last night.
Have a great day! May you all be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Ah... posted something a little more politically incorrect than I wanted to leave up, so deleted. That's what I get for posting something my big brother sent me!3

More lifting and carrying and dragging (when the boxes are too heavy for me to lift). Lots of upper body work. I haven't logged it as exercise, but I suppose I could. Lots of walking back and forth. Lots of standing, reaching, bending.

Lisa- thats a riot..love it 🤣
Well I didn't sleep well and that's nothing new.hopefully I can catch a nap sometime today.

A highlight from the family visit. Daughter spent the day with us while husband and son went out for their own adventures. I got to talk to her about some things that were important about her being executor of our will and why we asked her to do it. Jake ordered delivery pizza for lunch (not on anyone's usual food plan, but delicious), and daughter offered to vacuum. The vacuum wasn't working right and while I was out with the dogs, she called her husband and not long after, he arrived with a new vacuum and said we couldn't say no to the gift. Then she finished vacuuming, swept or washed all the floors, and did a bunch of cleaning in the kitchen. They left by 5:00 to fix dinner at their Airbnb and left us in quiet. They'll be back today.
Annie, Today is a good day to get back to your healthy habits and take care of yourself,
Heather, Its great to hear the joy you are experiencing in being able to live your life without all that pain.
Kim Your getaway sounds like the perfect thing for you.
Tracey, I love to watch TV while working on a project.
Machka, I have enjoyed hearing about you house and all you are doing. It looks great.
Lisa, Many years ago while I was still working, I began waking up super early every day. I decided that it must happening so I could get things done and I began using the time to do stuff. I got more done and my attitude about the early wake up became joyous instead of grumpy.
Look for the new thread later today.

How nice!
And I bet your air quality is much better now, and that's important for good health.
I know that I'm having to take allergy pills every day these days while I pack and move things that haven't been moved in ages. Even so, I sneeze impressively and violently a few times a day.

Good morning, Beautiful Ladies!
I have been wanting to find an online community, and I think I have found one! Your posts have been so lovely to read... I can tell you really care about one another. That's such a beautiful thing in this day and age.
I live in West TN, and I am just restarting a journey to try to improve my health... I am recovering from a head injury and live with a chronic illness. I am working to accept my "new normal" and to work toward creating joy in my life again!
YOU all are simply wonderful. I look forward to getting to know you...
This is my third day on myfitnesspal this time around. My goal is to post all of my bites and to feel proud of that step toward healthier days ahead.
Wishing YOU all a lovely day ahead,

Hello to all; welcome to the new ladies! Remember to come back to this thread tonight to click on Barbie's link in her post, that will take us all into July! THEN, remember to bookmark July!
The weather has moderated a bit. It is in the 70s/80s, and I am inside and sleeping my way through the weekend with a summer cold. I hope I can shake it enough to take kids tomorrow. I don't mind the stuffiness and scratchy throat; but the sleepiness won't do with a houseful of kids!
