I missed one day of exercise so I'm continuing with another week of 25m per day I am 90 calories short of my goal....argh. In other news, for the first time......I gained weight and took it badly. Mind you, I realized I was overreacting the very next day when a photo popped up in my phone from exactly 11 months ago. November 3/23. I looked at it, realized while most people would charitably call me "chubby" or "a bit heavy", I have learned a lot this year. I would honestly call that girl obese because it doesn't take much. So I checked my BMI chart. Yes! I had been Obese by three pounds!! Back then, I would have been saying, Im so close to Overweight!!

Rechecked my current weight.....I'm still "Normal" with one pound to spare! Lol How much weight did I gain in 10 days??? 4 ounces!!!! 😕 That picture popped up at the perfect time!! I can lose 4 oz in 2 weeks!! ☺️ In exactly eleven months I have lost 36 pounds.....that includes my recent 4 oz gain. 😊

I posted about the stalls lately. They are rough. I have been locked in place another week dropped 2 lbs in 3 days. I feel like there is another one coming because i haven't got enough sleep the last few days. I've had upshifts of up to 4lbs. It really is frustrating when you didn't do anything. You just gotta say "self" did i eat 15k extra calories yesterday... no i did not so those 4 lbs are not real or an adjustment up from retention of water.... Remember a cup of water is 8 ounces. So 2 cups is an extra pound. I used to beat people at weight loss challenges in the Navy by drinking 2 gallons of water before weigh in and taking a water pill before the final weigh in. They were always mad because... how did you lose 24 lbs and keep eating like that.
    Stay strong.

Looks like you have something fun to work on - not overreacting to the scale! It will go up and down. Just does that. Overall keep the trend in mind and yeah a quarter pound could be from an extra sip of water or salt or.... This is why I like to weigh daily and kind of ignore the one-day number and instead focus on a rolling average. I had a gain of two whole pounds one day last week. My average that day actually DECREASED a tenth of a pound because of the trend. Super helpful!

Can you explain your daily posts? What are total calories? What are base calories? How are these daily updates related to mini-goals? What are the mini goals?

Thanks for helping me understand what you're posting.

    STICK TO IT!

I would assume their base calories are their daily goal and they are shaving 290 calories off it for a loss of an extra lb every 10 days. Or that is their maint and they will lose 3 lbs a month.
    "Hello everyone,
My name is Sonia... According to this site, I should track 2100 calories for monthly weight loss per the year.." it took a bit of cyber stalking but ya 2100 is the goal.

Current mini goal is maintain daily walking to shave a lb a week. I'm already 2 to 3 lbs in def every day. Getting married in late December. I cant conceivable go below 300 by then now but i'll be in that last 10 lb.
Todays 5 week says 306 but the calories are a bit low today like 1650 so will probably eat something when I go home.

@trixsterjl31 Hugs!! Thank you! I felt silly posting about my 4 ounce gain.but the reason was actually two fold......1)Appreciate exactly where you are, especially if you've lost weight. A photo of myself weighing 36 pounds more, less than a year earlier was all I needed to remember my work these last 11 months HAD a beginning. Once I started down this road, I fell in love with the scenery, the "new cuisine", I had forgotten the "me I left behind". She popped up to cheer me on and remind me where I'd come from, and I was SO GRATEFUL she did. Lol I know EXACTLY what caused those 4 oz! I eat very differently now....but I made pasta dishes twice in one week. A veggie lasagna and a spaghetti and Meatballs dinner. We eat small portions which leaves me stuck with leftovers. So that week, I ate pasta for lunch EVERY DAY....even breakfast once or twice! And that's with very little cheese Honestly, I was upset because it is LITERALLY the first time in 11 months the scale has climbed,,,,even just ounces, and I just know it was ALL that pasta! 😩 It takes so much time to lose weight...I hate taking one step back. 😘

@mtaratoot Hugs!! Actually, I AM having fun on this journey because like others, I have failed before. I have had strong reasons to lose weight before....but this time, I was just tired of being in the 180s for so long....and celebrating when I dropped to the high 170s.....only to climb again to the 180s
It was getting frustrating really!! I could NOT SHAKE OBESITY! i'm only 5'4" so it doesn't take much. Maybe even only 5.3".5! Overweight for me doesn't kick in until 174 lbs. I did a lot of mental preparation first. I remember going to football games and they flash the players stats.....height and weight. My first goal REALLY was to weigh less than a football player who came up in the high 180s I was embarrassed we weighed the same! I never passed 190 lbs....but it was time to get out of that self imposed ceiling. I purposely went slow because I rather it stay off than keep bouncing. I mention yoga because it works to burn the fat and increase strength without lots of pounding....I also like walking. Now that I'm Normal weight, I'm going to slowly reintroduce aerobics for 25 to 30 minutes this week....just once to start. Exercise can't be rushed. Do what you can, start where you are is NEVER MORE TRUE than with weight loss. The same with gradually changing your eating. Sugar, processed food and fried foods are the worst. But like any drug, you need to wean yourself off slowly if you do it slowly, you'll never go back and your weight will naturally lower. For me, I got tired of "fighting^....and I think if people reach the point of feeling like a true change is necessary and they don't get discouraged.....anyone can do it! One great motivator is seeing family or a friend once per year. If you don't already, call one, see them and make it a biannual or annual visit. It will keep you going if you realize you made a pact to drop just one size or 10/20 pounds every visit! Their shock and surprise will make you SO PROUD OF YOURSELF!!

My mini goal this week is excellent nutrition, yoga and cardio to boost my energy. Lots of work stress and trying to counteract mindfully and willingly!!

    5) Celebrate #3 by spending money. I'll need a new wardrobe...happy problems.
right. I put 2 pairs of shorts and a Hawaiian shirt and a dress shirt in my amazon cart 3 sized down from the last time i bought clothing on amazon (well shorts). Then i went to check out and i was damn 125 USD. I was damn and didn't pull the trigger but 32 dollars is not a lot per item in the us for nice looking clothing. Ya i can get gym sorts and t shirts for 10 bucks...

My mini goal is to stop what's happened the last week. After a very successful October, November came in like a lion. I will call it a "break" and get back after it for the rest of the month!

Does that mean no more bagels? No it doesn't. But maybe fewer of them. Maybe less pasta with olive oil. More roasted vegetables. And I have a whole lot of chanterelles to cook and eat. I'll save a bunch in the freezer, but I still need to cook 'em.

This is why diet is what you eat not something you do for a while. When you talk about what a cat eats you talk about it "diet". When you talk about diet as a human you normal mean you are making a temp change.
Diet has to be something you can live with. Some times you will have events and do w/e is there, but on 9/10 days stick to how you eat. That means deciding what you have to have to be happy and work it into you what you eat. Be honest with yourself. If you are like you me you can eat a whole bag of doritos. If i need them then when i get the bag i break it up into 20 baggies so that when i pull some out i get a serving and not a bag.

Yes, well my diet was such that I was working steadily back towards my ideal maintenance range in October, and so far the last week it's been such that I'm moving away. The good thing is I know what to do, and I will do it! My diet will need to have fewer calories and/or more activity so that the balance goes back to where I'd like it for now. And yes, I did have a bagel yesterday. I also had a lot of mushrooms, and I'll be working on those more today when I get back from my volunteer shift at the aquarium.

What I'm focusing on right now: 1) Sleep! Getting my behind in bed before 11:00 so I get my 7-8 hours. 2) Tracking consistently. Well, consistency period! 3) Doing at least a bit of strength training and stretching for flexibility daily. 4) Talking nicely to myself! If I wouldn't say it to someone else, I shouldn't be saying it to me!
