Mini goal: To cont. tracking for the next 11 days to get through this 2 wk detox and have better gutt health on the other side.3
-
Gained 10lbs because I stopped tracking my calories and drinking alcohol.
I started on a 90day alcohol free challenge and counting calories.
I am already down 8lbs and feel amazing.
Alcohol is the devil within!7 -
My mini goal is to track my food and exercise every day for 2 weeks. Then I'm going to reward myself with a mason jar cold brew coffee maker!5
-
185 currently, after being 256. Looking to get to 180 and stay below. Def looking shredded.6

My mini-September goal is to lose 4lbs. I want to go to Hawaii for Christmas and not have to buy new clothes. I gained 20lbs and can no longer fit my summer clothes!!!!!5

Wow! I'm really SO proud of myself! I hadn't weighed in over a month and was expecting the worst. I've maintained at 142 pounds! Just EIGHT pounds from goal weight. I've ACTUALLY LOST 25% of my body weight in almost two years 🙃. Of course I continue to get more positive comments. My dental hygienist noticed more pounds lost last week.....and I see her every three months. I was wearing a bulky sweater so I was quite surprised!! A friend said I was so much noticeably smaller and thought I could stop now. My doctor and I both feel a weight at mid 130's however is best for me. My next Mini Goal is 138 to 140 pounds for the end of November......two months. I'd love to reach my 50 pound weight loss goal by then, but I'm so close. At this point, maintaining and health are more important.10

Way to go @spirittrail Your progress & attitude are inspiring.4

Lots of love back to you @takinitalloff 😍 I pray your surgery was successful 🙏 and if it is still forthcoming......that you are taking good care and prepping yourself for a healthy surgery as per doctor's orders.
The last 22 months have gone by quickly and I still remember how it felt to carry an extra 40plus pounds.
Overall, I am most thankful that I lost it slowly as I do not have loose skin on my body and my face does not look gaunt. Everything slowly tightened up.....and I look younger. It's still a bit of a miracle to have just one chin, a tight neck, and cheekbones! 😆 In my previous post, I had mentioned the struggles I was having mentally adjusting to weighing less than 150 pounds. A place I haven't been in 24 years. I'm especially thankful I was kind to myself. In the last 2 weeks, by staying away from the scale, I mentally adjusted to the weight I was carrying. In fact, I have experienced a new mental shift and already I know that I am excited to continue. I am excited to lose my final 8 to 10 pounds....and get into the 130s. Between 60 and 61 kgs. I fully expect another "panic" session at 138/139 pounds.....lol.
My advice is as solid as ever. Consistency over speed!! Better 20 to 30 pounds per year lost PERMANENTLY and to allow your mind to adjust. It will NOT want to go back if you lose weight this way. Would YOU want to restart Grade Two again after completing Grade Six? 🤣 (ie relearn to read and write?).6 -

I’ve done it! I’m chasing the next mini goal of 85kgs. My weight loss has slowed some, so realistically I’m looking at end of September beginning of October for that 🙂 really really pleased
The end of September is almost upon us and I’ve lost the grand total of 700g 😂 but I did it without any real focus, so that’s kinda nice?
Still chasing 85kgs -> probably end of October. Figuring out how to make exercise fit into my new schedule with my new job

10 pound loss by December16

1 - Being at least 10lbs less than my husband
2 - Getting my lipids and sugar numbers down!

I have some tailored trousers that were made for me at my lowest pre-pregancy weight, the skinny fit pair is still too tight to be comfortable, but I'm back comfortably in the other two pairs. Two down one to go!8

I have no mini goal at the moment. Save me save me save me.
I'm just plugging away for now. Work is going to get really unbearable for the next two months (like, "3 days off a month" unbearable), so I'm just going to keep my head down, keep going to the gym a couple nights a week, and just... pray I can make it to December without completely crashing.
Also, I lied: my mini goal for the next month or so is to close the colorful rings on my fancy watch everyday. (And not, you know, collapse from overwork.)8 -
@wavybabygray Good luck with those next two months! Maybe you could aim to do something nice for yourself once or twice a week, to help you keep your sanity? Just a moment of quiet maybe, or whatever you enjoy that doesn't take up too much of your energy!4

I got back on Monday and the morning after I was up 1.9kg compared to just before vacation. Today (Sunday) I’m back at my pre-vacation weight as things have levelled off. I’m very pleased with both the activity level and food choices during our holiday. While we had gelato almost every day I only bought “small” and I tried hard to make sure every hotel breakfast focused on healthy components and not eating all the treats every morning.
Looking at that 91 kg - only 2.5 kg away.

