Teeth cleaning, and a trip to our city's farmers market today. Bringing a basket so I won't have to worry about bags.
I am so hungry I could eat a horse. Fasting times are healing times I tell myself
Have a great day friends!

Morning ladies
I have brought Doris to her Eye appointment and we will be going to lunch afterwards.
Chicken parm on the menu for me.. but will only eat 1/2 and bring the rest home.

I am ordering a Reuben sandwich today, along with some pickled veggies, and 1/3 of a Taylor farms salad kit, some clover sprouts, then my Atkins chai protein shake to end it.
My friend can't make it to doing the farmers market this afternoon, so husband is going with me. I am in search for fruits and the best tomato ever!

Welcome, Carla. I’m from Northeast Georgia, but my sister lives on the West Bank, right off the Huey P Long within walking distance of the river.

Didn't sleep well ..
Its hot and muggy today here. So we are staying in.
Rebecca- I was thinking of getting some of those chai latte protein shakes..but when I looked at the ingredients its alot of chemicals..
So Im still thinking about it.. I need to keep my protein up to at least 40 a day.
I don’t know if any of the prepared protein shakes are as ingredient friendly as making your own with a good quality powder, but the OWYN brand comes pretty close. The letters stand for only what you need. I’ve only tried the caramel and the vanilla, but both were delicious in iced coffee. I drank one by itself one day when I was in a hurry. It was ok, but not what i would call yummy. I will also add to my unsolicited review that it failed miserably when I tried to make a protein pudding. I usually use 2 tablespoons of sugar free pudding to a carton of protein drink, but it did not set up. I would probably need to use close to the whole box. Two tablespoons was perfect with the premier shake, but I’m not a fan of the premier ingredients. I don’t know why I care, though. The sugar-free pudding is junk as well, but it’s so good!

Woot!
Did it, did it, did it - the center section is done on Viv's quilt! Happy dance of joy in Arkansas, to the tune of "I'm all right! Don't nobody worry 'bout me!" Kenny Loggins. The rest is easy, more strips of the wood-grain gray oak around the whole center section to make up the flat top of a queen-sized bed, and then panels around the sides and bottom to cover the sides of a mattress and boxspring. What's there right now at left and right are the quilt on my bed showing through, it's the only place big enough to hold it without using the floor! Seriously the most complex quilt I have ever attempted. Hard part's over, now it's just the finishing... and the computer doesn't do the colors justice, they're all vivid.

Did I mention it was Kirby’s birthday yesterday? 69 never looked so good.

Wow Lisa that is amazing! What a massive amount of work. I love the little 'extras' you have included.
Happy Birthday Kirby!
We enjoyed our trip out to the fish restaurant, though the food wasn't as sensationally good as it usually is. My fish portion was smaller than usual, and the chips not as fresh. I still ate it all and enjoyed it. John ordered a mixed fish fried platter, but a couple of the things were clearly commercially prepared and not brilliant. It was brave of him to go off piste and try something new. I don't think he has ever had anything other than fish and chips there before. A glass of white house wine each.
Uber both ways. I'm beginning to avoid public transport for self isolation before my op.
We were home by 18.30, so it suited our digestion.

DS and I went to Toy Scout with transformers. We didn't get as much as we would have liked. Still nice to get rid of all the boxed that were taking ups room in upstairs bedroom. It was a learning process on how to sell to them if we or I decide to sell more toys like them to them. My son is better at negotiating at this sort of thing than I am.
The star of the show was not there. He was down in Texas and had one of his team work with us.
There is a show that goes of this same name.3 -
Went to drs appointment with Doris ,that was 2 + hrs and then out to lunch had to pick up another script still have the darn bladder infection..my GP has referred me to a Urologist. Like I need another Dr to see.sheesh

Sooo, life changes. Instead of a salad I managed a can of V8 juice, a Payday bar and a Fresca. No salad. Later will be my chai drink. Sometimes you just adapt to what your brain says. My brain saw the Payday bar and just said "I Want". I logged it, and it fit. Still made my peace sign, though my sodium was up,but I figured that with the Rueben sandwich.
Need to head out to the sun.

