@trooworld Sorry you were miserable. Hopefully your doctor can prescribe something else. @theslightedgeforever The beet salad looks yummy! Hi, all. I had a great day today. I wanted around the track at the park plus it was nice being with my family. We had salad, sloppy Joe’s and sweet potato fries for dinner. It was so convenient having meals already prepared.0

Morning all, yesterday didn't go as planned. However, I did get 2 things I wanted to get done, done. So I feel it was a win. I am sitting on hold with my ins company..I was on hold all day yesterday and every time I would get someone live...I would get disconnected. UGH. I have been eating cereal late at night for dinner...it's been a weird week. My daughter made dinner night before last night...I took one bite of the noodle and got instant heartburn..so NOT...cereal is my friend. LOL. Last night I made pork chops and I don't eat pork, I retain too much water and feel miserable, so cereal again it was...
@trooworld that's good you get to hear soon about your surgery. You DH must be a saint or he loves his sister very much., OR the cat is a little terror at night because he knows no one is watching him/her. LOL. Wise choice to try not taking the med and see if your headache goes away. I like to self diagnose...
. Although my cardiologist was happy that I am only taking 1/2 of the med that he prescribed..
@fabgeekmom LOL the one thing that stuck in my brain was your sweet potato fries..YUMMMMMM. I love those. I just don't make them. Have your tried carrot fries? They are good too!
@theslightedgeforever Glad you got food and are working your plan...I am still not sure we are related...I could not eat what your picture showed...I know you are like mom and I am like Dad..LOL.

@trooworld It’s interesting that you didn’t have a headache when you stopped talking the medication. Too bad about the dogs and the lack of sleep. That’s exciting that you should know soon the surgery date. @cbabie The sweet potato fries were frozen so all I did was cook them in the air fryer. Yes, I’ve had carrot fries. Being on hold is really annoying. Too bad about the heartburn. Hi, all. I did a strength workout on Peloton this morning. I’m following a schedule for the next 6 weeks. I’m hoping to get stronger. I also walked the track. Dinner was the spaghetti 0’s. It was good. My daughter brought some candy when she and her family went shopping. I ate 4 pieces.1

@fabgeekmom The beet salad was good. Hubby especially liked it. Now you've made me want some sloppy joes.
@trooworld Sorry you didn't get alot of sleep. I don't seem to make good choices when I'm tired. I hope you do a better job. Your water intake is much better.
@cbabie If I didn't have hubby to cook for I would have cereal every night for supper. What do you think about the noodles gave you heartburn? Have you considered that the heartburn might be caused from something other than food? I looked to see and lots of different reasons. I thought you liked beets? I just airfryed them. Then added orange slices and some thinly sliced onions. Feta cheese and walnuts. Then I made a raspberry vinaigrette. I like all those things individually so I know I would like them together. I'm a visual person so used to be I wouldn't eat foods based on how they look. But now I'm learning to eat foods that are good for me. I don't want to be our parents.
Today I made a nice leek potato corn chowder. It was so good. Dd loved it so much she kept going back and I kept saying you'd better leave some for your dad. lol
Here's the recipe: https://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/potato-corn-leek-chowder
I had to YouTube how to clean and cut a leek. lol I've never used one before.
Today hubby and I walked around a lake for 54 min. Weather was really nice today.

@theslightedgeforever Walking a lake sounds like fun. That was a nice long walk! I never used leeks until I moved to a city and they were available. @trooworld A .5 gain isn’t bad. The noodles sound good. Hi, all. We went out to lunch today. DH and I shared a seafood steamer bowl. It was one serving but we had plenty. I worked out as usual and went for a walk this afternoon. The weather has cooled down and there was a nice breeze. My daughter and her family went home. DH and I are staying until Sunday. We’re eating sandwiches for dinner. I will also make a salad. I have calories for some kind of dessert.0

