    - Get it together
    - log food :frowning:
    - work
    - nails :(
    - bed

Work and bed were my only accomplishments yesterday. I did take mom to the grocery and to get smokes. I'm not a fan of her smoking, but at 72 I'm not gonna change her mind, and I'm not going to fight her. Finished fixing up her old car and am delivering it to my cousin's daughter Saturday. It isn't perfect and it has a lot of miles on it, but it runs well. Other than that Tim and I went out to dinner and played music bingo last night. I actually got the coverall, but someone was louder and they only give one prize. I did get e a consolation prize of a SEC Pint glass. We like pint glasses, so that worked.

Tried to give blood today (my work had a blood drive), but my iron was low even for me. Needs to be 12.5 and mine was 10.4 & 10.8 (they checked twice). Perhaps this is why I've been so tired. Guess I'll need to start taking my vitamins again. They are just so large, and leave a bad taste in my mouth. Oh well.

Tonight is our team trivia night, but I'm thinking of bailing out. I'm just so damned tired. Of course, If I'm home I'll be puppy sitting which is a level of exhausting all by itself.

    JFT Wednesday

Yesterday was ok, we did end up going to trivia, and we did well. We were in the running to win, but we didn't bet enough on the last question. Pupster woke me up extra early this morning, but I needed to be at work extra early so it worked out. Today will be his first visit to doggie daycare. He should have a good time unless he's too bitey and they have to put him in time out.

Happy dog & happy me.
    2) Turkey ole for supper / log all food / net calories green / 80 oz. water
    3) Done today: grocery shop / put clean dishes away (washed by hubby while I was gone, unbelievably) / bunch of finance tasks  happy me

    2024 Goals:
    1) Ultimate goal weight 150#... I'll be thrilled if I can get back down to 160# this year

    • Take measurements & log on MFP every month end
    2) Plan meals most days & prelog meals/snacks whenever possible on MFP
    • Try new recipes Unfortunately, no wall oven until mid-Feb or later & sad me, but try slow cooker & stove recipes... wall oven installed 2/26. Ppl
      * lentil rice sausage tortellini soup (internet) ~ very good, recipe is keeper

      * rhubarb cobbler (in my first ever cookbook BH&G) ~ very good, I want to try with other fruits this summer
      * yellow cake (BH&G cookbook) ~ I followed instructions closely & blended well, very good with rhubarb sauce
      * white chicken enchiladas (newspaper) ~ very good, although 2 tortillas with recipe as written 846 calories (created in MFP recipes)
      * Greek yogurt almond butter breakfast parfait (newsletter) ~ terrific, if high in calories... maybe tweak
      * garlic scape basil pesto (internet blog) ~ excellent! tried as recommended with pasta (used up my radiatore)
      * summer squash, zucchini, mushroom casserole (TOH) ~ excellent! & good way to use squash & zucchini
      * zucchini meatloaf (sister) ~ good but hubby prefers classic recipe

    2) Turkey ole for supper / log all food / net calories green ~ about 200 over, then ate pumpkin seeds / 80 oz. water ~ only 64 so not a great day :(
    3) Done today: grocery shop / put clean dishes away (washed by hubby while I was gone, unbelievably) / bunch of finance tasks  happy me
    4) Read / declutter 15 min. / other? tried to figure out features on new TV provider

    JFT 9/14 Sat.
    1) Min. 5000 steps
    2) Farmers market & meet up w/ PZ 9:00 / veterinarian anniversary open house 10-2 / church 5:00
    3) Donations to take advantage of matching funds / read / set alarm... I'm volunteering at the church parking lot for the Packers home game tomorrow (we're less than a mile from the stadium) / other?

Today has been a bit odd food-wise... latte with friend at farmers market, then small breakfast parfait & smoothie at independent book shop. Quick, light lunch at home, then walking taco & soft serve ice cream at vet's open house. I would be totally guessing for my food log, so I just won't. Log food again starting tomorrow.