Lisa,That quilt is amazing. I just read an article about how problem solving is good for your health. Solving all the intricacies of that quilt should bring amazing benefits for you. Bravo.
Cooler weather here has allowed us to spend more time outdoors. Got up extra early this morning and walked for over two hours with Annie after breakfast.

Heather - you always inspire me and get me thinking.
I would love to take a trip to London or Edinburgh.
My Jonah started a Dungeons & Dragons club at his school. He and Max would get along well. Congratulations to him.
Here in AB there are publicly funded schools that are different than just the general. Lauryn chose to go to an all-girls school for Junior High and wore a uniform. Kaitlyn chose to go to a school that specialized in Canadian (read military type) Studies school for grade 7, she went to the general for grades 8-12. She also wore a uniform at that school. Both of the girls didn’t mind the uniform because they were in cadets anyway, but I think they were quite happy to be back to regular clothes.
How great that you took that watercolour on the cruise, it proved all those people earlier in your life completely wrong.
Barbara - I agree about the employment availability with pen and paper. It’s all about the money with companies though, the problem is all of these automated systems also affect the whole structure because there is less people paying taxes and more people needing assistance.
“Community Craft Cabin” I love it.
I hope you are able to find some redwoods soon. I want to go to a redwood forest. I went to the Ancient Forest in BC and would love to go again.
Lisa - My dear Rodger wakes up swinging too. No one in this family wakes anyone. 😂 Lauryn tells me Jonah has woke swinging too.
I love, love, love that quilt. How beautiful!
Barbie - there are friends for everything I think. I have a friend that I don’t like doing tasks with, she just seems to make everything so much more complicated than it should be. As a matter of fact she is in my driveway right now doing a task, I suggested she hire Jonah for it. He’s excited, because he is trying to get himself a PS5 and since he’s never done this type of work before he’s just following along how she wants it done.
I’m so glad your procedure is going so well.
Lanette - lovely photo of you and your sister.
I bet Elon is working on something like that. Someone sent me a video of a robot he is working on. It’s scary to me actually.
Pip - Happy birthday to Kirby. Are those pools Yogi goes in public for dogs?
I didn’t do much today, I puttered around and watched what everyone else was doing. 😂
I got the call for my interview, next Thursday at 10! She told me she was looking forward to it.
This was Jonah helping my friend.
Well not much else to say.
Have a great night!

Tracey - Oh yes, London! I am only an hour away on the train. We could visit each other.
I really don't want to go to my DEXA scan today. John says he'll drive me, but I think I'd prefer to go by Uber. I am not at all happy being driven by John, and he doesn't like driving me. I always sit in the back. Why they have these places so far out of the way, I don't know. I will wear a mask.

@grandmallie, I love the gray and the cut on you. It is weird, but it makes you look younger. I love it! How would they go about doing it?
@LisaInArkansas, you have many chores and are holding yourself accountable for them. I am working on my pantry and threw out many expired things. I swept back there. I went grocery shopping today. I tried to go swimming, but the pool guy flooded the pool, and there weren't enough chemicals. Now he is fired, and I guess the pool will be okay next week. I picked up Rose from day camp. I talked to Charles Schwaab, trying to understand how to handle the rest of my inheritance. By the time Rose and I got home, we were exhausted. I guess she had a "Little Mermaid party." I scrubbed two of the three bathrooms. (my son's I don't use) I feel there isn't enough time to do everything. I am working on time management all of the time. My husband is much better at it.7 -