Hi! I'm similar! At the beginning of June I was at 68 kg. Literally June 1st. Its now last day of September and maintaining at 64 kg very easily. My ultimate goal is between 60 to 61 kgs.
I started almost two years ago in the 180s.....pounds.....and have made slow simple/moderate changes and the needle has ALWAYS moved down. Never gained back. I lost 4 kilos in 4 months so would suggest that as a realistic goal if you don't want to continue to fight. Make keeping OUT of 69 kg your goal.....not the other way. Focus on getting the junk out of your diet and adding water. Remember....VERY IMPORTANT....your body loses the hard fat surrounding your organs FIRST. THATS THE MOST IMPORTANT!!! ONCE YOUR ORGANS ARE HEALTHIER, IT MOVES ON TO YOUR "SOFT FAT",
YOUR BODY.
so don't stress about outer appearances now. Your goal is to GET AND STAY HEALTHY. celebrate your weight loss......eyes forward.....and eventually your soft fat will start to dissolve. Once you realize the damage caused by yo yo diets, you'll be very motivated to be patient. I understand it's easier to climb being lighter.....so focus on building strength in arms and shoulders to help you. Muscles will help speed up your soft fat loss.
You've got this!!!!4 -
I have 35 lbs to get back to my healthy weight. I have Yo Yo'ed for years along with binge eating. I gave up alcohol three years ago and the stress of my son passing put me in eating over drive. I need to train my body for normal eating patterns again.8
-
My first mini goal was 10% of my body weight. I did that, and the next goal was to get my BMI below 40.
A few days ago, I hit that goal, so my next mini goal is to reach the loss of 15% of my body weight. 4 pounds to go!
I have planned out a whole series of little goals over the course of this year. The little victories keep me motivated!
My first "medium" goal is to lose 50 pounds by 7 Sept for a big event. That milestone will also put me at 20% of my body weight lost. 33 down. 17 to go!
Quoting my own post to say that I met my next mini-goal of losing 15% of my body weight. Woohoo!
My next mini-goal is to have lost 40 lbs. by the time I leave to visit my family on July 8th.
3.6 pounds to go!
I just squeaked that one in, having lost exactly 40 pounds by July 8th! My next mini-goal was my previous "medium" goal of losing 50Lbs by 7 Sept for a big event. I think I can do it, as I only have 4.5Lbs to go and 6 weeks to do it!
I did it! I have officially lost 50lbs, 20% of my body weight, and also entered ONEderland! 🙌🏼
My next mini-goal will be 25% of my body weight. I’d like to hit that goal by Halloween. 👻 That’s 1lb per week so I’m hoping it’s completely doable.
Mini-goals make the journey so much more fun! I like looking at the next little hill instead of the whole mountain, and celebrating little victories along the way.
Today I have officially lost 25% of my total body weight! I had set this goal to achieve by Halloween and I did it a month early. Woohoo! 63 pounds gone!
Next mini-goal for me is going to be to lose 30% of my body weight by Thanksgiving. That should be a little tougher because my weight loss is slowing down as I have less to lose, so that means I have to lose 13 pounds in two months. I only lost 5 pounds in September, so this time I am making it more challenging for myself. Let's do this!8 -
Morning!
Great goals and inspiring me to my mini-goal, which is to fit into my jeans by Christmas, which is about 15 pounds away. I've got them wrapped in Christmas paper already and it will be my gift to myself--even if the jeans are old ones! They are my favourite jeans and I think that will be a good goal.
My days are fine, it's the nighttime eating which knocks everything out of whack so the goal is to get that under control and I think the weight will start to move.7 -

