From 282lbs to about 230lbs. Been in the process for almost a decade now of losing fat, building muscle, back to gaining fat and muscle, and cutting again. Just don't ever give up!

70lbs down in six months. I've got about 50lbs more to go, but I was very happy with how crazy this comparison looks

Start weight 29 Feb 2024 - 98kg. Current weight 71.4kg. First goal weight was 68kg but thinking 64 would be feel more comfortable and that will be it. 26.6kg lost in 5 months in 3 weeks. It's been crazy with menopause but I'm feeling so much better and balanced all round! I need to exercise but so nice to not feel heavy and I have bad knees and no pain in ages since losing weight. Everyone looks AMAZING!! Well done all 👏 😍

Carrying on from my last post, I've managed to drop 6 stone/84lbs/38kg now and found this old picture of me from 2019 that I just had to compare to the photo I took yesterday when I was finally able to buy a tuxedo25 -

12 week progress from April 16th to July 7th 2024 Fat loss - 36.5 lbs. SW - 223 CW - 186.5. I am 163cm. 37 years old.
In 12 weeks I am around half way to my fat loss goal and I am so happy! Most of my current success is because I stopped drinking (problematic). And increased my activity from barely doing 5k steps a day to averaging 15k and weight training x3 p/w (this also helped busy my mind and body so I didn't think about drinking so much). I averaged around 1500 calories a day, sometimes less if I couldn't be active that day, sometimes more if I was hungry. Most of my calories were coming from alcohol so fortunately I didn't have to hit the diet too hard, I just made healthier choices and aimed for higher protein, higher fibre and lower but not low carb.
I know the second half will be slower, but it doesn't feel like this huge mountain anymore and my entire mindset has changed in the past 12 weeks. Am I close to my goal? No. Will I reach it? Yes. And I will now enjoy it!
I am just restarting my journey for the millionth time... this time I am cutting alcohol out completely which has been the reason why I kept failing in my weight loss attempts... my drinking was problematic too. Thank you for being open and honest, it is giving me hope on my week one !!!12 -

At the risk of sounding like a pervy old woman on the internet, I’d like to “inspire” “like” and “hug” you.
I’ve seen your posts and applaud you for hanging in there.
Any chance you’d like to participate more on the boards and share what you’ve learned? You’ve clearly been super successful and could inspire others.
What an awesome win. I hope it’s changed your life!

This past summer While I was out on my daily walk. A bus load of seniors was walking. And as I came up behind I followed the pack for a while. Until this one nice old lady Invited me to pass. "So that they could enjoy the view". It gave me the biggest smile for the rest of my walk.

🙃.... it's been a journey... I've been humongous...
Than normal...
Broke my ankle... gained weight...
Lost it...
And added some muscle...
Now I'm trying to do a major cut...
Add me I need more friends I came on to help me log my calories again and keep me accountable...
I'm 6'3 370lbs now.... I'm 41
Was 500+ when I was 31
Than 320 no muscle just cardio...
And now trying to get to 330lbs with muscle
I'm 6'3 btw.... but always stay working 💪
Send me an add let's be friends 🧡

@TicoSlp as an old, utterly nonthreatening internet granny, I just want to say what a great smile you have.
I’d notice that far faster than anything else about you.
“Friends” are pretty dead here since they removed the “friends feed” in June. But we would welcome you as a frequent poster. I got a ton (ha!) of help here during my own weight loss. I came here knowing nothing about weight loss, and (obvs, judging from my weight) nutrition. No question too stupid, too minute, too embarrassing to receive a considered answer.
We’ve got a lot of lifters here, too. They’ve been a golden source of info and inspiration.
Would also suggest you check out the “Challenges” board to find a pose who has similar goals. Checking in, while not nearly as fun as a friends feed (hello, MFP?!) has helped me stay accountable.
You might also find a group under the “groups” tab, although many groups start, flail a bit, and wither on the vine. Just like folks’ diet plans. Comes with the territory.
Keep that megawatt smile and stick around!
@Tobacha good job! Although I see shades of me with the defeated posture in your “before” pic. Carry on with what you’re doing. Can you already see the difference in confidence between the two pics? Btw, your (overhead) self portrait… priceless. The two of you belong on our Art thread!2 -

@TcoSlp, I thought the same thing about your smile. Ditto what @springlering62 also said about the "friends" page being gone, but you are welcome to come over to the "What Was Your Workout Today?" message board. Some of us post every day and it would be great to "see" you there.

Thank you! I sincerely appreciated your comment. I need to be more social so I may start posting on here. I went way out of my comfort zone and competed in my first federation sanctioned powerlifting meet this past weekend. Now I'm definitely planning on doing more in the future.8
