You don't have to be perfect, you just have to be better than you were before

7/24 - 150.4 - I'll take that slight drop! Food was good yesterday. Today is a bit more challenging as we're having homemade calzones by popular vote. I found a higher protein pizza crust option I'm going to try for myself tonight that involves greek yogurt and flour. Hopefully it'll work as a calzone well enough since I've managed to make it work with my macros as a pre-planned thing. Good workout today despite waking up feeling awful. I had such a bad migraine that I nearly threw up - fortunately I didn't and was able to get a couple Excedrin down which, after a bit, helped. By the end of my workout, the migraine faded into a dull headache which I'm still battling. At least it's tolerable and I still managed my workout. I was even able to progressively overload - not something I expected to pull off with how I felt waking up. Win!
Previous Day's Comments7/15 - I'm bloated, dehydrated, and my BM routine is all messed up. I ended up taking BF to his surgery since it was moved up and then it ended up getting delayed. I was late leaving to get the kids so no chance to stop at the store to stock up on healthy roadtrip treats like I had planned. I didn't have near enough protein, fiber, or water. I'm catching back up today, though, as best as possible. Went to the gym with SD and she's glad to be back after 2 weeks off. I'm glad to get movement in after 2 days in the car and then running errands and playing nursemaid yesterday. BF is doing okay post-op. Finally got him comfortable enough in bed propped up he didn't have to go to the recliner for another night. Glad SD and I could find good enough pillows to make that happen. He has his first physical therapy appointment on Friday so we're getting things moving quickly on recovery. No word yet from Coach today if she'll change macros. I have my meals and snacks today planned around current macros nearly perfectly so I hope she doesn't change them. Glad to be back here for another round!!
7/16 - First Responder Appreciation Day yesterday. Had catered food for lunch and then we ate out for dinner, I'm surprised the tick up wasn't more. I did stay mindful, though. I found the nutritional information for the catered lunch on their website so I was able to make a guess at portion sizes and log. Dinner was a shot-in-the-dark guess but there were many options for ground beef taco salad that all fell within a similar calorie/macro range so I figured it's a decent guess. I was well over on protein, within goal on fat (9g over, within my buffer), and under carbs by 24 (with the buffer, I was only under by 14) which is really good considering it was all logged AFTER I finished the day. I did hit the gym with SD yesterday and again this morning despite being in the sun and dehydrated yesterday (I had nearly 120oz of water but that isn't enough in the sun in Texas). Back on track today! I forgot I have labs Friday so no workout. I'll probably gently stroll on the treadmill since SD will need a ride to/from the gym. It's my hormonal panel and research says "no strenuous" but a gentle slow stroll shouldn't be hard. Plus, I'll have another 2.5 hours after to calm down before my appointment.
7/17 - How did I lose so many days?! Gosh between work and BF getting surgery, my days are all messed up. This weekend was hectic as it was the last weekend Fam is around before the kids leave for the school year. This coming weekend is their last weekend of the summer with us. Time flies when you're having fun. Macros are unchanged this week but she's leaning towards dropping me slightly further into a deficit starting next Monday if my check-in goes well. TOM hit this morning just after weigh-in so I'm hoping I can see a small drop tomorrow from that. I'm also focusing on getting my water goal in since I was off by 10oz yesterday and I'm not even sure how close I was Saturday. I didn't track a single thing Saturday hah! But that's life and I enjoyed myself. Lunches meal prepped and dinners planned for this week so I'm set to meet all my goals! I did my hormonal panel labs on Friday but due to the lab's systems being down due to that cyber attack situation, I'm not sure how much that will delay results. They say 3-10 business days so maybe closer to the 10 due to that? Labs were first thing in the morning so I'm not sure how long systems were down and I was fortunate I printed my lab orders so they could manually do all the paperwork - otherwise I'd have had to reschedule.