Hey thanks for this response very helpful i never thought about it that way "keeping OUT of 69 kg your goal" I really needed to hear that thanks. I think like most people this is the hardest bit being "very motivated to be patient." Best if look on your journey too5 -

After a successful 2023 when I lost 47 pounds in 9 months (245-197), I really struggled for most of 2024. The lowest I got was 182 in June, another 15 pounds. But then I got lazy with my eating habits and stopped tracking and was eating a lot of high carb foods (i.e. sugar). I ended up gaining back 26 pounds (208) in a few short months, most of it from snacking in the afternoons. Even though I would start every day with solid intentions of getting back on track, I would lose it between lunch and dinner. After a dr. appointment on Sep 5 where my a1c went from 5.7 to 6.6 I told myself I needed to get back on task or I would be back to where I started in April 2023 at 12.6 a1c and all the weight gained back.
So, it took me until 9/26 to really get my head straight and I think I am back on track (4 days with no blow outs). So, my first mini goal is to get back below 200 pounds and get my daily average blood sugar down below 110 by Oct 30.
My biggest challenge is to be patient and focus on overall health and wellness and not on the number on the scale, and not set expectations so high that I get discouraged when the scale doesn't move as fast as I think it should. One day at a time.7 -

Thank you!! Once I learned to be patient it was SO much easier!! Too many times we focus on getting results quickly and forget the journey. You've done AMAZING!! give your mind a chance to get comfortable with being at 68 kg for a while. It's an admirable weight! When it's gotten used to carrying g around 5 fewer kilos, it will be ready to adjust and begin again. But yes....keep out of 69 kg is your goal. Don't make this hard on yourself.0 -
@cmoak54 I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling. I'm down 42 pounds in just under 2 years. I felt slower was better in the long run. You say you gained back 26 pounds in a few months, where my philosophy is that amount of weight lost in one year is admirable and more likely to stay off. You may want to consider adjusting expectations to a max of 30 pounds per year. If you lose it in less than one year, focus on maintaining it until you've passed your one year anniversary.
I initially found the scale distracting....so I threw it out!! I live two blocks from a Community Centre which has a nice accurate scale. At first, it was a way to get some exercise AND weigh myself. I still do this but since I have completely changed how I eat and even get in daily exercise....I often forget to weigh myself! So when I do it's always a nice surprise!! I sometimes even forget to add my exercise in MFP now! Weight loss is a long term endeavor so habits must be changed slowly in order to keep it off. I also recommend a plan for a *red light* weight that you will NEVER reach. This will change as you go and allow you to shift to maintaining more frequently. As your body and mind adjust to the new number, it will reset its setpoint...making it harder to gain weight. If you take measurements as well, you'll also see improvements.3 -
Mini goals...coming back to mfp in autumn...not the first time...one of my best seasons to lose...weather's nice enough, stuff to get done before winter in the yard; so...basics: more water & moving, & logging food and checking in on groups, setting up a good base level of habits; also 90 in 907

I don't want to deal with returning a couple of flannel shirts I ordered online because they are a little snug. (plus I don't want to admit that I actually need yet another bigger size). So the mini goal is to fit in them. I need a kick of motivation again, so I'm hoping this can be it.

For me it’s about lowering my triglycerides, my good cholesterol is high so my doctor tells me not to worry but that’s not the point, I still think it should be in the normal range. My goal is to stop eating bad carbs, like bread and rice.4

It's the start of a new week for me . I'm going back to basics for this week....which I simply call "Showing up" .Once you grow the habit of showing up every day it's easier to build on that.
So exercise for 15 minutes every single day for me. Not hit the gym, just exercise for 15 minutes. I noticed I only moved five days last week so by making this a mini goal, I am accountable to call it an exercise session. And by making it 15 minutes, I know I can easily find a way to do so. Going for a walk, doing Yoga With Adriene or 15 minutes on my Eleptical machine while watching a reality show are painless and fun ways for me to add some oxygen to my blood. 15 minutes daily adds up to almost 2 hours a week! If you add in time spent vacuuming, gardening or climbing the stairs in a week or walking from your car.....you can probably push it to 2 hours. 😉7
