Terri-congratulations on your anniversary!
Rebecca-glad you are going to see sister.
Tracey-there can be lots of reasons why interviews get delayed. We never send rejections until someone we have offered job to accepts it-they have been known to decline an offer. I wouldn't be bothered by that because many times it is a slim difference between two candidates. As someone else said, someone involved could have suddenly been out of office. The timeframe you are experiencing does not sound undue to me.
Lanette-agree with you on the foot-we are now working on all things in leg to help mine. Too early to tell but I am hopeful.
Allie-I join the group that says you must let brother stand on his own. It doesn't help him that Jean has enabled all of these years. You don't need to enable either one of them-you can always love from a distance.
We to doctor at Ohio State today. Cancer is once again stable (CT scans show no significant changes and blood work is stable. So-bloodwork every three months to monitor levels and a chest CT in January. Got bone density scan scheduled for February since I said I would follow up after implant done. Don't know that I will go back on fosomax but will get tests before final decision.
Having a bit of a gentle rain here-it is needed but grass is almost back to green.
Off to lady's group tonight.
Take care all,

Thanks for all the good thoughts. Colonoscopy is done. One small polyp found and removed. Yay! Really wasn't too bad.
FYI: I followed Allie's tip of drinking prep solution over ice with a straw. Also added small amounts of Good Earth spicy tea (Thanks, Debbie for recommending this product years ago) to cut the solution when it got hard to finish the last gulps in the glass. It has a strong cinnamon and ginger finish which really cut the yucky flavor and thickness. And then, I chewed my favorite gym to finish clearing my palate and enjoy a fresher mouth.
I'll be back here once I catch up reading. Till then, stay well.

Had a bit of a scare this afternoon as I was getting ready to leave for class. A friend messaged me to let me know there was a fire on the road mom lives on. Just a few miles down the road from her. Called and of course got mom's answering machine. I went online with the info friend gave me to see exactly where it was and then another friend messaged me. Her mom lives at the other end of the same road-about the same distance from the fire so she let me know more about it.
It is 35% contained now- at 50 acres. Thankfully it was a small one. Mom has been evacuated two other times during the fires. One of them came to the back door of the people directly across the street from her and the heat was so hot that it warped the green house roof of mom and dad's. That was a scary time- I was stranded at the church camp for a week(supposed to be there for 2 days)-with out power.

Heather - is your surgery Thursday or Friday?
I need to look at one of those over the fridge shelves. I have a whole cupboard up there that I could be using more effectively.
Mcmillonmail - I’m sorry I keep forgetting your name. I have the biggest respect for anyone that can work in healthcare, but I think pediatrics deserves even more.
I haven’t done any scrapbooking the last two weeks as it’s been too hot in that room.
My first interview went well, I gave a 2nd one finally scheduled today for Friday with the higher ups.
Machka - what gets me is that the position is actually open and no one has been doing it, therefore the longer they wait the bigger mess it will be to have someone come into.
Terri - Happy Anniversary!!!! Enjoy your day.
Lanette - that’s very insightful about the foot and dementia. I can see how that would connect.
Good news for Rosie and your wallet.
Lisa - that’s wonderful! I’m glad they came through. I think I need to make that in a mug for my SIL too!
Any interview process I have been involved with here as HR or the employee has never been this long for me, I guess it’s because people used to move so quickly here and it was an employees market so they didn’t want to risk losing someone they wanted.
I should know by the end of the week next week I assume now that I have the second interview scheduled for Friday.
Debbie - Scary stuff, glad your Mom’s home is safe.
Our poor little town of Jasper is losing structures. Maligne Lodge, Mount Robson Inn and the Petro Canada are gone last I heard. The firefighters are the only people left in town, even the first responders have been evacuated.
I really hope we get rain soon.
I finished the 3rd snowman tonight. Next week I’ll start on a bank for Michaela.
I started stripping my table today. What a job!

