Well, I had a fun day. We left even earlier than we did yesterday. Came home by 7:11am. Came home then did a 15 mile bike ride on the spin bike. The guys working on the outside accidentally cut a wire on one of the outside plugs so kirby tuned off the power while I was on the bike so starve didn’t save the ride but zwift did. So I started over and did the rest of the 15mile ride I was planning on doing. The plan was then go donate blood, then go to the lazy dog restaurant so kirby can get his free sampler and I can get the free tv dinner. I had a mojito made with coconut water (130 cal). We sat outside (they have fans) because I get too cold with the ac. After I had my drink and we were sitting outside. I told Kirby I was feeling lightheaded and I put my head down on the table and apparently I passed out and when I woke up there were 3 reps from the restaurant and they put OJ in front of me to drink. Later I find that I fainted, Kirby called for help. Before I knew it there were like 4 firemen there. I told them I needed to go to the bathroom (to poop). They then sat me inside and I was sweating buckets. My heart rate was low (it usually it, resting hr is 50 usually) . These guys looked like they should have been on a calendar. I told them I felt like I had to throw up, they helped me to the John and there went the mojito. Then the ambulance came, they said my blood pressure was too low and suggested I go to the hospital, I declined and told them I live real close and I would go home and lay down which is what I ended up doing. I wear an Apple Watch and saw my heart rate range was 41-109. My resting heart rate for today was 45.
I usually weigh myself in the morning, then after I’m done with my workout, but I did it one more time after I took a nap and got up again at around 2ish.
Morning- 136.0
After walk and spin- 134.8
After I came home, after nap- 132.6

Mild heart attack? I would have been inclined to go to the hospital. Surprised they didn't insist.4 -
Today’s gratitude: chat with Joe in the car on the way to pooches’ nail trims. He was unusually talkative, I finally figured out it was because I was driving. Next time when he’s driving and silent, I’ll try to remember he’s concentrating, not giving me the cold shoulder.
Yes, Lisa, you were missed. “honey badger” Sorry for the tough days, glad you’re back. Had to google neural fibroma. Did it pain you much?
Flea thanks for your voice of experience. And insights on the meds that keep you alive vs meds for dealing with side effects. ((hugs))
Heather, whooshing you better pain management, swift, complete recovery. Sounds like they are preparing your brother well, hard time ahead, but hopeful of good outcome.
Lanette, “Many days, you ladies in this group are my 5 (plus) people. I consider myself very, very fortunate. ” Ditto and amen, sister, amen! When he’s done at your house could you send Rusty down here?
Annie you sound so much more confident about Dad’s birthday prep. Well done!
Carol NOT what you needed. Hope today’s Ortho appointment shows no serious damage done, and gives better work arounds to avoid future falls. ((hugs))
Likewise Margaret, sorry to hear you were hurting. Proud of you for sticking to your plan and glad the pain has eased. What you said about outrunning a poor diet, truth!
Tracey thanks for the MRI advice ;} that you felt comfortable and clicked with the interviewing ladies. Would they be working with you?
Allie sMyles of the jungle. Does Sean have a lawyer to protect his interests in the divorce?
Michele it’s getting scary with specialists “opting out” from Medicare. My oral surgeon made me sign a form acknowledging he wasn’t in the Medicare system and that I couldn’t submit his $$$$ bills to them for reimbursement. Kind of like Heather having to pay $$$$$ for private hip replacement. Sheesh!
Terri your anniversary dinner sounds just right! Googled “honeycomb ice cream” and learned this: “Despite being called honeycomb, it’s not made from any honey at all. It’s made with caramel candy. That all might seem confusing until you realize that ice cream is also made without ice. Your whole life has been a lie.” ROTFLMAO!
Pip how scary! Please reconsider and get checked out.
KJ thanks for sharing your breast MRI experience. Mine has always been dense, but never from lifting/working out a lot ;}
Rosemarie so thankful you love yoga and relaxing on your deck. Very restorative.
Machka yours to pip.
Debbie is your mom’s roommate gone?
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Dang, Pip - 😲Hope it's just a glitch in the Matrix, and you're back to your usual self with nothing wrong. Maybe call your primary care doctor and get checked over? Passing out without warning is not something you should probably ignore.
Heather - Woke up thinking about you. Hope the surgery's quite successful and your recovery is swift and easy.
Rosemarie - I was up about the same time you were, but 2 a.m. my time. There was this old countertop dishwasher I was trying to hook up in my dream, with hoses leading all over the kitchen, and I was trying to keep the electric cord out of the water, and somebody advising me in my ear that I couldn't do it that way! 😂😲😁 After drifting right back into that same dream fitfully three or four times, I wrenched myself out of the bed. Hope you were able to go back to sleep.
Keeping a good thought for everyone affected by the fires in Canada, California and Oregon. Such devastating damage reports coming out of this year's fire season.
As for me, I've got laundry going, and the house cooling down so I can get into my sewing/craft room. Like Tracey, there's no cool air in that room, so the rest of the house air conditioners have to be on, and then I use fans to work in there. I'm very nearly finished with the quilt, and would love to be done with it today. Then a fingers-crossed first washing through the gentle cycle on cold, and hang it out on the line. Only two years in the making!
So... time to go swap the laundry and get the second load going, and then see if I can't finish up the quilt, or at least give it the old college try!
Later, y'all,
Love,
Lisa in AR

