@yirara So sorry you are going to have surgery that is going to affect your ability to exercise. I'm of the mind that the being in the best shape possible going into surgery will help with recovery and get you back out there faster. Keep up the good work and I hope you will continue to check in here in December as you recover.

I didn't post yesterday. I went to the gym early, worked at daycare, and then did a true wun on the driveway before heading to church.
I went to the gym this morning and got a PR for deadlift of 115 pound x 4. I cut the session a little short because of everything else I had planned for the day.
After I finished, I went ahead and did a run over to and around a local cemetery. I was going to count it as a walk, but I went a lot faster than I thought I would, so a run it is....12:54 min/mile avg pace. Avg HR was 113 with a max of 143 bpm.
I ran a couple of errands, got my hair cut, and worked at daycare for 4 hours.
I left in time to meet my friend for singles tennis at 4. We played to an 8-8 game tie and quit. After about a 30 min rest, I played doubles with the ladies from my team that are going to go to the state tournament next week. I filled in for someone who couldn't make the "practice." (I decided to not go to the tournament this time.) I think I won one and lost one. I really can't remember. But it was fun and a lot of tennis.4 -

I went to the gym this morning and did a lot of arm work. Bench press PR of 60 pounds x 2 reps. It's not much, but it is progress.
After work, I did the planned drill workout on the driveway. I really didn't want to do it, but once I got started, it was okay. I walked 0.35 miles for warm up and 0.45 miles for cool down. The rest was the drills and wunning. Avg pace was 12:48 min/mil. Avg HR wwas 138 with a max of 161 bpm. My cadence got to 203 and Garmin told me that was too high. The paces during the high cadence 30 s were 10:14, 9:22, 9:39, and 9:17 min/mile.5 -

Today's plan was a 5 mile half marathon pace run. I added a half mile warm up and cool down, so I ran 6 miles. I was pleased with how it went. My hm pace is 9:34 and I ran the 5 miles with an average pace of 9:31. Hopefully I will be able to maintain that pace for 13 miles.

Long run today. It was warmer this morning so it was a bit more work than usual but it went pretty well.
Also went to Pilates day before yesterday.
I went to the dr earlier this week. Blood work was all normal as I expected it would be. EKG was fine. My dr referred me to a cardiologist but I think she mostly just wanted to give me something. Nothing really points to a cardiac issue. I will probably take the appt just to cross it off my list but I'm not convinced it's worth my time.
My HRV has normalized with the drop in volume and intensity. I'm going to stick with the Garmin plan for this cycle even though it's a lot less volume than I'm used to right now. We'll see how it goes.

After doing 3.5 hours of yardwork a treadmill run was all I could manage. And I forgot to start my watch until after the first mile 🙄

This was cut back week in my HM training so we ran 8 miles and then met a friend for coffee and a long overdue chat session.3 -

@martaindale I'm glad your doctor appointment went well, but I know you were hoping for an answer. It's frustrating when you know something is "wrong," but you can't find out what it is. I think seeing the cardiologist is a good idea. At least you will know for sure it isn't a heart issue. Did you ask your doctor about Long Covid? I'm glad you are feeling better on a lower volume of exercise.

I ran 12 miles for my long run today. I kept the pace easy, but the last 3 miles were tough. The weather was pretty nice, but I was tired. I just have two weeks until the race so I guess it is about time to start to taper.

I worked out why my calves have been feeling tight… as I have been running shorter distances, I was skipping my stretch exercises afterwards: simply resuming those has eased the tension.
Lovely weather yesterday for my RunWalkRun - cool but sunny. I feel sluggish over a 1 mile (I only seem to get into the headspace for running when I get past the first mile) so looking forward to going a bit further soon
I only have one scheduled run left this month so I know I won’t make my target this month, but I have no idea what Coach Jeff has in store for me next… maybe I will just tot up miles as I go, and choose a challenge that isn’t distance related. Split times? Run pace? Average HR? I’ll have a think!

Most random thing. This brewpub 'Warpigs' came highly recommended. For food, turns out they do bbq. Some Danish guy on his travels in the US... Became besotted with BBQ and partnered up with his microbrewer. Anyhoo...

I'll see if I can upload some Copenhagen pics. Most of the 'decent' ones are already on Strava and don't involve alcohol lol. Food scene is amazing. Had two very exquisite Lunches there

@AmunahSki I can see how skipping your normal stretching would make an impact. Glad you figured it out. It is hard to figure mileage when you can only see three of the planned runs ahead of time. If Jeff's 5K plan is like the HM one, you'll be doing the drills twice a week and a long run once, if that helps.

153 of 175k for the month.
4 days to do 22kms. Probably doable, just need to run one half marathon. lol.
Blood work came back and I'm now just below the bottom range for hemoglobin levels. Can't do anything about it though as it's genetic. Oh well.

79.50/80 mile goal
Went to the gym this morning. Today was deadlift day and I got a PR of 120 pounds x 5 reps.
After I got home, I did my planned drill workout. Cadence drill paces were 9:49, 9:33, 9:55, and 8:55 min/mile (30 sec intervals). The Avg pace for the entire run was 12:42 min/mile. Avg HR was 136 with a max of 164 bpm.
I have lost 11 pounds in the last 3 months.
I've had some non-scale victories lately too. The owner of the gym said he could see that I was slimming down.
When I told the other teacher in my classroom at daycare that I was eating a salad to try to keep from gaining weight, she said "Why? You are so tiny." (I've never been told I was tiny before.)
At church yesterday, the lady that sat behind me asked if I was loosing weight, that she could tell (she hadn't seen me for about 3 weeks).
And I wore a pair of dress pants yesterday that I haven't been able to wear for a while and they were not tight. When I got home, I checked the size, and they are my size 8's!
So, the weight is one thing. The body size/shape is another.7
