Total loss for September: Well... I gained back the half pound I lost the first week of the month as well as another half that was waiting for me hiding behind a door or something. I need to get back into the lower part of my maintenance range. I am NOT giving up!

    Stick to it!

My name is Donna. I am 64 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253 in 2016. My MFP start weight was 235 in 2018.

Ultimate Goal Weight: 145-155 (I’ll know it when I get there!)

    Start Weight (from Aug 29th, 2024 ): 190.0

Goal Weight: 186.0 (4 pound loss)

End of Challenge Final Weight: xxxxx

    Weight lost/gained this month: xxxxx

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

    09/01-

09/08-189.6-(Trend Weight: 190.9)- Down a tad from the start. I did some day travel yesterday (restaurants and sitting) and I have a two day trip beginning tomorrow for some important medical stuff so I don’t anticipate that this will be my best week. Tomorrow's trip comes but once a year. Thankfully, what goes up must come down so I will try hard to watch my p’s & q’s while I’m away and will work very hard when I get home to get back to routine. I’m from a very very tiny farming town so I must admit that I’m looking very forward to the city and all of its restaurant offerings. Not the best feeling to have when I’m trying to lose this spare tire but nothing I can't tackle later and overcome! Happy Sunday everyone!

09/15-193.2-(Trend Weight: 191.6)- Bad news-The scale is up after the medical trip/testing and I’ve got my work cut out for me. It’s been a struggle since I got home and out of sync. Good news-The Mammogram went well. I am still in remission on the cancer side and the suspicious side is remaining stable so I don’t have to go back for 1 year this time. The oncologist appointment went well too so fingers crossed! I have two separate days of travel next week but I hope I can make good away-from-home choices and keep it clean on my home days. The scale needs to go down, not up.

    09/22-xxxxx-(Trend Weight: xxxxx)-

    09/29-xxxxx-(Trend Weight: xxxxx)-

    09/30-xxxxx-(Trend Weight: xxxxx)-

Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

    Slow and steady, I guess?

Hit an emotional pitfall a few days ago. "Do I really want to bother? Even if I lose, I'll have to be diligent for the rest of my life to keep it off. Do I even want that stress? I'm barely losing now." Barely a month, and I'm struggling to stay positive.

Motivation? I have plenty. But having something, anything, that points to progress would be nice right now.

@wavybabygray I hear you and you sound a little discouraged. Someone once told me never give up, you are worth it. And we usually see results after small and steady changes over time. I always say I will see results in a few months for the choices I make today. Hang in there!

@wavybabygray It is really hard to be patient, and it is baby steps (and sometimes what feels like a long pause.) Your progress is that you continue to show up in spite of your frustration. And you're showing a commitment to yourself, and that's what is most important. It is a marathon, not a sprint.

I get very impatient, and recently read this post and found it quite encouraging, perhaps you will too. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10922383/patience-is-indeed-a-virtue

Let's just keep trying our best!

    Wednesday weigh-ins

September 3: 199.6 (I just got back from vacation so I wanted to see the damage this morning - I was 196.8 on August 28th)

    September 4: 199.2

    September 11: 198
I'm not losing the vacation weight like I'd hoped considering I ended August at 196.8. Frustrated, but reminding myself that 1 year ago today I started this journey at 241.2 lbs. I've lost 43.2 lbs. Could be better but still proud of the accomplishment!

September 18: 194.4 - Finally feeling back on track!