    JFT? FAIL!
We have been without internet for three days now and no resolution. Monday the technician comes but almost everyone else in the area has had their service restored. I don't know why we don't but its been very frustrating.
Today was just flat messed up. I was going to walk the dog and then sneak away and have a relaxing me day, pick up a few items at the store , do a little retail therapy and then get lost in my favorite used book store . But mom needed help getting laundry done and then it seemed the morning ended up with one task needing doing after another. I rememberd our garbage was getting out of hand and we had to get to the dump while the hubby had to meet with a new client. So I got to make that haul. So much garbage when the household is now four of us with my parents here!

The parents met a sibling for dinner so we might try to sneak off for our own dinner tonight. I just ate a very late lunch but I figure I won't over eat at dinner that way. Maybe I will just drink my remaining calories I have left for the day at this point.. Just kidding. but I do expect to have a glass of wine atleast.

I don't think I posted at all last week. My house is quite chaotic at the moment, and I'm not managing to keep up with my routines which helped with exercises and logging. I've also had an issue that is pretty painful and stops me walking. I have booked an osteopath treatment for tomorrow. If that doesn't help I'll need to try and see a doctor.
So I think while the family are living with me I will be successful if I just hold my weight steady.

    JFt Monday 16th

    Do PF exercises
    Do general exercises

    Two Things:
    1) To turn my light off by 9:45 tonight. The last 4 or 5 nights I have been very stupid and haven't gone to bed at the right time. The consequence is that last night I laid awake for hours and could get to sleep until past 1 or maybe even later so I only got a little sleep. I am not looking forward to the headache I feel brimming.

    2) No outside food - restaurant or storebought.

I'm not posting goals or food today. I wanted to post that l walked the span of The Mighty Mac Bridge today, from north to south, and back again. Weather was fantastic. Fitbit has me at 23,641 steps. Here are some photos.
Ready to start 7:30 a m. Eldest brother, sister, youngest brother, his wife.
    33k2gpi2euke.jpg

On our way to the south end.
    mdq45ikvakol.jpg

    Me photobombing my brother.
    7ssce3wcdgqk.jpg

North end tower. Midpoint was between the two towers. We could see several people on the top of the towers.
    fdro5k65lmui.jpg

We reached the turn around point for the double crossers.
    3vw7c3ny9ymq.jpg

I handled the bridge height just fine. Totally unexpected and a bit freaky, we felt the bridge sway at several spots near the towers, apparently due to all the people walking.
    7ltm7jcwnphl.jpg

5 very happy and tired finishers.

Just seeing this, Carmella! How very cool! I love the photos. Would love to go there someday. You look wonderful and happy! ❤️

Only working 2 days this week and today is half way over. Yay! It will be a busy, but hopefully good week filled with good friends. Today after work, I'll go to moms, then I'll probably go to trivia tonight with hubby. Tomorrow after work I'm driving about an hour to meet old friends one of which lives 13 hours away the other only 2 hours, but for one night we are all meeting for dinner and drinks. Wednesday is my mom's birthday. She has a doc appt in the morning, then I'll take her out to breakfast if she's willing and maybe shopping. Thursday we are driving up to WVU to do a career fair for work then meeting friends for dinner. Friday is up in the air, maybe a trip to Pittsburgh to see my daughter, maybe dinner with different group of friends. Saturday we are going to a football game and Sunday we are heading home. Really kind of a whirlwind week, but I'm super excited to see everyone.

    JFT Monday
    - Puppy duty until 7:00 ish
    - Work by 8:00 ish
    - Work stuff
    - Check in with JFT MFP
    - Make a bill of sale for the car I gave away Saturday (so fun to give big gifts to deserving people)
    - Go to mom's - take her to buy smokes, pet food and sweet tea
    - Dinner and trivia with hubby
    - Home by 10:00
    - Bed

@PackerFanInGB Thanks for the comments. We had a blast walking the bridge, already thinking we will do it again!