7/23 - Not the drop I was hoping for... I am feeling quite sore from my workout yesterday, though. Also BF made dinner and it was a tad more salty than I'd normally eat. We're getting a good storm this morning so I'm trying to post before internet goes out, if it does. The lights have already flickered a couple times. A good workout again this morning and meals planned out for today to hit goal. Feeling pretty good about things!6 -

I’m a serial dieter/gainer whose weight has varied by 50 lbs over the years; I’m working to change my relationship with food. I joined this group in 12/23 at 147, lost 22 lbs and reached my goal in 4/24. I’m now working to understand my patterns so I know where my pitfalls are. My goal is to remain within the same 3-4 lb range for good!

July Goals: Lost six weeks and regained 7 pounds adjusting to third shift work schedule. Exercise, water and step count have all also dropped considerably. Goals this month are simply to lose as much as possible just getting back in the groove. Starting over 7/12 @ 202.6 lbs | BF 38.4% | BMI 30.1
June Goals: Having gotten as low as 193 in both April and May, I'd like to drop below that in June. (FAIL)
6/5 - 196.8
6/6 - 195.1
6/7 - 195.3
MAY 1st SW: 197.3 | EW: 196.8
MAY Goals: Lose 6-8bs, 2-3 inches and 1-2% body fat ❎❎❎
May 22: I had packed some shorts to change into after swim without trying them on. They were so tight last summer, I expected the fit to be better ~ but when I put them on ... wow. I was in front of the locker room mirrors and was like omg, that's you. How long has it been since you looked/felt like that? I was spinning around looking at myself for a good 2-3 minutes, y'all, lol ~ my New #1NSV
May 4: 10 of the 20 inches lost was off my belly! No pics, no proof, lol ~ I love/hate taking photos because they've become one of my best tools. You can't lie and you can't hide. Putting myself on blast 1) creates incentive to increase effort and 2) highlights new areas to focus on. Still a long way from my ultimate goals, but its nice to see muscle memory is real! At a size 15, I haven't been this small in more than 10 years.
APRIL 1st SW: 198.2 | EW: 197.8
Goals: Lose 6-8bs, 2-3 inches and 1-2% body fat ❎❎❎
Lost less than a pound, 1.25 inches combined on arms and legs | regained 0.2% body fat and 1/2 inch back on my belly. Starting dietary 200-400 calorie deficit and Intermittent Fasting 18-24 hrs. Breaking fast differently, including more protein, and continuing to look for new ways to increase step count and add more strength in May.
January 1st - April 1st, I've lost 17 pounds and a total of 20.8 inches from 11 areas. 🥳 Thrilled to see my hard work reversing prediabetes and years of physical damage. Getting leaner and stronger and chair dancing proud of myself about it!! 57 and hormonal, it's taken longer than expected and a much rougher road than my youth.
Reaching onederland (March 13th) meant the end of 10+ years and up to 80 pounds!! gained and relost too many times to count. Yo-yoing is the main reason for so much body fat!!! Determined not to continue to self-sabotage ... I need a new target!! If I should lose an additional 8% body fat to reach the "standard" for my age, height and sex ~ and up to 15% more to reach excellent ~ that's @ least another 8-15 months of work before I can begin to relax and think maintenance.4 -

@chapter_3 did I miss what your one year challenge is?
Hi! I wrote that hastily, so it doesn’t make sense… Next round 7/31 I will be one year on this challenge… I want to spend some time with review and challenge myself to jumpstart next round, so yes, it was a miscommunication!

