Michelle (Ala) love the Cairn Terrier.

Watched a you tube interview on the importance of nitrous oxide for our bodies last night. Because it is a gas their is no reliable test for it. If you are low in it symptoms may show you are low in it. Vascular issues and high blood pressure (anything over 120/80) are two such symptoms... Why it is so important is it keeps our vascular system healthy. Unhealthy think heart attack, dementia, stroke. Age can also be a factor in low levels.

Ways to keep levels up...diet. Beets and dark green veggies think spinach, arugula...Remove over processed food from your diet...Breathing through your nose...hence the mouth taping and breath strips at night for me...exercise -resistant training and activities that get your heart pumping.

Two habits that decrease nitrous oxide...over use of mouthwash and Fluoride... I chew on cloves or rinse with a solution of baking soda and water if I want to freshen my breath...I haven't used Fluoride toothpaste in years... I filter my water to remove Fluoride. Often bad breath is a sign of trouble in your gut. My DH had this and would not believe me what a problem it was. I believe if he had addressed this his cancer might have been avoided and or easier to manage. The problem with mouth wash and fluoride is they disrupt the microbiome in your mouth. Chinese believe a healthy mouth is a healthy you. They also discussed the effects of low grade infections in your mouth. If you have had a root canal, so far I have not, it is important to monitor that tooth or teeth because the blood supply and nerves are gone and if an infection is going on it that tooth you will not feel it nor blood cannot get to that area to combat the infection. If there is a silent infection and it is properly treated it can make a tremendous difference in your health.

The number one culprit that causes tooth issues cavities and gum disease is sugar. I have drastically cut my sugar consumption.

Nitrous Oxide puts a person to sleep.

You might mean nitric oxide, which may be found in vegetables.

Good morning, Friends. I have had a challenge from a parent who demanded the charge nurse to assign me to her child. Then she asked for my number, and I said, "No, Mam." I explained that it was against the rules She didn't want me to leave and had me looking at pics on her phone Last night she wanted me to go in the bathroom with her to look at her butt cause she is bleeding I told her I would watch her child, while she goes to the ER I explained that I am not a proctologist Then she told me that she brought her chart if I needed a refresh of her history I told her I am here to care for her daughter not her She said that I always set her straight even in November 13, 2022 when I first cared for them She asked if she could call me Ti-Ti or Grandma I told her that she could call me Monique or Mo My friend use to help me get out of the room in the past and then she would get stuck So I had to tell my co-workers to help me if I was gone too long (they didn't) I got out late, and the day shift laughed at me Her daughter is so sweet Then the woman asked if I could cook her a meal today and bring it in I told her no My meals are pre-planned, so I do not have to cook when I am working So, I have a challenging weekend I did have a cute baby to care for, but the mom didn't share The other one, the mom and I got along well.
I wonder if I am getting mean at my mature age. I am very protective of my time, and my neighbors want me to hang out with them individually—especially the one who smokes. I stayed with her when she fell until AMR arrived to get her up. I can't tolerate cigarette smoke due to my asthma.

DH called and gave me the best news on my way to work. He called my mom's nursing home, and they love my mom so that she can stay. She will be in assisted care living, and she gets to keep her room. The cost will be less, too. I would rather pay the same because I appreciate this. Now, we need to figure out about my MIL.

Vicki, enjoy your day off. You deserve it.

Allie, can you take Coricidan? It is supposed to be the choice for heart patients.

Lisa, my dad had a stroke when they did an angiocath on him when I didn't want the docs to. I cried and told him I would move to California to care for him, and my kids could attend my childhood school. He told me that he couldn't live like that. I argued that he could. Then he went into a coma and died a few days later. I wonder if your friend's dad is fighting for his independence again.
Your granddaughter is so pretty. I love her smile, too. I wanted braces so badly when I was a teen. All I needed was a retainer. It seemed like the popular kids had them. There was the cheerleader who had an underbite, and I would hold my mouth like hers. I would ask my dad how I looked, and he said I looked crazy. It is so funny how we looked at things back then. My son needs braces, but he wants Invisalign.

Michelle in NC, you are so right. Now I don't have a problem with my teeth. I will check with the dentist anyway. How are you doing?

Machka, I have always learned a lot from you. Drugs.com is very useful. My mom had the wrong combo of meds, and it was hard to wake up.

Debbie, you are absolutely right. It is so hard to figure out what our families will agree to for help.

Annie, are you ready for Vegas?

Pip, you sound like you don't take BS from anyone.

Well, I'd better go to bed. Enjoy your Saturday.

Allie ~ Congrats on the 35 lb weight loss! So happy for you.

Mo ~ So sorry that the little girl's mom made your work shift so difficult. The lady must have some mental problems or is very needy due to unknown circumstances. Also, glad your mom will be able to stay in the place she likes.

Tracey ~ Can't believe your 78 yr old grandmother wallpapered you home. I was able to do that in my 40's/50's but absolutely no way now. I feel so good that over the last two weeks I got all the carpet vacuumed and the kitchen and baths mopped. For me that was a BIG plus.

Lisa ~ Love your grand's braces and smile. She looks so happy.

M – I do some of my best thinking when I’m in the pool. Guess it’s because being in the pool is so relaxing that I can think. I also find that I do a lot of thinking while I’m on my walk, but mostly about things I need to do, I add things to my grocery list (I keep it on my phone), make phone calls, things like that

Made the banana chocolate cake, right now it’s cooling, maybe this afternoon I’ll make icing. I’m going to try icing it the way Sam’s iced their lemon bundt cake (I cut it up at the soup kitchen yesterday). The one thing I didn’t like was that the entire middle of the bundt cake was filled with nothing but icing. But Vince may like that.