Today’s gratitude: we have dishes and vegetables to wash, and bottled water to rinse them. The “other redwood tree” survived the tank’s move. Cistern is working as it should, holding water and apparently not cracked or leaking. New control box installed so water pumps automatically from cistern to storage tanks in the pump room. After we’ve used the water from the storage tank that hasn’t gone through the UV light, (a few days? A week?) we should be safe to drink the water.
Cry me a river:Water guy and his helper came, moved the tank to the side yard, removed one disconnected tank of unclear purpose and change the uv light. They did NOT hook up the new storage tank, but marked the area we need to level. He will bring his digging guy back to show him what needs to be dug, and trenched, then level with gravel. Next step plumbing, connecting the tank, adding a float valve in the cistern so the automatic pump stops if the water level in the cistern gets too low to avoid burning up the new pump. So I melted down afterwards shrieking at poor Joe, So what? He has family visiting next week so he comes back after the 18th with the digging guy? Then what? a week or a month til the digging guy trenches? Bet he doesn’t bring the gravel and has to make a second trip? Then another week before he comes back to plumb and connect the tank? Another week, month or year to remove the other unneeded tanks and strange plastic box/shelf that makes it impossible to clean the UV sleeve? I want to cry!!! Joe is taking this all calmly and encouraging me to put it out of my mind, do something that makes me happy, think positive thoughts so I dug weeds from around the apple tree and transplanted the daphne. This toxic anger is tainting my body. Maybe I just need a good cry to get it all out and then move on.Heather well done Max!!!
Annie thanks, I loved Rebecca’s reply too. Congrats on getting the DMV/paperwork accomplished.
Lanette from your mouth to Elon Musk’s ear! the pic.
Machka How does your new commute compare timewise with the former one?
Lisa sure looked like a snake to me!!! the quilt so many details to catch the eye.
Pip belated happy birthday Kirby! And keep those Yogi pool pics coming!
Tracey had to google the Ancient Forest in BC park. Wow those western red cedars are huge, almost like sequoias! Sadly the park is closed due to wildfire danger :’{
Was going to start Zumba tomorrow at 9:30 but changing my mind. If Joe is amenable, will work with him in the side yard. Compost pile needs to be moved and since I haven’t been properly turning/working it, it’s going to be nasty. Then cleanup for chiropractor and shopping wars. ;}

Barbara - What a saga! I feel your frustration.
I had the pre-op phone chat just now, but obviously she didn't have to go through everything. She quoted a number for my height that I was surprised about. (They measured me last time) I might get them to do it again, as I am two inches taller than I thought. Can't be right. I would be delighted if it were true!
The weight was as expected.
I won't have to have an ECG this time, just a blood test for possible anemia.
That is all next Friday. I see the surgeon on Monday to check on my progress from the last op.
I'm getting an Uber to the DEXA. Much happier about that.

I don’t think they are public for dogs, they are just a water feat. I saw a guy cleaning one one time and told him that my dog takes a dip when we passed through and asked if that was okay, he said he didn’t care and that it was fine, he thought it was cute5 -

Hello, my chickens!
Finally rousted Egg from her perch on top of my laptop so I could write to y'all... silly kitty! 🥰👀🐈⬛
I really did not want food at this time of day, but I also know I'll be hungry and sick if I don't have something to eat. Thus the eggs and toasted muffin, and I did get some of that down. The other choice was leftover pizza, and the thought of that was even more unbearable.
I started crocheting another afghan, or possibly a shawl, I haven't decided yet. Did I mention I bought about $100 worth of yarn for $6 at a garage sale last Saturday? Some beautiful ones, and some basic colors that will go well with anything. I avoided the mohair and the wool - both are hard on my hands for different reasons, and I just wanted basic yarn for basic pieces that I can use to keep my fingers busy for things like this appointment or for watching TV.
Monique ( @mcmillonmail ) - How's your leg doing? Hope it's better. I need to jump in the shower and get my knees taped up due to the walking I'll need to do for my appointment. Helps some. Not enough, though. As far as the chores, well, it's a year's worth, and for me less about accountability than just reminders
Heather - Hope the DEXA scan goes well, and the meeting with the surgeon. Today's one of the very few days I wish Uber was an option here. It may actually BE an option, but I can't even imagine the cost of a 50-mile round trip to the hospital.
Barbara - I have yet to find any project of maintenance/repair/replacement at the house that didn't expand into a stupid amount of time and at least double the anticipated cost. I think that we go in optimistic and are just terribly disappointed. Yet somehow, we never take it to heart and go in as pessimists! I'm sorry, I know it's terribly frustrating.
Heather, Barbie, and Tracey and others who mentioned the quilt - Thank you! I told my daughter that, after I get over the PTSD from making this one, we will talk about creating a SIMPLE quilt for her. This quilt was my idea, and my design, with some input from Viv on what she wanted, like the dogs and the plant... but more than once I had to walk away in frustration. It's exactly what my brain needed, but working on it is a true labor of love. Viv will only know how hard that was if she learns to quilt. I'm fine with that.
Spoke too fast on the VA really stepping up, but not their fault that the only opthalmologist they had is leaving. Couldn't get an appointment until March, so they're setting up the referral to see a local one in the community. It will all work out in the end.
Time to see if there's anything I need in terms of fabric to finish out the quilt side panels as I can run by Hobby Lobby while I'm in town and pick it up. Plus Corey wants me to stop at the beer store on the way back. I'll take a fiber cookie with me for after the scan. It will suffice until I get back home again. No fast food for me anymore; it always leaves me feeling ill for hours.
Later, my dearlings',
Love,
Lisa in AR