COVID booster shots.

Pip-I have had a similar situation-related to overheating. Very scary. I have really started focusing on hydration and limiting some of the outside time (so 30 minutes walking at one time not two hours). As others are encouraging-getting checked would not hurt.
KJ-yes, Kylia and I are both in southwestern Ohio (3 hours or so to Michigan border). We have always trended hight than Michigan. The past couple of years have been a bit brutal for periods of time. I have good AC!
Heather-hoping today goes smoothly as you join the double hippy club!
Rosemarie-I think opting to stay to help mom is the right call. I am a bit confused-will you only be at the hotel two nights? Will your brother be there to help the two you are at the B&B?
Barbara AHMOD-regarding the drive-isn't it interesting when we can see something from another person's perspective?
Tracey-good luck with interview!
Medicines-I try to take as few as possible.I have seen impact of overmedication. My only consistent pills are my thyroid meds (since I have no thyroid and it is my basic cancer treatment). I do take vitamins/supplements but mainly to help bones and joints. I get a bone density test early next year. I will reevaluate going back on fosomax at that time (went off for dental implant, don't care for potential long bone fracture side effects since I have hip implants). But ultimately each person must make their own choices.
Health ramblingAccording to my Apple Watch I got 8.5 hours of sleep last night. All I know is I remember one trip to bathroom around 4 and got up at 5:30. In the last month I have increased sleep average by half an hour-averaging just under 7 hours. Hope this means whatever had messed up my sleep etc, for the past year of so (I am convinced the two bouts of COVID did me in). At docs this week they did tell me they have seen a wide variety of impacts. It fits the timing for my sleep disruptions and foot issues and some of my sudden bloodwork changes. Hopeful that I am heading towards the end of impact. I know I have been very lucky with many things.
Start day with PT at 8:30-work from home after that. I am getting back on track from vacation. Need to contract place that told me they were sending back my deposit-I asked for it in check form since credit card I put it on has been paid.
Hope everyone has a good end to the work week (even if you are retired!).
Take care all,

Just waiting for the surgeon to come and mark me up, and the anaesthetist. I am hungry! It's now 11.35.
I will probably go down in an hour or so. I hope. I'm still drinking water.
Our Uber driver did not please us. She was on a very loud phone to her family when we got in. We argued with her. John was beginning to cry and I was angry with the way she kept trying to justify herself. Then she tried to give me some holy oil. I have never had an experience like that, ever! I reported it on the online feedback form.
My room isn't quite as nice as last time and there is more corridor noise, but it's fine.
Just waiting ........