Good Afternoon all!
Can’t believe this is the last week of August! My next class starts up in mid October, tooth seems to be healing (still a little bit of a hole), but getting closer to being in the onederland club (6.7 lbs to go!). Doggies are doing good. The youngest had his annual and bloodwork this week just waiting on results. Aqua class is going great as well as Zumba. Eating has gotten better, still need to nix the ice cream but it’s a process lol.
Went to a local country fair with a new friend and actually won a couple of the carnival games. Told the new friend they are good luck! lol summer is nice but so looking forward to fall. Think the huskies are in the same boat as me.
Been cleaning all morning- trying to get some early fall deep cleaning and purging done. A family friend had read and posted on their Facebook about the book “The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning”. Ordered the book, haven’t read it yet but do need to purge stuff I don’t need nor want. Maybe make some $$ in the process. Still need to paint these walls. Have the paint but need to clean first.
Plan on checking in soon. Didn’t realize how much time had gone by been busy!
Hope all is well with everyone!

@trooworld It’s good that you have a diagnosis even though it’s probably not the one you wanted. My arthritis is probably at the same level but I get by with all the things I do. I hope you don’t have Covid but if you do, hopefully you can take the medication that is prescribed for it. @gemwolf110 It looks like you are doing really well! Hi, all. DH and I went to Wal-Mart this morning as since we are staying another day, we needed a few things. As usual we bought more than a few things! We bought a mini waffle maker so I can make waffles tomorrow morning. I bought some jeans for half price ($11). They were a bit snug but not tight. I’m hoping all my core exercises will help me fit better in my clothes. Dinner tonight is clean out the refrigerator, eating up what is left that I prepared last week.0

@trooworld Yes, I use a cane, and it really helps. I’m glad you feel better. Too bad about the knee and lack of sleep. Hi, all. I’m home now and glad to be home. DS grilled some chicken breast and we had salads for lunch. I worked out on the bike. I also did a lot of laundry. We ate dinner at my daughter’s house. She had chicken fajitas which were good. We came home and I ate 2 cookies and a piece of candy for dessert. Now we’re watching Good Bones. It’s a home improvement show and pretty mindless so it’s relaxing to watch.0

Morning all, sitting here on hold with the insurance company. this is 4 days into it..LOL. I had to look up on You Tube how to put my Iphone on speaker..LOL. I was tired of straining to hear the hold music...LOL
Not sure that I ate well, I didn't track, it was birthday day celebration for the 3 birthdays we have here locally in our family. I have 5 others that live out of town...A few adults were busy 9 months ago. LOL They are not all from the same couple...out of town ones include 1 brother, 3 nephews, and 1 would it be a great nephew? I am not sure what's that called..LOL
@trooworld glad you are on other meds, hope this one works and you don't have to go the surgery route. Hopefuly you didn't get covid, but rest is for sure the best medicine. I laughed to myself...You always love to do things in style...great job on the cane. I am sure my mom would have done the same thing if she knew those were available.
@gemwolf110 Sounds like you are doing great! I love to clean and declutter..makes you feel so accomplished.
@theslightedgeforever no we don't want to be like our parents...we want better for us and I am sure they would too...
cbabie1 -
@trooworld I’m sorry that you are still sick. The cane looks nice. @trooworld Being on hold is really frustrating. I know what you mean about birthdays. It seems we have a lot of celebrations back to back. My son is already talking about Labor Day and the cake he’s going to make. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. DH and I had to go to Sam’s Club to get our glasses so we did some shopping. We got salmon, ribeye steaks, croutons and the bread I like that sometimes is hard to find. I cooked dinner tonight: salmon in the air fryer, rice, and salad with homemade dressing. We have enough salmon to have for lunch tomorrow.0
-
@trooworld I hope you’re feeling better. Hi, all. The heat has come back but at least we don’t have the high 90’s. I went for a walk this morning before it got too hot. I also did indoor exercises. Tonight is family dinner night and I am making a Mexican spaghetti recipe that was on the spaghetti box. I made enchilada sauce, using a ST recipe. I hope it is good. It can’t be bad with pasta, pinto beans, the enchilada sauce and ground beef.0
-
@trooworld It’s good that you don’t have Covid. I can understand why you went to work. I hope you feel better soon. Hi, all. Everyone enjoyed the meal last night except I thought it was too spicy. My granddaughter said it wasn’t spicy at all. I guess I’m a wimp. I don’t even put pepper on my eggs. Today was a swim day. DH couldn’t go as he tripped over some tree roots and twisted his ankle. He has been icing the ankle and staying put. I think he’ll be okay. Dinner tonight was barbecue and stew DS made last Sunday and put in the freezer. He also made slaw.0
-
@trooworld It’s good that you can work from home. Hi, all. I walked outside even though it was hot. I also did my strength workouts and the bike. We had salad and pizza for dinner tonight. DS made and froze it last Sunday. Plus we had a small piece of really good chocolate for dessert.0