Gratitudes:
Today: This morning’s power outage was shorter than Monday’s ;}
Yesterday: T3 is low normal so MD recommends snacking on a little Nori to make sure I’m getting enough iodine. Funny I thought living on the coast was a natural source Anyhoo I’m thankful he’s not pushing thyroid meds. Mammo last month recommended breast MRI as the tissue is so dense. Family history reinforces the recommendation. Anyone have any experience? Is it as uncomfortable as the usual 3D smoosh?
Carol it amazes me that they have you walking immediately after the surgery. Bravissima!
Tracey love, love the Patches adventure and the look on Michaela’s face when they were reunited. How did you feel about the people interviewing you, did they feel compatible, honest, trustworthy, fun?
Terri, Happy Anniversary. 58 years, what an accomplishment!
Allie the hair cut. The Jean and Sean drama, not so much. Have you looked into AlAnon for family members of alcoholics? Might help prepare you to set and stick to your boundaries …
Lisa sorry to hear the past few days were rough. Congrats on the raise!
Rori glad to hear all’s well. Thanks for the Good Earth spicy tea tip, would never have thought of it for helping get the last of the solution down.
It’s been 6 sessions of BB&B since July 3 and I’m thankful I’ve gone. When coach asked how it was going I said “It’s HARD, but so worthwhile. Think there are tiny improvements, a bit easier to rise from a chair, etc. “ What I forgot to mention is that while balance is not yet noticeably better, stamina seems to be. That having been said, after BB&B and line dance today, I’m POOPED. No energy to make tuna salad, roast beets, prep artichoke, groom Tumble. Ah well, tomorrow after we return from nail trims…
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Tracey - The worst part of any furniture job is stripping the old varnish or paint off, isn't it? Once you start, though, you can't stop! 😲😁 Good luck on the interview, dear heart. You will do well. Look forward to seeing the finished table, too. I'm so sorry about the fires. Loving the snowman.
Terri - Happy anniversary!
Rori - Pleased that the scope went well.
Heather - Many good wishes on the surgery. You seem to have done better distracting yourself ahead of time this time, I think it's easier to deal with things when we know exactly what to expect. Hope the surgery is quick and successful and recovery is swift and painfree.
Allie - Hope you wake feeling better.
Thanks for noticing that I was MIA, I do tend to post a lot, don't I? Occasionally the weight of the last few years descends on me and I react to one of my to-be-expected, occasional tough days more like a honey badger than a plucky Pollyanna-type. I would have savaged anyone within ten feet of me quite happily there for a couple days. Best to remain silent. Luckily those are infrequent.
Medical shtuffs:Appointment snuck up on me, I had it in my calendars for Friday, but it's tomorrow morning. Initial dermatologist appointment, part of the baseline stuff for the Skyrizi. Should be hearing from ophthalmologist soon, and then just full round of lab work in two weeks. Was asked to get them done two weeks after first home injection.
But, bright spot is that, barring any issues with the lab work, that should set me up for a bit of a break. After all these are done, nothing in sight until late September colonoscopy 😳😲👀. Not my fav, but never met anyone who LIKES doing that prep. Trying to just think about it as a Hollywood colon cleanse. Urk. Because of my issues, it's a three-day clear liquid fast... then the usual prep.
K - My middle-of-the-night spate of loquacity has dried right up, time to head back to bed.
Later y'all,
Love,
Lisa2 -
Barbara, I haven't had a breast MRI, but other MRI, and it is loud but not uncomfortable. I get ultrasounds with my mammogram, earlier because of dense breasts, but now because they want to make sure nothing develops in my reduced right breast. The ultrasound is super easy. No pain at all.

Prayers for all of you going through the fire season! That sounds so scary!
Tracey ~ Wishing you the best on your interview. When my son got is last job, he was interviewed over and over but it has worked out well for him.
Carol in GA3 -
Very wakeful night. Lots of reading. I'm reading The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. I will download a new one for the post op wakefulness. Something familiar and soothing for the night hours.
I can nap today, as I'm not expecting to sleep well tonight! Nerves. I will sleep during the op on Friday anyway!
I find not being able to sleep on my side/front after the op very disconcerting. It was a couple of weeks for me last time.
Ginny - So glad to hear about the stability.
Tracey - V good luck with the second interview.
Carol - I have little energy. I do a little bit at a time, during my peak energy times. I break most tasks down into sections and don't mind if I have to leave it half-way, until the next session. I aim at progress, not perfection, and am happy with just throwing away one thing, or cleaning one half of a shelf. It took me two days to install the fridge rotator, done in small sessions.
1 Get some out of date jars out of fridge.
2 Empty contents carefully.
3 Wash jars for recycling.
4 Take jars to door for putting in bin. (John put them in the glass bin)
5 Remove current jars.
6 John removes and washes fridge shelf. Puts back.
7 I install new rotator and put remaining jars back.
All these things were done at different times and over two days. I can only work in very short bursts because of my hip and general energy. I spend most of my time resting. Overdoing things results in injury and exhaustion.
Every single thing that leaves my house for good, I count as a victory. I love to simplify my life.
I aim for less, every day. It gives me so much more.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Feeling devastated about Jasper. I love that town. So many good memories.
Machka in Oz4 -
Lisa - Last time I was in agony before the op. I would've cut my own leg off rather than carry on like that. I don't know how people wait over a year for these ops. I could barely walk ten steps, and was in radiating pain all night. Plus I was battling a UTI with a deadline to meet! Plus I was isolating. I couldn't wait to get to the operating table.
This time I'm mobile, within reason, and in no more discomfort that a couple of paracetamol won't fix. I am staying away from people, but happily Zooming and telephone chatting. Decluttering gives me peace and pleasure.
It certainly feels weird to be submitting myself again to the considerable pain of the post op days. I will ask for better pain management for the Saturday morning. That was horrible, but they wanted me perky for my first physio, and an X-ray downstairs. I was not amused. Nor did I enjoy the bedpan and the commode, but they were only once each, and then I was able to get to the toilet on my crutches. My main problem was fluctuating BP, so they were very wary of letting me walk at first.
So, I'm not anticipating a light ride, but it needs doing, and I will be glad when it's over.
Sorry you've had a bad few days. Horrible.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx7 -
Morning ladies
Another yucky night, but only because i had a later nap,and Alfie is on a new kick of getting up to use the wee wee pad at night and expecting a treat when he grts back..and if he doesn't get it, then he starts barking..honestly
If its not him its the cat lol, headache a tad better, but sinuses still aching.
I get a little reprieve ,Alfie to the groomer in a few minutes.

Good morning ladies!
Just a quick observation.
I watched a short video yesterday that talked about the massive health hack that people forget.... any guesses?
It's that we are the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with. (I think we've mentioned this before in this group.)
Many days, you ladies in this group are my 5 (plus) people.
I consider myself very, very fortunate.
More later-