Pip ~ How terrible! I am so glad you are safe and hope you continue to do well. Just don't overdo it in all this heat.
Barbara ~ I'm glad you enjoyed the ride with your husband. Conversation is nice. My husband tends to cuss at all the traffic so sometimes it is not fun to ride with him.
Rosemarie ~ Lanette: You are both really to be admired for all you have accomplished this last year. You have made it a point to find new things to make life without your dear husbands easier. Please keep up all the activities you have started.
I went to the ortho dr and the PA cleaned off the site and put new bandages on. I think I am ready to start healing now. Cannot do PT until after I see them again to make sure the excessive bleeding has stopped. Overall, I think I was trying to do too much right after the operation but that is the stubborn in me. Did rest yesterday...slept 4 hrs in the afternoon and was in be from 8 to 6 last night.

Heather! Gosh what a ride to the hospital. Hope things proceed quickly.
Rosemarie - I'm also trying to keep up with the protein, and have been starting my day with eggs. I'm supposed to have 2 or 3. I'm to the point I have run out of ideas on how to fix them and they don't seem appetizing anymore. Makes skipping breakfast a few days a week easier these days. Wasn't it your brother who hinted you could care for your mom? So happy to hear you are enjoying being home on your deck and left the cat rescue.
Barbara - I used to love it when my DH had the opportunity to talk when we were going somewhere. When he drove, he was constantly criticizing other drivers and playing "race cars". Ugh. When I drove, I know it was hard for him to curtail his back-seat driver tendency, but it was much better for both of us.
Margaret - Glad you recovered quickly from your short illness. I get what you were saying about meds. Try correcting diet and behaviors before relying on pills. (Unless there's no other choice as in Flea's case.) My DH was on 7 or 8 by the time he passed, some to alleviate the side effects of the others. I'm certain that contributed to his dementia and rapidly failing health toward the end of his life. Makes me more determined to fix my pre-diabetes with diet and exercise. So far I'm just on a mild BP med.
Ginny - wonderful you are getting increased sleep. Hoping feet continue to be on the mend. Thank goodness it's Friday! Even though I've been retired for nearly 8 years, there's still a part of my internal calendar that recognizes weekends.
Back later -

Good morning beautiful ladies!
Rita so sorry your mom had an ER episode. Will she be back at her usual home soon?
Michele that's a long time to wait for an oven fix! Hope it's fixed soon.
Carol so sorry you fell! How scary! How is your mobility now?
KJ yes I got my hair dyed. Yay! It made me nervous to be unavailable for so long. But I did it!
Allie I don't know if it helps, but I also had a brother who was way off track with drugs and alcohol etc. He was born flawed and there was nothing we could do, except avoid letting him take us down. It won't help anybody if you drive tired and wreck. Just say no.
Pip Wow was that heat stroke? So scary, especially since you go out alone with the dogs all the time. Take care of yourself! If one of your dogs passed out, you would see the vet right?
Heather thinking of you, your operation and your brother. You have a lot on your plate!
Ginny glad you are sleeping better! It's the foundation of health!
Margaret so sorry you were ill. Hope you feel better today.
Well I think I've got the party prep going okay, so time for the next challenge. My sister has strep throat but she started treatment yesterday so she should be fine to fly out on Monday. Then she said her son, might fly out to buy Dad's car. That is a whole new set of tasks including picking him up at the airport, and convincing Dad to sell the car. He said he wants to keep it forever but I don't want to do the maintenance. So my nephew is talking to my sister who talks to me and I talk to dad. I need to be informed but I feel like I'm in the middle with no control of this part. I suppose I will just wait and see what happens. Maybe read up on paperwork to sell a car.
Have a great day! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Morning all
Pip- sheesh girl..had you given blood? Not eaten and exercised? That would do it..I got a call from friends of my dad that he was on his way to the hospital .he had given blood..not eaten and was busy during the day and was dehydrated..
Please be careful my friend.
And on the subject of medication..
I so wish I didn't have to take as many as I do..before my heart surgeries..I was basically ok..but now ..its rediculous..between the heart, kidneys and lupus..plus after the kidney transplant I will be on at least 20 more for my lifetime..
But hey its better than the alternative..
We have lovely weather..the humidity is low and it will be in the low 80s today and sunny.