Morning all, I am still trying to get the routine down of getting myself ready, baby girl ready for school and all other things I have to do in the morning. So this communication got pushed back. Sorry for that.
I have been eating like a pig at night, not sure what is going on, but I have to stop it. I am doing another challenge starting next week. It's the one I do and I gain weight instead of losing weight. I guess I am a glutton for punishment. LOL
@fabgeekmom Sounds like you are very busy and yet staying on track. I am like you I don't use pepper or salt most of the time. I guess I just like bland. (not really). just don't like spicy, hot things. I was thinking of getting a bike, but I have decided to wait for a bit. You like yours?
@trooworld So sorry you have been so sick. No it's not normal to not have any energy like that. It could be a false negative on the covid. It's a good thing you can work from home and still keep your vacation time. LOL. It sounds like you may have found a solution to the meal situation. I hope it continues to work , sounds like a good plan to me
cbabie1 -
@trooworld I think you got good advice from the nurse. As @cbabie said, you probably had a false negative on the Covid test. Your meal plan sounds like a good one. @cbabie You have a lot going on! But try to find something to replace the night time eating. It sounds like you are self soothing with food. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. Tonight is steak night.0
-
@trooworld hope you’re feeling better. If it’s an older test and infected by a newer variant it may not be positive and give you a false negative. That’s what happened to my friend. Rapid came up negative, pcr was positive0

Hi all. I went to Minneapolis on Wednesday. I woke up this morning with my knee hurting. No idea why. If it's not my shoulder its my knee. lol Probably my body protesting saying just move. I think only day I went to the gym was on Monday. Tuesday I was hurting bad in upper body since I did heavier weights. Food has been not good. Although I did order the Black and Bleu Salmon salad at Mall of America. It's so good. I ate half. Also ate half of my biscuits and gravy at breakfast. There was a song in High School Musical that my daughter watched repeatedly called Get your head in the game. That's what I need to do.0
-
@theslightedgeforever I’m sorry about your knee. I know about knee pain. I hope you are feeling better. Yes, get back in the game! You’ve been traveling and eating good food so it is hard to get back to the routine. @trooworld That’s hard when you wake up so early. I hope you were able to rest today. Hi, all. This morning DH’s ankle looked really swollen so we went to urgent care. He has a hair line fracture and has to wear a boot. He got a referral to a walk in orthopedic clinic so we will go on Tuesday. Luckily he is not in too much pain. DS grilled chicken and made an eggplant dish. We ate it with pitas, lettuce, tomatoes and hummus. We have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.0
-
@trooworld All those recipes sound good. I’m glad you are feeling better. Hi, all. I went swimming today. We had chicken pitas for lunch. DS made enough chicken for us to have several meals. Tonight we are having the traditional Labor Day meal: hotdogs, hamburgers, etc. My cousin is bringing salad and I made homemade Ranch dressing. DS has made macaroni salad and chocolate cake. We have ice cream, too so it’s a calorie blow out. But good!0
-
@trooworld That was a lot to do! Pizza and salad sounds good. Hi, all. I’m sluggish today as I got up earlier than usual. I’m going to make myself get up and exercise. Lunch is a burger from last night and dinner is chicken from Saturday.0
-
@trooworld It sounds like you had a good day even though things may not have gone like you wanted them to. Hi, all. Today was a good day. I went swimming. DH made an appointment with the orthopedic doctor for next week. I cooked dinner tonight. It was really simple: grilled pork chops, salad, corn and a jicama salad. We had a small piece of really good chocolate for dessert. Luckily the cake is gone!0
-
@trooworld That’s too bad that you forgot your medication. It’s good that you had the cane. 2 ingredient dough is good. Hi, all. After breakfast I’m going to Sam’s Club. I usually go with DH but I’ll have to go by myself. Then I’ll get started on my exercise. It’s cool outside so I will go for a walk. Tonight’s dinner is leftover spaghetti sauce in the freezer.0

