Did I miss that you are not currently tracking? If so, what led you to this?

Not tracking or inconsistent tracking is totally temporary. When I moved, most decent habits were compromised! Slowly getting back into the swing of things and then I go on vacation next week. It will be mid August before I buckle down again.
@itladyee I totally get it. I did not know if you were trying some new method that did not include tracking. Sounds like you have a plan! :)

@quiltingjaine Your DH does not have to know whether you ate the Hersheys. :)

This thought had occurred to me BUT it was about 112 degrees when he got it and it was melting or melted by the time he got to the car SO he wants to see if it sticks to the wrapper when I open it! It is in the freezer still.

    July 16 - 173.8 - I'm stuck at 173.X. It will move soon. B)
July 17 - 173.8 - Yep, 3 days in a row, LOL. I've found a way to keep my cravings from hitting so hard in the afternoons. It's simple but it's working. I've flipped my oatmeal or shredded wheat from morning to afternoon. The complex carbs do the trick.
July 18 - 172.6 - Finally, a drop! The old me tried to come out yesterday. I was donating to a cat rescue thrift shop and across the street was a convenient store. All the years I worked from home I would go out at lunch and get chips and diet coke even though I didn't have it in the house on purpose. Anyway, I was thinking just a small bag of salty, greasy, carby chips (how can I like those things) won't hurt. I then thought about all the work I've done to get where I am and also to get the scale to drop, and all the times I give in right before I'm going to have a drop. The problem is that one bag would lead to one more bag, etc., and my cravings will take off. I'm proud of myself, which seems weird to say, because on the surface it doesn't sound that bad to have just a small bag of chips, but for me it starts it all up again. Thanks for listening!
    July 19 - 172.6 - 172.X stuck for another day - YAY!
July 20 - 172.6 - Wow, another weight showing up the same for 3 days straight. B) As part of my plan to eat more vegetables/fiber, I cooked two bags of organic carrots this morning. It's just too hot to roast them so I cooked them in my dutch oven on top of the stove with butter (I was out of olive oil), salt, paprika and garlic powder. I let them brown some and then a little chicken broth to remove from bottom of pan. They tasted so good. A serving was 67 calories and 5g fiber. I did not peel, I just scrubbed them really good.
July 21- 172.6 - Groundhog Day on the scale again today. My plan to hopefully see a new LOWER number tomorrow is eat on the low end of my calorie cycyling, drink 80oz of water, and eat less carbs. We'll see if this does the trick. I'm good though because at least it's not going up. It's just weird having the same number 4 days straight.
July 22 - 172.4 - I'm glad the .6 didn't show up today! I hate cooking so I tend to do anything fast and easy. Yesterday I threw a bunch of skinless, boneless chicken breast into my dutch oven with spices and a little chicken broth. I didn't even brown them first, just straight from the container to the pot. I cooked on 350 degrees for over an hour. I knew I would be shredding because they wouldn't be good any other way after cooking this way. I then steamed a large pot of broccoli. With these and the big pot of carrots from the day before, we can eat on these most of the week. My husband mixes with rice.

    GW for this round: 207

7/15 212.0 Working out last night wasn’t easy after taking time off for vacation, but it wasn’t as hard as I expected. This week’s goal is to get back on track with water and logging food. Hoping I can lose at least 1 pound from where I was before vacation.

7/16 210.8 Moving in the right direction. Forced myself to get out and walk in the heat yesterday. Took my water with me and got another 24 oz in during the walk. It was worth it.

7/17 209.0 Almost back down to pre-vacation weight. Increased my walk this week to 2 miles a day. Feeling good right now.

7/18 208.6 Work lunch yesterday and I ate more carbs than usual. Drank more water though and hit 2.5 miles walking. I’m back to pre-vacation weight and getting closer to 20 pounds lost! Going to celebrate this small win with some walking today, but otherwise resting on the exercise front.

    7/19 208.0

7/20 DNW Was hungry late last night and indulged in Taco Bell after game night with friends. I’m feeling the yuck of high sodium, bad nutrition today, but that’s okay because tomorrow will be better.

7/21 209.6 Late night ice cream for the kill. Oh yeah and chips and salsa. Apparently this weekend is all about satisfying cravings. I’m going to have to be better if I’m going to hit my goal in the next 3 days.

7/22 DNW Woke up this morning feeling off. Not sure what my body/mind is playing at today, but I’m just going to stick to my plans. Log my food, drink my water, and exercise. I have to remind myself consistency is the most important key.

    7/23 209.8
7/24 208.0 It’s not my goal of 207, but the early-ish TOM explains the mood swings, water retention, and desire to eat everything in sight. I should be better at knowing my body’s cues by now, but I still get caught off guard. On the bright side, I started the round at 212 and ended at 208, which is a 4 pound loss and I’m 0.6 pounds down from the last round start weight (pre-vacation). See everyone in the next round!