We contracted with TruGreen to take care of our lawn. They first said they’d come out on the 3rd to give us a treatment for the red ants. No show. Admitted, the guy who signed us up said that so he might very well have said anything. Then they were supposed to be here between the 3rd and the 5th. We were told they’d text the day before they were to come. No text. So I called today to say how we are a new customer, this was to be our first treatment, was told they’d be here the 8th. In looking them up on the BBB site, seems they don’t have a good rating. Which to me, is very surprising since a lot of the neighbors use them. So we shall see what happens on the 8th.

After Vince has his lunch, we’re going to go out to trim the bushes. I suggested we use the dump cart for the tractor for all the branches, but Vince thinks that our gorilla cart will be enough. I don’t think so, and it’ll be me who has to walk around and empty the cart. I just spoke to Vince and got “OK, we’ll get out the GD dump cart”. It’s not like it’s going to be him walking back and forth to empty the gorilla cart.

Oh, remember that hole in the pergola? I told you it would be me who would be filling it in. Guess what I did yesterday?

My friend, Lynette, said that she purchased a house. I’m surprised where it is. Right on a highway, it’s probably about 20 minutes from our house. She’s the one who is always concerned about the weather (she talked once about Vince driving her to work <10 minutes away> because of the “snow”) so I would have thought she’d get a place closer to work. It has a pool. At one time she mentioned something about her having Vince take care of it. Not going to happen! He may help her at first to get it in shape, but not continually especially since it’s so far away. From the listing, it’s got well water. Wonder if she realizes that if the power goes out, so does her water. It’s on a septic. Right now she lives in town, she has all her life. Life with a septic is a bit different, you have to be careful not to put certain things (like lots of grease) down your septic. If it’s raining hard for a long time, you have to be careful of your water usage. Oh well...she’ll learn. It is going to be hard for me not to say anything to her. I do want to protect my friends but….. The house is 57 years old

Lanette – yes, you can open your garage door manually if you don’t have power. There’s a pull cord.

Allie – congrats on the weight loss. You are killlin’ it girl

Think I’ll take another piece of ceramic bisq with me to ceramics Mon. I was thinking of taking this Miss Piggy with me since next I want to work on Kermit the Frog. However, I just now saw that it’s a holiday Miss Piggy. She has holly leaves in her hair and is holding a bag of presents. Wish it wasn’t holiday-ish but that was the only Miss Piggy I could find anywhere. Well, guess I just gotta keep looking for ideas for colors.

Mo – thanks so much for your concern. We’re all fine, getting back to normal, trying to get caught up. But on the whole, doing real well. Taking care of that girl certainly made up for her mom

Tracey – I wouldn’t be able to wallpaper, and I’m not even 70 (yet)

Tina – we’ve gone to see TSO for almost 20 years, and, yes, I can see how they’re slowing down. One of the guys used to run across the stage multiple times and I see now that he only goes once and he’s not as fast. Unfortunately, that’s just time. Congrats on the addition to the family!

Just finished my walk. Cut it short because it was getting dark.

Well it looks like Milton is going to bombard Florida with another hurricane..this is rediculous..I feel so bad for e everyone down there..the PTSD for everyone must be unreal..
Was texting with Elena tonight and they are thinking of selling the place down there.. I loved it down there and Elena had some good times down there, but between the weather and all I think its just getting to be to much. So if it survives these hurricanes, I think it will be put up for sale.
They don't need the headaches at this stage of the game.Nobody does
I get to watch the little princess on Tuesday so mom and dad can go to the movies, that will be fun..I have so much to do this week
Between Drs for me and Doris its a wonder I can keep my head on straight.

    Gratitudes:
Saturday: Perfect autumn weather, sunny, 65, no wind. Skipped dog group but invested almost 2 hours puttering in the garden. Very pleasant.
Friday: Pleasant trip with T. Ibuprofen, then champagne eased rib discomfort from wrestling with the loaner.
Lanette how will you use your dried aronia berries? Googled and saw many health benefits but I wouldn’t be in a hurry to sample something called a black chokeberry ;)
Heather  the lunch pic but lardo doesn’t appeal
Rita thanks for the rX interactions links. I like my wild compression sox too, but what a pita to get them on and off :naughty:
Lisa, envy your returning mulberry. Mine won’t be back. Not enough sun in the side yard (or anywhere on our land) for the dwarf orchard I planted. Mandarin, mulberry, white peach, all dead sticks. Apple and cherry still struggling on. Our only reliable fruit sources are salal (yuck but the dogs like them), roaming strawberries and wild evergreen huckleberries (yum.)
Tracey yours to Debbie about the MIL badmouthing the helper. Insightful.
Mo imho being protective of your time is not being mean. Healthy boundaries. Well done.
Tina whooshing healing healthful thoughts to your new baby niece.
Debbie imho your poor DH and you are already in h*** thanks to your MIL. ((hugs))

    Later, lighter, lovelies!

M You are correct it is nitric oxide.

Great job in setting boundaries with the parent of one of your patients. Sorry you have to set the boundaries in the first place.

Debbie I am sorry MIL is so awful. DH is the one who needs to set boundaries. I understand why it is so hard to do! The fact that it is costing you peace of mind and money is not right. You are correct she will not care what it costs you. She sounds like a very troubled woman.

Dinner yesterday was pork roast, pan fried potatoes, large salad with oil and vinegar, and an orange for dessert.

Son called last night but DH took the phone from me! I hadn’t heard from my DS in a few weeks because his phone is broke. He called from a friend’s landline, which immediately made me worry. LOL, but it was my son checking in. He sounded good so happy about that. I worry about him.
