Yes, I'm losing weight, might be just water weight, but I'll take it! Today will be day 7... I'll post me loss tomorrow
I’m with you! “just” water weight? I totally don’t care!!! I’ll take what I can get! Haha!5 -
Good morning group!
Today we are officially past the half way mark for August (by one day, lol)
I love hearing and reading everyones posts. Watching how others respond with helpful suggestions, stories of their own struggles or success and of course the stress breaker of humor ( @forestdweller1 ) thrown in to let us all know we are not alone here.

I agree, MissMay. I may not respond to everyone, but I read and appreciate EVERY comment!
No wine in the house = AF night for me last night. I got in bed around 8:00 because I'm so bored without sipping wine. I can only watch so much TikTok
Tonight is usually date night, but we're meeting friends Sunday night, so I'm going to skip tonight. He might still go alone, and that's fine. It keeps me from drinking.
Have a great day today and enjoy your weekend, everyone!

Had a glass of wine with dinner. Hubby had his pre-op appointment for the last stage of his cancer treatment and he is REALLY emotional about it. I decided he needed a large margarita. So, we went to dinner. He drank and cried all through dinner. He’s now asleep, and it’s only 7:30.9 -
@NonnieDoiron I wish your hubby and yourself the best 💖4

Well guess it had to happen, I really slipped up last night, and for no good reason (is there ever a good reason to drink?)
Tally: 6 AF / 1 A
@SurferGirl1982 , in 7 days I lost 3.4 lbs, might have been 4.2 or more if I hadn't gone off the rails last night!7 -
I had a really emotional afternoon, so I am coming here to read up on some of your posts, and I might also go to the 1st page to read some of the links. Without going into too much detail, my 2 sons and I are doing family counseling. The 1st session was 3 weeks ago, started off really rocky, but ended on a positive note. Today was the 2nd session, started off smooth, then ended badly, with 1 son walking out.
This has left in a very depressed mood, and that devil is telling me, this can be fixed with just a small drink. He's a liar and knows full well that this will lead me to several more, and I will end up feeling more miserable, not sleeping well, and awful tomorrow. That devil is tricky!!
I'm am happy that I can come here to talk about my feelings, and the struggles I am feeling tonight. Thank you for listening.11 -

Great weight loss! Sorry to hear that you slipped-up. I know how it feels. Like you told me, "If I slip-up. Just get back up and dust myself off". So you'll have to do the same. But with everything going on that might not happen tonight. Anyways, you got six AF days. That's something!
Just take it easy and try to have a good night!

Thank you @SurferGirl1982 !
I will not drink tonight.6 -
@looneycatblue Good for You 👍7

@looneycatblue my heart goes out to you during your counseling sessions. I was tricked once into "just accompanying" a relative to an appointment. As I sat waiting for them in the waiting area , they came out if their session to get me and take me in to be confronted by their therapist. AMBUSHED!
Take a big breath and yes it is only one day as @SurferGirl1982 said. You have been doing so well with your AF, I know you will be stacking up more LESS days.
Thank you @SurferGirl1982 for being there for @looneycatblue exactly when she needed support.

@NonnieDoiron what an emotional time for your husband(and you).
Nothing but positive wishes for you both right now. You sound like the rock he needs by his side.7 -
A bad trait I have is when I am taught a particular procedure in any work related job, I absolutely try to follow it.
In my new found work there are other employees that do not do that. Now granted they have been doing this for longer than I. But no where in the procedure learning did it ever give a time frame that you could stop following the rules.
As I make my way through the day I remind myself many things:
• I am only here to do my job, and do it well.
•I will not make under my breath comments hoping the irresponsible team member will "get the hint".
•I won't go running to my manager to squeak on the other slacker.
•I will try to be as kind as I can that person and not want to secretly wrap my hands around a section between their shoulders and head.
•I will not try to reward myself with alcohol that night after a stressful situation. That would only mask the pain and start a snowball drink fest.
Ok, good talk. I feel better.11 -
@MissMay That's a good attitude to have. Just do your job to the best of your ability. Don't let what others are doing stress you out.
PS...I'm a stickler for procedures myself. Another motto of mine is, "A place for everything and everything in it's place". It must drive my husband crazy 🤔5 -

Good for you @looneycatblue 😀
I measured myself this morning. I'm going to try to measure myself every Saturday or two. Since last Saturday, I've lost 1" from my bust and waist. And 1.5" from my hips.
I plan on reporting my weight every week. Which will be next Wednesday. But as of today, I have lost 7 lbs in 10 days. I lost pretty quickly the first few days and have slowed down a bit. But I'm still losing. I hope the weight loss continues. I'll keep all you posted 🙂10 -
Not tracking this month but I have had a lovely 3 AF nights in a row with the most amazing sleep!!!10
-
@NonnieDoiron Good luck to you and your husband. Take care of yourself!
@looneycatblue Good job abstaining!
@SurferGirl1982 You're doing great!
I've had 3 nights in a row AF. I almost lost the battle yesterday, but I held out again...lol. It was another grocery store trip that almost had me buying the BOGO wine, but I escaped with my dignity and had an AF night I don't know why it's so freaking hard!
We're meeting friends for dinner tonight. My goal is AF. I don't know if that's realistic.