I am on vacation until 7/21, so this will definitely be a challenge. We have the 4-year old DGD with us too, so that’s going to make this more of a challenge.
7/15 171.2 My food consumption was well within range yesterday, and I got in a good walk before Emberly got up. Drank a LOT of water after spending the afternoon in the heat on the boat, so maybe that explains some of the uptick. Oh well, today is another day to make good choices and hope they show up on the scale.
7/16 171.2 Got in a walk before Emberly got up. Food intake was controlled well for vacation.
7/17 171.2 Scales is holding steady so I’m happy with this.
7/18 171.0 I’ve been able to control my food intake in spite of vacation, so I’m happy!
7/19 170.6 Moving in the right direction. It’s been all about quantity on this trip. I’m still eating many of the seafood treats we love when we come to Florida (some of them are fried), but serving sizes have been much reasonable. I don’t feel deprived, and I am satiated. There’s a small key lime pie in the fridge, but I’ve eaten it in small servings and tracked everything, staying with calorie range and pretty close to macro goals.
    7/20 Did not track.
7/21. Fly home. Did not track.
7/22 172.2 Expected, as the last couple days were not careful. Home now and getting back in the groove, though.
7/23 169.8 Alright! I have a feeling this goes back up a bit tomorrow, but I’m quite happy with this considering I was gone almost the entire round. Got in an indoor bike ride yesterday since it was so hot outside.
7/24 169.0 Pleased with this round and looking forward to seeing you all in the next one. Here’s to a new decade!

@UTMom81 Congrats to getting to a new decade! I'm right on your heels, hopefully next round :)

@SModa61 When we lived with diabetic aunt I made all pies with Splenda. Also not a great choice but would it work in your case? DH actually liked them better that way. Now I use one of the sugar alcohols with no complaints. The dietary limitations! When he went to an allergist, he was told to eliminate “apples, oranges, onions, garlic, and wheat” for 6 months. He/we did it but at the end of 6 months didn’t notice any difference.

July Goals: Lost six weeks and regained 7 pounds adjusting to third shift work schedule. Exercise, water and step count have all also dropped considerably. Goals this month are simply to lose as much as possible just getting back in the groove. Starting over 7/12 @ 202.6 lbs | BF 38.4% | BMI 30.1

June Goals: Having gotten as low as 193 in both April and May, I'd like to drop below that in June. (FAIL)

    6/5 - 196.8
    6/6 - 195.1
    6/7 - 195.3

    MAY 1st SW: 197.3 | EW: 196.8
MAY Goals: Lose 6-8bs, 2-3 inches and 1-2% body fat ❎❎❎

May 22: I had packed some shorts to change into after swim without trying them on. They were so tight last summer, I expected the fit to be better ~ but when I put them on ... wow. I was in front of the locker room mirrors and was like omg, that's you. How long has it been since you looked/felt like that? I was spinning around looking at myself for a good 2-3 minutes, y'all, lol ~ my New #1NSV
    hpo390fqc3bz.png

May 4: 10 of the 20 inches lost was off my belly! No pics, no proof, lol ~ I love/hate taking photos because they've become one of my best tools. You can't lie and you can't hide. Putting myself on blast 1) creates incentive to increase effort and 2) highlights new areas to focus on. Still a long way from my ultimate goals, but its nice to see muscle memory is real! At a size 15, I haven't been this small in more than 10 years.

    6tknsk7ulj4z.png

    APRIL 1st SW: 198.2 | EW: 197.8
Goals: Lose 6-8bs, 2-3 inches and 1-2% body fat ❎❎❎
Lost less than a pound, 1.25 inches combined on arms and legs | regained 0.2% body fat and 1/2 inch back on my belly. Starting dietary 200-400 calorie deficit and Intermittent Fasting 18-24 hrs. Breaking fast differently, including more protein, and continuing to look for new ways to increase step count and add more strength in May.

January 1st - April 1st, I've lost 17 pounds and a total of 20.8 inches from 11 areas. 🥳 Thrilled to see my hard work reversing prediabetes and years of physical damage. Getting leaner and stronger and chair dancing proud of myself about it!! 57 and hormonal, it's taken longer than expected and a much rougher road than my youth.

Reaching onederland (March 13th) meant the end of 10+ years and up to 80 pounds!! gained and relost too many times to count. Yo-yoing is the main reason for so much body fat!!! Determined not to continue to self-sabotage ... I need a new target!! If I should lose an additional 8% body fat to reach the "standard" for my age, height and sex ~ and up to 15% more to reach excellent ~ that's @ least another 8-15 months of work before I can begin to relax and think maintenance.

@chapter_3 did I miss what your one year challenge is?

Hi! I wrote that hastily, so it doesn’t make sense… Next round 7/31 I will be one year on this challenge… I want to spend some time with review and challenge myself to jumpstart next round, so yes, it was a miscommunication!

@quiltingjaine Impressive the chocolate bar is still in the freezer. Bravo!

As for the allergist, interesting set of restrictions. Onions, garlic and wheat are in the same FODMAP group, apples are another, oranges had none. So, it does sound like they were targeting allergies like you were likely pointing out. Have you/DH ever looked into the low FODMAP protocol? There are 6 catagories of FODMAPS and there is a whole approach for determining if one has a sensitivity to one or more of them. I am rusty at this point, but I remember the basics. It is a PITA, but it can be eyeopening.

    Closing out the round :)

7/21 221.2 ~ It actually feels weird to not track, not plan my meals. It's a little scary and challenging wondering what dinner will be and I'm missing my regular exercise. But these boxes though!! :). But this morning, I'm going to take some downtime, enjoy a cup or two of coffee and catch up. Bear with me on my late responses.

7/23 218.4 ~ Not even sure how that happened.... I did resume my workouts yesterday, but only at about 75% of what I was doing before.
    7/24 220 ~ lower than start... I'm good..