Good morning beautiful ladies!
Lisa that is a marvelous quilt! And so flat! The one time I tried quilting my piece was like a scrunchie.
And I'm with you about that almost snake! Better safe than sorry.
Pip happy birthday to Kirby! He is so cute!
Barbie wow that's a long walk!
Heather you are doing a great job getting around. Wish we had Uber but apparently there's not enough business near here.
Tracey Yay for scheduling the interview!
Barbara so sorry the water business is dragging on. One time at a work lunch it came out that all of the guys had carried household water in buckets as children. Such a tough way to live.
Well, today I'm going to dye my hair. I think. It's raining and I have no energy. Maybe I will just read and drink tea. Either way is okay. I should go look at my roots in the mirror to get motivated.
Have a wonderful day my friends! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!

PIP ~ Happy Birthday to Kirby.
Tracey ~ So glad you got the interview set up. You will be a great addition to the work force. Jonah is a cutie!
Rebecca ~ Eli is one cute little boy!
Monique ~ Wow! You have a lot of activities going on. I would be exhausted following you around. Hope your foot does well as you make the rounds.
Lisa ~ The quilt came out great! I can't remember what the theme was, but, I see a library setting.
Barbara ~ I would be shrieking too with frustration over the water problem not being solved. Is there any possibility that y'all could find someone else to go ahead and finish the job.
Lanette ~ Love your softly curling hair. You and your sister look great!
This week I have had my pre-op physical, blood work, chest x-ray, and a 2 hr class on the knee replacement procedure. It will be outpatient surgery so I will go home the same day. I will be given a bunch of equipment to use after the surgery to prevent blood clots, etc. So afraid I will forget to do everything they expect. I am scheduled to go to physical therapy the day after the surgery. Wish me luck!

The labor market here is very funny. If you talk to employers, they can’t get good people, if you talk to job seekers they don’t get calls. I think truly one of the problems is lazy people use AI to help with their resumes and cover letters then the employers software chooses those people based on key words, while the people that are looking and sincere, good workers are still trying to be honest about their accomplishments. It’s a truly miserable, frustrating process.
Tracey in Edmonton
I have trouble listening to "recreational" podcasts because I listen to way too many of those things & webinars at work.
I have a collection of them I keep thinking I should listen to / watch, but just can't motivate myself.
I use an Profile at the top of my resume which I litter with key words: knowledge management, database management, analytics and reporting, project management, process improvement, problem-solving skills. Then I've got similar terms throughout the resume.
Here, we produce a 4-page resume + a 2-page document that more or less addresses the key selection criteria. The 2-page document essentially provides proof of those key words. The key selection criteria might include project management skills (that's a common one), so I need to write a succinct paragraph in a STAR format to describe a time I used my project management skills. Then in the interview (a 3-person panel interview), I'll be asked to expand on my example and may be asked things like, "if the situation were different in this way, how would you have handled it?"
So it's possible, I suppose that AI might pick up key words, but there's a lot more employers are looking for, and potential employees need to prove that their key words are meaningful.