JFT 9/16 M ~ Unseasonably hot here (upper 80s F) & a bit humid for mid-Sept. Having to set alarm all week to walk dog before too hot for us.
    1) Walked dog 3.42 mi :sunglasses: had 2 sandhill cranes fly in for landing right over our heads near the marshy spot, met up with Kim & Bogie, chatted w/ jogger lady & waved to RJ = happy dog & happy me
    2) Leftovers for supper / log all food / net calories green / 80 oz. water
    3) Cancel AT&T/Directv account (hubby has to request since he is lead name on the account) / wash dishes / catch-up Daily Bible (fell behind over weekend) / read / choir rehearsal 6:30 / call Mom / other?

Had a great time working the church parking lot (half mile from Lambeau Field) for the Packers game yesterday morning. But hot! Glad there was a little shade from trees at both entrances. We met two guys from Thunder Bay, Ontario! Even a few Colts fans. Everyone was very friendly. Some asked if the weather was typical for mid-Sept. and we told them definitely not (more like low 70s F). I walked through the lot at least 3-4 times counting the available spots, because church members were coming & going for our three usual morning services. One of the volunteers asked if we could park vehicles on the grass next to the lot, so he directed drivers as they backed in and parked, about a dozen extra cars. We watched quite a few private jets coming in to land at the airport several miles away, even saw the Colts team owner's plane, which we knew because the bottom was painted blue and had their horseshoe logo. We could hear the National Anthem playing at the start, saw & heard the fireworks go off, and watched the fighter jets do the flyover. Then we packed up and went to our own homes to watch the game on TV. LOL

    About me:
    I'm Carmela
This is my lifestyle. It's. Not. A. Diet.
    Height 5'4"
    66 yrs old
Reside in Green Bay, WI, USA

    2024 Goals:
    1) Ultimate goal weight 150#... I'll be thrilled if I can get back down to 160# this year
    • Post weekly weigh-in on MFP for accountability. Saturday a.m. is my "official" weigh-in day, and I track daily on a separate app (for the visual). My digital scale only shows half pound increments & I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale.
      * glazed lemon cookies (internet search) ~ everyone loved them at Easter dinner
      * moussaka America's Test Kitchen tv show ~ very tasty, nice size portions & filling, though complicated with four distinct layers & many prep steps ~ nice to have an alternate eggplant recipe
      * peach cobbler (BH&G) used qt fresh peaches grown in Ripon
    3) Exercise 5-6x per week (minimum 4x):
January: 5 days x2wks, 4x1, 3x1, 1x1 [1 wk lots of snow & 1 wk bitter cold so shoveling, treadmill & PT, 1 wk 4 day trips out of town]
    February: 6 days x1wk, 5x1, 4x1, 2x1 [2 wks overnight trips to visit parents]
March: 5 days x1wk, 4x1, 3x1, 0x1 [ack... prep house & food for Easter dinner; 1 wk overnight trip to visit parents]
April: 4 days x2wks, 3x1, 2x1 [lots of lousy weather, plus 1 wk overnight trip]
May: 6 days x2wks, 3x3 [fit days in around 2 overnight trips & visit on Mother's Day]
    June: 6 days x1wk {including Bellin 10K}, 5x1, 2x2 {either very rainy or hot for 2 wks}
    July: 5 days x1wk {including Packers 5K}, 4x2, 3x1 {a lot of very hot/humid days}
    August: 5 days x1wk, 4x2, 1x1 {hot/humid & scheduling conflicts}

    • Walk dog 3-4 miles, treadmill when necessary in winter, weights/my home version of circuit & other x-training
    • PT (physical therapy) exercises to strengthen arthritic knees & hip flexor
      Jan 4x; Feb 1x; Mar/Apr 0x; May 1x; June 4x; July 1x; Aug 1x; Sept
      4) MapMyWalk app You Vs. the Year 1,024km challenge started on Jan. 1
      • In 2023 I logged 726.88 miles, or 1,169.8 km & completed yearly challenge 11.14.23 :star:
      • In 2022 I logged 500.4 miles, or 805km (knee issues).
      5) At least 7,500 steps per day
      • I can earn $10 every month on my Medicare Advantage Plan with 10+ days of 7,500 steps [noticed 7/12 that requirement reduced to 5,000 steps, but I'll continue with goal of 7,500]:

      6) Participate in my favorite area races ~ I walk, I do not run

Hi everyone! I know it’s late, but need to make this a habit and be accountable. I had my 3-month CT scans today, so I’m waiting to see the report come through in MyChart. Of course, we are praying no return of cancer. It’s always an anxious time the week or so leading up to scans, so I’ve been emotionally eating a lot of “junk” food. I get so mad at myself when I do that because if my goal is to get healthy and try to stay cancer free, then why the heck do I not make healthier choices? Tomorrow is my maintenance treatment and Wednesday I am having a root canal, so it’s a week of medical appointments…oh the joy. 😬😂😉

It’s summer hot weather in WI today, so I know I won’t want to take a walk this afternoon. Grandson has a soccer game this afternoon also. I don’t know if I’m going…I want to, but I didn’t sleep well at all last night so playing it by ear.

I joined the LiveStrong program at the YMCA last week. There’s a group of 8 of us, 4 men & 4 women. On Monday we introduced ourselves and went over paperwork, and Wednesday they tested our strength and balance to get a baseline fitness level. It was a lot of fun and I was so bummed I have to miss already today and Wednesday! It’s only a 12 week program so I want to get all I can from it. We get a free membership to the Y during the duration of the program too so that’s nice. I’ve never been an exerciser or someone who works out, so I’m looking forward to learning how to use the various machines and building my strength back up.

@mytime6630 I hope you had a nice visit with your high school friends! I seem to remember you get together every year, don’t you? I hope your daughter is doing well. 🫶

@Bex953172 How did Marley like her headphones? I’m glad you were able to get yourself a little something also.

Hope everyone has a great day!

    Just For Today:
    1. 24 hour plan and assess. ⭐️
    2. Journal food and close diary at end of the day. Check in with MFP JFT and update.

She loves her ear defenders. And she does well with not using them all the time. She truly does just use them when she needs them
Glad I got them because she said her classroom is alot noisier than last year 😂 I'm still waiting for the next stage of her assessment.
I think I got a letter in June? Saying it's a 5 month wait for an appointment.

I hope she passes the next test though, be more straightforward that way.
She had her first lot of homework last night, 3 sheets.
    We got one done.
She lost her mind doing her spellings lol!

But I had to explain to her that IF she does have ADHD (because I've told her we don't know for sure until the Dr says so) then she will need to take breaks doing her homework because it will overwhelm her.

Glad I did all the research on it, I really feel I can help her!
Then I need to see if I can get myself diagnosed. Just want to sort her first though.

@PackerFanInGB Good luck with your results! I really hope you get the results you want!!

Haha I don't know why I self sabotage either!! Bad habits die hard!

I have been doing "bits" though. A little bit of logging here and there which I guess is better than nothing!

    I'll get there!

Gym has stayed pretty consistent, and I'm doing more cardio now. This week I might only get one day in though because we've got a busy busy week.

I am having a hard time keeping up with everyone's updates this week but looks like everyone has alot going on. I also have a bit of a chaotic house.. kinda like @littleblackskirt mentioned.

Getting out of the routine is apparently something that I don't do well with.
Still dealing with no internet. Hoping the tech comes out today. They were supposed to be here yesterday and then the damn company auto cancelled the appointment. SO FED UP with this company right now. Not much I can do either as no other providers have service up here. We have never had internet out for this long.

    JFT Tuesday
Get my HIT workout in- DONE(up at 5:30 am and done by 7 am)
    Hit protein goals 113 g
Pray that internet guy shows up and issue is resolved
    Laundry
    Bed by 9:00 pm
Work day should be light today - not alot of meetings

Mom is starting to slow down mentally and physically. I need to get her back on Medicaid so we can get some in home health care, but there are barriers. I think I can get past them, but it will take some time. Yesterday I tried to teach her to answer her phone. I'm not sure she got it. Then her neighbor said she lost her charger. I'll need to get her a new one tomorrow after her doctor's appointment. It's sad to watch her shuffle around confused. She has really declined in the last year. I'm not sure of the next steps.

Meetings at work, then off to see my friends.