Round goals: > 3 miles/day walking (1:00 time wise), track diet and be under goals, golf, driving range or gym in addition to walking.
7/17 Wed: 193.8 lbs, 1:04 walking, diet under goal, driving range.
7/18 Thu: 192.0 lbs, 3:36 walking or jogging a bit, diet under goal, and an hour at the driving range. Got in a lot of walking but trying to put some jogging in the mix didn't work out that well, have knee issues and hoping to get some jogging in the mix but not sure how that's going to work out.
7/19 Fri: 190.1 lbs, 1:03 walking, hit diet goals, 9 hole round of golf.
7/20 Sat: 193.3, no walking, leg (quads) issue, barbecue and boating for my wife's work team so diet a bit off also.
7/21 Sun: 193.2, diet still off. Charity golf outing so payed 18 holes but 3+ hour drive each didn't do much for my back or leg so no other exercising.
7/22 Mon: Didn't weigh and diet still off.
7/23 Tue: 194.3, going the wrong way but my weight varies day to day a bit. Got it 1:20 walk at noon at least. Back and leg still bothering me some. Played 9 holes of golf but leg still bothering me.
7/24 Wed: 193.8, back on track with diet. 1:02 walk in the morning and leg feeling better, 0:40 on bike and treadmill at gym and then some golf time at the driving range. Pretty good day.

Round 266 ~ My Journey (Round 1) ~ Karla, 67 YOF, 5'4" ~SW: 221.5 lb. ~ US Size: xxl (22) ~ UGW: 145 lb.🤔🤔🤔Thoughts & Musings...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I normally log in as the last thing before bed to reflect on my day and to set a game plan for tomorrow. This is where I write it out, sort of journaling, sort of tracking, sort of a mental dump.
(Day 4) Wednesday- 07/24 ~ Todays weight DNW
Today did not go as planned. I slept for 12 hours, only to wake up having missed my PT appointment. Luckily there was a cancellation, and I did make it to an afternoon appointment. 1st day of therapy and it was not brutal but was eye-opening. The worst thing being when we took off the ace-wrap I have redness, slight pitting edema and pain down the shin bone. I sent pictures to the surgeon he will get back with me tomorrow.
Today, I am focusing on……………
Intentional movement: getting up and walking every hour or two with a minimum of 30 min. daily (in any combination of minutes/sessions).
Intentional eating: Recognizing the food on my plate, taking small bites, consciously chewing, tasting the flavor, feeling the texture and stopping before I feel full. Giving myself time to recognize the difference between hunger and satiety.
@quiltingjaine Thanks for continuing the challenges. Somehow I missed the next one you likely posted and couldn't find it. I went back and found it the hard way. Probably just me but just in case, here is the link for others.
Now I use one of the sugar alcohols with no complaints. The dietary limitations! When he went to an allergist, he was told to eliminate “apples, oranges, onions, garlic, and wheat” for 6 months. He/we did it but at the end of 6 months didn’t notice any difference.
@quiltingjaine Impressive the chocolate bar is still in the freezer. Bravo!
As for the allergist, interesting set of restrictions. Onions, garlic and wheat are in the same FODMAP group, apples are another, oranges had none. So, it does sound like they were targeting allergies like you were likely pointing out. Have you/DH ever looked into the low FODMAP protocol? There are 6 catagories of FODMAPS and there is a whole approach for determining if one has a sensitivity to one or more of them. I am rusty at this point, but I remember the basics. It is a PITA, but it can be eyeopening.2 -
@deepwoodslady LOL The link is on page 14 (on my phone) posted on 7/22 between 2 of your posts. Glad you were able to find it.0
7/16 222.6
7/17 222.2
7/18 221.2
7/19 222.2
7/20 222.6
7/21 221.2 ~ It actually feels weird to not track, not plan my meals. It's a little scary and challenging wondering what dinner will be and I'm missing my regular exercise. But these boxes though!! . But this morning, I'm going to take some downtime, enjoy a cup or two of coffee and catch up. Bear with me on my late responses.
7/22 218.4
7/23 218.4 ~ Not even sure how that happened.... I did resume my workouts yesterday, but only at about 75% of what I was doing before.
7/24 220 ~ lower than start... I'm good..2 -
@SModa61 At some time in the past I had read about FODMAPS but don’t remember why. I’ll have to refresh my memory. Thanks for the reminder!2