California is also going through wildfires and it air quality and health. We had that in Minnesota last year it was awful. You did have to limit outside time for yourself and your pets. It could have contributed. You mentioned 900 calories. For all that activity that seems like a low number of calories. In that heat do you drink water with electrolytes. One of my nieces got heat stroke in hot weather. She drank plenty of water and she ended up getting sick because of an electrolyte imbalance.5

Carol, I’m glad your doctor thinks your knee will be ok. Goodness gracious, that had to be scary.
Pip, although it does sound like you may have just overdone it in the eat, please get checked out if you aren’t feeling yourself now that you’ve rested.
Heather, best wishes for good results.
Rita, prayers for your mother. It has to be hard to be so far away.

I'm out of surgery and back in my room. All went well. I did wet the bed, because I had been drinking so much water, but that's normal.
John will be arriving in ten minutes - very relieved I'm sure.
So, onwards and upwards. I'm hoping for not too much pain this time. I have told everyone!
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx11 -
@Heather I hope all went well and better than last time!
@Carol what happened with your knee?
My mom is in therapy and should be back home within a couple days. I called and she sounded good, but kept forgetting who I was. Part of being 88 and the drug problem she had to deal with.
My dinner yesterday was a large salad, coconut flour topped chicken thighs, squashed and fried rice mix with overcooked rice (DH likes it like that) with mushrooms and onions.

As I understand it, today is Mick Jagger’s 81st birthday. Way to make me feel old!
A few weeks ago we texted Denise and told her we’d like to come up Aug 21, 22, and 23. I think PJ starts school on the 27th so I’d like to see him before school starts. She just now texted Vince that she’s going to be busy in Aug, they may have to put Rex (Pete’s dog) down. Seems he has kidney problems (no idea how severe) and something about a horizontal stomach (?). So Vince just texted her back if there was any time in Aug. we can come up since we’d like to see PJ before school starts. Fortunately, we booked the hotel but we can cancel as long as it’s before the 14th. And I didn’t tell BK yet.
Remember I told you that she asked us to come up there for a few days while she and Pete go to Europe for a baseball game. I told you it wouldn’t happen...and it didn’t. Last time we were up she said that she wanted to take PJ and Pete to Disney World. We mentioned how expensive it is (doable but still expensive). No more talk of this, either.
Don’t worry, Rebecca, PJ has never been to our house either. Love all the pics. How wonderful of you to be up there
Since I didn’t work at the soup kitchen today (they have a group that’s coming in so they told the regulars they didn’t have to come in) went with Vince to his allergy shot, then made a small donation at the Salvation Army and had to go in. Go to the vet later
My gf in Switzerland who passed away, her hubby told me that today (yesterday?) they are going to spread her ashes atop this one mountain that she climbed with her husband and she was so proud that she made it all the way. I may send him an email tomorrow asking how he’s doing.
Annie – I hope the oven gets fixed soon, too. But I guess waiting is better than having to buy a new stove, so I’ll look at it that way. Glad you got your hair colored
Heather – I’m so very relieved that your op went well. I just know that you’ll make a quick recovery. That’s just you
Invited Lynette and Ken to dinner tomorrow. Invited them maybe a week ago. She just now got back to me that they're going to be coming. I need to check with her as to time.
Off to the vet in an hour. Think I’ll go spend some time with the kitties

Rosemary- as of a couple days ago, no, the room mate hasn't moved out yet. I will find out more on Sunday when I call mom. Hoping she is gone or at least has a date set to be out when I go up next weekend.
I need to talk with mom about bringing some furniture up for the room- just a dresser and a futon. We need a bed in there for not only me but any guests. It will be perfect because they are both in our storage unit from dh's aunt- both are really good quality and barely used. Nice to have them out of our way and mom won't have to worry about replacing what was given away when Joanne moved in.
Carol- my dh is the same way- road rage all the time over silly little things. There have been many times I have been tempted to just get out of the car and walk home or call for a ride. Every thing seems to set him off
Glad you didn't do too much damage to your incision- take it easy!! Dh didn't after his first hip surgery and still has trouble with that one.
Heather- glad you are done with your second surgery, now to carefully heal up and get back to doing what you love and have been missing.
Rebecca- I know you have loved time with your grandkids but also know you are more than ready for a break- enjoy the time with your sister.