Morning guys, I have only a minute. Its been a week....baby in er for croup, I fell last night down the steps...knee went wrong way...Oh how fun life is. I will. try to get on here later, but I have to get baby girl up for school...smh. I am so over this. I just wanted you to know I am alive and am sorry I haven't been on here this week.
Cbabie0 -
@trooworld The party sounds like fun. Good luck with the ribs. Yum! @cbabie Sorry about the fall and the baby with croup. I hope you didn’t hurt yourself too bad. Hi, all. It’s still cool and fall like. I went swimming today. DH drove his truck for the first time. He said he didn’t have any trouble driving. Dinner was air fried shrimp, rice and broccoli. I was the cook tonight.0
-
@trooworld Wow, 100 degrees is really hot! I definitely would park myself in the room with AC. Hi, all. I walked outside today and it was nice out. I also did my strength workouts. Tonight DS is making ATK air fried chicken sandwiches and coleslaw. I made polenta and put it in a casserole dish so I can put it in the broiler.0
-
Afternoon all, I haven't done anything but sit mostly with ice on my knee. LOL. I am getting better slowly day by day. Baby is much better, thank the Lord. I can't stand when kids are sick...I feel helpless. I think it's been 3 months since I have "exercised". I am going to try to do arms tonight if anything...can't do any walking or anything that might tweak my knee..
@trooworld It was 100 last night about 10pm, so yeah I am with you on the hot and aren't we supposed to see fall soon? LOL
@fabgeekmom your dinner tonight sounds yummy, I love coleslaw. Glad you did your strength workouts..so important as we age.
Cbabie0 -
@cbabie I’m glad you and baby are better. Icing really helps. Upper body exercise would be good. Just try for a few minutes as a start. The coleslaw was good, especially since DS uses low fat mayonnaise and low fat sour cream.1

Hope you all are doing better. Doesn’t sound like a good week at all.0 -
I have no idea when the last time I checked in here. I know before Labor Day weekend cause my son came and visited us and here were are and it's Friday. Food has been so-so. Exercised on Labor Day and that's it. Wish I had better news. My hubby hurt his neck so I'm dealing with that. I'm not a good nursemaid. I don't think it runs in the family's genes. So I hope you all are doing better on your health journey than I did this week. Tomorrow is a new day. My plan is to eat a salad for lunch.0
-
Morning all, I am "walking" a little better today than yesterday. I realized yesterday that this is causing my back to be out of whack and I certainly don't want what I had a year ago. LOL So trying to be cautious and walk in a. normal way as not to get me out of whack any more than is possible. I think stretching is my focus today and upper arm. My daughter says your arms have good muscle..but that is just the biceps..(picking up heavy baby). LOL need to work the back flabby side.
@gemwolf110 thank you! I hope you have a good weekend!
@fabgeekmom I think I might have to make some coleslaw this weekend...my family loves it. I hope you have a good weekend.
@trooworld No way am I cooking until 1am....you are a better person than me. LOL. I hate when I have to go to the store to cook...Chicken burgers sound good. I am such a sandwich eater. I grew up on them..,my mom was not a cook. I remember my grandmother telling my mother how to slice an egg for deviled eggs so that it wouldn't roll and I was in my teens. No one had ever taught my mom and she hated cooking...(too much of a mess for a 15 min reason). LOL she didn't clean as she went.
@theslightedgeforever so sorry about dh neck..and yes we didn't grow up being nurtured. LOL. I don't think I can ever really eat salads anymore..I got so burnt out on them from when I was younger..the only ones I can do are salad and go. Love their harvest one.
